(I am seriously struggling to continue writing this story. As I'm publishing chapter two, I have 18 chapters done and 19 started but the struggle is real. XD Leave some feedback for what you think so far though. :) )

It had been two days since everything had happened. Paityn had been released and learned a bit more about Grimm from Nick. Although she was about to see her Aunt Marie for the first time considering she wasn't able to when she first arrived. 

Paityn had her crutches ready as she waited beside Hank. Hank looked at her and chuckled a bit. 

"What's so funny?" She asked. He shook his head. 

"Nothing. You're just small." He said and she playfully whacked him against the head. 

"Shut up you bum!" She laughed and Nick walked out. 

"So, they find anything wrong with you?" Hank asked. 

"Just a few toxins in the blood," Nick said. She looked at him confused. 

"Wait, what? what did I miss out on?" Paityn asked. 

"Shit. I went to visit Aunt Marie but this woman came in and she injected me with apparently spider toxin or something like that." Nick said. She hit his arm. 

"Why did you tell me this?" She said. 

"Because I didn't want you to worry." He said giving her a small smile. She made a humph sound and continued walking beside them. 

"Wait so were they toxins that could kill you?" Hank asked. 

"Hah. Unfourtnetly not it seems." Paityn chuckled and Nick shook his head with a small smile on his face. 

"You gonna be alright?" Hank asked. Nick paused for a moment to look at himself and then at Hank. 

"Well, how do I look?" He asked. 

"like..."Paityn started but Nick looked at her quickly. 

"Don't finish that sentence." He said. 

"You look like a cop that's been working all night," Hank said. 

"That's funny. That's what you look like Hank." Nick said smiling. 

"Well, then you look good." Hank smiled proudly. They made it to her room and Nick was stopped by a nurse. 

"What's wrong? Is everything okay?" Nick asked. 

"She's not stable right now. We can let you in after we do a few tests." She said. Paityn looked through the glass as she shut it and her aunt made eye contact with her before shutting her eyes. 

Abruptly her captain was walking behind them making her jump as he positioned guards to her door. 

"How is she?" He asked Nick.

"I, I don't know. She came out of the coma but they're still running tests." He said. Paityn leaned against the wall letting her leg rest a bit. Nick and the Captain got into a conversation about when the attack happened but she didn't pay attention. She just needed to let her leg rest from the walking. 

"How are you holding up Paityn?" Sean asked her. She looked at him. 

"I'm doing the best I can." She said giving him a small smile. He nodded and they all began walking back to the precinct to view some security tapes.

They were at the precinct watching the videos. They slowed it down so that way they could see the feed better and Nick was watching very intently. Suddenly he quickly points to the screen. 

"There. That's her." He said. The captain leaned in a bit to look at it. 

"I don't think we're gonna get much if we can only see the back of her head, Nick," Paityn said. 

"Yeah. Let us know if you find something we can work with." Sean said before heading to his office and shutting the door. Nick looked at the screen disappointed and Hank sighed. 

"Dude, what did your aunt do to piss off so many people? She work for the government or something?" Hank asked. Suddenly a cop walked over to them explaining about a person that had a DUI and said her boyfriend was attacked. 

Hank and Nick scooted their chairs back to examine the girl while Paityn was stuck doing paperwork. Captain Renard didn't want her in fieldwork for a while and her doctors agreed with him. She filled out form after form while Nick and Hank went to go investigate the girl. They ended up having to go to a house in the middle of the woods. Paityn quickly stood up going to Nick and hugging him gently. 

"Be safe." She said quietly. He hugged her back gently and kissed her head. 

"I will. I promise." He said. "And you have to stay off your feet." He smiled letting go of her and joining back up with Hank and Gilda. She sat back down in her chair continuing the paperwork and signing them. 

"Need any help?" Someone asked from behind her. She turned around seeing one of their new cops. His name was Liam Argent. 

"No. No, I'm good. This keeps me occupied. No need to worry." She gave him a reassuring smile. 

"Okay. Just let me know if you need help." He winked at her before walking away. Sean came over pretty fast over by her side. 

"How's the paperwork going?" He asked. She looked at him relaxing a bit. 

"It's going good. I've got a small pile of things that are done." She pointed to them and he took them quite fast beginning to walk away.

Eventually, Nick, Hank, and Gilda came back but they went straight into an interrogation. She tried to stand up but Liam came back pushing her back down. 

"Nope. If I remember correctly you can't be doing too much movement with your leg." He said. She looked at him glaring a bit. 

"If I remember correctly you're a cop. Not my dad." She growled. He glared back at her for a moment but softened his look. 

"Stay. You have paperwork." He said. 

"I have a brother." She said trying to get him away but he wouldn't budge. Her heart began racing a bit and she knew her looks began showing it as he smirked. 

