63 Apologies
After their passionate encounter Sunday Hermione and Y/N were even more clingy and affectionate with each other. For the most part the rest of the week was ok, just focusing on classes.
Monday morning came with the news the annual season opener of Gryffindor-Slytherin match wouldn't go ahead because of the Slytherin's "injured" seeker. Hufflepuff accepted stepping into their position against Gryffindor.
Y/N and Cedric had instantly started their friendly feuding over the match. Clashing loudly whenever they were near each other. It was in complete jest and taken as such by both seekers.
It was fortunate none of the other students could remember the incident Sunday morning and none of them could penetrate Y/N's glamour, so for the most part the five friends simply kept to themselves and worked hard in the library. Ron though was the exception of the 'working hard' part.
Defence against the Dark Arts had been tricky though. Y/N had been particularly stand offish and abrupt with Professor Lupin which Hermione noticed straight away. Professor Lupin noticed as well but didn't address it.

It was Thursday evening and Y/N and Hermione headed to McGonagall's office for his weekly counselling session. They knocked and entered as McGonagall gave Charlie a firm talking to.
"So you are absolutely certain none of this will be repeated to anybody. It is of the utmost importance that-"
Charlie quickly countered with her hands raised in appeasement:
"Minerva, Minerva, I assure you I am a professional. I take client confidentiality extremely seriously. Y/N has told me many things and I haven't repeated a word to anyone. Please, breathe."
"That's good advice Professor" Y/N said with a smirk as he walked in the office, hand connected and fingers interlocked with Hermione.
Charlie smiled at the couple as she walked up and hugged first Y/N then Hermione, saying as she did:
"Great to see you both."
"You too, Char" Y/N smiled. Professor McGonagall was taken back by his friendliness. Y/N was not one to put on appearances, for anyone. If he was being polite to Charlie and had even given her a nickname he genuinely liked her.
"It's great to see you two getting alone so swimmingly. I'll leave you to it" the aged Professor smiled as she left the room, rushing to share the good news with the Headmaster.
"So do I want to know exactly what has happened to get me the third degree?"
Charlie smiled. "If it's more major than an angel we may need a double session".
Y/N smirked. "If I say the names Odin, Osiris and Thor to you what do you think?"
"They're all gods?" Charlie asked making the connection.
Y/N smirked and held his hands out to
the side. Charlie's mouth dropped. Hermione slapped him across the back of the head.
"You're not a god!"
Charlie chuckled. "Good one Y/N, you had me going".
"Well it was a half truth" Y/N sighed.
Charlie gulped.
She spent the rest of their session taking in what Y/N had said as he explained everything to her. The archon, the torture, the four months, the sacred bloodline, being a 'Son of Adam'.
"So, what's your diagnosis doc?" Y/N smirked at Charlie who looked shell shocked.
"Ok. I'm going to need to process this. All this. And we will talk next week. Until then it's important you stay grounded Y/N. Ignore the archon, ignore the bloodline, the prophecy, everything. Just focus on who you are. In here".
She held her hands to her chest and smiled.
"That sweet, caring funny boy who Hermione fell in love with. That's the best way to not be affected. We will speak again next week".
Y/N nodded as Hermione smiled and slipped her hand into his.
After leaving the session they headed towards the common room as they heard thunder and rain batter against the castle.
"Well that storm is here. Let's hope it doesn't make Quidditch too bad" Y/N chuckled.

The next day started with double potions and, secretly, double alchemy. It was always a brutal Friday morning for Y/N and this week was no exception.
The five friends headed for lunch as the torrential rain and thunderstorm could be heard lashing the castle.
"Tomorrow is gonna suck" Y/N chuckled as they sat down.
"Can't do much about it" Harry said as they started eating. Harry smiled.
"Double Dark Arts after lunch. My favourite session of the week".
Y/N's face hardened and Hermione noticed.
"Is something wrong love? You've been funny with Professor Lupin since Halloween" Hermione asked, getting the attention of Harry, Lavender and Ron.
"Don't know what you mean love" Y/N said with a smile, instantly communicating through legilimency.
Not here. I'll explain later.
Hermione nodded and continued eating.

