39 The Meeting of the Righteous

Albus Dumbledore was full of apprehension as he stood in an ornate underground chamber in London.

He had summoned the people assembled here, all key stakeholders in Y/N's welfare and development. These people would no doubt be the backbone of the reformed Order of the Phoenix. Dumbledore knew it would be a matter of time until he was forced to reform it. It was a forgone conclusion that Voldemort would rise again.

It was close to 7:15pm when the last of the invited parties had arrived. Albus stood, surrounded by some of the most powerful and influential individuals in magical Britain, or at least those affiliated with the light. He sighed. He had much to disclose, and none of it would be easy listening. He put on a fake smile and spoke loudly:

"I thank you all for attending this, the Meeting of the Righteous. Firstly, I think introductions are in order. I am Albus Dumbledore, as you all are aware. From my left we have 311, the head of the Department of Mysteries, Jacob L/N, Alastair Moody and Firenze of the Forbidden Forest Centaur herd. Behind 311 are two Unspeakables, under a glamour, who must remain nameless."

Each individual nodded as they were introduced. Albus continued:

"Next to Firenze we have Minerva McGonagall, Severus Snape and Remus Lupin, all current staff at Hogwarts. We then have Kingsley Shacklebolt and Nymphadora Tonks, both aurors within the Ministry. To their left are Sam Winchester and Bobby Singer, who are here representing the Hunting community of Britain."

After Bobby and Sam had looked around the room nodding, Albus cleared his throat as he held his hand towards a dark haired man wearing a trench coat:

"For those of you who don't know, this is Castiel. He is an-ahem..."

Albus cleared his throat again before saying somewhat nervously:

"... an Angel, an emissary from Heaven."

Several members of the room went wide eyed and gasped. Castiel stood motionless before the room flashed like lightning, Castiel's wings being visible momentarily:

He then replied almost robotically:

"I come with the authority of the Father. We have watched over Y/N since the day of his birth. He is the reason my brothers and sisters are walking among you for the first time in two thousand years."

The room was deathly silent at the earth shaking revelations the angel had revealed. He spoke as if he was discussing the weather. Eventually Albus spoke again:

"Yes, we will get to that momentarily. Uh- next we have Vano, King of the Romany and Farnor, King of the Goblins and finally Dean and Penny L/N and Arthur Weasley."

Dean and Arthur had a look of shock on their faces from Castiel's words, Penny was likewise stunned, a single thought reverberating in her mind- why is it always Cutie Pie?

Dumbledore offered a sad smile and continued:

"I thank you all for coming tonight. I asked you here in the spirit of friendship, that we may work together to combat the darkness that is rising. Make no mistake- Lord Voldemort will return."

A sense of fear filled the room, though it remained silent apart from Dumbledore's hopeful tone:

"Now to begin. For the past decade, myself and the four to my left, have constituted a secret council known as the Council of the Phoenix. We have monitored the progress of a boy, a very special boy, Y/N L/N, youngest brother of Jacob and Dean here.

What is not known to many of those outside this room is the existence of a prophecy. A prophecy that speaks about the rise of the one who will kill the Dark Lord. He is dubbed the Prophesied One."

"But he is gone Dumbledore" the goblin king huffed. "He was vanquished by Harry Potter."

"No, good king, he was not. His mortal shell was destroyed when he attempted to kill Harry Potter, but by unknown means his spirit survived" Dumbledore explained.

"Twice in the past two years young Y/N has defeated Voldemort. Once as a wraith attached to a dark wizard and once more last year as a memory trapped from Tom Riddle's school days. This was hidden from public knowledge, it was when Y/N killed the Basilisk which had been hunting Muggleborn students of the school, as the Daily Prophet announced."

Gasps were heard around the room at the revelations of the Dark Lord's survival.

"What's this prophecy though Albus?" Bobby the gruff, no nonsense hunter asked. "The Prophesied One is mentioned in the uh- expanded version of Tycho Dodonus, but I wasn't aware of any other references?"

"It was made within the Department of Mysteries on the day of Y/N's birth" 311 spoke suddenly, his mask changing frequently as he did.

