Meeting with the Witch

The children, the Princess and the beavers hurried back to the main camp where they saw the White Witch being carried by the group of Cyclops on a palanquin.

"Jadis!" The dwarf announced loudly. "Queen of Narnia! Empress of the Lone Islands!"

All of Aslan's creatures jeered as the White Witch and her army arriving at the camp. They were yelling words like 'Go away, Witch!,' 'You don't belong here!,' and boos. Aslan watched calmly awaiting her arrival. The Cyclops laid the palanquin on the ground and the White Witch rose up, revealing her white platinum dress. She walked up to Aslan and gave Edmund a cold glare. Edmund panted nervously, with fear in his eyes. Esther shot a death glare at her 'mother.'

"You have a traitor in your midst, Aslan." The Witch said to the Lion. Lucy looked at Edmund followed by the other children and the Princess. There was an distinctive gasp and chattering by the other Narnian creatures. Esther then turned to her mother with a glare. Her mother ignored her.

"His offense was not against you." Aslan responded calmly but yet firmly. Edmund looked side to side filled with fear and anxiety.

"Have you forgotten the laws upon which Narnia was built?" The Witch asked Aslan.

"Do not cite the Deep Magic to me, Witch!" Aslan said with a little roar. "I was there when it was written." Lucy and Dawn looked at Aslan a little confused. Then Dawn turned to Esther.

"What is he talking about?" Dawn whispered to the Princess.

Esther sighed. "The rules." She answered. Dawn and Lucy nodded.

The Witch smirked at Aslan. "Then you'll remember well that every traitor belongs to me." She said. "His blood is my property."

Esther gasped lightly and placed her arm around Edmund's shoulder. Peter then stepped up and drew his sword at the Witch. "Try taking him then!" He said bravely. She turned her attention towards Peter.

"Do you think that mere force will deny me my right...little King?" The Witch asked him, with a little mocking tone of voice. Peter hesitated and drew back his sword. Dawn shot a death glare at the Witch for daring to insult her boyfriend. The White Witch didn't seem to care. Esther bit her lip as she looked at her mother. But her mother continued her speech.

"Aslan knows that unless I have blood, as the law demands." She turned to face the crowd. "All of Narnia will be overturned and perish in fire and water." Then the Witch pointed at Edmund. "That boy will die on the Stone Table!" Everyone gasped. Edmund was shaken. Esther wrapped her arms around him and held him close. "As is tradition." The Witch finished her speech. "You dare not refuse me."

"Enough." Aslan stopped her. "I shall talk with you alone." He walked inside his tent followed by the White Witch. Everyone was worried, wondering what their plans will be for Edmund. All they had left was to cross their fingers and hope for the best.

"Oh, Edmund!" Esther said worryingly as she leaned on him and held onto his arm. Edmund sighed as he rubbed her hand and Peter walked around nervously. "What do you think they'll do to him?" Dawn asked Peter.

Peter sighed. "I don't know but we just have to pray."

Dawn nodded. "Good idea, Pete." She smiled sadly. Peter nodded back. He and Dawn sat on the grassy ground and prayed for Edmund, while Susan and Lucy were picking on the grass feeling somewhat bored.

"Dear God, please help our brother and friend, Edmund." Peter prayed. "He's been struggling. Our family has been falling apart lately. Please forgive Edmund as he had sinned and forgive us for isolating him too. I ask you to give us strength and help our family get back together. Just help all of us. In Jesus name, amen."

"Amen." Dawn finished. After minutes of waiting and worrying, The White Witch opened the flaps of the tent. The children and the Princess got up and waited for Aslan to come out. The Witch walked back towards her palanquin, staring at Edmund. Aslan walks out of the tent and stood at the edge of the plateau. Edmund breathed heavily while looking at Aslan.

"She has renounced the proclaim of the Son of Adam's blood." Aslan finally announced. Everyone clapped and cheered. Edmund sighed in relief. Esther bit her lip and looked at her father.

"How will I know you will keep your promise?" The White Witch asked. Aslan just roared, causing her to sit back down on her palanquin. The Narnians laughed at the Witch and they continued to applaud and cheer. Lucy hugged Edmund while Peter, Dawn and Susan group hugged. Esther then kissed Edmund on the cheek. The Cyclops lifted their 'Queen' and they went away along with their army. Edmund's cheeks glowed. Esther then had a small vision of the future and gasped lightly.

"What's wrong?" Edmund asked her. Esther brushed it off.

"Nothing." She simply said. Aslan put his head down looking somewhat sad, and walked back into the tent, much to Lucy's confusion.
