Y/N's eyes started to flutter. He was first aware of the dazzling brightness of the lights around him followed by an overwhelming pain in his head. He moaned as he woke up and realised he was in the hospital wing. Looking around, he still felt disorientated before he was engulfed by a sobbing bush of brown hair.

"Baby thank god. Professor Snape found us by the Black Lake unconscious. I was so scared when you wouldn't wake up. I thought the Dementors had...had..."

Hermione trailed off, sobbing, squeezing Y/N tight as the memories of the evening flooded back into his mind. The Dementors... the attack... the deal- how had Y/N escaped unscathed?

Y/N shot up off the bed and instantly started checking over Hermione.

"Baby are you ok? How do you feel? Are you-?"

Hermione grabbed his hands and kissed them looking him in the eye and trying to calm his panic.

"I'm fine baby. I'm ok. Something chased them away. We assumed it was you"

Hermione spoke in a voice as calm as she could manage. The only time Y/N showed the fear he was currently demonstrating was when Hermione was in danger. It must have gotten bad after she passed out.

Y/N suddenly gripped Hermione tight as he buried his face into her neck. He kissed her neck repeatedly as he spoke:

"No. No it wasn't me!"

She gripped him back as they just held each other, both relieved the other was safe and sound. Their loving tender moment was disturbed as the Minister and Severus entered the hospital wing and made a bee line directly for Y/N.

"Ah he's awake. How are you Archduke?"

Fudge didn't bother to hide the distain in his voice as he spoke.

Y/N looked across and glared at the Minister who sneered back at him before speaking again.

"Yes as I was saying Severus you will get Order of Merlin First Class for this. Capturing such a dangerous criminal."

"The fuck are you talking about?" Y/N asked as he stood on shaky legs and glared at the two men.

"Why Archduke, when Professor Snape found yourself, your Grand Consort and Harry you were all unconscious... along with Sirius Black. The Archduke and his Consort, associating with a violent escaped killer like Black, who is also your uncle... such a controversy..."

The Minister smirked menacingly and grinned as he did.

"Where is Black now?" Y/N asked angered but focused on the larger problems at the moment.

"On top of the castle my Lord. In approximately three minutes the Dementors are going to perform the kiss" Fudge chuckled.

"But he's innocent" Harry suddenly yelled in protest. Y/N glared at him.

"What are you taking about Harry?" The Minister asked as Dumbledore entered the hospital wing.

"It's true sir, he is innocent you've got the wrong man" Lavender said panicked.

"Confounded I'm afraid" Sev said sneering before looking at Y/N who had remained silent but stared at Snape. Just staring... in a manner that filled Severus with dread.

"We should return to the condemned. Come, Severus!" The Minister chuckled as he smirked at Y/N who was still silent, glaring.

"Yeah, best chase after your master... Professor" Y/N said coldly. Before Snape could reply the Headmaster spoke quickly:

"I'd ask you to pop out too Poppy. I need to talk to my students" Albus said to the matron who mumbled angrily and left. She huffed as she did and he shut the door.

"It's true sir it was Scabbers" Hermione spoke up.

"Scabbers?" Albus asked puzzled

"He's my rat sir. He's not really a rat. He was a rat. He was my brother Percy's rat. Then they gave him an owl...."

Ron was stoned off his head on a pain potion and mumbling.

"The point is we know the truth sir." Hermione said to Albus. "Please believe us!"

"I do Ms Granger but the word of two fourteen year old witches and two thirteen year old wizards will convince few others."

"But Y/N..." Harry said looking at Y/N

"The Archduke cannot petition for a convicted mass murderer to be released with no evidence, especially when the Archduke is related to said mass murderer. That is particularly the kind of abuse of power I am fighting against. All my credibility would be lost" Y/N answered, no discernible emotion in his voice.

"So you'll let him die? Your own uncle!" Harry screamed.

"Watch your tone with me BOY!" Y/N bellowed, his eyes darkening. He glared at Harry as he spoke again.

"You may have lost all faith in me but tell me, Hermione, Albus- have I ever not had a plan?"

"Never love" Hermione smiled. Albus chuckled as the bell tolled.

"Mysterious thing time. Powerful, when meddled with... dangerous. Sirius Black is in the topmost cell of the Dark Tower."

