122 The Book of the Dead and the Book of Life
Y/N and Hermione were sat in the Headmaster's office- Albus explained what had happened with the Archon.
"I killed Anna?" Y/N asked sadly.
"No Y/N. The archon did!" Severus said sympathetically. Y/N nodded and turned back to the Headmaster:
"So you and Ruby had that whole thing planned in case of an emergency?"
Albus looked to Y/N.
"We did. You have to understand Y/N it wasn't about trust. We couldn't tell you or-"
"Or the archon would have known as well. No I get it Albus- I'm not upset. It was a good plan. At least Alastair is dead. Hell must be in disarray."
"How are you though? When you woke briefly you and Ms Granger discussed fleeing?"
Y/N looked down.
"Sorry Albus. I'm ashamed. The guilt was overwhelming. I wasn't thinking straight."
Hermione hugged into Y/N tighter as the Headmaster and Potions Professor looked at Y/N sympathetically.
"I can't begin to understand. But can you fill us in on... everything?" Albus chuckled.
Y/N kissed Hermione and looked at his professors.
"So to start with the three day coma- I was sent five years into the future...."
Y/N told them everything. Lucifer, Y/N's death being the final seal, what happens to the world if he flees, Heaven, Adam, Lillith, the blood line, the Knights, him being the rightful Heir of Gryffindor and Merlin- the rightful King- all of it! It was a lot to wrap their heads around. The two Professors looked at Y/N speechless.
"Yeah it's a lot to take in. Hermione and I have to see the Goblins in a minute, then plan for our trip away. As we have both finished all assignments for the year may we be excused from classes going forward? All we need to do is revise for our exams and we are both responsible enough to do that by ourselves."
The Headmaster nodded and Y/N turned to Severus.
"Drop your shields for a minute Sev. There's something I want to give you."
Severus nodded and released his occlumency shields. Y/N sent him the memory of Thomas thanking him and saying he knew Severus would take care of Y/N. A tear rolled down Snape's face.

Y/N and Hermione apparated to Gringott's foyer where they were greeted with bowed heads from the staff and whispers from the normal customers. They headed straight to Marruk's office.
"My Lord and Lady what a pleasant surprise" The goblin sneered in his most cheerful manner.
—~—
A ring sat on Marruk's desk. It had been retrieved from a special secure vault.
"Are you ready my Lord?" the gremlin asked apprehensively. Y/N nodded and slipped it onto the middle finger on his right hand next to his Lordship ring.
The ring shone bright red and gold, illuminating the room before settling again. Marruk smiled.
"Gringott's recognises Lord Y/N L/N, Archduke of Magical Great Britain as the only and rightful Heir of Godric Gryffindor. House Gryffindor will henceforth be amalgamated into House L/N as will all assets, possessions and rights therein!"
Marruk smiled his creepy goblin smile. "Now the formalities are out the way would you like me to compile an inventory of the Gryffindor vault?"
"Yes thank you Marruk. I need a portkey to Giza, Egypt for Monday as well, can it be delivered to Albus's office 9am Monday morning? I will need a hotel floor booked out as well- make it the best one you can and pay whatever needs to be paid to get it done- and please add Walden MacNair's vault to my conquest vault!"
The goblin noted everything and sneered.
"Of course my Lord!"
Hermione was anxious to get back to school and study so Y/N apparated her to the library before leaving again. He went to his estate and notified Jackson he needed three volunteers to run security for a week in Egypt before returning to school.

The next morning was interesting. Gringotts had released a statement revealing Y/N had been recognised as the Heir of Gryffindor after being accepted by the Ring of Gryffindor which could only be worn by the one true heir.
The Daily Prophet had ran it as their front page story. As well as being the rightful owner now of the Sword of Gryffindor Y/N could add Heir of Gryffindor to his post nominals and had the right to a perennial founders chair on the Hogwarts School Governor's board. It had been vacant for centuries. The voting rights of the historical seat of Gryffindor kept vacant in the Wizengamot also passed to Y/N.
Y/N finished reading the article to look up to a hall of gaping stares. He leaned into his girlfriend.
"You think they would be used to it by now."
—~—
It was Monday morning and Y/N had shrunk his and Hermione's luggage and they headed to Albus's office hand in hand. They apparated in just as Griphook had appeared.
"One portkey to Giza my Lord as requested!"
