Hermione was led to the Headmaster's office by the hand. They entered after knocking and the Headmaster wished them a good evening.

"We're travelling by floo. Family Christmas dinner. The Headmaster here was good enough to let us attend and I thank you for that Albus" Y/N nodded at the Headmaster who smiled back.

"You're welcome Y/N. You've had a... difficult term wouldn't do it justice... so to relax and celebrate with friends will do you both well. Have a lovely evening."

The couple approached the Floo network and Y/N smiled:

"Ellen's Roadhouse Babe"

Hermione looked a little shocked. She entered and used the floo and stepped out to a bar that looked rough and tumble but had Christmas decorations and about ten people there. Sam smiled and walked over just as Y/N appeared out of the floo.

"Hermione, Y/N great to see you both" he smiled, shaking Hermione's hand and pulling Y/N into a tight hug.

"You too Sammy" Y/N smiled into the hug.

"Thank you for inviting us" Hermione answered happily.

"Well you two are family now. Let's go meet everyone."

They first approached Bobby with a couple of other men and women.

"Bobby good to see you again" Y/N smiled as the two hugged.

"You Met Bobby briefly 'Mione at the meeting"

"Nice to meet you again, hopefully tonight will be a little more relaxed" Hermione smiled.

"Let's hope so little lady" Bobby chuckled back.

"This is Ellen and her daughter Jo. Ellen owns this place" Y/N introduced as Hermione greeted them both.

"You look familiar" she smiled at Jo.

"Just finished Hogwarts last year. I was a Hufflepuff"

"Oh cool are you friends with Bea and Cedric?"

"I am yes"

"Next we have Pam, Benny and Ash" Y/N moved on. Hermione greeted them all before Pam spoke up.

"Seriously still Y/N? Do I have to start beating you? You and me have to have a girls chat after Hermione" Pam scolded him causing Hermione to blush. Y/N had told her all about Pam and her 'advice'.

Next Ruby walked up:

"Hello handsome good to see you again"

She smiled happily as Y/N hugged her tight.

"So good to see you Rubes. You look so much better. Hermione this is Ruby. She-"

Before Y/N could finish Ruby was surprised but happy to be hugged by Hermione.

"Thank you for saving my boyfriend's life" Hermione said into the hug.

"You told Hermione about that?" Ruby asked, somewhat shocked.

"I tell Hermione everything. No secrets, no lies" Y/N smiled.

"Good boy" Ellen chuckled from behind.

Y/N steeled himself. Jody and her girls were next. He liked Jody but the girls had made him... uncomfortable... at their last meeting.

"Finally 'Mione this is Jody Mills and her adopted muggle daughters... Annie, Claire and Patience."

"You remembered. Good memory handsome" Annie said flirtatiously.

Hermione took an instant dislike to her and glared. Jody picked up on it. She spoke quickly to change the subject.

"Congratulations on the Lordship Y/N, and you Hermione, being named Lady and Grand Consort."

"Thank you" Hermione said still slightly glaring at Annie.

"Yeah thanks Jody. And it was a no brainer naming Hermione my Lady. Gonna marry this girl one day. If she'll have me" Y/N chuckled giving Hermione a quick peck on the lips which she returned cupping his face.

"Can't wait love" she smiled.

"Dinner is ready so let's get started. Merry Christmas everyone" Jody called our smiling as she levitated huge numbers of platters out to the long table that was set up- Chickens, mash and roast potatoes, corn, green beans, cooked and sliced ham, gravy- the spread looked amazing.

Y/N was next to Sam and Hermione at one end, Ash next to Sam and Jodie and her three girls sat across from them. The others were at the other end of the table.

"Well Y/N since you're the Lord and our newest member of the family, along with Hermione, you can say grace" Ellen chuckled.

Y/N put his hands together and didn't miss a beat.

"Dear Artemis goddess of the hunt. May our spells be straight, our hunts quick and our beer glasses full. Amen"

There were laughs and claps and various amens as the group settled down to eat.

Hermione couldn't help but giggle at her man and Sam. Both of them looked like they were having orgasms.

"Oh this bird is fantastic" Y/N said looking at Jodie who looked confused.

"When you put it together with the potatoes and the beans and gravy"

"Ohhh" Sam moaned loudly causing the teenage muggles to giggle again.

"I mean you guys eat like this everyday?" Sam asked.

"It's just chicken" Jodie chuckled.

"It's shaped like chicken. Not a patty or a nugget" Sam replied quickly.

"Well Hogwarts always had good food Y/N?" Jodie asked surprised.

"My man..." Hermione said glancing ever so quickly at the girls "is very well disciplined with his diet Jodie"

"Have to be baby, don't get all this" he motioned to his chest and abdomen "without being careful. High protein, low fat, no carbs. Thank God it's Christmas" he said as he picked up another big scoop of mashed potatoes as Sam complained, Y/N growling:

"There's more in the kitchen Winchester"

Hermione giggled. The two close friends looked like they were two dogs about to fight over a bone.

"So you have a six pack then?" Annie asked, smiling seductively at Y/N. Before he could answer Hermione spoke up.

"He does. It's fantastic!"

