Chapter 1 part 1 - Arriving on America
A/N - I own everything in this story and I tried my best to make it historically accurate, but no promises though, as I might have to look up websites and such to make sure it's accurate since I forgot nearly everything I learnt in my old history class as I only remember the most important parts, but not the minor details. I hope you guys enjoyed it.
Also, there is gonna be a lot of racism since this is in the 1950s, even racist words, so for those kinds of words, I will censor that cuz I feel very uncomfortable using those words (Considering I'm Latina) and I will use words like white and black, even though I'm not a big fan of using those type of words, but to fit in to the theme of the story, I'll have to.
(Outside of a mansion)
An old-fashioned taxi car arrives at a white and beautiful mansion where a black-skinned maid, who has a blue maid uniform, black hair tied in a bun and brown eyes, is waiting for the people to get out of the taxi.
A white family comes out of the taxi and walks up to the man. The oldest man, who has a black suit, blonde hair with some grey hairs and greyish-blue eyes, is the first one to come out of the taxi.
"This is the perfect country for my daughter's wedding, no Mr Blackwood?" The man asked.
"Yes, Mr Evans," The young, handsome white man replied. He has sharp dark brown eyes, dark brown, slicked back hair and wears a black suit. "First, just call me James, and second I'm looking forward to marrying your beautiful daughter,"
"I'm quite glad, Mr Blackwood," Mr Evans replied.
"Come on girls, we should get going," The oldest woman told the younger women off as she gets off the car, along with the other three women and two men. "Well, shall we get going, my dear husband?"
"Of course, Linda," Mr Evans replied to his wife, who looks roughly around his age as she has dark brown hair with some grey hairs, red lipstick, blue eyes, blue dress, a small hat with a white rose, blue high heels and a white pearl necklace around her neck.
"May I accompany you, Mr and Mrs Evans?" The maid asked them.
"...No thanks... we will do it ourselves..." Mr Evans replied coldly to her as the family walks away.
Which, a white woman with black hair tied in a bun, blue eyes, red lipstick, silver earrings, purple blouse, black long skirt and purple high heels, bumps into the maid's shoulder with a smirk, but the maid looks down on the ground, not saying anything while the white woman walks with a dark, but well-groomed and handsome white man with black, slicked-back hair, green eyes and wears a grey suit.
The maid sighs as she was suddenly touched by the shoulder. She turns and sees a younger white woman with long, wavy, blonde hair, blue eyes, white dress, white high heels and white short gloves.
"I'm sorry about my older sister," She said, "Oh, and I'm Dorothy, by the way,"
"...Janet..." The maid replied.
"Nice to meet you," Dorothy said as she walks away, which made Janet smiles a bit.
(Indoors)
"Alright everyone, go to your rooms, whatever rooms you want," Mr Evans told them.
"Yes father," His daughters said.
"Yes Mr Evans," The men replied as the two couples and Dorothy went to their rooms.
(In Dorothy's room)
Dorothy enters her room, which is very simple, but fancy with its clean white walls, beige floor, a white bed, a window and a shelf. She sighs as she starts unpacking her stuff until James enters her room.
"Hello beautiful," James said, which makes Dorothy rolls her eyes over and looks at him with a bored expression, "Oh come on, don't give me that look... you should be smiling, since it fits you better as you're a woman and my future wife,"
"...." Dorothy stayed quiet, till... "Get out, I don't even love you and I know you're only marrying me for a family benefit,"
"Grr..." James growled as he grabs her arm and pushes her to the wall.
"AH!" Dorothy screamed as he corners her.
"You know... you wouldn't say that type of stuff in my face once we've become married," James said as he grabs her face, "When we get married, you're my property where I get to do all kind of things to you... just like Sheila's marriage with Randall,"
"..." Dorothy glared at him.
"...Good girl," James said as he leaves her room with a smirk.
"...How dare he..." Dorothy growled as she sits down on her bed, which she heard another knocking, "...Come in..."
A woman, who is a little younger than Dorothy, has light brown hair that is short and curled up, blue eyes and wears a green dress, black high heels and... has a bruise on her right cheek.
"...It's your husband... isn't it?" Dorothy asked her, which she shakes her head. "...Is it... Rebecca or her husband, Jacob?"
"...Her husband..." Her sister replied as she sits next to her younger sister and starts crying with her hands covering her face.
"...Sheila..." Dorothy frowned as she puts her hand on her back, which suddenly, the same woman who bumped into Janet's shoulder came in.
"Well... well... well, if it isn't my boring, younger sisters..." The woman mocked them, which greatly anger Dorothy as she stands up and glares at her.
"Hey! The only reason you're the only one who isn't abused is that you're just as cruel as your husband, Rebecca!" Dorothy told her off.
"Wow, you're yelling at a pregnant woman? I never thought you would stood that low, dear sister," Rebecca replied.
"Said the woman who has her husband slaps her own sister!" Dorothy replied.
"She was acting too bratty, fitting for the youngest," Rebecca explained, "And I know my parents would get angry if I did it, so I have my husband put in her place."
"...Grr..." Dorothy growled at her.
"...Goodnight... sisters..." Rebecca said as she walks back to the door, "Don't let the n###s bite you at night..."
Then, Rebecca leaves the room.
(In the hallway)
Rebecca walks through the hallway until she bumps into Janet again, in which the young maid collapsed to the floor.
"You stupid n####!" Rebecca shouted at her as she grabs her by the hair and starts pulling.
"Ahhh! S-Stop!" Janet begged her.
"What are you? The boss of me?!" Rebecca shouted as she throws her to the ground, "You're below me, you peasant! Know your place!"
Rebecca walks away while Janet starts to tear up as she stands up and continues walking as she sees Sheila leaving Dorothy's room and back to her own room. Janet walks to Dorothy's room and knocks on her door.
"...Come in..." Dorothy said, in which Janet enters her room, "Oh, hi there Janet,"
"... Hello master..." Janet said with a bit of smile; relief to be called by her name instead of racist ones.
"Please, just call me Dorothy," Dorothy told her.
"O-Okay..." Janet replied, "Though... I don't think your family and your fiance would be too happy to see me acting friendly with you..."
"...I do not care," Dorothy replied.
"... I... I see..." Janet said, "Do you need something?"
"...Well, you're born here, right?"
"Y-Yes..." Janet replied.
"Well, maybe you can give me a tour around here," Dorothy said.
"O-Oh of course!"
"And if anybody asks, just say you're just guiding me as I'm a foreigner," Dorothy told her.
"Naturally," Janet said as she leaves her room, "Good night..."
"...Good night," Dorothy replied as the maid leaves while the blonde-haired woman starts changing her outfit into her pjs, in which she lays down on the bed, gulps, but falls asleep.
A/N - First chapter and already into the fucked up stuff like abuses and racism, well it is the 1950s, what do you expect? Considering the whole segregation law is recently just lifted, thus racism still exists majorly as well as how bad marriages are in the 1950s considering men have more power than women and when marriages go wrong, the blame is always on the woman.
But, I still hope you guys enjoyed this part and if you did, leave a comment and have a good day, my ninja clan. See you guys next Saturday. Kuno out!
