Elizabeth comes to Adrien and Marinette with some exciting news about her future. She wants to get married... and Adrien is more than happy to wed the couple in secret.

Marinette and Adrien lived a fairly normal life.
They had a three-year-old son whom was rather rambunctious for his age. He enjoyed getting himself into trouble... or covering himself in dirt and mud. The activity Marinette dreaded the most out of raising a child was having to bathe the little boy so soften, which made the pads of her fingertips constantly wrinkly. Or the fact that he hated baths and tended to drench her in soapy water every time he purposely hit the water to make a splash.
By the time Adrien returned that evening from work, you could only imagine his surprise when he found his wife laying face first on their bedroom floor... a puddle of water beneath her.
"What in the world happened?" Adrien squatted down almost instantly, placing a hand on her back in concern. He lifted his hand slightly when he realized just how soaked her clothing was. "And why are you all soaked?"
"Charles." Marinette muttered in absolute distaste. She loved her son, really she did, but he was such a handful. "I had to bathe him four times today. He keeps getting himself into messes. And since he hates to be bathed, who do you think took the brunt of his tantrums?"
She heard Adrien chuckle, and felt his hand move across her clothed back in soothing circles. "I am sorry, love. Really, I am. Is there anything I can do to help now that I am home?"
"Could you fetch me a towel? Maybe three towels?"
She felt him smile against her skin as he kissed her hair. "Sure thing, my love."
He quickly left the room, intending to help get his wife warm and dry. In the meantime, Marinette slowly sat up from her uncomfortable position on the floor. She squeezed out one of her pigtails, excess water dripping to the wooden floor. When Adrien returned a short time later with three folded towels, he handed one to his wife, who quickly buried her face into the soft material.
Adrien took a seat on the bed, trying to avoid stepping into the puddle that surrounded his wife. She could feel the smile in his words as he said, "I hate to be that person right now, love, but why does it look as if Charles dumped the entire basin over your head?"
"He might as well have." Marinette groaned as she worked to dry her hair next. "Thankfully, the whole tantrum in the bath seemed to tire him out, so he was easy to put down for a nap."
"Wonderful." Adrien leaned down to press a tender kiss to the top of her head. "That he is asleep, I mean. That means we have the evening to ourselves."
Marinette looked up at him, a soft smile pulling at her lips. "Indeed we do."
Adrien matched her smile. "Perhaps you would like to help me cook?"
"You want to prepare something together?" Marinette's smile seemed to stretch at that. Of course, she knew he was offering because it would cheer her up. She always enjoyed doing even the simplest things with him.
He nodded. "I was thinking of being completely irresponsible. So... dessert for supper?"
Marinette happily agreed. In fact, she felt her mood lift in a matter of seconds just at the mere thought of baking something with her husband. Adrien quickly helped her to her feet, granting her privacy to change into clothing more comfortable. When she emerged from their bedroom, her husband was already in the kitchen preparing the meat. She met him with a chaste kiss to the lips. They spent the evening laughing as they prepared the food (and they were also able to fit a food fight somewhere in there too). Needless to say, Marinette had been in the middle of offering one of her finished pastries to Adrien's lips when they heard a knock on the door.
Both Marinette and Adrien looked towards the door, then, they turned to look at each other. "Were you expecting someone?" Adrien asked her, his eyebrows knit in confusion.
Marinette shook her head, matching his confusion, because she was honestly just as confused as he was. She definitely hadn't extended out any invitations, nor did she really feel like hosting and catering to unexpected guests. She was rather having a fun time just spending the evening with Adrien. To have someone ruin it was rather annoying.
A gentle kiss was pressed to her forehead, and she could feel Adrien's smile against her skin. He must've done that because he'd seen her pout. "Worry not. We can cut the visit short, but let us not be rude. We can continue our evening once they leave."
Marinette nodded in a agreement, reluctantly parting from her husband when Adrien pulled away—though, she couldn't deny that was was incredibly tempted to be rude.
She moved towards the door first—but not before Adrien swiped her cheek with his thumb, claiming there was flour coated on her skin. She did the same to him, but instead of his cheek, she found that there was flour on his forehead and a ton of it in his hair. She giggled when she realized his usual color of blonde had turned almost completely white. Even his eyebrows looked as if they'd been coated in snow.
Adrien disappeared into the kitchen to take care of his appearance when he realized he was a bit too messy for company. Marinette continued on to the door, quickly fixing her hair to the best of her ability without a mirror to guide her, before she twisted the doorknob open.
Her eyes widened when she realized just who was standing on her doorstep.
Her eldest sister, Elizabeth, stood before her, dressed in her finest coat. She was sporting a wide smile, her hair pulled up in a high bun and decorated with flowers.
"Elizabeth?" Marinette wasted no time in running forward to embrace her sister in a warm hug, delighted when Elizabeth eagerly returned the embrace. Behind her, another woman whom Marinette instantly recognized as Elizabeth's girlfriend, Sarah, seemed to have joined her. With her head on Elizabeth's shoulder, Marinette shot the other woman a fond smile, which she returned instantly. "What are you doing here? I wasn't expecting you!"
