Before Katie knew it, a day has passed and it was time for the mental test and the maid was telling them to get ready.

Brandon grumbled from his bed while Katie and Lucas rushed to get dressed.

He eventually got up and changed while the they ate breakfast at the dining table.

The guard met them over a meeting room individually and started asking questions.

Katie shivered as it was her turn to go in but Lucas walked out of the door with a reassuring smile.

" Don't worry, just focus on your main goal." He told her as soon as she got up and she gave him a quick smile before walking in the room.

" Hey!" Keith said as Lance grabbed his arm and led him to a room.

" What-" Keith started but Lance shushed him and pointed down against the window.

" Just listen.."

Keith looked down and saw the head guard talking to a certain short boy with feminine features.

" Why bring me here?" Keith asked beside him and Lance shrugged and said, " It's no fun watching alone."

Keith glared at Lance for the bad excuse but Lance was too busy to notice. He sighed and turned his attention back to the window.

The guard started with questions that were easy to answer and ones that Katie knew from memory.

Then came other questions that were harder but Katie answered them all without hesitation.

" Good." The guard said, " Now..Let's see where your loyalties lie.."

Katie put on a device on her head and was told that it could read her mind. She closed her eyes and then opened them again to find darkness.

Her eyes widened in surprise until she heard the guard's booming voice over the place her mind was in.

" Don't worry, you will just go through a few tests. These are just what the device read in your mind."

His voice disappeared and she saw her family standing there in front of her.

" ..Mom..Dad..Matt..? "

Lance's eyes widened when tears started to come out of the short boy's eyes. Keith grimaced as the boy started shaking with sobs and wanted to tell the guard to stop.He also knew that Lance wanted to run down there and comfort the poor boy but all they could do was watch.

They both sighed of relief when the tears stopped but panicked when the boy fell on the ground.
