Geography:

The kingdom of MERIDIAN is stretching from the mist-covered mountains in the north to the sun-drenched plains in the south. The kingdom's landscape is defined by its magical forests, where ancient, enchanted trees are said to hold the knowledge of centuries, and its crystal-clear lakes, believed to have magical powers. The Whispering Wood, a dense forest in the east of the kingdom, is both revered and feared. It is said that the forest speaks to those with magical abilities, offering them guidance whenever needed. Many believe this forest holds the key to the kingdom's magical power, but few dare to explore its depths.

Society and Politics:

MERIDIAN is a monarchy ruled by King Boun, the second oldest son of the former king and the one with the strongest magical powers among the three brothers, inherited by his bloodline. The magic of the royal family is tied to the land itself, ensuring the prosperity and protection of MERIDIAN. 

The Council of Elders is the political body that rules alongside the King. These elders come from noble families, but some seats are reserved for those with exceptional magical talent, regardless of birth. Advisors like Prem are chosen not only for their wisdom but also for their ability to help balance the King's magic.

Magic:

Only a few people in Meridian possess magical abilities. The royal bloodline Boun and his brothers' descent is far more powerful and tied to the emotions of the wielder.

Boun's magic is closely tied to his emotions. Strong emotions - such as love, anger, or despair - can increase his power but they can also make it uncontrollable.

His love for Prem is not only forbidden but also dangerous because it impacts his magic, which could make it a threat to everyone in the kingdom.

Every member of the royal family has their own crystal.

Boun's impending marriage to Princess Priya of Andross, is a political alliance meant to strengthen the kingdom and produce an heir, solidifying the royal bloodline and the magic in it. However, his hidden love for Prem creates an internal conflict, that begins to influence said magic. Boun's inability to control his magic when Prem is near becomes a danger to himself and others. The political pressure to produce an heir as soon as possible amplifies the already existing tension, as the kingdom depends on the stability that an heir would bring.

King Boun: (29) 

A young, emotionally conflicted king with immense magical powers. Even though he is only the second born of three sons, he is the most powerful among them.

He is a strict but kind King and is loved by his people.

King Boun's most loyal servant, an orphan without any magical abilities