He placed a book on the Headmaster's desk.
"It leaves in ten minutes"
Griphook took his leave and moments later the Floo network came to life. Jackson stepped through first, then Vinda, then Benny.
They took a look at Y/N and Hermione and the two men dropped to a knee, Vinda curtsying with a bowed head.
"My Lord and Lady" the three spoke in almost perfect unison. Hermione was shocked but Y/N chuckled.
"That won't be necessary while we are away. Thank you for volunteering!"
"Of course my Lord" Jackson smiled.
"Hermione this is Jackson Selwyn and Vinda Rosier. You already know Benny" Y/N smiled.
Hermione smiled shaking their hands.
"Y/N didn't tell me you joined the Bearers, Benny" she giggled.
"You'll meet them all in time love. Jack, Vinda and Benny are three of my most loyal acolytes. You ok Albus?" Y/N asked, noticing the headmaster staring at one of his acolytes intently.
"I'm sorry Ms Rosier but you are the spitting image of-"
"My grandmother, Oui. I never met 'er but I 'ave been told. She disowned 'er son, my father, after 'e fell in love with a nonmagic, my mother" Vinda said sadly.
"I can't help but smile. Vinda was Gellert's most loyal follower. It's ironic that her granddaughter is so loyal to his grandson who is fighting for the antithesis of what your grandparents fought for" Albus chuckled.
Y/N smiled as did Vinda. Y/N turned to Hermione.
"Ok baby you need to hold on to me tight, I'll bring us down when we arrive in Giza, but it takes a few times to get used to travelling by portkey."
Hermione nodded and wrapped her arm around Y/N's neck as he placed his round her waist and held her tightly.
"See you in a week Albus!" Y/N smiled.
The five took hold of the book as the room started spinning- Hermione was unable to help but scream.
—~—
Hermione opened her eyes to see them descending on a city that didn't look anything like what she was used to in England.
The pyramids were just outside the town and she admired the scenery as they lowered into an open market, but no one seemed to notice them.
"Hell of a view isn't it babe?" Y/N chuckled.
Hermione smiled at Y/N who seemed to be riding a bicycle with his legs as they descended- her arms were wrapped round his neck and his arm firmly held her waist. They landed gently and she breathed a sigh of relief.
"How is it none of these people have noticed us?" She asked as she reluctantly released her boyfriend.
"Concealment spell around the landing site. Cost an arm and a leg but better than starting a public panic" Y/N chuckled before turning to his acolytes.
"You three ready? Remember why you are here" Y/N spoke to his followers, with a hint of sternness that surprised Hermione.
"Running security for Lady Granger" Jackson nodded. "She's to be guarded at all times."
"Thank you my friends. We've got the top floor booked at the Ritz-Carlton so you all get luxury suites- but we are taking the honeymoon suite" Y/N chuckled, Hermione glanced at Vinda who winked suggestively causing Hermione to light up like a Christmas tree.
Half an hour later they were booked in and settled in their rooms. Benny was taking first watch in the halls and Hermione looked around in awe at their room.
"This is amazing baby. We have a pool in our room!" She gushed.
Y/N chuckled.
"Yeah. If it was just me I probably would have just set up a tent near the pyramids, but I wanted you to have the best love."
They walked over to admire the view of the Giza skyline and the pyramids.

The next few days were spent relaxing. The couple went to museums, restaurants and stores- both magical and muggle. They had bought a lot, anything Hermione showed an interest in was purchased for her no matter how much she argued, and they had gone to a number of ancient sites as well.
"It amazes me that Thoth walked these lands thousands of years ago but I just spoke to him a week ago" Y/N had chuckled to Hermione.
She occasionally caught sight of one of their bodyguards, but for the most part they kept their distance well. Friday arrived and Y/N was up and ready before Hermione woke.
He leant down and woke her with a gentle kiss, she smiled and kissed back before opening her eyes.
"I'm off looking for the temple babe. Vinda is gonna come sit with you and Benny and Jackson will be patrolling the halls, ok?"
"You are really being paranoid!" Hermione giggled.
Y/N smiled and kissed her again.
"You're my Grand Consort baby. It's my job to be paranoid."
He didn't want to alarm her but he knew they had been followed shortly after arriving. He didn't know if the shadows were friendly or hostile but he wasn't taking any chances. He kissed Hermione once more, notified the others he was going and apparated to the Giza plateau.