"It was made by our finest Seer, Hannah Bachel Malakh"

311 held his hand out to the side and the two Unspeakables separated. A woman, not previously noticed by any in the room, stepped forward from behind the Unspeakables.

She smiled before speaking with a thick Israeli accent:

"The prophecy has been protected from outside ears since the day I made it, apart from a select few. I still remember each word as if it was yesterday..."

Hannah paused, an expression of being emotionally moved crossing her face, before she spoke forcefully:

"The protector of the chosen one arises.... he will be marked through torture and pain.... youngest of three and the sacrifice of the father....he will be stronger than even the dark lord.... and will kill him when the chosen one cannot... but he maybe even darker.... only a single choice can decide his path... power for love or power for ambition... he alone can decide."

The occupants of the room who were unaware of the prophecy looked shocked.

Bobby thought back to the last time he
saw Y/N, close to five years prior, when he and Jacob had had one hell of a bust up.

"That's why you were so hard on him Jacob?" He asked his estranged friend.

Jacob looked at Bobby, then around the room, he nodded silently, a look between shame and regret on his face. Albus spoke quickly:

"All that Jacob did was under my direct orders. Y/N needed to be made strong. Strong enough to defeat Voldemort."

"Why though? Why is it Cutie Pie that has to be the one to kill the Dark Lord? Why is it him and no one else? Are we even certain he will return to power?" Penny asked with a voice full of emotion. Before Albus could reply, 311 spoke loudly:

"And I saw that one of his heads was, as it were, wounded to death, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world wondered after the beast. And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?"

The room went silent before Bobby spoke up:

"Revelation 13"

311 nodded.

"Voldemort is the beast with seven heads, the one who will rise from a deadly wound. Only Y/N will be able to stop him."

"But the prophecy spoke of Y/N possibly becoming Dark Lord as well? Worse than Voldemort?" Bobby asked with concern.

Hannah nodded, and spoke with conviction in her thick accent:

"I witnessed it all. Y/N on the path of righteousness, Y/N on the path of evil. Were he to fall and let the monster within consume him, the world would enter a darkness it could never escape."

"How is it my godson is this powerful?" Arthur asked, speaking for the first time, feeling exceedingly inadequate given the company he was in.

"I mean to kill a Basilisk, let alone-"

"He has already done more than that" 311 said in his usual monotonous tone.

"He is the one enacting divine justice in Knockturn alley. He is the one who saw the iniquity in 16 souls in Azkaban and found them wanting. He is the one who only this past Monday eliminated a feral vampire nest single handedly. He i-"

"What?" Sam and Bobby roared at the same time.

"How many were in there?" Sam asked in equal measures of disbelief of, and concern for, his young student.

"24" 311 answered nonchalantly.

"Merlin's sweaty ballsack!!" Bobby exclaimed.

"I only taught him about Vampires on Sunday" Sam added, still in shock at Y/N's actions.

"We weren't scheduled to start practical applications until this week."

"Hell of a teacher Sammy" Jacob chuckled. "My brother sliced and diced everyone of those fangheads. They were working to expand their numbers. For the rest of you- the hunters, myself, Mad-Eye, we've all been tracking huge numbers of dark creatures pouring into Britain over the last three months. We believe it's connected. That Voldemort is building his army in preparation for his return. That Sirius Black's escape is connected to this and he has been ordered to kill Harry Potter and my brother."

"Are we sure he will return?" Arthur Weasley asked, still struggling to absorb the information he had been presented with.

"I have seen it!" A face spoke loudly from the fireplace in the corner of the room.

"And you are?" Farnor asked the flame wavened face.

"This is Y/N, Dean and Jacob's grandfather" Albus said in a tone that was difficult to interpret.

"This is Gellert Grindelwald."

"So the Prophet was right for once" Bobby chuckled.

"Yes. I've helped train my grandson. And I've seen in my visions my grandson fight, and kill, Voldemort. It is too early to be sure of much else, but this I am sure of."

"How though? How is this kid so strong, even with training, even with genetics. I mean how old is he now?" Bobby questioned.

