Chapter 8 ♡Jewelry♡
Awase's POV
The marketplace here was fairly busy yet it was good that it wasn't too crowded. I made sure to keep hold of Momo's hand or else I'm done for if I lost her. Although now that I think about it....DOESN'T THAT MAKE US LOOK LIKE WE'RE A COUPLE???
....probably not....I think.
I lowered my hat a bit over my eyes so that not a lot of people would recognize my face easily but at the same time, I can still see.
We both just continued to walk from stall to stall, so far not causing much attention to the people around us.
As we were walking, I felt myself getting tugged by the arm and looked at Momo, only to see her eyes laid on some jewelry.
I looked over at what she was looking at and saw a beaitiful pink jewel necklace.
"It's so pretty, Yosetsu..!" She said.
I smiled softly, "Yeah it really is. Do you want it?"
She looked at me with a brow raised, "Are you sure?? I mean, I don't need it though--"
"Nonsense, I'll buy it for you." I smiled.
"Are you absolutely sure, Awase?" She asekd one more time.
I nodded.
The vendor of the stall looked at us and said, "Ah, it seems you both would like this necklace. Are you two in a relationship?"
The princess and I blushed, ustered and just shook our heads as a no.
"N-No we're not sir, I just want to buy this for her. She seems to like it so I want her to have it." I nervously replied.
He chuckled, "Alright then."
The price of the necklace was terribly high, way more expensive than I thought, but what was even more surprising was how much the miney was enough to buy the necklace and even got to save quite enough coins for other necessities.
The vendor gave me the necklace and Momo and I left the stall, waving at the man.
"Yosetsu, you really didn't had to do that. Besides, I have lots of jewelry back at home anyways." She whispered to me in worry.
I chuckled softly and smiled, whispering her back, "I know that, but I thought that it would be great if you had souvenir on your first travel that didn't had any particular events. Like your first time travelling as choice rather than being told to do so."
She looked at me with awe and was now blushing with shy smile, "You're a very sweet guy, Awase."
I was now flustered and nervously laughed, "I-It's nothing."
I told her that I would keep the necklace in my bag for a bit so that she can put it on when we are out of the village.
We both continued to visit stall to stall until we heard out a louf cry from someone.
"Hey!! That dude stole our money!!!" A guy with red hair and a denim vest shouted, pointing at a gut whose face was covered with black slik and was running through everyone in the crowd.
Then, the Dragon King, Katsuki Bakugou, yelled out to the thief, "YOU BASTARD, GET BACK HERE!!!!"
So the red-haired man must be Eijirou Kirishima, the king's dragon.
Yaoyorozu had herself hiding behind me with hee arms clinging onto my left arm.
The criminal was now running towards the path we are in.
I didn't want to cause so much of an attention, but I guess I can do it withiut attracting some audience.
The thief was just evily laughing as he pushed a few people out of his way. He was running very close to our side which gave me the chance.
I saw that the taken money was in that small brown pouch that was hung around his belt behind him. Once he ran past me and Momo, I immediately grabbed it behind him without him knowing.
I quickly shoved the pouch to my pocket and decided to try to find King Bakugou and Kirishima so I can return it.
You might be wondering why I wouldn't just steal it, it's because I don't stealmoney so often. I do it when it's needed, but not when I have enough to buy our necessities.
Princess Momo noticed that I took the pouch from the thief and whispered to me,"Yosetsu...did u just-"
"Don't worry, I'll give it back to the king." I said with a reassuring smile.
I grabbed her hand so that we can make our way to the barbarian whose money was stolen.
"That *beep*ing thief took our money!!" He sweared under his breath.
"Calm down angry king, we can just find a way to get our moneh back bit for now, you have to calm down first." Kirishima calmed him down.
"Here." I threw the small pouch to them and the dragon shifter clumsily caught it.
He opened the pouch and saw that every bit of their money was still in it.
The duelist Kirishima was shocked, "W-What?? Wait a minute, how did you--"
"That's none of your business, at least you got your moneh back, your highness. Have a good day." I said and we both walked away.
"Hey you." The barbarian called me.
Welp....looks like this is the end of my life right now.
"Yeah?" I asked.
"You look familiar..have we met before?" He asked wih his glares all onto me.
"I don't think so. A man like me wouldn't think there would be a chance to meet someone as high rank as yours." I answered.
I now finally was walking off with Momo as her face was dug deeo into my shoulder so no one would see her face entirely.
We both then exit the village and continued to stay back on track to our journey, letting out sigh of reliefs once we were as far as possible from the village we were just in.
"That was close." I said.
"Do you think Bakugou knew you already just by that trick you did??" The peincess asked me as she let the hiod of her cloak fall down behind her head.
"Possibly, but I hope he doesn't think too much about it. Anyways, let's just go already. We've bought enough, so let's continue." I smiled.
She smiked back and nodded with excitement, "Let's do it! Oh and Yosetsu.."
"Yeah?"
She walked towards me and gave me small kiss on the cheek.
My face was burning up as I lightly placed my hand over the kissed cheek with a shocking expression.
"T-Thank you for the necklace, you didn't had to buy me that but you still did. Thank you." She softly smiled.
I shyly smiled back, "It's not a problem princess, I'll make sure you're as happy as ever on this trip."