—~—
It was barely 9am but the plateau was already packed. He discreetly pulled his wand.
Somnum
The guards and guests around the front of the Sphinx promptly dropped to the ground asleep. Y/N looked up at the majestic stone beast in front of him. He was filled with awe.
He stood between its paws as instructed by Thoth.
Revelio
A hidden staircase leading down appeared in front of him. He smiled and descended the staircase to be met with a solid wall and a handprint groove on the wall.
He held his wand to his left hand.
Diffindo
He sliced across his palm and held it up to the groove. The wall flickered in front of him and he walked through it before healing his hand.
Thoth said his blood was the key. He looked around stunned at the exquisite chamber in front of him.
It looked like it had been formed yesterday. He walked toward the open door when he heard a rustle. He turned but saw nothing. He heard a faint whisper though.
~Food~
He turned around again, unsheathing his blade.
~Food~
~I must eat~
Two distinct voices. He suddenly saw blackness coming towards him and thrust. He heard a shriek as a sheet fell back to the floor.
It was a Lethifold. He cast his Patronus, trapping the other one in the corner of the chamber and whispered to the creature.
I am going to open a portal. You will go through it. The place you are going is a sanctuary. You will be nourished magically there but will not be able to hurt anyone else. This is your only choice. I do not want to kill you, I do not want to hurt you, but as you just saw I can.
~I...agree~
Y/N released his Patronus and opened a portal to the dark hominid enclosure. The lethifold begrudgingly entered through it.
Y/N sighed in relief as he closed the portal and continued down a long hall. Lethifold were beyond dangerous as 5X creatures but he didn't want to hurt one if he didn't have to. As a whisperer it caused him physical pain to do so. He returned his thoughts to his present situation and inspected the walls. They were covered in hieroglyphs.
Their intricacies were incredible. He reached the end to find a room just as stunning with two statues, both holding a slab with a book on top. He grabbed them both.
The Book of the Dead and the Book of Life. They were incredible. He placed them in his pouch and turned to leave the chamber. Once he had exited he turned and placed his hand on the wall-entrance. Solid stone again. He smiled to himself at Thoth's ingenuity.
He walked up the stairway and exited the chamber to see a woman and four men staring and grinning at him.
"I believe you have something I want Y/N" the woman smirked forebodingly.
"Who are you and why should I care?" Y/N asked fiercely.
"My name is Lilith and I-"
She was cut off by a killing curse that narrowly missed her and hit the wizard just to her left. Two more hit the wizards on either side of her and she apparated- the last wizard was met with a blue fireball hitting him in the chest. He screamed in agony as he was slowly turned to ash. Y/N apparated to the hotel room and saw Hermione and Vinda smiling and talking.
"Jackson, Benny!" Y/N yelled causing the two women to jump and the men to race in the door.
"My Lord is everything-"
"We're compromised. I was just attacked by Lilith and four Knights. Pack now, we leave in three minutes!"
The three Phoenix Bearers nodded and raced to their rooms, Y/N unsheathing and waving his wands. Their possessions magically packed themselves, shrunk and flew into his pouch.
"Baby are you ok?" Hermione asked worried.
"The Knights are dead but Lilith escaped love. We need to leave, now!"
Hermione nodded as other three entered the room and Y/N opened a portal to the Headmaster's office. The four walked through before Y/N ran and dove through before it closed. He landed on his back in front of Albus's desk. He looked up to see the shocked looks on the faces of his acolytes and girlfriend.
"Why did you dive through like that... Uh My Lord?" Benny asked puzzled, cocking his head.
"I'm still not sure how to hold it open and travel through at the same time... if it closed on me while I was passing through it would have been the snip... and I don't mean a vasectomy" Y/N chuckled from the floor until he saw the angered look on Hermione's face. He held his hands up and Benny and Jackson pulled him to his feet.
"Sorry for the intrusion Albus" Y/N snickered at the Headmaster who simply smiled and nodded.
"I got attacked at the Sphinx by Lilith and the Knights. She wanted the Books Thoth left for me. The four knights are dead but Lilith ran like a coward. Jack prepare the Bearers- there's a good chance there will be fallout" Y/N said resolutely to his right hand man who nodded and bowed before the three floo'd back to the manor.
