16 The Triwizard Tournament

Through the gates, flanked with statues of winged boars, and up the sweeping drive the carriages trundled, swaying dangerously in what was fast becoming a gale.

Harry looked past Ron, out the window, seeing Hogwarts fast approaching, it's many lighted windows blurred and shimmering behind the thick curtain of rain.

Lightning flashed across the sky as their carriage came to a halt before the great oak front doors, which stood at the top of a flight of stone steps.

"Well it's been a pleasure guys, but as I can't apparate you..." Y/N spoke before he and Hermione silently disappeared.

"He can do that?" Susan asked shocked and wide eyed.

"Susan you have no idea what that guy can do" Lavender giggled.

Harry, Ron, Lavender and Susan jumped down from their carriage and dashed up the steps, looking up only when they were safely inside the cavernous, torch-lit Entrance Hall, with its magnificent marble staircase.

"Blimey!" Ron exclaimed, shaking his long hair and sending water everywhere. "If that keeps up the lake's going to overflow. I'm soak- ARGH!!!"

A large, red, water-filled balloon had dropped from out of the ceiling onto Ron's head and exploded. Drenched and spluttering, Ron staggered sideways into Harry, just as a second water bomb dropped- narrowly missing Lavender and exploding at Harry's feet.

Peeves cackled from above throwing water balloon after water balloon at the students before a bellowing voice ripped through the hall, stopping all in their tracks, including the poltergeist and an approaching Professor McGonagall, who had slipped and grabbed hold of Lavender to avoid falling.

"PEEVES. STOP THIS NONSENSE! NOW!!!"

The poltergeist gasped at Y/N, who glared at him angrily from the top of the marble staircase, hand intertwined with Hermione. Peeves whimpered:

"Sorry boss, didn't want to make you fret. Peeves did no harm they were already wet!"

"Here Peeves! Now!" Y/N ordered with fire in his voice as more students entered the hall and watched the unfolding situation in shock.

The poltergeist whimpered, floating up to
Y/N and hovering in front of him. Y/N asked with a commanding tone:

"Whom do you serve Peeves?"

"Y-y- you sir, Peeves didn't want to make you sour, please don't be mad, Peeves fears your true power!"

Shocked expressions and gasps looked up at the scene from the student body. Y/N smirked and chuckled:

"It's fine Peeves as long as you cease. But go annoy Draco, give him no peace."

The poltergeist's eyes lit up at the young Lord's words- cackling and circling in the air before disappearing.

Y/N and Hermione descended, hand in hand, as the shocked students looked at them.

"Thank you Y/N. I'll never know how you control him" Minerva chuckled at her young students.

"Peeves has experienced my... pointed temper first hand Professor" Y/N chuckled.

McGonagall's eyes widened momentarily in realisation before she smiled and held her hand out, replying:

"Well you best find your seats Y/N, Ms Granger."

She turned to Harry, Ron and the rest of the students.

"Well, move along then, into the Great Hall."

They walked across the Entrance Hall, following Y/N and Hermione to the large double doors on the right. Ron muttered under his breath, complaining about being wet, as they entered- the hall looking as fantastic as always. Golden plates and goblets filled the tables, gleamed over by hundreds of floating candles.

The four house tables sat along the Great Hall, one for the staff at its head sitting across it. The Slytherin table was first, then the Ravenclaw, the Hufflepuff and finally at the far end the Gryffindor one.

The friends walked passed the Slytherin table, Y/N glaring at Draco and his group who instantly looked down panicked.

"Baby... at least let the year start" Hermione giggled as she pecked Y/N's lips.

"Save me a seat love" Y/N smiled as they kissed quickly again: "Just gonna see Pat."

Hermione nodded as she smiled and spoke to Lavender, Y/N then walked up between the Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff tables, sneaking up behind his younger cousin.

Patroclus was sat next to Luna and across from his best friends Rolf and Reggie when Rolf's eyes suddenly went wide before he smirked.

"What is it Rolf what-argh!!!"

Patroclus was suddenly lifted from his seat and ragdolled before being put on his feet and spun around. He shook his head in confusion before looking at the man mountain in front of him.

"Y/N!!!!" He cheered happily, gripping Y/N in a bone crunching hug which was reciprocated.

"Patroclus how are you cousin? I've missed you" Y/N chuckled as they separated.

"Good. How was your summer? You look uh..."

"Tanned" Luna added as she smiled in her dizzy way.

