* Chapter Two

Hope: I swear my neighbours are dead. I never hear them and I never see them.

Yoongi frowned a little before he started laughing a little too loud, making Seokjin look up from his book. The eyebrow raise on his face made Yoongi stop and he showed his friend the text. Jin's mouth curled a little at the text and he shook his head.

They were sitting in the lounge room. Considering that it was the middle of summer and the only sanitary room in the apartment was the loungeroom, the two of them migrated to that area. The other bedroom that Jungkook and Tae shared had a pretty good aircon but neither Yoongi nor Jin were game enough to go in there. That left the lounge room which had a shitty system but it gave them some cool air. Still, both boys were still hot and sweaty. They'd eventually just decided to strip down to shorts and a singlet.

Yoongi was writing down little verses of lyrics in his notebook and Seokjin was reading a book he had for his assignment. Out of all the boys in the dorm, Jin was the only one who attended college. Jungkook was still in his last year of high school, Taehyung couldn't exactly afford to attend and Yoongi was just too lazy to go.

'It's not even that funny.' Jin mumbled, eyes moving as he read the book.

'Yeah well. It is to me.' Yoongi shrugged and smiled at his phone. Jin rolled his eyes.

Yoongi was curled up against the side of the couch, legs tucked into his side. He was on the bigger couch and still only used a little bit of the space. Jin on the other hand, was on the smaller chair laying sideways across with a pillow propped up against his back with his legs hanging off the armrest.

Tey always argued about who got which chair. Yoongi loved the bigger space even if he didn't use it, saying it made him feel less anxious. Jin's excuse was that he was taller and largely built which meant he should be using the bigger chair. Eventually, Jin just gave up and let Yoongi have it. Like always.

'The only reason you find it amusing is because you're in love with him and you want to fuck him. No other reason. Yoongi.' He said and Yoongi blushed and shrunk into his seat a little more. Of course his friend had a point. He found everything Hoseok said hilarious, whether it actually was funny or not.

Hope: Wait I can hear something coming from their apartment

Hope: They're alive. I can hear shouting.

Hope: Oh yeah. Yoongi, what do you want for your birthday??

Yoongi's heart raced a little at Hoseok's text and he shook his head. The only thing he wanted for his birthday was to see Hoseok but that wouldn't happen. Not until he got the crush under control or Hoseok dumped Jimin. As harsh as it sounded, it was the only way he'd be able to see Hoseok.

Yoongi: My birthday is ages away. Like 6 months or something.

Hope: Gotta be prepared. So spill, twatbag.

Yoongi: The only thing I want is to see you.

Hope: Aw !! The moment I have enough cash, I'll fly to see you, okay?

Yoongi: Yeah, okay.

'Why do you look sad?' Jin suddenly piped up, scaring the other boy who jumped. He threw his phone on instinct, luckily landing on the cushion beside him and not on the floor. His feet curled under his ass and he turned to look at Jin. Neither had spoken a word to each other in twenty minutes or so.

'I'm fine.' Yoongi mumbled, getting slightly defensive. His mouth was turned down at the corner and his eyebrows were drawn together.

'Are you sure? Because I can see a grumpy look on your face.'

'I'm always grumpy. How is this any different?' Yoongi picked up his phone again and saw that Hoseok had read the text but hadn't sent anything back.

'Well,' Seokjin closed his book and leaned forward in his chair, placing his feet on the floor, arms on his knees with his face in his hands. 'You were grinning a while ago at some lame joke your boyfriend said. Suddenly the smile left your face and you look more upset than grumpy which isn't you. I mean, it is you but you get what I mean.'

'I'm fine and Hobi is not my boyfriend.' Yoongi smiled slightly at his friend's concern. Jin was like the mother of the group, always caring about the other people in the dorm, no matter how busy he was. Even if he was mad at one of them, he'd still look after you.

Like the time Jungkook broke Jin's favourite mug. He'd ended up slicing his hand and even though Jin was mad, he still fixed up the cuts Jungkook had gathered and helped clean the glass of the floor. Tae called him Mother Jin and Yoongi couldn't exactly disagree with him.

'Bullshit tell me what's up. Mother Jin is listening.' Jin cringed at his choice of words but got up and sat next to Yoongi anyway. He started playing with Yoongi's hair in an attempt to get him to spill and calm down.

'The usual. I really want to see him and be with him in real life. I love talking to him over text but it isn't the same, Jin. It's tiring hearing his voice over phone calls.' Yoongi ranted and leaned into Jin's touch. Yoongi closed his eyes and moved so that he was lying down, head in his friend's lap.

'Why don't you go and see him? I mean, we have the money for it. Kinda. I can always get another job and I'm sure Taehyung wouldn't mind helping out if he knew.' Jin offered and Yoongi shook his head and Seokjin shifted a little.

'No one but you is allowed to know about Hoseok. You weren't even supposed to know about this. Besides, you already have a full plate. You work a part time job, go to college and look after the three of us.' Yoongi mumbled, feeling tired. He turned over slightly, lying on his side and pulled his legs up. Jin's hands froze momentarily before continuing once Yoongi was settled.

