*Don't Forget Me - Descendants Of The Sun*

Hong watches as Joon walks towards their van with the gun still in his hand. She opens the door for him in haste but he sits inside without a word. He orders Jimin to drive to Head Office.

"But Joon ...what about Jin?" Jimin asks as he starts the engine.

"Just do as I say for once! Hong and Tae, you are coming with me to the Head Office, others leave for base." Hong raises her hand to interrupt but Joon stops her, "No Hong. This is my battle. And I have to finish it. I want you both there so Tae can know what happened on the day of the wedding. Others, I can't risk their life. He doesn't know we are coming so less attention we bring to ourselves, the better. " Joon says without any expression or emotion.

It seems as if when Jin died, Joon somehow died with him.

They rode in complete silence. Hong wanted to ask Joon what he wanted to do now, everyone wanted to ask too, but they were too scared to. So they just decided to go with the flow.

When they reached the Head Office, Joon went straight towards its entrance and it was Hong and Tae's turn to follow him without a word. Hong nods at Jimin and says they will be okay. Joon enters the Head Office and Jenny, the receptionist, tries to stop him but in vain.

"Agent NJ ...Agent NJ ...you can't go in there! Sir is in an important meeting!" Jenny says trying to stop Joon.

"Jenny, it's more important than any meeting your 'sir' has ever had. So let us get in!" Hong says pushing Jenny a little.

Joon barges into Woo Tak's office and sees him sitting in his chair. He looks up to them with a confused expression. The other people in the office also look at him with a confused expression.

"What the ...how dare you mere agents just come in? Jenny? Get the hell out of here!" Woo Tak shouts at them.

"Everyone, get the fuck out of this room! Except you dad, Hong and Tae! NOW!" Joon is now pointing a gun towards Woo Tak.

Everyone quickly got out of the room leaving only the four of them behind closed doors.

"What in God's name is all this about, Agent NJ? Put the goddamn gun down." Woo Tak shouts.

"I met Jin." Joon says still pointing the gun at him. Woo Tak shudders a bit.

"So what? That was your job. Did you arrest him?" Woo Tak says not showing his hesitation.

"No. I killed him. With this same gun."

"What? What...why the fuck did you kill him? I told you to arrest him and bring him to me!"

"He was far too deep into this shit, I wanted him to be free. Will you now confess?" Joon was now walking towards Woo Tak. "Mom never cheated on you. Jin manipulated the whole situation. You killed her and ruined Jin's life."

"I did not ruin anyone's life! He was already a gang member when you found him. I just showed you his true face." Woo Tak says slowly going back.

"FUCKING LIAR!" Joon hit him with the back of his gun. Woo Tak falls on the ground and looks at Joon with a dumbfounded expression.

"You ruined his life! You promised me if I broke up with him, you would leave him alone! But you ruined his life! And if that wasn't enough, you wanted to ruin his small brother's life too! Now will you confess or want me to do something much worse than you have ever done?" Joon glares at him.

Woo Tak knows that his game is up and he tries to stand up, showing he is ready to talk.

"Okay, okay, put the gun down. I am ready to tell you everything!" he eyes at the gun Joon was holding. Joon slowly puts it down and Woo Tak starts to move a little.

"You met Jin already so I won't repeat all that shit again. I did not want to ruin his life. He seduced you and when you came back home, you were all mushy and non-manly. That angered me! Even after he was arrested, I was still suspicious of his brother Taehyung, so I wanted Hong to keep an eye on him. She refused. So I wanted to show her what I could do." He slid a small penknife while moving slowly towards Hong. Nobody notices it and he continues, "I staged Taehyung's accident but he made it without getting hurt. But I guess it was enough to scare the shit out of her."

He suddenly puts the knife to Hong's throat and laughs hysterically, "Son, did you really think I will fall your tricks? You don't have the guts to kill anyone, let alone Jin, the so-called love of your life." He presses the knife on her throat.

"No! Leave her alone!" Tae tries to intervene but Joon stops him.

"I should have killed her when I had the chance. Beating the shit out of her wasn't enough I guess. Now say bye bye to your boyfriend and best friend." He presses the knife more but....

BANG!

