"You know...we should totally have a repeat of last weekend." Savannah suggested suddenly and I took a sip of my lemonade instead of asking her to elaborate

We were in Tiana's cafe on my lunch break, talking about our plans for the weekend. I knew I didn't have much work to do since I mainly finished it today, so I could already tell where she was going with this. I wasn't totally against the idea, but I was against what could come out of this idea.

Preferably, I was against seeing Cole.

Since Monday, we haven't seen each other or even spoke to each other. Through email that is. Rebecca hasn't emailed me and I sure as hell haven't wrote to her, so I assumed that was the end of the arrangement. As the days flew by, I was glad that I didn't tell Hakeem since the interaction ended almost as quickly as it started.

"What do you mean by that Savannah?" I asked intensely and she grinned softly, confirming my thoughts

Before she could answer though, I cut her off, sitting my cup down.

"No, absolutely not. You literally told me I had to choose. I choose my business." I replied and she rolled her eyes and looked around the cafe before answering

"Just because Cole gave you mixed emotions doesn't mean you have to stop changing for yourself. I could tell that going to the club was a good thing for you. You had a completely different attitude when you were dancing. I'd hate to see that falter away because of him."

I sat back begrudgingly, eating a french fry, and thought over her words. Going to the club last weekend was one of the best experiences of my life since I felt confident in a new lighting. I felt something inside me that was begging to explore the opportunity to new heights and relish in the moment. I really did have a carefree attitude in those short three hours, but my happiness was short lived because of Cole and the unexpected gunshots.

I've never heard any in my entire 22 years of living, and I hadn't planned on it that night either.

Through the week, I realized that the night could've took an even more unexpected turn, with possibly Savannah or I getting injured, and I couldn't risk that on a daily basis. If that was everyone's thought of clubbing, I was fine with reading books and sipping tea until the early morning. In the comfort of my own room.

"It wouldn't be leaving just because of him. It's crazy how you forgot all about the gunshots that forced us to leave the building." I retaliated and her lips parted slightly

"There were gunshots?" She asked shockingly and I looked at her as if she suddenly grew two heads

"Savannah, sweetheart, what do you remember from that night?" I asked gently and she rolled her eyes in response

That was another thing I didn't want happening at the club. Drinking so much to the point I forgot things – really important things for that matter. If it weren't for me being there with her, something could've happened to her and she wouldn't have remembered any of it. The thought alone almost ruined my appetite.

"I remembered that I took a couple of shots with you and a couple of other girls, umm, I saw you with Cole, and then I heard screaming and saw people running through the back door." She finalized and I nodded in content

She knew the basics and that was enough for me. If I told her that Cole and his mysterious friend drove us back here she'd really question my sanity. Hakeem doesn't even know where I live and neither does my mother. It was only my workers and Savannah who even knew I had a mansion in my name. Allowing Cole to drive me there or simply down the street wasn't something I could just tell her.

"Mhm, well yeah that was all what happened. It was a crazy night." I answered and took another sip of my drink, pulling out my phone to check the time

I only had 10 minutes left before going back to work.

"Shit, hey Savannah I'll see you at the house okay, I gotta get back to work." I informed her and she nodded, picking up all of her trash

We threw our trash in the bin and I called Harry to tell him he could get us and waved goodbye to Mrs. Tiana.

"See you tomorrow dear, thanks for stopping by." Mrs. Tiana spoke, saving Savannah and I off

I smiled as we walked through the doors, and eventually Harry pulled up and we got in. The air was becoming cooler during the evenings and I couldn't say that I was too thrilled about it. When we buckled our seatbelts, he started the drive back to the company, and I pulled out my phone again to check my emails.

"You never did answer my question Navehya." Savannah suddenly blurted through the silent car

I turned to her with a confused expression and she raised her eyebrow at me in mockery.

"I did ask you if we could go clubbing this weekend." She reminded me and I internally sighed

I honestly just didn't feel up for it, but I also didn't want her to go on another speech about me getting out of the house, so I reluctantly nodded my head.

She squealed and cheered at my response and I couldn't help but roll my eyes at her eagerness. I didn't know why or even how she was addicted to going to the club, but whatever the reason was it made her an extrovert with a bubbly and adventurous personality. It suited her well.

Harry finally pulled into the parking lot of the company and I got out of the car and waved them off, but not before telling him to take Savannah straight home. The two of them were used to sneaking around behind my back going to the movies and malls, and while I didn't have a problem with it, I also wanted them to know that I wasn't blind. At least not that much.

The both of them laughed subtly and I nodded before heading to the entrance doors. Upon seeing Angela, I waved and she waved back at me and mouthed 'hey' since she was already on the phone with someone.

I smiled softly and started to walk through the lobby, to the elevator. When I got there, I pressed the top floor, and unlike last time, there were no interruptions. Oddly enough, the thought that my life only had minor setbacks didn't impact me the way I thought it would've. I tried my hardest to learn a lesson from them, grow from them, and move the hell on, and that's what I've been doing this week.