"Hey Luna good to see you. Yeah it was busy Pat, I'll tell you about it wh-"

Y/N stopped talking shocked as Luna stood and interlocked her fingers with Patroclus's.  Y/N smiled.

"So when did this happen?"

"Over summer. Pat came to stay and we decided we liked each other. Then Daddy had a talk to him" Luna smiled.

"That's amazing guys. Congrats I'm happy for you both. We'll catch up tomorrow, I just wanted to say hey" Y/N said happily.

They parted smiling before Y/N saw someone he didn't expect at the staff table. He walked towards the table smiling before stopping abruptly and bending over at the Hufflepuff table, kissing a girl on the cheek.

"Congrats again on Head Girl Bea, super proud of you"

Beatrice smiled and chuckled, lifting a hand and hugging Y/N's head.

"Thanks N/N. It really means a lot."

"No worries Bea, can we chat at breakfast? Need to talk about something important."

Beatrice agreed and Y/N left, patting a relieved and grateful Cedric on the shoulder. He approached the long teachers desk and nodded at Sprout and Sinestra who were at the end.

"Professors, lovely to see you. I trust you had a good summer?"

"Very good thank you" "charming as always" Sprout and Sinestra replied before Y/N stopped in front of the man next to them, chuckling and asking:

"What the hell are you doing here?"

Sam smiled and stood.

"Great to see you too, Y/N"

They both chuckled and hugged across the teachers table.

"What the hell are you doing at the start of year feast?" Y/N asked, still surprised at Sam's presence.

"Albus insisted, something about recognised member of staff"

"That's awesome. You sticking around after? Need to have a chat with Albus and you should be there for it."

Sam smiled and nodded.

"I'm leaving after the feast but I'll hang around for that definitely."

"Cool man, I better get back but we'll catch up" Y/N smiled.

Sam nodded. Y/N walked passed the two empty seats next to to Sam and to the Headmaster, nodding respectfully as he spoke through legilimency:

Albus, I need to speak to you and Sam urgently, and have a meeting with you Hagrid, Barnaby and Liz as well.

Albus smiled and nodded.

Come to my office after the feast.

Y/N smirked before shaking Sev's hand as he was sitting next to the Headmaster.

"Lots to catch up on Sev, but here."

Y/N pulled a vial filled with a clear thick liquid that contained small golden flecks and smiled as he handed it to the Professor:

"Cyclops tears. Present from my Greek summer"

Severus was speechless. He muttered out a stunned thank you to his godson.

"I don't have any frees but I'll swing passed the dungeon tomorrow after classes?"

"That would be fantastic, godson. It will be good to catch up. I have missed you."

"Missed you to Sev" Y/N smiled. He noticed McGonagall had entered the Great Hall, it was almost time for the first years to be sorted. He walked along the table nodding and greeting the various teachers and staff. He walked passed Dean, winked at Penny who giggled, nodded at Liz who was next to her before embracing Barnaby in a bro hug across the table.

"Missed you little bro! Good summer?" Barnaby asked.

"Fill you in later. I've asked Albus for a meeting with us three, Hagrid and himself after the feast. Lots to discuss about the reserve. New Creatures mate."

Barnaby got excited and Liz smiled at her boyfriend before Y/N said his goodbyes and took his seat next to Hermione, pecking her lips.

"Why did that look less like a student greeting his teachers and more like someone greeting their equals?" Hermione giggled.

"Well I don't like to brag but-"

"Since when?" Lavender asked from the other side of Hermione. She chuckled at Y/N's mock hurt as the first years walked in, two in a row.

"They're so little" Ron laughed.

"It's all relative Ron. To me you and Harry are tiny" Y/N chuckled, causing the redhead to blush in embarrassment. Hermione pointed to Tiffany, who looked petrified.

You will be fine sweety, I promise. No matter where you are placed they will be an incredibly lucky house!

She suddenly looked around before looking straight at Y/N and smiling. He winked to her.

"Did you?" Hermione asked. Y/N leant down.

"Just to calm her nerves."

Hermione's left hand, which was sitting on     Y/N's upper thigh, squeezed as she smiled:

"You really are a big teddy bear aren't you."

"Shh. Don't let on baby" Y/N chuckled as she leant up and kissed him. The sorting hat started to sing.

A thousand years or more ago
When I was newly sewn,
There lived four wizards of renown,
Whose names are still well known:

Bold Gryffindor, from wild moor,
Fair Ravenclaw, from glen,
Sweet Hufflepuff, from valley broad,
Shrewd Slytherin, from fen.

