New Orleans
Chris' POV
"Welcome to New Orleans!" A your guide from the boat said as I got off along with the twenty other people that were on the cruise ship with me. I dragged my luggage behind me and made my way to a cab at the corner.
Getting in I paid the cab driver ahead of time telling him where to go. It was quickly approaching night and I wanted to get to my apartment before that happened.
I was eighteen and for my high school graduation my parents bought me an apartment here and said they'd visit me whenever they could. I had been surprised they had even trusted me to live alone so soon. A thousand miles away no less.
But my college was pretty much here and so there wasn't any other choice. Upon reaching my apartment I climbed out of the cab and waved goodbye to the cab driver, walking inside and up the stairs to my flat.
I walked inside and set my bags down on the floor in my bedroom. The flat was pretty big. Bigger than what I needed but hey, I wasn't complaining.
The sound of loud music filtered in through my cracked open window and I strode over to it, peering out. Across the street from me was a bar. It seemed to be filling with people.
I thought for a second. I am eighteen now and the laws here are different...
I grabbed my jacket and keys and headed out.
What was the worst that could happen?
Klaus' POV
I sat at the bar talking to Marcel about a plan to keep the witches from getting their hands on Davina when someone sat beside me. I stopped talking and turned to look at the person beside me. My sister Rebekah looked right back at me, an innocent look on her face.
"What?" She asked.
"You know exactly what." I say. "What are you doing?"
"Nothing. Why are you so quick to question me? What are you doing?" Rebekah shot back.
I glared at her and she shut up. I turned my attention away from her scanning the room for Elijah. As I was doing so my eyes rested on the door as a brown haired kid no older than eighteen walked in.
I found myself staring at him. I couldn't stop. Looking closer I saw that he was eighteen and he had brown hair styles in a small quiff, his eyes a beautiful hazel color. His skin complexion was fair and he was slightly flushed.
He looked so lost. Like he didn't know what to do or go. I stood up from my chair and ignoring Marcel's call for me to come back I made my way over to the guy.
"Hey. I couldn't help but notice that you look a bit lost." I held my hand out. "I'm Klaus."
The guy smiled and shook my hand. "I'm not really lost. And I'm Chris."
"So then what brings you here looking like a deer caught in headlights?" I inquired, raising an eyebrow.
Chris chuckled and said, "Well I'm here for college and I live just across the street."
"Is that so?"
Chris nodded. "My parents bought it for me. As a graduation present."
I grinned wolfishly at him. "Well that was very nice of them. Would you like a drink?"
Chris bit his lip and have a small nod. "Sure."
I led him to the opposite side of the bar, knowing that Marcel was watching me. "Let's get to know each other better, shall we?"