"Can we talk about the case?" Claire spoke up loudly and annoyed.

"Case what case?" Y/N asked and Sam shrugged.

None of the others were interested- Bobby, Pam, Benny, Ellen Ruby and Jo were having a conversation while Ash was shovelling food into his mouth.

"There is no case" Jody exclaimed frustrated.

"Three people have gone missing" Claire countered followed quickly by "there's no evidence they didn't skip town on their own. Two of them were runaways and one was a homeless guy" from Jodie.

"He was last seen at Breighton Point"

"Dude?" Sam complained as Y/N took the last of the corn.

"There's plenty left. Breighton Point?" Y/N asked Jodie.

"Yes in the kitchen and it's where the kids go to make out."

"What?" Y/N asked shocked.

"Make out. Surely you know what that is?" Annie asked in a flirtatious manner.

Hermione's blood pressure went up slightly higher before Y/N answered completely oblivious and somewhat shocked.

"Of course but me and 'Mione go to our own special private place. Muggles do it in groups?"

"In their own cars" Sam answered quickly.

"Oh ok. Couldn't really work for us, making out on a bunch of lined up broomsticks" Y/N replied causing Hermione to laugh at the mental image.

"The case!" Claire said loudly and in frustration, following up with:

"Guys there's something out there. People are reporting animals they've never seen before, things stalking their front yards that disappear."

"This is according to those strange paranormal magazines you've been reading... Hey put it down" she chastised Patience who had tried to sneak Jodie's glass of wine.

"They're eye witness accounts!" Claire answered in frustration.

"Could be a magical creature on the lose then?" Y/N theorised turning to his partner:

"We've hunted on less Sammy"

Sam nodded, sneaking a drumstick off Y/N's plate.

"What else you got?" Y/N asked.

Claire suddenly looked bashful.

"Uhhh working on it"

Y/N raised an eyebrow as she looked down.

"Claire did catch a werewolf" Annie added.

"What?" Y/N said loudly. "Claire they are dangerous for hunters with magic why would a muggle go after-"

"Oh right" Annie cut him off "it turned out to be a German Shepherd with rabies".

Y/N looked at Claire then Hermione and then down.

Here we go he said through legilimency and felt Hermione squeeze his thigh under the table.

"And before that was the vampire. Councilwoman into erotic cosplay. I didn't know what cosplay was until that. Super embarrassing for all of us" Jodie added sounding extremely stressed.

"Wow" Y/N chuckled before turning to Hermione and whispered:

"What the heck is cosplay?"

"I'll tell you later. My Lord" she giggled seductively as his knee hit the table.

"So you've been busy" Y/N said to Claire trying to change the subject quickly.

"I've been hunting" she replied fiercely

"Aka menacing innocent people. Claire has a whole string of assaults racked up. The only reason she's not in juvi is because I imperio'd the local bobby. And now I've just admitted to using an unforgivable to the Ealdorman of the Wizengamot" Jodie said finishing by rubbing her temple.

"Meh, I do it all the time don't worry" Y/N answered nonchalantly before noticing the looks he got from the whole table, including Hermione.

"What? Fuckers had it coming".

"Fine I've been wrong but this time I know there's a monster"

"Can we stop talking about monsters and hunting? What about real life?" Annie said in frustration.

"Real life? Ok sure let's get real". Claire smirked at her adopted sister.

"You and Henry set on a weekend yet?"

"When you're sneaking up to Jodie's cabin to screw yourselves silly"

Annie looked at her wide eyed and panicked.

"Oh shit here we go" Y/N said getting a jab in the ribs from Hermione.

Jodie was sat shocked with her mouth wide open.

"We.. we're... we're not... you're completely insane" Annie snapped at Claire.

Claire snickered. "You may want to burn your diary before you commit to that"

"I'm gonna get the potatoes" Sam said

"Yeah lets go talk to Bobby love" Y/N agreed and spoke to Hermione.

"Sit. Stay" Jodie looked at the boys like an angry mum and both Claire and Hermione giggled at the two giant men folding like naughty schoolchildren.

"Um. Hmm. Annie anything you want to say?" Jodie asked her as calm as possible.

"Nope"

"Ok. Well I may have definitely seen birth control pills in your backpack"

"What?" Y/N asked confused by the muggle terminology. "What the hell are pills?" He muttered getting another elbow.

"Oh we're going there" Sam said in a panic.

"Hey if we can't talk about it we shouldn't be doing it right boys".

She looked at Sam and Y/N with wide opened eyes nodding, hoping for support. The boys looked at her like stunned mullets.

"Uhhh" Sam answered while Y/N went wide eyed "What?"

Jodie shook her head and inhaled at their uselessness as Hermione tried her best not to break out in laughter. Jodie folded her hands before speaking to her daughter again.

"Ok I'm not going to tell you that you're too young to be having sex" she said looking at Annie.

"Or you" pointing at Patience

"Or you" pointing at Claire.

"Who's she going to have sex with she doesn't talk to anybody" Annie snapped at Claire before being chastised by her mother.

"Hey! What I will tell you is birth control pills are useless against STDs. Whoever you're with needs to suit up. Every time. Always. No... pulling up the draw bridge early."