They shared a wish, a hope, a dream,
They hatched a daring plan
To educate young sorcerers
Thus Hogwarts School began.

Now each of these four founders
Formed their own house, for each
Did value different virtues
In the ones they had to teach.

By Gryffindor, the bravest were
Prized far beyond the rest;
For Ravenclaw, the cleverest
Would always be the best;

For Hufflepuff, hard workers were
Most worthy of admission;
And power-hungry Slytherin
Loved those of great ambition.

While still alive they did divide
Their favourites from the throng,
Yet how to pick the worthy ones
When they were dead and gone?

Twas Gryffindor who found the way,
He whipped me off his head
The founders put some brains in me
So I could choose instead!

So long that line was ended,
The truth though was concealed
But now we here at end of days
See his one true heir revealed!

That will be shown in years to come
Our saviour does come forth
But that is for another day
And I have first years to sort!

Now slip me snug about your ears,
I've never yet been wrong,
I'll have a look inside your mind
And tell where you belong!

The hall was filled with whispers, a number of students looking at Y/N before Dumbledore stood clapping loudly.

"Well done sorting hat, another wonderful song. Well done!"

The staff at the head of the table, many who had been staring stunned at Y/N, started clapping as well. The students slowly started to follow along before McGonagall started the sorting ceremony.

"Why did everyone look at you Y/N? I mean the hat makes up a new song every year right?" Ron asked.

"Were you even listening Ronald?" Lavender chastised. Ron shook his head.

"Well the hat just outed Y/N as saviour as..."

She leant in to whisper

"As the Prophesied One!"

"Ohh!" Ron said, eyes wide in realisation.

"Can't do much about it now. Let's pay attention" Y/N said as the first student was called up.

"Ackerley, Stewart"

A terrified looking boy walked forward, placing the hat on his head.

"Ravenclaw!"

Stewart got up relieved and placed the hat down as the Ravenclaw's erupted in applause. Harry looked over and caught a glimpse of Cho. She made eye contact and smiled. Harry felt himself blush.

"Baddock, Malcolm"
"Slytherin!"

"Another snake" Ron muttered.

"Give them a chance Ron. Only one though" Y/N chuckled.

"Branstone, Eleanor"
"Hufflepuff"

"Cauldwell, Owen"
"Hufflepuff"

"Creevey, Dennis"

"Wait there's another one?" Y/N asked chuckling. Harry gave him an exasperated look.

"Gryffindor"

The table cheered and clapped, the younger Creevey running up yelling to his brother about falling in the Black Lake.

"Something lifted me back in the boat!"

Y/N stopped paying attention as Hagrid edged to his chair against the back wall. He was soaked and looked dreadful. Y/N unsheathed his wand and flicked his wrist.

Hagrid looked down at himself shocked before looking over as Y/N who resheathed his wand and nodded. Hermione rubbed his thigh.

"Like I said, teddy bear"

"Well no one likes sitting in wet clothes" Y/N chuckled.

"Dobbs, Emma"
"Gryffindor!"

The table clapped again.

"Eckermann, Jess"
"Ravenclaw"

"Fox, Tiffany"

Y/N sat to attention, as did Hermione. They heard the hat muttering.

"Interesting... Interesting... brain of your father... bravery of your mother... where to put you... hmmmm...."

The hat went quiet for nearly two minutes. Y/N could see Tiff's face growing concerned.

"C'mon hat" Y/N whispered.

Another minute passed.

"Better be.... GRYFFINDOR!"

Y/N was on his feet in a moment, clapping loudly.

"Yeah Tiffy!!!!" He yelled as he followed it with a wolf whistle. The other Gryffindors followed his lead clapping and cheering loudly. Tiff ran over blushing, a huge smile on her face.

She looked down the table at Y/N smiling as she sat on the opposite side, he gave her a thumbs up, a smile and a wink and popped her a quick.

I'm so proud of you. Welcome to Gryffindor!

There wasn't another Gryffindor sorted until Natalie McDonald, Nearly Headless Nick popping up behind Y/N.

"I do hope this year's batch of Gryffindors are up to scratch. We don't want to break our winning streak do we Lord?"

Y/N chuckled to Nick as he clapped for Natalie.

"Four in a row this year, especially with my Grand Consort here! She's a House point magnet!" Y/N smiled as he kissed Hermione on the head.

