Y/N L/N
The protagonist of the story. A close to 14 year old boy who has immense magical abilities and intellectual capabilities but a dangerous temper, especially when those he cares about are threatened or in harms way.

He is the Prophesied One, the one destined to kill the Dark Lord when he returns. But the prophecy speaks of him becoming an even darker lord. This darkness is beginning to emerge as The Punisher- a murderous vigilante determined to give justice to those deemed by Y/N to be in need of punishment. This, coupled with the discovery of an Archon dwelling inside him has the Council of the Phoenix, and in particular one headmaster, extremely concerned.

Will the love of his girlfriend be enough to keep him in the light, or will he be pulled further towards darkness?

Has a long list of Magical abilities- is a Seer, a Beast Whisperer, a Legilimens, can control elemental magic and is far more proficient in wandless and non-verbal magic than anyone other student at Hogwarts. Also has the unique ability to block out all but the most extreme of pain.

Has grown to 6'2" at the start of this book, has continued to physically develop muscle due to Jacob's training, and has piercing green eyes and mid length wavy black hair.

Hermione Granger

The Brightest Witch of her Age. Y/N's girlfriend and soul mate. Is aware of Y/N's violence but reconciles it with his upbringing and destiny. Loves him more than she can express and is fearful of anything happening to him.

Harry Potter

The chosen one, the boy who lived. Y/N's best friend and the one Y/N protects. Struggles to control his anger when he learns of Sirius Black and his betrayal of Harry's parents.

Ron Weasley

The fifth member of their friendship group, is yet to mature and his temperamental outbursts often put him on the outer with his friend group.

Lavender Brown

Hermione's best friend. Is overjoyed with Hermione and Y/N's relationship. Balances out Hermione's intellect with a more practical thinking pattern so the two girls complement each other well.

Dean L/N

Y/N's elder brother. Is very worried about Y/N, especially after the Knockturn Alley/ St. Mungo's attacks and the revelation that Y/N is the vigilante dubbed 'The Punisher'. Is struggling to reconcile how he sees his little brother and the newfound knowledge of who and what Y/N truly is. Is prone burying his head in the sand and sticking to moral absolutes, which will put him at direct odds with Y/N's relativism.

Penny L/N (née Haywood)

Y/N's sister in law and motherly influence. Refuses to acknowledge anything wrong in Y/N and ignores episodes like the Knockturn attack. Will not see Y/N as anything but her little boy.

Jacob L/N

Y/N's eldest brother and legal guardian. Isn't concerned about Y/N having an archon, just about training Y/N to be strong enough to kill Voldemort when he returns.

Severus Snape

Y/N's closest confidant, not just at Hogwarts but in general. Was named Y/N's godfather in secret and is happier than words could express how close he and Y/N are. His bond with Y/N is nothing less than paternal love, but how will their relationship be tested by the return to Hogwarts of Remus Lupin and Sirius Black.

Albus Dumbledore

Hogwarts headmaster, greatest wizard in the world- for now. Cares for Y/N a lot but had been caught in a continual loop of lying to Y/N to, in Albus's mind, protect him.

How will Y/N react when he learns the truth? Will their relationship be forever strained? Albus is extremely worried by their discovery at the end of the previous school year. It took Merlin at his peak to destroy an Archon last time one arose. Albus knows if Y/N goes dark there will be no one alive who can stop him.

Sam Winchester

Mysterious new teacher brought in solely to teach Y/N Ghoul Studies. A class based on learning about the darkest most foul creatures and forces known to exist. Or in the case of Sam's teaching, how to hunt and kill them.

Gellert Grindelwald

The grandfather of the L/N brothers. Y/N is the only one of the three who has inherited his abilities. Trained Y/N significantly over the summer and the two quickly grew extremely close to each other. Gellert is the chance for Y/N to have a paternal bond with a blood relative. Y/N is Gellert's chance at redemption. What influence will he have over Y/N's psyche?