'Yeah I know. This boy has you feeling all sorts of things and it's kinda sad seeing you mope and be sad because you can't see him.' Jin felt oddly uncomfortable and warm. He knew it was because Yoongi had his head resting against him and he willed himself not to react. Yoongi's eyes snapped open so that he was staring straight at Seokjin.

You see, Seokjin may or may not have had a tiny crush on Yoongi. You couldn't really blame the guy though. Yoongi was one attractive person with so much talent. Even if his personality was a little harsh, he was still caring when he wanted to be.

He loved the way Yoongi's hair fell in his eyes and how it was slightly wavy. He loved how the mint colour Yoongi had dyed his hair almost a month ago had started to fade, little bits of brown poking through the faded blue and green. He loved the look on his face when Yoongi was either playing the piano or in deep concentration. Jin loved his gummy smile which didn't appear often but when it did, oh god did Jin savour it.

Even now, his heart sped up at the sight of Yoongi with his head against his thighs and his eyes staring up at him. Basically Jin loved everything about Yoongi and he kept telling himself it was nothing more than a platonic crush.

'It's probably for the best that I don't see him in real life, Jinnie,' Jin knew he was grinning and his cheeks were red due to the nickname. 'I just wish I didn't like him like this.'

'I know, Yoongi. Crushes fade eventually.' Jin mumbled, more or less telling himself that. Yoongi shrugged and snuggled closer to Jin, eyes closing again. Seokjin smiled and continued playing with his friend's hair. His hair was soft and silky against Jin's fingers and he loved it. In all honesty, he didn't understand as to how Yoongi had really soft hair.

God knows how long those two were in that position for. It must've been a while and Jin must've been in a dream-like state because when Taehyung and Jungkook burst through the front door, yelling about the new Thai place down the street, Jin jumped a mile in the air and ended up pulling on Yoongi's hair who yelped. Yoongi immediately woke up, eyes wide and his expression one of pain and he involuntarily let out a tiny moan before sitting up. Seokjin removed his hands from the younger one's hair and stared at Yoongi confused.

'Why are you two yelling? What time is it?' Yoongi yawned, stretching slightly. Jin avoided looking at Yoongi and instead turned his attention to the lovebirds in the kitchen who were setting up the table for dinner.

'There's a new Thai place down the road and Tae decided that after dance today that we should get some for dinner. No offense to you, Seokjin.' Jungkook said and Jin shrugged. He loved cooking but tonight, he didn't feel like it.

'I'm gonna pass tonight. I'm not very hungry and I'm really tired.' Yoongi mumbled and Jin pouted slightly, heart sinking in disappointment. He knew that Yoongi was going to go and skype Hoseok. It was something he did every night and Jin was slightly upset. Yoongi waved and headed down to his room. Jin heard the faint slam of their bedroom door.

'Oh. Okay. Well, I'll save some for you.' Jungkook said, his tone deflated. Tae rubbed his shoulders and kissed the back of his neck to cheer his boyfriend up. Jungkook smiled and grabbed Tae's hand and squeezed it. A surge of jealousy urged through Jin and he looked away from the other two.

'I think I'm gonna pass as well. I'm not really feeling that well.' He lied and scratched the back of his neck. His eye was twitching and Jungkook knew he was lying.

'Sit your ass down, Seokjin and eat with us. It's not like you to turn down food.' Jungkook said firmly, Jin rolled his eyes at him. It was kinda cute and hilarious seeing the nineteen year old try and act tough and dominant.

'Okay fine. But only because I'm starving.' Jin mumbled and sat down as Tae brought over the Thai food. He looked down the hallway from his seat and sighed slightly before digging in to his food.

***

Yoongi was chewing on his thumbnail, a habit he had when he was anxious. His laptop was propped up on his pillows, Skype open and ready for the video chat. He was laying in only the shorts he wore earlier as he'd decided to strip out of the singlet and not wear a shirt.

Hope: Give me roughly ten minutes. I'm having a shower.

Yoongi: Okay. I'm having dinner anyway.

Hoseok didn't reply and Yoongi rolled over away from his laptop, staring up at the ceiling with a hand on his chest. His other hand traced his neck and collarbones, something he did on occasion when he was bored. His room was painted in darkness, the only source of light was coming from his laptop and from under the door. With a sigh, he closed his eyes and waited for his friend to return. Getting antsy, he grabbed his phone and aimlessly went through the apps on his phone before deciding to look through the photos he had. He flicked through the photos he'd saved of Hoseok. There weren't many on there thankfully, just a few that Hoseok had sent him. He stopped at the photo of Hoseok wearing a suit. Yoongi remembered Hoseok telling him that the photo was taken at someone's wedding. He was standing next to the person Yoongi could only guess was Jimin due to the fact that Jimin had his arms around Hoseok and was looking at him with adoration. He had the biggest grin on his face and his hands were holding onto Jimin's wrists. Eventually, he swiped to the next photo and his breathing hitched.

It must've been from the same event as Hoseok's hair was styled exact. This time though, Yoongi was sure it was a selfie. It was a hot one too. Hoseok wasn't looking at the camera instead, he was looking away and down and Yoongi found it attractive.