"Of course, great to see you Lady Granger" the ghost smiled as he floated along.

Ron whined about being hungry for the next several minutes before the last student, Kevin Whitby, was placed in Hufflepuff.

Dumbledore stood as the hat and stool were taken away, he smiled and uttered:

"I have only two words to say. Tuck in!"

Platters and bowls of food magically appeared on the tables, Ron squealing in delight as he shovelled mashed potato in his mouth. Hermione looked at the food unsure.

"You ok baby?" Y/N asked.

"Yes I'm fine love. You go ahead and eat" she smiled, noticing Y/N's empty plate. He shifted a leg over to straddle the bench and face her fully. She turned and he gently placed his hands on her hips.

"Can I show you something?" He asked with a loving smile. Hermione nodded.

"Barley" Y/N called, a small house elf in a neat clean dress appearing. She squealed happily:

"Lord Y/N! Lord Y/N! Barley is so happy to see you Lord Y/N!"

Y/N smiled.

"I'm really happy to see you too. Did you have a good summer, Barley?"

"I did Lord Y/N. We didn't have much work so we had lots of elf picnics at the Black Lake!"

"That's great Barley" Y/N smiled, adding quickly:

"You haven't met my girlfriend have you Barley?"

"No Lord Y/N" Barley smiled at Hermione.

"This is Hermione. Hermione this is Barley. Barley is one of the House Elves of Hogwarts."

"Hello Lady Hermione! It's lovely to meet you!" Barley smiled.

Hermione smiled warmly and held out her hand to shake, which Barley gratefully accepted.

"It's lovely to meet you too Barley" Hermione replied happily.

"Barley, Hermione is Muggleborn, so she is only just finding out about how a lot of House Elves are treated and it is really upsetting her" Y/N said gently.

"Lady Hermione is just like Lord Y/N, always caring about House Elves!" Barley said with a tone of genuine appreciation.

Y/N smiled back.

"She is a very loving soul Barley. Is it ok to ask you some personal questions? Just to help Hermione learn more about the House Elves at Hogwarts?"

Barley nodded happily, feeling honoured that Hermione was so concerned.

"Thank you Barley. Are you a free elf Barley?"

Barley shook her head.

"No sir. Barley is a Hogwarts Elf. Barley is happy! Barley is a good House Elf!"

Y/N smiled and replied: "One of the very best."

Hermione couldn't help but smile as the diminutive elf lit up at the praise. Y/N smiled:

"Do you want to be free Barley?"

"No sir. Then Barley could leave. Barley never wants to leave Hogwarts."

"Are you happy here Barley?"

"Barley is very happy Lord Y/N. Barley has her own room and her own bed with pictures from the money Barley gets."

"So even though you're not free you still get paid?"

"Yes Lord Y/N. Headmaster insists."

"What happens if you decide you want to be freed?"

"Headmaster gives us clothes but we get to stay and work. But Barley doesn't want that!" She shook her head fiercely.

"I know sweety. I know. Are the House Elves happy at Hogwarts? Do they enjoy their job?"

Barley's little face lit up.

"Yes sir. Yes sir. House Elves all want to do good job. We is treated well. We want to do good job to thank Headmaster"

"And you do an amazing job Barley" Y/N smiled. "One last question. If you're not free where did you get such a pretty dress?"

Barley smiled in pride at her dress.

"We allowed to buy it with our pay. Doesn't make us free if we buy it. Does Lord Y/N really think Barley's dress is pretty?"

"I do Barley. It maybe one of the prettiest dresses I've ever seen" Y/N smiled kindly.

The elf appeared to nearly cry. The couple thanked her and she disapparated with a giant smile. Y/N gripped Hermione's waist again- firmly, but lovingly.

"Does that make you feel better love? It's far from ideal but the House Elves are treated here like they are on my estate. They take pride in their job. They want you to enjoy the food they prepare. I understand how you feel but trust me, compared to what's out there, they are cared for here."

Hermione nodded and smiled at Y/N. She still didn't like it but she was happy the elves were being looked after. They kissed and turned back to the table, Hermione placing some spaghetti on her plate.

—~—

Following dessert the last of the food disappeared, Dumbledore standing up at the podium again.

"Well time now for a few announcements! You might notice some new, but to our older students, familiar faces up here tonight. Firstly may I introduce Dean L/N."

The hall erupted in applause. Dean's efforts in defeating the Cursed Vaults were famous. A lot of Gryffindors noticed Y/N not clapping.