He turned around quickly and spoke with seriousness. "You both know the laws
Y/N, Ms Granger. You must not be seen. And you would do well I feel to return before this last chime. If not the consequences are too ghastly to discuss. If you succeed tonight more than one innocent life may be spared."

Y/N answered him quickly:

"They will be Albus and one guilty one has already been taken hasn't it?"

Albus chuckled.

"I thought that was you. Three turns should do it I think"

He winked at Hermione and nodded at Y/N before leaving and shutting the door.

"What the bloody hell was that about?" Ron asked. He was ignored.

"Alright you take Potter I'll take Lav" Y/N said to Hermione before looking at Ron.

"You're injured Weasley, although you would be useless anyway!"

The others looked at him. Y/N seemed to be in a particularly bad mood.

"Baby..." Hermione said as they both placed chains over their partner's necks. Harry and Lavender stood there silently, feeling completely confused and overwhelmed.

Hermione slapped Harry's hand as he went to touch the device she had pulled from under her top.

"Are these-?" Lavender asked asked wide eyed. She had had her suspicions all year but didn't ask out of respect.

"Yes" Y/N interrupted before continuing to Hermione.

"On three baby. One, two, three!"

Harry and Lavender looked shocked as everything seemed to go backwards around them fast. They looked around and it was now daylight outside.

"What just happened? Where's Ron?" Harry asked shocked

Lavender stood there silently. Harry was ignored.

"7:30! Where were we at 7:30 babe?" Hermione asked Y/N.

"Hagrid's hut. Come on. We can't be seen" Y/N answered his lover.

Y/N cast a disillusionment charm over them and grabbed Harry's hand.

"Babe take hold of Lav and let's go. I'll tell you when to go and stop in your mind guys. Be silent!"

"Why did you grab my hand Y/N?" Harry asked him.

"I don't trust you to lead Potter and you're not holding my girlfriends hand. Now shut up!"

Y/N led the way through the school and out across the grounds. He held tight to Harry's hand as he communicated telepathically with the girls. They arrived at the edge of the Forbidden Forest with no issues. Y/N led them about twenty feet in before he released the charm and turned- intently watching Hagrid's hut.

"What is going on?" Harry asked.

Y/N sighed in frustration knowing he had to talk to Harry. He tried to be civil as he could despite the fact he wanted to knock the boy's teeth down his throat.

"These are time turners Potter. It's how Hermione and I take so many classes. No one is allowed to know. They are illegal. Hermione's was granted by the Ministry. Mine is well... mine. No one can know about these!" Y/N spoke firmly.

Harry just nodded.

"No wonder you guys were always busy and tired" Lav chuckled. She then got a mischievous glint in her eye and spoke again.

"I thought it was just your sex life!"

"Well that too" Y/N chuckled as Hermione slapped his arm.

Harry ignored them as he looked at Buckbeak who was happily laying in the pumpkin patch, chained to a stake.

"C'mon let's get Buckbeak!"

He rushed forward but only made it three steps before Y/N grabbed him by the collar and pulled him back hard- throwing him to the ground. Harry landed with a thud as the girls just watched. They could practically taste the tension in the air between the two boys.

"Potter are you a big dick or a little dick?" Y/N asked with no evident emotion. Harry lit up like a tomato.

"Oh well I'm... I guess...."

"It was a rhetorical question dickhead! On this mission I'm the big dick and you're the little dick. You need to sit down, shut up and do what I say when I say. Unless you want to get caught and go to Azkaban for meddling with time. Trust me when I say you don't have the stones to survive there, boy!"

Harry didn't answer, he just nodded beginning to realise how badly he had messed up. The girls looked and they observed Hagrid's hut as the four of them and Ron entered it.

"Pettigrew's in there right now!" Harry scowled.

"Focus on the mission Potter! We need to save Buckbeak and Sirius. Anything else is just chatter!"

"Well why aren't we getting Buckbeak?" Harry snapped at Y/N.

Y/N pointed to the Minister, the executioner and the Headmaster who were approaching via the path

"Because those pricks need to see him!"

"Why aren't we leaving...?" Hermione asked. She looked down at a distinctive stone and threw it before picking up and throwing another. The five friends came out Hagrid's back door a moment later.