He wasn't sure how much time had passed when he heard the familiar ring tone of Skype telling him that he had an incoming call. With a groan, he rolled back onto his stomach and clicked answer, grinning at the sight of Hoseok on his screen. Yoongi had to take a guess that Hoseok was sitting at a desk due to the fact that he was upright. His hair was damp still from the shower he had and he wore a shirt that slipped off his shoulder, exposing his left collarbone and shoulder. Yoongi bit his lip slightly at the sight. Oh how he wanted to mark-up Hoseok.

'Hey Yoongi.' Hoseok mumbled, the video lagging a little due to Yoongi's shitty internet connection. Despite the blurriness of the screen, his heart still skipped a beat and he still felt giddy at the sight of Hoseok.

'Hey Hoseok. How're things?' Yoongi asked, scratching his shoulder slightly. He reached over and grabbed a small pillow, sliding it under his chest. Hoseok grinned and rested his chin on his palm. Yoongi couldn't help but stare at his friend, trying to keep himself under control.

'Things are okay. I mean, works okay,' Hoseok's eyes lit up and his smile got even bigger if that was even possible. 'Did I tell you I got a job at a professional dance studio?'

'No!' Yoongi shouted and he felt giddy. He'd only seen Hoseok dance once but it was absolutely mesmerising.

'Okay well, a professional dance studio...' Yoongi wasn't really listening. He was more or less focusing on the way Hoseok's face was filled with excitement and how bright he was. He loved hearing about Hoseok's life. Especially when it came to his dancing.

'It's all thanks to you and Jimin. If it wasn't for you two, I probably wouldn't have this opportunity.' At the mention of Jimin, Yoongi deflated a little. He hated hearing about Jimin. He had nothing against the guy, in fact he seemed like a good person. It was just the fact that he got to go home to Hoseok and be with him that made Yoongi hate him with a passion. He makes Hobi happy. I can't hate him.

'Well, I didn't really do anything but, you're welcome.' Yoongi winked and Hoseok burst out laughing.

'But you did do something. You believed in me,' He whispered and Yoongi blushed a little, feeling giddy and lightheaded. 'Enough about my boring life. How are you and that guy?' Hoseok wiggled his eyebrows. Yoongi laughed and looked down at his keyboard.

'Well, things are okay. I don't really like him, Hoseok. He's my roommate.' Yoongi confessed and Hoseok nodded. Yoongi heard shuffling from Hoseok's end and he guessed it was just his puppy.

'That's all good. How's your mixtape?' Yoongi himself lit up and he looked up at Hoseok again, his signature gummy smile appearing on his face.

'It's going okay. I mean, it's probably almost done if you wanted to hear it. In fact I've got a song I-' Yoongi was cut off by Hoseok yelling Jimin's name and his laughter. Immediately the smile fell off Yoongi's face as Jimin came into view. He wrapped his arms around Hoseok and leaned behind the chair.

'Jimin, this is my pal, Yoongi. You know the one who I've known for years.' Hoseok introduced the two of them and Yoongi just wanted to end the phone call and cry. He'd met Jimin before, months ago.

'I've heard a lot about you.' Jimin smiled and waved before whispering in Hoseok's ear.

'Okay I've got to go, Yoongi. Talk tomorrow! Bye!' Hoseok waved before ending the call, leaving Yoongi to stare at a blank screen, slightly confused.

'Um, bye. Love you.' Yoongi mumbled. He closed the laptop and sat up, looking down at his hands. He left quickly and didn't even tell me what he usually does. Yoongi tried to reason with himself and told himself that Hoseok probably was tired and wanted to go to bed but deep down Yoongi knew that was utter bullshit. Hoseok didn't want to speak to him. He climbed off the bed and picked a shirt off the floor before heading out to the lounge room where his other dorm mates were playing Monopoly.

Yoongi stayed hidden out of sight and watched Jin kick Tae's ass before he looked up and saw Yoongi. A small smile crossed his face and Jungkook briefly turned around before he took his turn.

'He's alive!' Jin shouted and waved Yoongi over, a huge grin on his face. Yoongi put on a smile and headed over, taking a seat next to Jin. Tae grinned before taking his turn next.

'I'll just be on your team.' He whispered and Jin nodded wrapping an arm around Yoongi's shoulders, his hand tracing patterns on his collarbones. He watched the older boy take his turn, almost landing on someone's property.

'You okay?' Jin whispered back as Jungkook rolled the dice. His piece landed on one of Taehyung's properties and Tae let out the loudest shout and stuck his hand out in his boyfriend's direction. Jungkook rolled his eyes, kissing his boyfriend's cheek, hoping that it'd work. Unfortunately, Tae didn't accept it and grabbed the cash from Jungkook's pile himself.

'No,' Yoongi choked out. 'I'm not but you're here so I'm okay.' Jin smiled and handed the dice to Yoongi who rolled. Jin just watched Yoongi move the piece around the board. Once he was done he rested his head on Jin's shoulders and grabbed onto Jin's hand slightly. He didn't play after that, only watched while allowing his thumb to rub Jin's hand.