"Yes it is fantastic to have the Hero of Hogwarts return. Dean will, for the next two months, be teaching a short course to all year levels- Curse Breaking. As to what he will be doing after the two months are up, well we will get to that shortly. Next to Dean is his lovely wife and Potions prodigy Penny L/N."

More raucous applause. This time Y/N applauded loudly.

"Penny will be here with us this year as an Assistant Professor to Professor Snape, assisting and teaching Potions classes. To avoid confusion Penny is happy for students to refer to her as Professor L/N, or by her maiden name of Professor Haywood. Speaking of Haywood's..."

Dumbledore looked down to Beatrice and smiled a cheeky smile, seeing her already blush.

".... congratulations to Beatrice Haywood of Hufflepuff on being named Head Girl, and Marcus Turner of Ravenclaw being named Head Boy."

More applause, Y/N again leading it loudly for his Sister-in-Law.

"Finally at the teachers table we have Professor Sam Winchester."

He held his hand out towards Sam who nervously waved at the students who clapped. He saw the gaze of a number of female students and shifted uncomfortably, causing  Y/N to chuckle.

"Sam is here teaching one class, to one student and only one student-"

"Three guesses who!" George Weasley yelled, a number of students (and a Headmaster) chuckling.

"Indeed Mr. Weasley. Sam is a Hunter. He is teaching Ghoul Studies to our own Y/N L/N, who might I add is on track to receive an outstanding in the NEWT level course..."

It was Y/N's turn to shift uncomfortably at the stunned looks he received. Hermione leant back smiling, tickling Y/N's beard and pecking his lips whispering "so proud!"

"...Ghoul Studies and Hunting is an exceedingly dangerous course and profession, and only the bravest and most powerful among us can even consider it as a pathway. Sam and Y/N have faced countless life threatening encounters and saved hundreds, if not thousands, of lives in the last twelve months. And I for one thinks that deserves a round of applause!"

Dumbledore clapped loudly, as did the other staff members and most of students, even the vast majority of Slytherins. Hermione was one of the loudest of all. Y/N chuckled.

Tricky old bastard isn't he.

What do you mean love? Hermione thought back shocked.

He's pumping up my tires, so it won't be as much of a shock when a fifteen year old is selected. He probably put the hat up to it too.

No... he... he just wants to celebrate your bravery... doesn't he?

Oh my beautiful sweet girl. I guess it takes a devious mind to spot a devious mind Y/N chuckled.

"We also have a new Defence the Dark Arts teacher but-"

There was a deafening roar of thunder outside, the two great doors bursting open, and a strange looking man standing there. Lightning suddenly ripped across the ceiling of the great hall, the strange man firing a spell up to it, calming the enchanted ceiling once more.

Strange, why would... Y/N started to think before recognising the stranger.

"Mad-Eye" Y/N smiled.

"That's Mad-Eye?" Ron gulped. Harry sat wide eyed and intimidated. The hall was silent apart from a loud clunk as Mad-Eye walked down the great hall.

Clunk

Clunk

He nodded to Y/N on the way past. Y/N nodded back.

Clunk

Clunk

Clunk

He reached the podium and muttered to Dumbledore, shaking hands as he walked to his seat at the staff table.

"As I was saying, our new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, Professor Alastor Moody!"

Students clapped despite being intimidated. Dumbledore spoke again.

"So, Mr Filch has asked me to tell you that the Forbidden Forest is off limits, except for those students who have special Headmaster granted permission..."

He glanced at Y/N who smirked.

"...and also that there is a list now that numbers four hundred and thirty seven items that are banned from Hogwarts. For anyone who wishes to see the full list it is in Mr Filches office...."

The corners of his mouth twitched.

"It is also my painful duty to inform you that the inter-house Quidditch Cup, won so spectacularly last year by Gryffindor, will not take place this year."

Gasps and whispers were heard.

"What!!!!" Harry almost yelled in shock. Lavender looked at Hermione stunned, she noticed Hermione's hand shift even further towards Y/N.

—~—

Hermione was starting to panic. She had been aware all summer he would be in the tournament, but blocked it out. Now that it was here, happening, well she wasn't ready for it. She had pushed her hand further into Y/N's inner thigh and squeezed. Y/N placed an arm round her waist and pulled her tight. He knew she needed to be comforted right now.