"I don't care. You can't move. Get working..." He started but Sean came back over. 

"Is there a problem Argent?" He asked. He walked behind her placing his hands on the back of her chair protectively. Liam looked at Paityn and then at Sean. When he didn't move for a moment she glanced over to the interrogation room hoping Nick would walk out. 

"No. Nothing is wrong. Just checking in with her." He said and he walked away. Quickly she relaxed under the presence of Sean and she turned her chair around looking at him. 

"Thanks." She said. She looked up at him to see he was fuming. His face was bright red and his hands were in fists. "Captain? Are you okay?" She asked concerned. 

"Fine." He said through clenched teeth. He walked away as Hank walked out of the room with Wu. 

"Everything alright?" Hank asked her. She nodded. 

"Yeah. The captain is just a bit upset today." She said with a small smile. Hank nodded and walked out of the room and down the stairs standing and waiting. Nick walked out of the room after talking with Gilda and Paityn looked at him. She watched him walk out of the room to Hank and she looked at her leg. She grabbed her crutches and started to carefully stand up.

"Paityn." She heard Liam say. She looked at him. 

"Bathroom idiot." She growled. She carefully began going to the bathroom and she went in going back to a mirror. "Dammit. Come on Paityn. You can do this. You can. You're not weak." She said. 

"You sure about that?" She heard someone say behind her. She saw Liam in the mirror and she turned around about to scream when he covered her mouth. "Shh. Don't worry. I'm not gonna hurt you. At least not too bad." He smirked and she paled and she grabbed her phone out of her pocket and started recording everything. "I'm going to torment you. I'm going to make your life such a living hell, you'll have no choice but to quit your job. and then I'm going to take your position and take everything you've worked for. It's all gonna just go down the toilet."

Her heart was racing a million miles an hour. Tears kept pouring down her face in fear and he smirked seeing the level of power he had over her. She was shaking like a leaf as she held the phone. 

"I'll see you later. Paityn." He said removing his hand and walking out. She collapsed to the ground as tears fell down her face and she ran her hands through her hair scared out of her wit's end. Eventually, she broke down sobbing on the ground for at least 10 minutes. When she gained enough courage to get up and calm down she quickly threw cold water at her face to calm down. 

She grabbed her crutches and went back to her desk continuing to file out paperwork. Within 5 minutes of doing paperwork, Nick came up looking for her. 

"Paityn. Aunt Marie wants to see us." He said. She grabbed her crutches going over to him as fast as she could wanting to get out of the office and fast.

"She's very weak, but I realize you may not have much time." The nurse said bringing them over to her. Nick walked in with Paityn behind him.

"Paityn. How have you been?" She asked her and Paityn sat down beside her taking her hand. 

"I've been better. I thought I wasn't going to see you again." Paityn said. Her aunt chuckled a bit.

"Not yet you haven't." She gave her a small smile. "I'm assuming Nick already told you about us?" She asked. Paityn nodded. 

"Yeah. We're the last Grimms. He's told me a bit." Paityn said. 

"Good. There is a reason you're both cops. You need to hunt down the bad ones. All of the bad ones." She said. She flinched in pain for a moment and Nick went to go get a doctor. "No. The reapers followed me here. That means there could be more." She said. 

"How many are there?" Nick asked. He looked at her shocked. 

"Nobody knows. They're a secret organization meant for killing us." She said. 

"Wait, Grimm? There are more than just us three?" Paityn asked. 

"Yes. I don't have contact with any of them though." She said weakly. She was losing strength fast. 

"But what about the things we're seeing. How many of those are there?" Nick asked. 

"There are more in the books then I've seen. You must not let the trailer be found. They don't know it exists." She said. Paityn looked at Nick. 

"Trailer? What trailer?" She asked. 

"I'll explain later," Nick said. Marie took a deep breath.

"I hope I haven't done more harm than good coming to you." She said. Suddenly she started having difficulties breathing and Paityn let go of her hand as the Nurse came in getting them out of the room so she could rest. Nick looked at Paityn and he wrapped his arms around her gently. He swayed a bit trying to shush her seeing the tears in her eyes. 

"I'm scared," she whispered. Nick nodded. 

"I know. I am too. But we have to stay strong. For her." He said and Paityn nodded holding him close to her scared out of her mind.

They walked outside seeing Hank sitting on the roof of the car. 

"How's she doing?" Hank asked. He got off the hood as we neared the car doors. 

"Well, she's dying of cancer and has had two attempts made at her life. Other then that she's doing alright." Nick said sadly as he got into the car. They shut the doors as all three of them got in. 

"She is one tough lady," Hank said in awe. 

"You have absolutely no idea," Paityn said leaning back in her seat. 