Sam looked like he wanted to disappear into a hole in the earth. Y/N looked puzzled. Hermione was biting her hand trying not to laugh while Claire looked at her and giggled.

"Alright I get it" Annie said frustrated and embarrassed.

"And... don't expect the guy, as much as I love Henry to always show up packing. Right guys?" She turned to the boys again.

Sam sat their awkwardly unable to move. Y/N looked stunned realising she was talking to him.

"What?"

"Seriously?" Jodie asked them exacerbated.

"You did not just ask Y/N about bringing condoms. Did you listen to nothing I said to that boy?" Pam yelled out causing Hermione to blush brightly and Ruby to laugh.

"Just stop. We haven't done anything yet. I'm just... trying to be prepared"

Jodie looked at her with wide open eyes and a mouth to match before turning to the boys with the same stunned expression.

Sam nodded with an extremely uncomfortable look on his face. Y/N smiled picked up a bottle of wine and started sculling.

"Potatoes and corn, potatoes and corn" Jodie said embarrassed getting up and running to the kitchen.

"This is fun" Hermione said to Claire who nodded and chuckled in response.

After about ten minutes of awkwardness Ellen called out it was time for Kris Kringle. Hermione panicked slightly when Ellen called out to her.

"Hermione do you want to go first?"

"Oh I didn't know..."

"I picked them up babe, didn't want to ruin the surprise of this evening" Y/N smiled handing her a present. Hermione grinned- always so sweet was her boyfriend.

"I got Sam. Merry Christmas Sam"

Sam thanked her and opened the present but instantly started blushing. As he announced to the group:

"An interior car cleaning kit"

Ruby laughed hysterically.

"Hey I gotta ride in that car man" Y/N chuckled before speaking again.

"Alright my turn. Merry Christmas Benny!"

Benny opened the small present and laughed deeply

"You smartarse son of a bitch"

He held up his present, a set of plastic Dracula fangs.

"I prefer the real thing" he laughed bearing his fangs, Hermione's eyes opened in shock, she had never seen a Vampire's fangs in the flesh before.

They went around the table until they got to Pam.

"I got you Y/N".

"Oh Merlin" Y/N said instantly catching the present she tossed to him. He opened it up.

"One box of extra large condoms"

Laughter was heard around the table.

"Not sure they'll be big enough babe" Hermione giggled to him, 'accidentally' loud enough so Annie could hear. It then got to Ruby.

"I got you Hermione. Merry Christmas" she smiled.

Hermione thanked her and opened the present.

"I thought these were joke presents" Hermione asked holding up a book.

Everyone laughed.

"Well 'Mione will get a lot of use out of it, I do do some stupid shit" Y/N chuckled, Sam and Hermione humming in agreement.

After the presents were exchanged the Family broke into smaller groups. Y/N had settled at the bar with the boys. They were all laughing doing shots of fire whiskey.

Jodie, Ellen and their daughters had settled near the Christmas tree while Hermione was sat feeding Gizmo talking with Pam and Ruby. Y/N kept hearing giggles and loud Pam laughter as well as Ruby's "Really?" Every few minutes. He smiled happy to see Hermione getting on so well with his Hunting family. He was drawn from his thoughts by Ash challenging him to another shotgun challenge.

It was nearly ten when they decided they'd better get back to Hogwarts as the train was leaving in the morning.

Well Hermione decided, Y/N was quite drunk and he and the guys were getting louder as the night went on.

After finally getting him to say goodbye to everyone and thanking them for a good night they approached the floo network when Y/N stopped and turned.

"Hey Bobby. You heard about this meeting that's coming up?"

Everyone stopped to listen. They had all heard the rumours apart from the muggle girls.

"Yeah I have son. Why?"

"You got any friends going?"

"I may have. You know something?"

"I heard Bobby.. this meeting is all about fighting for freedom. From persecution for Muggleborns, half breeds, werewolves, vampires- those who attend will be asked to make a commitment. And it's not the kind of thing you can walk away from. Don't send anyone just for the sake of it Bobby. It wouldn't end well. Just the rumour I heard anyway" Y/N chuckled slurring his words.

"Thanks kid I'll keep that in mind".

Y/N noticed a lot of shocked faces looking back at him. It was obvious what he was saying reading between the lines. All except one. Those eyes had a look of ferocity. Y/N smirked.

Hermione appeared back in the Headmaster's office where she was surprised he was still at his desk. She had a pleasant conversation about the evening before Y/N finally appeared in the room stumbling a bit.

"Baby I was getting worried... is that hay in your hair?" She asked pulling some long pieces out.

"I think I slurr-red my words. I ended up in a chicken coop. Had to app-are-ate here" he chuckled.

"You had a very enjoyable evening then Y/N. I've heard about Hunters get togethers" The Headmaster chuckled.

"Night Alby. Merry Christmas" Y/N yelled as Hermione helped/pushed him out of the office towards the Room of Requirement.

"I love you so much Herm-min-ione" The Headmaster heard as they exited, laughing to himself.

"He's going to be in pieces in the morning"