—~—

Harry looked at his Quidditch teammates- Fred, George, Katie and Angelina, and finally Y/N. The others seemed unable to speak, but Y/N looked calm as a Hindu cow. Hermione though looked like she was having a panic attack. Dumbledore continued:

"This is due to an event that is starting in October, and continuing throughout the school year, taking up much of the teachers time and energy- but I am sure you will enjoy it immensely. I have the great pleasure in announcing that this year at Hogwarts we are to have the honour of hosting the TRIWIZARD TOURNAMENT!"

Albus bellowed. Thunder struck as he finished, eerily on cue. Hermione squeezed.

"You're joking!" Fred Weasley yelled.

"I'm not..." Albus replied, causing many to laugh.

"Although over the summer I heard a good one. A troll, a leprechaun and a hag go into a bar-"

"Ahem!" Professor McGonagall cleared her throat loudly. Dumbledore chuckled.

"Yes well as I was saying, the Triwizard Tournament, many here may not know what it entails so you would forgive me a quick explanation.

The Triwizard tournament was first established seven centuries ago as a friendly competition between Europe's three largest magical schools- Hogwarts, Beauxbatons and Durmstrang. A Champion was selected from each school..."

Hermione squeezed again.

"...and the three champions competed in three magical tasks. The schools took it in turns to host the event once every five years and it was generally agreed to be a fantastic way to establish ties between young witches and wizards of different countries- that is until the death toll mounted so high that the tournament was discontinued..."

"DEATH TOLL?!?!?" Hermione screeched at the top of her lungs in shock and horror. The rest of the hall turned confused only to see Y/N whisper in her ear and kiss her reassuringly on the temple. She appeared to nod and whimper before burying her head into his chest.

"Yes..er well I can assure Ms Granger and all of you that stringent safety mechanisms have been put in place for the return of the tournament. The contingents from both schools will be arriving in late October. They will contain the short listed contenders from both schools, as well as a number of each schools best and brightest students, from fourth year up, who will take part in a cultural and educational exchange, taking part in Hogwarts classes."

A number of excited whispers broke out among the hall, Albus raised his hands to silence them.

"Eager though I know all of you are to bring the Triwizard Cup, not to mention eternal glory, to Hogwarts- the heads of the participating schools, along with the Ministry of Magic..."

Y/N snorted in derision.

"... have agreed to impose an age restriction on contenders this year. Only students who are of age, that is to say seventeen years or older, will be allowed to put forward their names for contention"

A number of students howled in outrage.

"However, in the case of a student who was under the age of seventeen, but was legally an adult... well they too would be eligible to enter the tournament!"

Albus didn't look at Y/N. Every other student in the hall did however, along with a number of shocked staff members. One in particular fought back tears of concern. They all saw a small smirk break out across Y/N's face.

"Certain perks will be allocated to the champion selected for Hogwarts- they will be excused from exams this school year, allowing them to focus on the tournament. They will however be required to attend classes. They will also be granted private living quarters to...."

Albus paused, as if considering a justifiable excuse for this addendum.

"... ensure they have a private retreat to escape the pressures of the Tournament. Lastly, as some of you are aware, the All Wizard Cup was a tournament held in 1989 at Hogwarts, similar to the Triwizard. It is as close as anyone living has experienced and was won by our own Dean L/N. Therefore Dean will spend the majority of this year as a mentor to the three champions, helping them train, prepare and face the pressures of the three tasks. Make no mistake though- if you are selected you stand alone! Thank you and please make your way to your common rooms, classes start tomorrow morning. Off to bed. Chop chop!"

A number of excited whispers broke out across the hall. Harry and Ron turned back to their friends excitedly. Hermione sat with her face still in her lover's chest, Y/N rubbing her back and whispering sweet nothings and reassurances to her, kissing her on the head.

"You're entering aren't you Y/N. You already knew about it. That's why Hermione is so worried, right?" Harry asked.

Y/N didn't answer, he just looked at Harry. Harry nodded.

"I know it's scary Hermione, but if anyone can dominate this tournament it's Y/N. It was made for wizards like him" Harry said gently.

Hermione lifted her face out of Y/N's chest, her eyes glistening, and nodded.

"Thank you Harry. You're right. It's just..."

She sounded like she was going to cry. Y/N soothed her lovingly.

"I have to go to the Headmaster's office for a couple of meetings, you want to come baby?" He asked gently.

She nodded.

"See you guys tomorrow morning" Y/N smiled. The couple apparated out the Great Hall.
