Chapter Four- Beach Fusions

I opened my eyes and looked around. "What the? Where am I?" I asked. I looked over at Steven and he had stars in his eyes (literally).

"What's up man?" I asked. He pointed at me. I looked down and noticed myself. Everything seemed normal. My four arms were there. My face felt normal. Then it hit me.

We fused.

"W-What?!" I exclaimed. "No way!" I created a small wall of water and looked at myself.

I seemed a little shorter... or taller. I wasn't sure. I had my bangs flipped up, like Aventurine's, and the rest seemed to resemble Lapis's. My outfit was a little odd too. A teal ribbon was tied to my neck. The tunic that Aventurine always wore lost the sleeves, and was now teal instead of green. The black pants seemed to fit a little tighter, and an almost transparent white skirt flowed to my knees. I had no shoes on, and my gems were a light shade of teal.

"Who are you?" Steven asked. "And do you know me?" One word seemed to resonate in my head.

Larimar.

"Uh... I think I'm Larimar." I said, looking back at Steven. I looked down at my hands. The upper set seemed more masculine, more defined. The lower set seemed more feminine.

Was I really a fusion?

I could feel myself, losing myself. I gasped as Aventurine and Lapis came apart, and I disappeared.

"Lapis!" I exclaimed. "What was that?!"

She frowned. "We fused! We shouldn't be able to fuse!" She said. "I'm a messenger gem! You're a fighter gem! It's forbidden!"

I put my hand over my gem. "L-Lapis? Do you regret fusing just then?" I asked. Please say no.

"I'm not sure..." Lapis admitted. "I enjoyed fusing, but I'm not sure how I really feel about it. I mean... it's forbidden." She sighed.

I stood up. "Lapis..." I said. She looked up. "This is Earth. Not Homeworld." I said. "Opal is made up of a fighter gem and a servant gem, and she's one of the most powerful gems I know."

Lapis nodded. "I'm sorry Aventurine... I'm just so confused."

I understood completely, but that didn't mean I felt any better about it.

The next morning, I was awoken by Steven. "Hey Aventurine... wanna go get some pizza?" He asked. "What kind?" I asked. He laughed. "Cheese, now c'mon."

Lapis opened the door. "Alright you slowpokes." She said. "We gotta hurry. They opened a few minutes ago, so they'll have a fresh pizza out by the time we get there."

It didn't take long for us to get to Fish Stew Pizza. Kiki, the girl working there, handed us a large cheese pizza. Lapis ate a small slice, Steven took three slices, and I ate the rest. (What can I say? Pizza's good.)

Steven grinned. "You gotta enjoy the simple times in life." He said. The door swung open, and Connie walked in. "Hello Steven, Lapis, and Aventurine."

"Yo." I said, wiping the pizza off my face. "Did you guys see those people walking towards the temple?" She asked.

I frowned. "What do you mean?"

"There was two people walking to the temple. A tall, orange one and a green one." Connie said.

We raced back to the temple, but unfortunately we were too late.

I saw Garnet fighting back against a big, orange gem. She turned and looked at us. "Aventurine! Don't fight Jasper, I can't see you winni-" I watched as Garnet split apart again, due to Jasper's gem destabilizer. "No!" Steven screamed.

I felt something rising in my throat again as I saw them. Peridot and Jasper. Lapis was right. Jasper was huge. I was afraid. Why was I so afraid?

I looked down and saw four gems laying in the sand. A pearl, an amethyst, a ruby, and a sapphire. "Alright. It's time we get rid of these lumpy, clumpy, dirty waste of gems." Peridot said. Jasper nodded and hovered her foot over the gems.

I wasn't even sure what happened next. One second Jasper was gonna destroy the Gems, the next second my patas was out, and Jasper looked angry. Thankfully, she was far away from the Gems.

"You think you can slash that dumb sword at me?!" Jasper yelled. "Who do you think you are?" She growled. Don't back down. Don't back down.

"I'm Aventurine! I'm here to keep you from hurting my friends! Also, its called a patas!" I yelled. Jasper grinned. "If it's a fight you want, it's a fight you'll get."

She charged at me, her crash helmet appearing on her head. Garnet's warning rang in my head. She clearly had said I wouldn't win... but if Steven could get the Gems to safety, then I could make my cowardice up to them. It didn't matter if I did get destroyed.

I had to redeem myself.

I slashed my patas against her chest, sending her back against the wall. She rushed at me, her crash helmet hitting my sword, her fist slamming into my face. I fell back on the ground and groaned.

She pressed her foot down on my gut. "You went down so easily..." Jasper grinned. "You're a waste of my time." She said, pressing her foot down on me. I coughed and struggled to move.

"Don't go anywhere." She laughed. "Once I get rid of those gems... I'll come back and finish you off." She started walking back to the Gems.

I'm sorry Steven... Lapis... Garnet... Opal... I can't get back up.

That's when I felt it. I could feel myself getting stronger. I looked down and saw my gem glow a bright green. "Come at me Jasper! I'm not done yet!" I yelled.

She turned, a creepy grin on her face. "You still want more?" She asked. "Let's go." She rushed at me, the destabilizer extended. I sliced through it with my patas, causing it to explode.

She gasped and looked at her hand. "You little brat!" She swung at me, but I managed to dodge it. I swung back at her, hitting her chest. She flew back and hit Peridot.

Lapis grinned. "It felt so good to finally give you a taste of your own medicine, you brat! She yelled, kicking Peridot. My gem stopped glowing as I approached the two. "What should we do with them?" I asked. Lapis shrugged. "Destroy them and bubble them?"

"I'm not finished with you!" Jasper yelled, knocking us both back. Steven gasped, but Connie held him back.

"Jasper! Plan B!" Peridot said. Jasper grabbed Peridot's fingers and spun her around. "I'll crush you one way or another!" She declared.

The two were enveloped in a blinding white light. Their bodies twisted and took a new shape. She towered over all of us, her body resembling that of Jasper's, but she had a lot of Peridot's body armor. She had two arms, one of which clearly belonged to Jasper, the other one belonging to Peridot.

"Ahahahahaha. AHAHAHAHAHAHA!" She laughed. "Get ready, you puny gems. Andalusite is here!" She yelled.