"Fourteen tomorrow" Penny spoke up sadly as Dean stroked her back. Why was it always her Cutie Pie.

Albus looked at each member of the group. Here came the hard part.

"We, the Council of the Phoenix that is, were recently able to identify the source of Y/N's incredible power. Y/N has, as unbelievable as it may seem, an Archon."

Albus spoke with regret. The room went silent, some faces looked confused, some fearful. Once voice spoke quickly:

"Balls! We may have to kill the kid."

This set off a chain of hostilities. At Bobby's words Severus, Dean, Penny, Jacob and Mad-Eye instantly drew their wands, causing the two hunters to do the same. Bobby instantly tried to clarify his thoughts and ease the situation:

"Whoa whoa whoa. I don't like the idea. I'm not trying to be an arsehole here, but an Archon?! There hasn't been one in centuries. And the last time there was it took Merlin himself to them down. If the kid goes dark he could torch half the planet."

"The prophecy spoke of the child himself choosing his path. We believe Y/N has already chosen." Albus said calmly, walking between the two groups with his hands raised, pleading for calm.

"How could you know?" Sam asked with concern. He really liked Y/N, he didn't want to believe he was full of darkness.

"He was a hatstall, at his sorting" McGonagall spoke up for the first time. "I've never seen anything like it in all my years. The Sorting Hat actually asked him which was more important, ambition or love. He chose love. He has a girlfriend, a sweet girl named Hermione Granger. I've seen first hand, she has an affect on him, helps him control and quiet his rage. He chose love to protect her."

Hannah moved to speak, but stopped as 311 raised a hand to her. It was unnoticed by everyone in the room being too focused on the conversation at hand.

—~—

"Nothing can happen to that girl!" Bobby said quickly. "If she is his anchor she must be protected at all times."

"What do we need to do?" Sam asked with resolve. Albus smiled.

"I asked you all here as representatives of the magical communities of Britain and it pleases me to see us all come together for a common good. The council will continue to monitor the boy. Bobby, Sam- do not speak to other hunters of what we have discussed but keep us monitored of dark creature activity."

The hunters nodded.

"Castiel, I know your mandate is only to observe but I would like if you could meet the boy, tomorrow in Sam's lesson with him. Knowing he has an angel on his shoulder may do him some good."

Castiel's eyes rolled up in the back of his head as an otherworldly, ghostly whispering filled the room. His eyes rolled back to the front as he replied:

"Yes, I can do that."

Albus smiled and turned to the two kings.

"King Vano-"

Before Albus could continue the Romany King had already cut him off:

"Y/N is an honoured man of our tribe Dumbledore and will remain so. He is trusted and admired by my people."

The headmaster smiled and nodded.

"King Farnor, I would request that Gringott's readminister it's right by conquest policy. Quietly. We are planning, when Voldemort rises, to use Y/N to attack the wealthiest pureblood families who support him. Cutting off his funding limits his support. We need to be proactive in this."

The Goblin King sneered.

"I can do this, Albus. For the boy."

Albus smiled and continued:

"Kingsley, Tonks. Please continue to monitor the Ministry. Keep us abreast of Fudge's machinations. Dean and Penny, I need you to gather the Cursed Crusaders. We need you to monitor the Granger household and keep them safe. That family must be protected at all costs."

Dean and Penny both nodded in agreement.

"Finally, I have been in negotiations with the Ministry and other wizarding schools to reestablish the TriWizard Tournament next year. Bring in more allies from overseas. The more allies we have the better. I'm glad we can all work together here. Make no mistake, darkness is coming and we must all choose between what is right and what is easy."

311, Hannah and the two Unspeakables had apparated back to the Department of Mysteries following the conclusion of the meeting. The Unspeakables left and the room was silent, 311's mask slowly verberating before he stated:

"Speak."

Hannah replied:

"You know what I saw. What the prophecy contained. If the Prophesied One chooses evil the world will be plunged into a darkness it can never recover from."

"This was covered in the meeting. Speak your true concern" 311 snapped in frustration.

"Why did you stop me from telling them?
Hannah asked worriedly:

"The choice has not yet been made!"
