Chapter 6 Part 1 - The Truth
A/N - I own everything in this story and I tried my best to make it historically accurate, but no promises though, as I might have to look up websites and such to make sure it's accurate since I forgot nearly everything I learnt in my old history class as I only remember the most important parts, but not the minor details. I hope you guys enjoyed it.
Dorothy has planned this for a year now and waited for the right time. Now, it's time as she dresses in her wedding dress, which is a frilly, but elegant white dress that shows her cleavage a bit as well as no sleeves, white high heels and a white flower that tied her hair into a bun. She is wearing red lipstick and pink blushes, but that's it.
Dorothy stares at the mirror and takes a deep breath. She hears a knock on the door, where she opens a bit and sees Janet.
"Ah! Come in, quick!" Dorothy told her where Janet rushes in before people sees her. "Did you get the car ready for Sheila?"
"Yeah! Richard and George should be waiting for us, away from the church," Janet told her.
Another knock on the door happens, which Janet dashes into the closet and hides inside. Dorothy opens the door... and sees Linda, with a sorrowful expression.
"... M-Mother?!" Dorothy shouted, "What are you doing here?"
"... We need to talk..." Linda told her as she pushes past her and closes the door.
"H-Hey!" Dorothy shouted.
"I know what you're hiding!" Linda told her. "You're having an affair with a lower-class black man, aren't you?"
Dorothy stares in shock and completely speechless, while Janet, still hiding behind the closet, gasps and covers her mouth while eavesdropping.
"So that private investigator I hired was right, then..." Linda said, which shocks Dorothy even further.
"You... you spied on me?!" Dorothy shouted angrily. "If that's true... why didn't you tell father?"
"... I... I did it out of spite," Linda admitted, shocking Dorothy even further, "If I have to be very honest, I hate your father more then anything, more then I hate you three,"
"... You... you hate us...?" Dorothy asked as her face turns pale.
"Sadly... yes," Linda admitted, "I never wanted to have children, heck, I always hate children, but your grandparents forced me into baring his children... I hate it... I bloody hate it... I can't stand seeing you three, especially since you three are Robert's daughters."
"... M... Mother..."
"There's also another thing... I... when I found out... I knew history would repeat itself," Linda said.
"What do you mean?" Dorothy asked.
"... Long before you were born," Linda said, "I... I was in love with my family's slave... he was charming, strong and reliable... sadly, my parents found out and killed him as punishment..."
"...I..."
"And they forced me to marry a rich, but disgusting man, who is your father," Linda told her, "I wanted to escape, but I had no one to help me... so I have to endure, and eventually, I ended up becoming similar to him, much to my disgust,"
Dorothy stayed silent and listen, even though she couldn't believe what she's hearing.
"I'm not going to ask forgiveness," Linda said, "I honestly don't care if you forgive me or not. My biggest regret is having children and not running away. I hate my life as a mother. I hate my life as a wife. I hate my own life that I tried killing myself many times, but... nothing,"
"... If you hate me so much, then why...?"
"I... I can't bare to see someone go through the same stuff as I..." Linda admitted, "Don't make the mistakes I did. After this wedding... I had enough, I'm going to run away and not come back."
"... I... I see..." Dorothy spoke and nods, "Okay... I get it... thanks... Linda..."
"One more thing," Linda said as she gives her a credit card, "I stole this from Robert. Keep it hidden and don't let him know... bye... forever,"
Linda scoffs and leaves the room. Once the door slams shut, Dorothy starts to tear up and collapse to the floor, where Janet gets out of the closet and goes down to her.
"I... I... I have a feeling..." Dorothy admitted, "B... But I never thought... she... she would... would..."
"... Dorothy..." Janet said, "Even if she didn't love you, at least she cares enough to warn you..."
"... I... I guess..." Dorothy replied, still crying and her face turning red, "I... I knew... she hated us... but... but I never thought... she hates us... this much..."
"Dorothy... you need to calm down," Janet told her, "Come on! You're stronger than this! So what that riffraff hates you? She needs to put a lid on it! Fudge her!"
"... Thank you..." Dorothy thanked as she wipes her tears, "I... I have to be strong... even if my own parents hate me. I'm going to make my own path, whether Robert likes it or not!"
A/N - And this is why we don't force people into baby-making. Bad shit happens, even worse if they hate children. I hope you guys enjoyed this part. Leave a comment and have a good day, my guild. Aqua out!
