Ch. 4
Desert temperatures were unlike temperatures during the day as night fell, the sky a dark blue with silver dots appearing on it, clouds covering some as Urbosa was going to the Yiga Clan Hideout. The champion had a feeling Link would possibly be there. Or so, she hope he was. If he wasn't and she was captured, was it worth it still? All in the end is it truly worth it to save a boy Zelda may be crushing on? Urbosa knew first love was the important love, the flutter of the heart, the flirting and being so naive to it. She knew it all so well from her own first love, one she refuses to say as she look down at her stomach. She was expecting yes, but it was becoming risky. If she died and this child died inside her....or worse, if the child died as she battled.
"Why did I do it?" she whisper to herself as she knew it was the way the Gerudo are. Go out, take a man to bed and come back pregnant. She did not know when the Calamity will show its ugly smug face. She did need a heir to the throne after all, even if she fell. Pregnant or not, her sister will take the throne if she died.
Urbosa sighed as she walked into the hideout, starting to sneak around. She saw Yiga archers patrolling as she sighed. This can't do. Urbosa was too tall and unprepared....
"Gerudo!" A Yiga voice was heard as every exit closed, leaving the pregnant champion trapped. Urbosa took her scimitar out as well as her shield, prepared to battle until she saw a Yiga appear in front of her, blonde hair up instead of jet black as the rebel fired its arrows.
"Are you Link?!" Urbosa yelled over the commotion, fighting alongside the shorter Yiga. The Yiga did not respond, fixated on taking out those against him and trying to open the exits. "Answer me!"
The Yiga still didn't answer, making Urbosa use her lightning as she held her stomach soon after, hissing softly. Her being an elemental Gerudo was risky for her child. She saw the Yiga removing his mask as it was a boy with blonde hair and pierce blue eyes. "I am Link. Now it's time to go." he said as Urbosa nodded, following the former Yiga.
"Why are you here?" he ask once they were save, Urbosa holding her growing bump. "Why?"
"For, Princess Zelda." The chief answered. "Come along, you can hide out in the Gerudo Town for the time being until the princess is able to arrive safely and without her father knowing," she explained as she whistled loudly, a blue sand seal popping its head from the sand, swimming over to her as she set her shield down, tying it to the seal. "I'll hold you. No need to be so frighten."
"I'm not frightened. They are shy creatures." Link waited until Urbosa was on before being gently held by the Gerudo Warrior, them sailing in the pitch dark night, sailing to the Gerudo Town. The ride there was silent, Urbosa noticing the boy starting to shiver.
"You aren't a Sheikah?" she inquired.
"I am!" he retorted with a huff. "An ex-Sheikah that did support the Calamity. But the princess made me see my ways...." That made Urbosa chuckle.
"Are you sure it wasn't you seeing what they do wrong to the innocent?" she asked, the seal stopping at the sandstone wall before diving under it, going to the royal stable. Urbosa grabbed her shield, placing it back as she stood still for a moment.
"I'm positive it was Princess Zelly's-ZELDA I MEAN!" Link blushed as Urbosa laughed.
"No need to be embarrassed young man," she told him as they walked through the gates, the Gerudo bowing in respect to Urbosa but keeping Link out. "Relax ladies, he's with me."
"B-but Chief Urbosa!" A guard asked. "What if he steals the Thunder Helm?"
"I don't see him ever attempting thievery. We are the queens of thieves," Urbosa answered as she looked at them. "Allow him in right away." The guards put down their spears, allowing Link through as they walked to the palace, Urbosa stopping.
"Uh, Chief Urbosa, do you want to rest?" Link ask, confused as he seen her throw up. "Ma'am?!"
"I'm alright child," she coughed. "Just, morning sickness. I'm carrying and I don't want many to know." Urbosa took a deep breath as she shook her head. "Let's get to the palace, I'll show you where you can rest your head at."
The conversation about the pregnancy didn't start up until the duo were in the palace, Urbosa deciding to get the young man some clean clothes and clothes that weren't of his ex-tribe's. She went into her quarters, closing the balcony's curtains as Link stood in front of the closed drapes, watching Urbosa take a box from the chifforobe. "Urbosa, whats pregnancy?" he ask.
"Child were you raised under," She started then stopped. "The Yiga don't educate you one bit?" Urbosa opened the box and took out Vai like clothing, handing them to Link as they were his size. "Put those on and don't start up on another conversation until those Yiga rags are discarded." she ordered. She closed the box as she placed it back up on top of the chifforobe, her removing her armored gauntlets as she gazed at the Thunder Helm while Link discarded his rags.
The boy walked over to Urbosa, wearing all Vai clothing except for the mask and shoes, his scars on his toned torso showing. "I'll let you sleep on the sofa for tonight but tomorrow at the hotel. I'll pay for your stay each night and you may feast with me at dawn and dusk if you wish." The Chief said as she gazed her eyes on him. "Now, lie down and go to sleep."
Link didn't say much as he curled up on the couch, hearing Urbosa plop down onto the plush queen size bed. "Good night," the boy whispered.
"Sav'orr Link," Urbosa responded in the Gerudo language, both drifting off into a dreamless sleep.
