Levi's POV

Hanji wasn't here for her math class. I wanted to text her about why she wasn't at school, but since I'm fully covering Mrs. Mason, I can't be on my phone willy-nilly. Once the class had ended, Nanaba walked up with a disappointing look on her face.

"Mr. Ackerman, I know this is just the first day, but can I get a copy of the entire class for the rest of the week?"

"Are you going on a trip or something, Nanaba?"

She shook her head. "No, it's for Hanji."

"What happened to her? Is she on a trip?" She would've told me ahead of time...

Nanaba shook her head, "No, she's suspended from school. It's an in-school suspension, so it's not terrible... sometimes I hate the school rules... she doesn't deserve to be punished."

"Punished? Why did she get a suspension?"

"You... weren't notified?" Notified? What the hell is going on? "Mr. Ackerman... someone took photos of her half-naked while she was in her car on school grounds. I talked to her earlier today and she admitted she was having sex in that car- hence the picture."

I shook my head, collecting another packet for Hanji. "That's stupid."

"I know, right? I didn't know she was dating until that photo came out. When she comes back, she's going to be a laughingstock... she needs a lot of support... even some of the teachers are looking down at her. She was one of the top students at this school... and her name is being ruined by some stupid guy taking the photo."

"How did it circulate?"

"Someone posted it on the school website. But the school took it down, and people kept tagging the school's name and who was in the picture."

Knowing Hanji, she wouldn't cheat on me. I'm guessing I was in the picture too, but the school hasn't talked to me about it. It probably means that my face wasn't shown. She... got in trouble... I should be punished as well. I hope our plans for spring break are still okay.

"Please make sure she's okay."

Nanaba nodded her head, smiling softly. "I will. You're one of the first teachers that haven't looked down at her."

"I believe Hanji isn't a bad person. She's a victim of someone posting those pictures. She didn't do it intentionally." And I know that I could become a victim if my face was shown... "I'll continue giving you the work that needs to be done. Tell Hanji she can email me if she has any questions. I'll see you tomorrow, Nanaba."

She had a small smile as I handed her the work. "Thank you." 

After she left, I wanted to call Hanji up. Now it's lunchtime, I have some time to spare. It took a couple of rings, but Hanji picked up. I could tell she was crying.

"L-Levi?"

"I just heard from Nanaba about what happened... are you okay? Tell me honestly because I know you can't be fine."

"It's just... my dad believes I should be completely pure before I married someone... t-the fact that I lost myself to you... he's been asking me questions about who I was sleeping around with. Levi, I... I want nothing more than to be with you right now... is... is it possible I can live with you?"

"It's possible, but just hold out. Just for now. As soon as you graduate, you're welcome to live with me."

"You promise, Levi?"

"I promise with all of my heart. I just don't want to get into trouble if I have a student of mine living in my apartment. If it wasn't for that, I would tell you to move in with me. Just 5 more months, Hanji... hold on..."

"I'm not allowed to go out... at least for the rest of the month."

"Would you feel better we called every night?"

Hanji whispers yes. "Please do, Levi... I think I'll sleep better..."

"Try to sleep it off, Hanji. I'll call you tonight at 8. Talk to you later..."