"We're gonna drop you off back at the station before we head back to the scene," Nick said. Paityn looked at Nick shocked.

"No!" She yelled out abruptly. They both turned to look at her confused. "I'm, I'm just tired. Can you drop me off at home instead?" She asked. Hank nodded. 

"Yeah, that would probably be the better idea," Hank said starting the car beginning to drive to her house.

It was the next day and Paityn was sitting on her couch at home letting her leg relax a bit when her phone went off. She grabbed it seeing it was an unknown number. She answered it quickly just in case it was an emergency.

"Detective Burkhardt." She said. It was Nick.

"Hey, I'm gonna be at your house in 5 minutes. I need you to meet someone." He said. Paityn sighed. 

"Okay. I'll meet you out there. Just give me a moment. I'm as slow as a turtle at the moment." She said. 

"Well, actually there are some turtles that are quite fast you know." He said. 

"And you only know this because your girlfriend is a veterinarian. I'll see you soon." She smiled and hung up the phone shaking her head. Within moments she was outside waiting for Nick. He pulled up and she got in carefully. 

"Who is this person I'm going to meet today and why?" She asked. 

"His name is Monroe. He's a blutbad." Nick said. Paityn nodded. 

"Big bad wolf kinda dude." She said nodding a bit. "I got you." She smiled and he smiled back. 

"Without out the big bad." He said as he started driving.

They knocked at the door twice before a man answered the door. She looked at him as her crutches kept her upright. 

"We need to talk," Nick said. 

"Not at six-thirty in the morning we don't. And who's this?" He asked motioning to Paityn. She stuck her hand out for him to shake. 

"My name is Paityn. I'm his sister." She said. He shook her hand carefully. 

"Ah. That makes sense." He said. 

"This is important," Nick said going in his house without permission. 

"Oh, well, come on in then. Have a cup of coffee. Bagel? Cream cheese?" Monroe asked. 

"Nick you could've at least waited another hour. It is early." She said. 

"I agree with her," Monroe said. 

"Well, first I want to thank you for helping with the kidnapping. And helping save my sister." Nick said motioning to Paityn who smiled a bit. 

"A gift basket would've been nice," Monroe said. 

"I can make that happen," Paityn said smiling. 

"How long is this gonna take I'm right in the middle of my pilates?" Monroe asked. Nick walked up to him holding the brown tissue paper. 

"Have you ever seen one of these?" He asked. Monroe took it giving him the 'really?' look as well as an irritated glance before taking it out shocked. 

"Not up close thank god." He said smelling it. "I think Jagerbars use these for disemboweling. Now I'm hungry." He said giving it back to Nick roughly. Sure you don't want a bagel?" He asked as he walked to the kitchen. 

"I'm good. Thanks." Paityn said. Nick followed him not even answering him.

"What do you know about Jagerbars?" He asked. 

"Nick, give the guy some space to breathe," Paityn said following him in getting tired due to this being quite a bit of movement. "Do you have a stool I can use for a moment?" She asked. Monroe brought her over a chair and she smiled gently nodding in thanks as she carefully sat down. 

"What am I? Your personal Grimmopedia?" He asked sarcastically. 

"No, you're a blutbad. And I'm assuming that Blutbaden know about Jagerbaden?" Nick said not sure how to pronounce anything. 

"It's just Jagerbars." He said awkwardly. 

"Well, you see them like we see them right?" Nick asked. Monroe nodded simply. "Hey, I'm just trying to figure out what I'm up against here," Nick said sighing. 

"Right there. Don't even compare the two. We don't rummage like they do." Monroe said. "How'd you run across a Jagerbar anyway?" 

Paityn looked around his house finding this conversation a bit boring and unneeded as well as feeling bad for Monroe since we interrupted him at 6 in the morning. Suddenly Nick put down his coffee and began leaving abruptly. 

"Oh, thanks for stopping by," Monroe said sarcastically. She tried to stand but her leg wasn't handling movement the best making her yelp. Monroe turned to look at her. "Hey, are you okay?" He asked. She nodded. 

"Yeah. I'm fine just hurt my leg. And I'm also pretty sure Nick just forgot about me." She said. Monroe sighed looking at the Coffee he just left on the counter. "If it helps I'll drink it." She offered. Monroe smiled a bit and grabbed it for her and she gently took it from his hands sipping it. "Holy crap. This is amazing." She smiled. 

"I know right? This stuff is crazy expensive too." He said.

Eventually, Monroe was able to able to drop her off back at the precinct where she thanked him and promised to get him a gift basket as a thanks. She got up the stairs and to the office seeing Hank and Nick. Nick looked at her and paled. 

"Shit." He said. 

"Yeah. Shit is right. Thanks for forgetting me." She said. She saw Liam smirking over in a corner and she sent him a death glare without hesitation. "Anything new I should know about?" She asked. 

