I looked left and right when I heard the shots go off, I heard her.

I was just hoping it wasn't her who got shot, I was hoping she wasn't alone. Everything went quiet after the shooting, I couldn't hear anything on the other side of the wall. My arms were tied back to this chair and my legs were stuck against the chair legs.

I began to grunt, I tried and tried to gain attention from whoever was at the other side of the wall but it was hopeless. I looked down at the floor but finally the wall burst open.

"I knew she didn't look closely." Liam chuckled and rushed over to me, he untied my hands and allowed me to untie my mouth as he let my legs free.

"Thank you." I state as I rub my mouth.

"Jayden thought you were dead, they've gone back to the mansion but I knew I should stick around." A smirk appears on his face, Jayden really thought I was dead? I stand on my two feet and follow Liam back outside. I was happy that the sun wasn't out because if it was my eyes would ache at the sight.

I sat in the range rover and watched outside of the window as the trees brushed passed quickly.

The mansion finally came into view and I found myself smiling. We exited out of the car and I jogged up to the main door, opening it so it made a loud sound, but no one came running.

I walked up the stairs and walked into my little sisters room, I looked at her and took a seat next to her on her bed. She wasn't looking at the door but was looking away.

"Hey, Liv." I state and she almost jumps out of the bed, she turns and hugs me so tightly my organs begin to squeeze together.

"I missed you!" She exclaims and I said it back, I hug her tightly as we spoke for a little bit, I was of course going to leave out all of the gory details to what had happened to me, but I think the black eye proved just what had happened.

I walked away from my little sisters room as she fell fast asleep. We hugged and spoke, she told me that she didn't tell mum I went missing, but told her that I wasn't well. She didn't want to worry her and make her feel worse when she's on her journey to getting better. I thanked her.

I sighed and walked to Jayden's room, I put my ear against the door and heard whimpers echoing through the wood. I sighed and opened the door to reveal Jayden who is curled up into a ball.

I walk closer and closer until I'm finally sitting behind her, holding her, cuddling her.

"Jayden?" I question and she turns to me with the mascara dripping down her face.

"Y–you're alive?" She asks and I chuckle.

"Of course I'm alive."

She pulled me in for a tight hug and I hugged her back, holding her close to my chest. She was still crying at this point but I was stroking her hair to show her comfort.

"I don't want to be in this mafia anymore Elijah. Please, take me away from it all." She begs, I nod and pull her closer to me, she's in the wrong frame of mind at the moment. I'm sure she doesn't mean it, but if she did. I'd grant her wish. I love her, and it'll always be her.

2 months later:

Two months have passed, slowly of course. But during those months I had promised Jayden that night I'd marry her and yesterday is what I did. I married the woman I love and I also granted her wish.

We were living in another city. Liv didn't want to come with us, she wanted to stay with our mum who is doing better and continue her studies. But here I am standing in front of the mirror staring, and soon after I feel a warm pair of arms wrap around my bare torso.

"Good morning, my husband." She smiles at me as she looks into the mirror, and I have noticed her leaving the mafia has changed her for the better. She's this new woman who lives her life to the limit. Max has taken over and he honestly makes such a good leader.

I smile back at her and reply, "Good morning, my wife." I turn around and hold her by her arms, I kissed the top of her head and now was happy with the life we were living.

Who knew this could all happen from witnessing a murder?
