My scream indicated the start of the fight. At first, me and Thalia tried to run together, just with a clear wall in between us. However, I think the maze realized this(as crazy as it sounds) and split off, forcing me and Thalia to go in separate directions. My eyes focused on the bright sunlight and I sized up the creature in front of me. He was not that big, now that I think of it. Just six feet tall, orange, and bad case of bad breath. Note to self: brush my teeth more. He roared in my face. So I did the natural thing. I roared back.
"Hey there, pretty boy!!! You think you can handle me?" The creature roared again and I'm pretty sure he looked even angrier then before. He charged towards me with all his might, which is what I exactly wanted him to do. Although he was only 6 feet, he was much larger than I was. I compressed in a tiny ball and roller between his legs. Worst decision I ever made, let me tell you. But it seemed to work do everything was ok. I quickly got up to my feet and turned towards the big Guy's back. I quickly stabbed him there, and this time, he collapsed to the ground.
"Mission accomplished, bad breath"
I ran forward, following the edge of the wall. I ran into a few mishaps, but I managed to run into Thalia. Which meant only one thing. We were closer to the middle of the circular maze. I broke into a grin when I saw Thalia. Then I actually saw her. She looked terrible. Parts of her braid was falling out and she had dirt smeared across her face. Blood was trickling from her temple.
"Yeah, you look much better than I do." She said. I nodded. "What happened?" She didn't answer me. She was looking behind me. I turned around and gasped. "Not again" I whispered. This bad boy was at least 16 feet tall, and a truck wide. Just looking at it made me tremble. He looked at me and charged. I moved out of the way, and he pulled up five trees in each hand. I ran towards the back side of the monster and stabbed him, but it wasn't enough. It seemed to only anger him. He ran towards Thalia, and shoved a claw towards her. She acted quickly. She ran towards me, sword ready, and chopped off the thing's claw. The monster seemed to like Thalia more than me. Or should I say, hate her more than me. He ran towards her but she escaped just in time. I turned around, trying to find a way out. Suddenly, I heard a shriek behind me. Somehow, Thalia's sword was behind the monster, away from reach. She was crouched down, and before I can process what I was seeing, the monster ripped Thalia's leg.

So much blood. So much blood the monster took of Thalia. Thalia couldn't do anything, now that he hurt her leg. This just angered me. The monster ran towards her, but I pulled her out of the way just in time. "You want this?!!!" I shouted. I pulled Thalia up on my shoulder as bait. "Sorry" I whispered in her ear. The monster looked at us and roared. He lowered his head to hit us with his gigantic horns and I took that as a cue. With Thalia, I jumped on the monster's back. He stood up, yelling, and my sword fell from my hand. Just my luck. Thalia was loosing consciousness. She still had the claw gripped tight in her hand. I tried to pull it out, but she wouldn't budge. "Come on Thalia, give me the claw!!!" She just looked at me. I finally managed to pull out a bloody nail out of the claw as Thalia crumpled of the monster to the ground, completely unconscious. I took the nail and stabbed it into the monster's eye, and when he lowered to the ground, I took the nail and brought it to his heart.
The monster was dead.

I pulled out the nail, all covered in blood, to claim my victory. I carried Thalia in one hand and my claw in the other as I walked through the large gaits.

Just before I collapsed.
