Katie blinked and then she was in the interviewing room again.

" Nice job Gunderson." The guard said and gave her a pat of the back.

Katie walked back into the waiting room with the guard on her tail and sat between Lucas and Brandon to hear the news.

" All of you did well in the test but there was only one who went past our expectations. We will announce the top two tomorrow with the sparring event after that. "

The guard broke out in a grin, " You are done with the mental test now, you may go to rest."

They all got up slowly, exhausted from the test, and went back into their room.

Brandon immediately went to his bed to sleep while Lucas and Katie sat on the couch by the bookshelf to study some more. Katie studied moves for the spar just in case she was in one of the top 2 and Lucas fell asleep scanning through a logic book.

Eventually she stopped and went to her bed to sleep.

"Mom..Dad..Matt.." She whispered to herself before going into dreamland.

                                                          ***

Keith got ready to watch the sparring event in the morning after Lance waltzed into his room and told him to prepare,

 " They're about to start so hurry." He said before waltzing back out.

Keith scoffed but found himself excited to see who would win.

They walked to the ballroom, where they usually held balls and parties, and sat down on their reserved seats.

Keith turned to the two remaining men and was relieved to still see the short boy and pale man talking while the cheater was missing.

                                                         ***

Soon the guard was announcing their scores on both tests.

" Gunderson, 100 on your physical and 97 on your mental."

He paused for a moment.

" Gallagher, 79 on your physical and 90 on your mental."

" Yikes." Katie heard Lucas whisper under his breath. She smiled and pat his shoulder to reassure him.

" Gunderson is in the lead but Gallagher could win the whole thing if he wins the spar. The Royal Majesties are also watching so do your best."

Lucas and Katie both walked to their spots. Lucas gulped but on the other hand, Katie was confident that she was gonna win. They both nodded and wished luck to each other.

Katie took in a deep breath and closed her eyes waiting for the start whistle.

When she opened her eyes, the whistle blew and she ran to Lucas full speed. 

He blocked her with a punch to the face and it snapped her head to the direction of a specific part of the audience.

Then she saw familiar faces. A man with brown hair and teasing blue eyes. 

' Lance...!?'  

She thought and then another man caught her attention. 

With his long raven hair and striking purple amethyst eyes, it was kinda impossible to miss him.

' Is that Keith..?!!! '
