"Hey! Watch it with the shields." I snapped, eyeing the blue and white objects on one of the men's hands. "Those are new.
We were marched into a big room with random objects all over. It was quite messy.

"Arrogance may not be a uniquely American trait," a German accent echoed. "but I must say you do it better than anyone." I recoiled when his face came into the light. His red and shrunken face resembled a skull.

I glared at him before taking a glance at Steve. His face was similar to mine but even worse. His hate and anger radiated. It was clear why. His jaw tense, he stared daggers at the leader of HYDRA.

"But there are limits," He went on. "to what even you can do, Captain. Or did Erskine tell you otherwise?" I felt my insides boil. How dare he even whisper his name.

"He told us you were insane." Steve retorted.
"Ahh. He resented my genius and tried to deny what was rightfully mine." He explained. I scoffed in disbelief.
"What genius? You're just a brute who wants to kill people and take over the world." I rolled my eyes and struggled against my restraints. "Well guess what. You're not the first!"
"What is this little girl doing here?" He looked around as if he didn't hear what I said.
"You're talking about the Sapphire Soldier." Steve defended. "Watch it." Schmidt batted at the air to dismiss what we were saying.

"But he gave you both everything." He continued. He glanced us up and down. "So what made you special?" His voice dripped in resentment and bitterness.

Steve let out a breathy chuckle. I felt oddly attracted to that. "Nothing." He smirked. Damn. "I'm just a kid from Brooklyn." Schmidt punched him Mount both cheeks and landed one swiftly on his stomach. Struggled against a hold of the guards and protested.
"No!" I weakly shouted. Steve fell to the floor in a coughing fit.

"I can do this all day." Steve said between the panting. He looked up at Schmidt.
"Of course you can. Of course." He took out a gun from his holster. "But, unfortunately, I'm on a tight schedule." He held it to Steve's head and a high pitched whine rang in the room.

Before he could shoot, something hit against the window and through the white snow, we saw three black dots become bigger. It caught Schmidt's attention too. He held the gun pointed to the floor and stared through the window in shock.

"So are we." Steve said between clenched teeth. We immediately struggled and escaped from our guards. Schmidt shot at one of the guards, narrowly missing Steve. I raised an eyebrow at him.
"I'm fine." He said between punching and knocking the rest of the soldiers out. The three black dots crashed through the glass, sending it everywhere. Bullets immediately started sounding. The quiet room was now filled with the noise of grunts, shouts, and shots.

Dugan threw the shields to us and I followed behind Steve and he sprinted through the door and after Schmidt. We turned right and after a few seconds we were chasing him. He turned around to shoot at us with the dematerializing guns. I quietly thanked Howard for the vibranium shields. Steve threw the shield perfectly, forcing the door open so that we could slip through.

"How are you so good at that?" I breathed.
The same men with the fire guns appeared forcing Steve and I to split apart. We flanked to both sides, not knowing what to do. My shield lay a couple feet away.

A machine gun rang, followed by the fire subsiding. I warily glanced around the corner to be met by my sister and a couple dozen soldiers. I grinned and Steve and I jogged towards her.

"You're late." I muttered. I placed a hand on her shoulder and squeezed, catching my breath.
"Weren't you about to...?" Peggy suggested.
Steve and I looked at each other.

"Right!" We said in unison. I grabbed my shield ducked underneath Steve's shield into the door. Steve followed behind while grabbing his. I caught a glance of Peggy before the door closed.