"Get down!" Y/N whisper snapped at the three of them. The three dropped quickly.

PastHermione grabbed pastY/N's hand and turned around. She looked directly at Y/N.

He blew her a kiss, winked at her, placed a finger to his lips and motioned to her to go up the hill. She smiled and nodded, winking back. As soon as they were safely gone he levitated the chain off of Buckbeak's neck and opened a portal next to him.

Go through it boy!

Buckbeak stood and walked through, appearing next to the group of four in the forest.

"You three go in towards the lake with Bucky. I'll be there in a second!"

"Baby?" Hermione whisper-asked.

"He's a Death Eater and kills creatures for sport, love. He doesn't get to live" Y/N answered calmly.

Harry and Lavender looked at each other wide eyed. Hermione sighed and nodded, whispering "Don't be long" and kissed Y/N on the cheek. Y/N nodded and then stroked the Hippogriff, adding with a smile:

"Buckbeak, keep them safe until I return!"

Buckbeak squawked and tapped his front feet in agreement. Y/N slowly and quietly stalked towards the hut.

"Check the skies if you must" he heard the Headmaster say. He saw MacNair slice into a pumpkin and pointed his wand just as Dumbledore spoke:

"Oh executioner, your services are no longer required. Thank you."

Cor Prohibere

MacNair dropped his axe and grabbed his chest with both hands. He gasped, wide eyed with a look of terror, before falling backwards to the ground. The Minister rushed over.

"My god he's dead. He's dead! He's stone dead!"

It appeared to all the world like a massive heart attack. Dumbledore however glanced directly at Y/N in the forest.

"How tragic. Hagrid could you please fetch a sheet to cover the poor man? I will notify Poppy at once."

Y/N quickly caught up to the others. Nothing was said. They arrived at the Black Lake and set up a couple of hundred feet across from where they fought/will fight the Dementors.

"Now what?" Lavender asked

"We wait. Hati!" Y/N spoke loudly.

The Direwolf appeared next to Y/N and howled, bowing before licking both Y/N and Hermione. Y/N smiled and connected his forehead to his companion before speaking as he patted.

"Hati this is Buckbeak. Buckbeak this is Hati. Buckbeak you will be living at my estate from now on. You are one of our babies now. Hermione and I- Hati is now your brother."

The Direwolf howled and panted overjoyed and Buckbeak squawked and tapped his feet happily, Hermione walking up next to Y/N.

Buckbeak quickly nuzzled his head into Hermione who giggled and stroked him lovingly.

As they waited Buckbeak and Hati happily chased and chomped a flock of bats who were flying through the forest.

"At least they're having fun" Hermione giggled as she kissed Y/N's cheek. Her tone soon became much more serious though.

"So what exactly happened... uh happens here?" Hermione asked before continuing:

"I remember feeling myself pass out in pain and then woke up in the hospital!"

She noticed Y/N tense up at her questions.

"Uh... the same love. Just remember when it goes down keep back ok... I saw a bright light so I assume it was myself firing a Patronus off to get rid of the Dementors. You just stay back with Harry and Lav!"

"But I can produce a patronus? Hermione asked.

"So can I!" Harry agreed.

"Don't fucking eavesdrop, Potter!" Y/N snapped, before adding gently.

"It's extremely dangerous love. Stay back, please?

Y/N was trying to plead with them but sound calm. He was failing. Hermione knew instantly Y/N was hiding something, which wasn't like him. He was always honest with her completely. She didn't push it for now but she was worried.

Finally after what felt like hours they saw Sirius approach the Black Lake and collapse. Dementors started to approach him. Y/N spoke quickly.

"Ok Hati, Buckbeak, you two stay here with the guys and stay quiet ok. Baby stay with Harry and Lav, I'll be back!"

As Y/N crawled forward Hermione signalled to Harry to follow him quietly. He and Lavender nodded and did so- they hid behind Y/N as he got out from cover and waited.

Hermione, Harry and Lavender watched in horror as the scene unfolded in front of them. Dementors attacked Sirius as the teens arrived. They watched Y/N go crazy- he was firing off Patronus after Patronus as he slashed and stabbed Dementors. Hermione was casting her patronus as well but quickly stopped as she dropped to her knees. Harry quickly face planted to the ground unconscious as Hermione quickly followed him in falling to the floor.