"Well, we just found out that the family we are working with right now lied to us." Hank laughed a bit. Suddenly Sean came over to them. 

"Nick, Paityn. Can I talk to you for a minute?" He asked. They both looked at him and nodded. "Look, I had to pull the guys guarding your aunt at the hospital." He said. 

"What why?" Nick asked confused. 

"Nick, if he kept the guards there it would've looked like we were giving cop families special treatment. That's not how we want to be viewed." Paityn said giving Nick a sad glance. 

"I'm sorry, but my hands are tied," Sean said walking back to his office leaving Nick shocked. 

"I need to call Monroe." He said. 

"You just were there like 30 minutes ago. He's not gonna appreciate this at all Nick." She said. 

"We need him to guard her. He's our only option." Nick said calling him without anything and leaving the office. Paityn sighed and sat down in her chair letting her leg rest yet again.

"Shit," Hank said after hanging up the phone and getting up. 

"What? What's wrong?" She asked him. 

"Gilda took Rocky's gun. She said that she's either gonna get Rocky back or kill the people who took him." He said grabbing his stuff and calling Nick as he ran out the door. 

"Dammit. Stupid leg. Why can't you heal faster?" She said as she looked at her leg sadly. "I'll just go visit my aunt then. Why the heck not?" She said standing up and she began carefully walking out.

Paityn arrived there to see Monroe getting into his car and speeding off. She walked inside carefully checking in to see her Aunt and as she was walking to go see her she saw a fight going on. She watched Aunt Marie struggle to get the man away from her and nurses screaming to get security. Abruptly she watched as her aunt quickly stab the scalpel into the man's side killing him. She dropped the crutches going over to her and catching her before she fell. 

"Remember who you are. Trust your instincts and nothing else." She whispered before falling unconscious and she could practically feel the life leave her as everything slowed down. She watched nurses take her away as tears streamed down her face and her heart dropped making her feel almost sick.

Paityn stood by her Aunts grave with Nick and Juliet. Tears just kept streaming down her face no matter how hard she tried to make them stop. 

"Good-bye," Nick whispered setting down some white flowers on her grave. Paityn placed a few roses on her grave letting out a whimper and Nick stood up going to Juliet. 

"You alright?" She asked. 

"No. But we will be." He said. Juliet gently grabbed his hand walking away and Paityn stood up hoping to get back to work to distract herself. 

By the time she got there, it was dark and there were only around 3 people still there. The captain, and 2 other cops. She sat down at the desk leaning her crutches against the desk watching the two cops go out for drinks. She ran her hands through her hair taking a deep breath and she continued filling out paperwork. Suddenly she heard a door squeak and she lifted her head seeing Sean. 

"Are you alright?" He asked. She looked at him not saying anything for a moment before shaking her head. He walked over to her concerned as she broke down. She covered her mouth trying to hold it back and failing. 

"I, I'm sorry. I, I have been trying so hard to stay strong and not let it show how terrified I was for this to come but It came and, and now I don't know what to do and I'm terrified out of my mind. She's gone. She's gone." She sobbed. Sean gently helped her stand up and wrapped his arms around her tightly and she didn't hesitate to wrap her's around him letting go of everything. 

"Shh shh, It's alright. I'm here. Breathe. It's okay." He whispered. 

"I'm sorry. I, I'm so sorry." She sobbed. He gently rubbed her back trying his hardest to keep her calm. That was until she pulled out her phone. "I, I didn't show you what happened." She said. He looked at her confused before she pressed the play button on the recording. He listened to everything Liam said and he growled deeply and he abruptly wrapped his arms around her again. 

"I'll deal with him. Don't worry." He said. She nodded listening to his heart-beat and relaxing in his arms. She felt entirely safe with him and she wouldn't change that at all. 

"Thank you." She whispered. He hummed in response not knowing she managed to somehow fall asleep in his arms. When he did realize he smiled just a bit and he picked her up the same way he did earlier. 

"I got you. Just rest." He said. He carried her to his car setting her down gently. He drove her all the way to her house carrying her in and bringing her upstairs to her bed and gently tucking her in when she abruptly woke up gasping and shaking. Her pupils were huge and he looked at her concerned. "You alright?" He asked. She looked at him and she took a deep breath and nodded. 

"I'm not really, but I will be." She said quietly. He nodded and he went to leave when she grabbed his arm. "Stay? Please?" She asked quietly. She felt like a child asking him to stay but she was scared to be alone. He paused looking at her seeing the fear in her eyes and he nodded carefully crawling into the bed with her and she carefully laid beside him shaking. He gently wrapped his arms around her keeping her warm and safe.

"I got you. Just rest." He whispered. She fell asleep within seconds on him being there with her and by her side.