I just had to complete the newer contracts that I had waiting for me on my desk at the office.

The ding from the elevator wheeled me out of my thoughts and I drawled out a sigh when the doors opened. Instantly, I realized the floor was empty so I assumed Hakeem was still on his lunch break. Despite him being the owner, he took longer lunch breaks than I did so he could "regroup" his thoughts. Idiotic I know.

I pulled out the key from my purse and started to walk to my office doors, when I felt the hair on the back of my neck stand abruptly. I paused in my tracks and when I finally made it to the doorway, I found that the door was creaked open. My heart dropped as my fingers gripped the key in my hand tightly. I was the only one in this building who had the key to my office.

Gulping my anxiety down, I pulled out my pocket knife from my purse and slowly pushed the door open. The lights were off and everything was still in place how I left it before I met up with Savannah. That was until I looked to my conference table and realized that one of the chairs had been moved.

Having enough of the foolery, I turned the lights on, and when I did, I heard someone clear their throat. My head whipped in its direction and I tightened my hold on the pocket knife. When I looked though, my breath hitched in my throat so hard I almost choked. There he sat in front of the huge glass window at the back of my office, staring out of it. The thought of him staring out of the window in my office with the lights off startled me in the utmost of ways, but it also intrigued me.

What the hell was he doing here?

He looked up at me, sending me a devious smirk, and looked me over. I didn't know why the hell he was in my office, but I knew that in the next few seconds I would find out.

"Ms. Robinson, how pleasant it is to see you." He cooed and shivers traveled down my spine at her low and dangerous tone

"Likewise Mr. Anderson, it's just amazing  how I meet you in my office. Mind telling me why you're here?" I asked, walking over to the conference table to sit down

He adjusted himself in the seat and chuckled darkly, making another round of shivers ripple through me.

"You know I had this view back in London. Yet, it wasn't as pretty and lit up as this one. I like it." He pointed out and my eyebrows knitted in confusion

"So you came here without my permission... To look out of my window. Matter of fact, how did you even get in here?" I asked and he finally turned around to look at me, his greyish eyes dark despite the bright lights of the room

"Anything is possible with the right amount of imagination and motivation." He countered, completely dodging my questions and accusations

I didn't have time for this shit.

"Cole, I really don't have time for this shit. This is against every fucking thing both of our companies stand for. What can I do for you so you may leave?" I asked rudely and he abruptly rose from the chair and began stalking his way over to me

Like yesterday, his footsteps were loud and forceful, and I was sure that if I wasn't already sitting, I would've, just by his feet connecting with the hard wooden floor.

When he finally reached me, he sat in the chair in front of me and simply stared at me as if trying to read me. I titled my head to keep my eyes trained on him, and a small smirk soon took over his features. Did he think this was a fucking game?

"Well Navehya, since we're using informalities now, I simply came here to talk to you." He began, watching my body language intently

My name never sounded sultry until he pronounced it and I couldn't help but feel a sudden sense of warmth between my thighs. I shook the thought from my mind, straightened my posture, and cleared my throat again. He wasn't about to come into my office unannounced and practically demand my feelings to act up.

"Well, Cole, there is nothing to talk about. You blindly walked in here without knowing about the meeting your company reached out to me about. This situation is pretty straight forward I'd say." I replied and his smirk deepened slightly, making me want to knock it the fuck off of him

What the hell was his problem?

"Are you happy here Navehya?" He asked suddenly and I felt my blood run cold

It was a question I never anticipated despite everything I've been through with this company, and I'm sure it showed on my face since he gave me a look that told me he could see right through me. He was able to read me beyond the bullshit ass cover I attempted to make, but I didn't give the satisfaction of knowing. I'd be damn if he thought I was one of his employees.

"Mr. Anderson, I don't believe that is your concern, but if you had to know, yes I am happy here. I take ownership of this company full heartedly and I've been for the past three years. Now if that's all you had to ask, you may leave." I replied with an edge, making him sit back in his chair and fully examine me

I felt conflicted under his gaze since I didn't know how to feel, but I didn't let it show, knowing he wanted a reaction. Two could play at that game.

"Alright Ms. Robinson, since you have changed us back to formalities..." He trailed off with a slight teasing tone

"I simply wanted to apologize about the mix up yesterday afternoon, it has been taken care of, so you will not have to worry about me or my company again. Well that would've been the case if your brother hadn't scheduled the met gala at Time Square tomorrow night." He countered with a hint of amusement and I clenched my jaw tightly

Once he noticed my reaction, he rose from his chair and started to walk to the door, but not before looking over his shoulder, calling out to me again.

"You might want to get another lock by the way. The one on the door wasn't one of reliability."

Hi everyone! It was a while before my last update but I took the break to edit the past chapters and they are so much better than the original ones.

What do we think of Navehya and Cole though? We're starting to see more of Cole's true mannerisms but we have yet to see Navehya's. Are you ready for them??