Then they heard and saw it all- what Y/N was trying to hide from them. They saw the Dementors all stop dead and look at pastY/N. They heard pastY/N speak.

"You hate me. I have killed many of you. Spare her and you can have me."

Hermione gasped and covered her mouth with her hand as he sheathed his wand and his blade.

"No tricks, no fighting back. Spare her and you can give me the kiss. You can take my soul"

Hermione instantly teared up as Harry and Lavender's mouths both dropped open in shock. They looked at pastY/N drop to his knees, screaming in agony as Dementor after Dementor attacked him. He did nothing to defend himself. He just yelled in pain.

Y/N stood out and cast a massive Patronus. Hermione and Harry both ran out and stood next to him- they cast theirs as well. The three Patroni merged into a giant ball of light and it expanded- the Dementors all fleeing in terror as pastY/N fell to his back unconscious. As the light dissipated Y/N stood there with his head down.

"Baby" he whispered to Hermione as she wiped her eyes saying quickly:

"We need to hide before Sev gets here"

Y/N nodded and walked back. They resumed sitting in their little alcove. Lavender and Harry just looked at Y/N speechless. Hermione wouldn't look at him. Y/N sighed and looked down saddened. He whispered:

"What would either of you have done?"

A couple of moments later Severus appeared. He rushed to check Y/N and cried in relief when both he and Hermione were ok. He gently picked Hermione up, levitated both Y/N and Harry and kicked Sirius in the side hard before spitting on him and levitating him.

None of the four said a word until he was gone. Y/N spoke up.

"Hati guard these two and don't move any of you. Hermione you're with me. Buckbeak!"

Y/N climbed on Buckbeak's back and helped Hermione up before Buckbeak took off to the sky. They rode in silence. Hermione held onto Y/N's waist tight and buried her head into his back.

They landed on the astronomy tower and watched as Snape and the Minister levitated Sirius into the cell and left. They then flew down to the Dark tower. They jumped off Buckbeak and Hermione pulled her wand.

Bombarda

The door flew off its hinges. Sirius looked at them confused as he woke disorientated.

"Buckbeak take Sirius back to the others. We'll be waiting for you."

Buckbeak nodded as Sirius tried to thank them but was told to shut up and get on.

"We'll be waiting there"

Buckbeak took off as Y/N apparated he and Hermione back to their group. Sirius arrived with Buckbeak a minute later and he was shocked to see his nephew and his nephew's girlfriend waiting for him already.

"How did you?"

"I'll explain later but we don't have time now Uncle. Dobby!"

The well dressed House Elf appeared and smiled at his Lord, Lady and Harry.

"Yes my Lord?"

"Take my uncle, Buckbeak and Hati to my estate. Explain to Jack that Sirius is innocent. He needs the same treatment as Jackson had, you understand?"

"Yes my Lord" the elf smiled.

"Sirius will also need to see Chiara and Charlie right away, ok?"

"Of course my Lord" Dobby smiled and nodded again.

"Excellent. Thank you Dobby!"

Y/N turned to his uncle.

"Sirius you will see things that will shock you. Know that Jackson Selwyn is there- he, like you, was innocent of the crimes he was convicted of. When you see him say to Jackson 'my nephew told me freedom is the right of all sentient beings.' He will explain everything. Hati, Buckbeak! You two are free to explore the grounds but do not leave the estate. You are both safe within its borders. There is plenty of game for you to hunt and the staff will care for your needs. I will see you both in a few days, ok?"

The two magical creatures bowed their heads and Y/N patted them both lovingly.

Dobby bowed to his Lord as Sirius hugged his nephew and niece-in-Law and godson.

"Thank you Nephew. Thank you..."

"We are family Sirius. But we do need to talk about Severus. I'll come in a couple of days. Rest, recover and eat and we will talk!"

Sirius nodded and they disappeared. The clock tower started to toll and Y/N opened a portal.

"You three go through now!"

They stepped in and it closed behind them as Y/N instantly appeared next to them. They were out the front of the medical ward. Albus was just closing the doors. He turned around.

"Well?"

"Mission accomplished Albus!" Y/N answered.

"Excellent get in there and into bed!" the Headmaster smiled.
