Katie fell on the cold ground with a quiet sound when her family went through her fingers and soldiers with the Kogane Kingdom crest appeared instead.

" What..?" Katie asked and turned around to see her family standing on the opposite end of the soldiers.

" Choose wisely.." The guard said to her and Katie stood up carefully to face her choices.

She took a long look at her family to remember how they looked like when they were still together and then finally turned to the soldiers that she would be working with.

She turned towards her family but suddenly hesitated to go towards them.

'No. I am Pidge Gunderson now.'

She thought with tears in her eyes and went to the soldiers without turning back to her family.

The lights turned back on and Katie blinked a few times to get her eyes used to it. 

She saw soldiers beating poor elders and children up once her vision cleared. She gasped and quickly ran between the soldiers and the citizens.

" Stop!" She shouted and the soldiers looked at her wide eyed,

 " Why? These children stole food and these elders tried to defend them even when they did something wrong."

Katie glared at the soldiers angrily and glanced at the poor citizens that were on the ground.

" Don't you see what you're doing here!? These people are wearing rags and have barely any money to feed their families!" 

" But sir, they were stealing.." One soldier said nervously and Katie stared daggers at him and said,

 " They wouldn't be stealing if we had given them better treatment!"

The soldiers shrank down in fear and obedience while Katie helped up the kids and elders. They dusted themselves off and the children wiped their tears after getting money from Katie. They said their thanks and happily walked away with a stumble or two.

Katie sighed and turned to the soldiers, " I'm sorry for my outburst but please don't do this again and I know that you were only doing what you thought as right but I promise you, beating someone up will not solve the problem they caused."

The soldiers nodded in agreement at their fear of her.

" Good." She said and grinned at them, " Now get back to patrol."

They saluted at her and wandered back in the village.

Katie sighed and thought, ' Isn't this just a test? Why did it seem so real..?'

" Speaking of tests," Katie thought aloud, " I'm pretty sure I failed this one."

The darkness came back and fireworks lit up the room.

'Wha-" Katie said and looked up.