Elizabeth offered her a sheepish smile as she pulled back. "Ah... yes. Well... I do apologize for showing up unannounced. I meant to write to you, but I had wonderful news I could not wait to share. Might we come in?"
"Of course! What kind of question is that? Get inside, both of you!"
Both women chucked at Marinette's enthusiasm as they stepped inside. Marinette quickly closed the door behind them, following them into the living room just as Adrien stepped out from the kitchen with a towel around his neck.
"Ladies." Adrien acknowledged them both with a slight nod, his smile broad. "To what do we owe this pleasure?"
"I am very glad that you are here actually." Elizabeth said to Adrien as she clasped her hands together. "Because we have a favor to ask of you."
His eyebrows rose curiously at that, but he made no comment. Instead, Adrien made his way over to them and settled next to Marinette on the couch, his arm coming around to rest on the back of it behind her shoulders. He folded a leg over the other, his ankle resting on his other knee as he leaned back into the comfort of the cushions.
"Well, I am all ears." He said once he was comfortable beside his wife. "How can I be of assistance?"
Out of the corner of her eye, Marinette watched as Sarah nudged Elizabeth gently in the side with her elbow. Elizabeth instantly cleared her throat. "Well... um..." Her eyes then averted from Adrien's, instead darting to find Marinette's, and within seconds, their gazes were locked. The ravenette frowned slightly, unsure of why her sister was so nervous, but Elizabeth didn't bother to portray what she was feeling through their eyes. Instead, she chose not to break eye contact with her sister as she said, "We were hoping you would be willing to marry us."
Marinette's eyes instantly widened at the news. Elizabeth and Sarah had been secretly in a relationship ever since Charles was born. Evidently, it had to be kept a secret from Aunt—well... at least until they could somehow convince the woman to actually come to terms with accepting the arrangement. But for now, it was a hidden relationship, otherwise it was plausible that Aunt would've kicked Elizabeth out by now. This same fear also applied to Sarah, who was also keeping her relationship hidden from her family.
They had done so well keeping it hidden while remaining happy. It was only a matter of time before this day would come.
Adrien, who had landed himself a job at the factory for building and restoring homes, had also gotten himself certified to wed couples who couldn't get their marriage publicized for whatever reason. Basically, he would marry couples who weren't allowed to be together due to societies' standards. If two people loved each other, but were trapped in separate arranged marriages, he would marry them in secret. If a couple's family disapproved for no validated reason, he would marry them in secret. If two people who loved each other differed in color, he would marry them in secret. If someone wanted to be with someone of the same sex, he would gladly marry them in secret.
Marinette was very proud to call Adrien her husband.
Adrien was already smiling widely when she turned to look at him, and when he suddenly clapped his hands together, everyone in the room jumped. "Finally! I have been waiting for you both to ask me this for a long time now. Of course I will!"
Elizabeth and Sarah instantly exchanged a look of excitement. She turned to meet Adrien's eyes once more. "That is wonderful to hear. Thank you."
Of course, Marinette knew without a shadow of a doubt that Adrien would marry them in a heartbeat. Everyone whom they knew who supported Elizabeth and Sarah's union had been mentally counting down the days.
Adrien was practically beaming. "There is no need to thank me. The honor is all mine. In fact, I would do it in this very living room right now!"
See? In a heartbeat.
"Perhaps not this very second." Marinette chuckled as she grabbed ahold of her husband's shoulder, keeping him rooted in reality and in his own seat. Adrien chuckled sheepishly and rubbed the back of his neck, looking incredibly bashful. She definitely loved her husband's enthusiasm, but no matter how secretive this union had to be, Marinette knew that it was a special occasion and needed to be treated as such. It couldn't be rushed.
Marinette looked up at her sister, and when their eyes connected again, she couldn't help the wide smile that spread across her lips. She was genuinely very excited about her sister's future. Elizabeth had come a long way, and although she was once the devil's spawn back in the day, Elizabeth had learned to love in many different ways. Not only had she learned to love and accept herself, but she had learned to also put love over jealousy.
She also learned to rebel... which Marinette took complete credit for.
And she learned how to follow her own path, despite what anyone else thought upon the matter. She learned to prioritize her happiness.
And now that she was on that path, Marinette wanted to do everything in her power to make sure that no one could ever stop her sister from experiencing true happiness. Because no matter what anyone else thought upon the matter, Elizabeth and Sarah were very happy together. And who was anyone to say that they couldn't find happiness in one another? Marinette could see just how well they complimented each other. She could see the way the two of them laughed with each other. She could see the way their faces lit up whenever they spotted each other from across a room. She could see how well they worked together as a team. Marinette could see just how much they genuinely loved each other.
She could see it. She could see it so clearly. If only the world would be willing to open their eyes a bit more. If only they could see that happiness had no limits... and that love has no bounds. If they could see that, then the world would be a whole lot better.
