Jack's P.O.V.

The bus hit a bump, sending me slamming into Cry and Felix again. My two friends had been silent the whole ride, giving me the silent treatment I presume.

" Jack... what the hell did you do?" Felix said, breaking the silence.

I looked away, ignoring Felix and Cry's piercing stare. Cry softly placed a hand on my shoulder, trying to soothe me into talking. Typical.

" He..." I started, " I just..."

" Just what bro?" Felix asked.

" He didn't deserve anything. He's a human too... well... a wolf human thing like us too." I said with a giggle.

" But Jack," Cry began, " you didn't feel any mercy like that to the other alphas you've fought.

I felt a slight heat on my cheeks, I tried to turn away to hide it. Thankfully it went unnoticed. I looked over at the two Betas fighting Felix. The brown haired one kissed the black haired ones forehead, earning a giggle from the black haired one. They looked so comfortable with their sexuality, I just wish I was the same.

Mark's P.O.V.

I turned my head to sneak a look at Jack again. I was trying to see why I was chosen mercy over, I mean, I had seen the alphas he was with before... He had a nasty scar on his left cheek, but it was worn with age. His blue eyes looked alert and protective as any alphas should. His two pack mates that sat next to him looked filled with worry and concern. The one, Felix I believe, still had dried blood on his neck. I looked over at Wade. Wade seemed pretty pissed off at me.

" Wade..." I murmured, looking up at his tall figure.

" Mark, I'm your best friend and it's my job to help you!" Wade exclaimed, " So, you need to talk to me. Why didn't you do anything?"

" I just... I just couldn't. He gave me mercy so... I didn't think it was fair to take advantage of his kindness." I said thoughtfully.

Wades eyes bore daggers into me.

" Mark." he said firmly.

" What...?" I said, drawing out the 'a'.

" You're in love." Wade said, a warm smile crossing over his face.

I remained silent for the rest of the rest of the ride staring out the window. What Wade said was pondering my mind until the bus driver shrieked.

" FISHBACH!"

I snapped out of my dazed and clambered of the bus. My pack was waiting for me patiently.

" Hey Mark!" Tyler called.

" Hey." I replied.

I walked into English class, accidentally bumping Felix's shoulder. He whimpered and shank back, not wanting to repeat earlier. I threw my stuff on a random desk and put my head in my hand. I glanced around, no one from Sawtooth was here. I sighed, it turning into a mild growl at the end. I noticed a familiar sent, it made me feel contented. I looked at the door, noticing it was coming from Jack. He smelled weirdly of cologne and cookies. It made me feel drowsy. He was practically snorting with laughter with a weird guy who wears a mask 24/7. I grinned a bit thinking about it.

" Mornin' class." Mr. Tré called.

" Morning." the class grumbled.

Mr. Tré always seemed cheerful and drunk at the same time. He made English pretty fun, but I would rather be home. I gazed out the window blankly. Jack wouldn't leave my mind.

The bell rang and I picked my stuff up.

" MARK!" a voice yelled.

I froze in my tracks. My face started to heat up and my hands were clammy. I turned to be face to face with Jack.

" I just wanted to say... uh... thanks for not... yeah know... hurtin' me or anything." Jack said, rubbing the back of his neck.

" Uh.... no problem." I replied.

Jack brushed his hair out of his face and smiled. He turned and was immediately met up with his pack mates. I turned and bumped into Bob.

" Sorry." I mumbled.

" Wow. Wade was right. That is something new." Bob said absentmindedly.

" Huh--?" I questioned as Bob walked away.

I walked off to lunch, swinging my arms. I was met up by one of ' those ' girls.

" Hey Marrkkkk." she slurred, rubbing her hand down my chest.

" Bye Boobs McKenzie." I snorted.

I turned around and walked into the cafeteria. I sat down with my pack mates.

" So... saw you with Boobs McKenzie again." Dan scoffed.

Phil snorted milk through his nose, he was laughing so hard.

" Is anything ever going to happen with you and that slut?" Dan continued, trying to ignore his mate's obscene behavior.

Wade and Bob exchanged knowing glances. I felt my face heat up and I tried to keep my cool.

" No you dumbasses." I said, rolling my eyes.

" Of course not! He's in love with--" Wade started.

I coughed extremely loud. I turned my chocolate brown eyes towards Wade and glared.

I looked over at Jack, some slutty girl was trying to hit on him.

" Piss off ya' whore." he hissed.

I was taken a back by his defensiveness towards the girl. She scoffed, and with a exaggerated hair flip, she left. I felt my face heat up, and I sighed contentedly. I was in love.