Joon pulled the trigger. Woo Tak fell on the ground with a thud and Tae holds Hong before she falls. Joon drops the gun and falls down on his knees too. Hong first stabilizes herself and then rushes to Joon and hugs him. She could feel he was crying.

"Joon..hey hey..it's okay ...you did a brave thing today...you finally killed him!" Hong herself was on the verge of tears.

"Tae, can you please take her out of here? I...want.....I ...need to be alone for some time." Joon says between his sobs.

"But Joon..." Tae interrupts Hong and says, "Hong, let's just give him space for now. Come on, let's go."

Hong was too tired to go back to the base so Tae took her to a nearby park. They sat there in silence, letting all the events that happened today sink in. Hong finally breaks her silence,

"I am sorry about your brother."

"There is nothing to be sorry about. He continued on that path when he could have stopped. It's my fault. That day, if I just had believed him, he wouldn't have..." Tae's voice breaks a little. Hong holds his hand to make him feel better.

"Don't say that. It's like he said. Maybe, just maybe if he had met Joon at some other time, some other place, everything would have been so different."

"Are you okay?" Tae says rubbing her back.

"You remember the day of your car accident? The one Woo Tak mentioned?"

"Hey Hong...we don't have to talk about this now." He says cupping her face in his hands.

"I think if I don't tell you now, I won't be able to tell you ever. I just want to ...forget everything." Tae nods at her and hugs her. Tears trickle down her eyes as she continues.

"I got scared. I got scared that Woo Tak would hurt you so I thought that the only way to protect you was to marry you. I decided at that moment that I will quit this job and just be with you...and protect you..." she sniffs, "The next day, I came to meet him and give my resignation but instead he congratulated me on the wedding and even said he will take my father's place. He said that with such sincerity that I believed him."

"On the wedding day, just before our vows, I saw his men surrounding our hall. At first I thought it was just for his protection but when he called in to cancel because of his some last minute meeting, I understood his plan. He was there to kill you! I went to find Joon and told him to keep you safe. I called up Woo Tak but he wouldn't pick up. I told Jimin about everything and he somehow handled all those men but then Woo Tak called me and threatened me that if I don't go through this wedding and become his spy, he would do a lot worse. Those men were there just to scare me."

"I had no choice but to go through with the wedding. But I had other plans. I knew Woo Tak needed me to stay closer to you so I decided...I decided to run away on our wedding night. I told Jimin and he helped me to run. Joon was there to protect you...but.....Woo Tak got to him and lied that I was already caught and if you weren't brought in, I would be dead."

"Joon brought you in but was shocked to not see me there. After a week when Woo Tak was finally able to contact me, he threatened me with your life. I had no choice but to return."

"In our organization, if anyone tries to flee without any official resignation...they ...are...punished. He punished me. He broke my leg and shot me on my shoulder." She says showing the scar, "I did not fight back only on one condition that he wouldn't hurt you. I exchanged my freedom for your safety. Woo Tak agreed to leave you alone if I would stay in the organization."

"I was hospitalized for a year because of my injuries. Joon told me you kept looking for me for some time but then Woo Tak's people told you that I eloped with someone else. By the time I was discharged, you were already gone. You moved somewhere else but it wasn't hard for me to track you down. I kept an eye on you for all those years in case Woo Tak wanted something else from you...but from a distance...only from a distance."

"Joon and Jimin were ordered to not contact you and they didn't." she hugs him tightly, "I...Tae...I wanted to marry you ...I wanted to start a new life with you ...but I couldn't." she finishes and wipes her tears, pulling away from the hug. Tae smiles warmly at her with tears in his eyes,

"We can still start a new life together. Right here. You doing your job. Me doing mine. Just like old times." He kisses her forehead.

"But...this is dangerous..."

"You always protected me right?" Hong nods and kisses him.

"I hope Joon is okay."

"He will be...he just needs some space." Tae says wrapping his coat over her. "Let's get back to the base. Everyone will be worried."

"I did it. I finally did it mom! I...I....." Joon breaks down. He was still in shock that he finally did it. He avenged his mother's death. Now there was no Woo Tak who would control and ruin people's lives. All his childhood's memories were flashing in front of his eyes; all his memories with Jin were making him cry harder.

He was finally left all alone in this world.
