Katie didn't scream or shout because she knew she would just blow her cover if she did, so instead, she blocked her head with her arms and closed her eyes.

She was very surprised when she landed in someone's arms instead of hitting the ground.

" Are you alright?" The person asked and Katie opened her eyes finding blue indigo eyes staring back at her.

She jumped out of his arms and looked away from him when she realized she recognized him and he too seemed to find her familiar.

 Katie answered Lance in a rough voice before she lost her boy cover, " Yeah.. um.. I think I'm okay." 

Lance looked confused and squinted at her, " Do I know you?"

She smiled sheepishly attempting to make a joke, " Do you say this to every person that you catch falling from a tree? You won't know me."

Lance grinned and amusement crossed his face, " Are you sure I don't know you?"

Katie forced a laugh, " Positive."

Shiro and Hunk came over to them and stared at Lance and Hunk whispered to Katie, " Who's he?"

" La-" Katie started out loud but stopped herself, " I mean a person who just saved my bones.."

" I'm Lance." He said and smiled at the boys, " Would you know any 'Katie Holt' here?"

Katie froze but quickly thawed herself out when Lance's eyes landed on her.

" Um..Oh! That Katie Holt?" Hunk answered for them both, " I heard that she moved to another Kingdom after the tragedy."

Katie glared at Hunk for the excuse of her leaving her mother alone but she and Shiro nodded their head.

Lance glanced at them suspiciously but he smiled to himself and threw his arms out,

 " Well! That can't be helped.. Thank you for your time!" He held his hand out for her to shake and she slowly took it and said, 

" I guess this is when I thank you now for catching me.."

Lance smirked, " Perhaps.. But first your name?"

Katie stammered, " My name is Ka-Pidge..!"

Lance's lips turned upward, " Kapidge?"

Her face heated up and she quickly answered him, " No just Pidge..!"

" You're welcome then, Pidge.." He said and big relief came to Katie.

He faked a salute and walked away saying, " See you!"

Hunk nervously glanced at Katie, " Do you think he bought it?"

Katie frowned, " Probably if he believed that I am a boy.." She slapped his back without mercy, " Now let's talk about that excuse."

Hunk whimpered, " Let's not.."

Shiro turned to watch Lance get smaller and smaller, " Why do you think he was asking for you?"

Katie shrugged, " I don't know but I'd rather not find out."

Lance glanced back at them to find them talking together and thought,

' They're definitely lying..'