Harry had to use the bathroom as the other four continued to the classroom. They entered and sat with the rest of the class and noticed Professor Lupin wasn't there. Y/N then realised it was the day after a full moon. He doubted Lupin would be here.
"I wonder where the Professor is?" Hermione said sitting next to Y/N as Lavender sat next to Ron.
"Sick" Y/N muttered to himself absentmindedly as he read ahead in the textbook. Before Hermione could quiz him Professor Snape had stormed into the class room, magically shuttering the window shutters closed before turning on a projector, a picture of a werewolf appearing.
"Wha..."
Before Hermione could continue Y/N spoke to her telepathically.
I need you to trust me. Sev's not in a good way, just don't ask him anything about what happens. I'll explain after.
Hermione looked at her boyfriend puzzled before nodding and quickly pecking his lips.
"Turn to page 394" Snape said with an even angrier tone than usual. It wasn't enough having that lycanthropic bastard in the castle, but now Dumbledore was mocking Snape by making his take Lupin's classes.
Snape's anger peaked just as Harry walked in the door and said loudly:
"Sorry Professor Lupin I just-"
He stopped dead looking at Snape as Snape glared back at him.
"What are you doing here?" Harry asked rudely.
"Uh Harry" Y/N muttered with a scowl. He knew Snape disliked Harry at the best of times. This wasn't going to end well.
"I should ask you the same Potter. 10 points from Gryffindor for your tardiness. Sit down."
"Where's Professor Lupin?" Harry continued, jumping as he heard Y/N growl in his head:
Sit the fuck down!
Severus though was loud in his communication:
"Your professor finds himself unable to teach at the present moment..." Snape glanced at Y/N, which Hermione noticed before continuing:
"Suffice to say I will be taking this lesson. Page 394."
"Werewolves? But we aren't due to start nocturnal creatures for weeks!" Lavender called out.
Draco howled from the back of the class, garnering laughs from the Slytherin knuckleheads around him.
"Quiet! Now apart from Ms Granger and Mr L/N who could answer in their sleep, who out of the rest of you can tell me the difference between a werewolf and an animagus?" Snape asked coldly, walking up and down the classroom. Lavender raised her hand, but was ignored, Snape adding:
"No one? How disappointing"
"Please sir. An animagus chooses to change its form. A werewolf has no choice and no control. It would attack its best friend if it could" Lavender answered confidently. Snape though rounded on her:
"That is the second time you've spoken out of tune Ms. Brown. Are you incapable of remaining quiet or must you insist on being an insufferable know it all?"
Lavender jumped at the Professor's fury. Snape had never snapped at Lav like that. Harry, Ron, Draco Yes. Not Lav.
"Sir" Y/N spoke up. The two made eye contact before Snape's glare softened slightly. He sighed
"Fine. I apologise Ms Brown, if I was too harsh."
The rest of the class were stunned. What sway did Y/N hold over Snape? Had he placed him under the imperious curse? Snape never apologised to anyone. Ever. They were snapped from their shock as he barked again:
"The rest of you, with the exception of Ms Granger and Mr L/N, will give me a two foot scroll by Monday on werewolves with particular emphasis on recognising them. Ms Brown you are exempt as well as you have already answered the question."
Lavender was still teary eyed but smiled at the Professor. She knew it was his way of an apology. Harry though yelled out extremely annoyed:
"But sir tomorrow is Quidditch!"
"Best be careful then Potter. Loss of limb is no excuse" Snape growled, before beginning a long and dry lecture on werewolves.

After class Y/N and Hermione went to the library, while the other three went to the common room.
Y/N explained to Hermione about the horrific bullying Snape had experienced at the hands Lupin, James Potter, Sirius Black and Peter Pettigrew.
"That's ghastly" Hermione said, feeling terrible for her boyfriend's Godfather.
"Yeah. He was completely isolated, bullied relentlessly day after day, and never did anyone do anything about it. It's no wonder he went where he went at the start of the war" Y/N practically snarled, pulled from his darkening mood by Hermione squeezing his hand. Y/N smiled and continued:
"He's been getting worse all year. It's really affected him, Remus being back. I think it's triggering a lot of bad memories for him. Obviously please keep it to yourself. But that's why I'm not exactly endeared to Lupin at the moment."
Hermione smiled sadly and nodded.
"Of course, but can I ask, what was up with the lesson today? How did you know Lupin would be sick?"
Y/N opened his mouth but hesitated. He had been sworn to secrecy, not that he would ever out someone luke that, despite how he felt about Remus. But he should have known his brilliant and astute lover would figure things out on her own:
"There's other things to say love. But I can't. I've been sworn to secrecy and-"
Y/N was silenced by Hermione's dainty fingertip pressing against his lips as she smiled lovingly at him:
"I understand, my love. You're a man of your word, it's one of the things I love about you, your sense of honour. But I think I may have figured it out anyway."
Y/N chuckled and replied:
"I knew you would love. Like I always say, you're brilliant. I know you won't say anything."
Hermione awwed and leant in to kiss her boyfriend lovingly before they were tutted by an unimpressed Madam Pince.
