* Chapter Six
Jinnie: Youre all set for the weekend.
Yoongi stared at Jin's message. So many different emotions were running up and down him and he didn't know how to react. Was he confused? Fuck yes. What had Jin done? Was he relieved? A small part of him was. At least now he didn't have to argue with his boss. His eyebrows were furrowed together and his mouth was open. What did Jin do?
Yoongi: The fuck did you do
Jinnie: I spoke to your boss and told him.
He went behind my back? I'm going to kill him. But if I kill Jin, I won't get to go to this fair since he's the only one with the tickets. Shit.
Yoongi: How?
Jinnie: Magic ;)
Yoongi: I don't know whether to be angry or relived.
'I'm going to kick your ass.' Yoongi hissed under his breath. Now he was angry. His best friend had done the one thing that irritated him. The one thing he couldn't stand was people going behind his back and doing things for him without permission.
Jinnie: Don't kill me.
'No promises.' He whispered and carefully shoved the pizza box into the bag roughly. At this point, he didn't care if he ruined the pizza. A hiss escaped his mouth and he winced as the steam hit his hand. Pain flared up and his skin felt hot. Mina, his co-worker rolled her eyes. He was a fucking idiot.
'Seriously Yoongi. Every damn week I tell you to be careful and to not burn yourself. What do you do every damn week? Go against what I say. Do you even listen to me?' She asked, raising an eyebrow and folding her arms over her chest. Even though she was younger than him, she acted like Yoongi's mother.
'Sorry Mina. I've been distracted lately.' He mumbled out an apology.
'By what?' She asked.
'Well I'm not working this weekend as I'm going to a fair since my friend managed to convince Jonghyun to let me go.' Yoongi said and fixed his pizza cap, making sure it sat flat on his head. Mina gasped and her hands flew to her mouth. Yoongi couldn't tell if she was faking her surprise and actions and mocking or whether she was genuine. That was the thing about Mina. You never really knew when she was serious.
'How did he manage that? He wouldn't even let me have the day off when my friend was having a baby. You get the weekend off for some fair?' She whined, stomping her foot like a child. At that exact moment, like he'd been summoned, Jonghyun marched into the kitchen. Mina yelped in surprise, eyes going wide and she turned back to the pizza she was supposed to be making. Briefly, she looked like she'd forgotten what she was supposed to be doing before it clicked. Her hands trembled a little as she tried to make it look like she'd been working the whole entire time. Luckily though, at least for her, Jonghyun's attention was turned to Yoongi who raised an eyebrow.
Jonghyun wasn't a strict boss. At least not in Yoongi's eyes. It appeared though that nearly everyone at work was afraid of him and Yoongi really didn't understand why. Jonghyun wasn't that bad. He was laid back, occasionally lenient to his workers and always had a grin on his face. Although, his tone was firm and dominant whenever he spoke. If you messed up, you wouldn't get in much trouble but your work day would be utter hell. Jonghyun didn't have the tendency to fire anyone unless they majorly fucked up. He kind of reminded Yoongi like a cat. Fun and playful but one wrong move and you'd be attacked. He was passive-aggressive.
'Good news. I had a little conversation with your boyfriend, Jin,' since fucking when is Jin my boyfriend? Yoongi tried not to let confusion slip into his expression. 'And well, you're basically allowed the weekend off to go to this fair under one condition, you aren't allowed anymore holidays until next year. No matter what.' Jonghyun raised an eyebrow and Yoongi nodded, still shocked. Mina raised her eyebrow, a confused expression on her face and Yoongi shrugged.
'Yeah no that's fine. I understand. Thank you so much. This means the world to me and Jin.' Yoongi forced a smile onto his face, despite it being the exact opposite of what he felt. Jin, you're fucking in for it later. Jonghyun squeezed Yoongi's shoulder briefly. The other boy winced slightly.
'I bet it will.' He winked and walked away. Yoongi was too angry to question it. He looked at Mina who was staring back with jealousy.
'Oh and Yoongi?' Jonghyun called from the door. 'You're free to go once you've delivered this pizza.' He smirked and left. Mina's eyeballs just about bulged out her head and she stomped her foot. She slammed the pizza tray down and Yoongi frowned.
'First off, since when do you have a boyfriend? Why wasn't I told?' She hissed and Yoongi shook his head.
'Jin's not my boyfriend,' Yoongi's anger spiked up again at Mina's words. 'I don't have one. But Jin and I are going to have a little chat when I get home.' He rolled his head on his neck and Mina shook her head, rolling out more dough. With a wave, Yoongi picked up the pizza box and headed out the back door to where all the cars and bikes were kept.
'See you Monday, Yoongi! Tell me how this all goes.' Mina called and Yoongi nodded, turning away.
The door slammed shut behind him and he sighed, the heat from the pavement radiating up and hitting him. He picked the closest bike and buckled the pizza in before climbing on. After double checking that the pizza was properly locked in place (he always had to double check now after the incident that happened a few weeks ago) he set off to the necessary destination.

Yoongi skipped going to his hill this time, anxious to get home and talk with Jin about all this. He was fucking furious. Small pints of excitement poked through the thick layer of anger but it wasn't enough. Jin was still in trouble. That was not changing.
The aircon in the apartment building was like a sigh of relief and Yoongi just stood at the doorway for a few seconds, head lolled back, eyes shut, trying to soak up as much aircon as possible. One of the ladies who lived in the building shot Yoongi a dirty look when he opened his eyes. Feeling slightly embarrassed, he kept walking, pausing outside the dance studio to peer in. He watched as Taehyung and Jungkook were laughing their asses off at something and Taemin was blushing slightly.
Taehyung waved when he noticed Yoongi and Jungkook turned around, giving a thumbs up. Yoongi frowned when Taemin winked at him though. The two of them had rarely ever looked at each other, let alone talked and Taemin was winking at him? Can today get any weirder?
With a small shake of his head, he walked over to the elevator before changing his mind and taking the stairs two at a time because, the day couldn't get any more out of whack than it already was.
Yoongi: Today's been so weird. First I don't speak to you until now, then I find out from my boss that I'm apparently dating my best friend. And then said boss gives me the weekend off. Odd.
Hope: I'm calling you and you're to spill everything, Yoongi.
Hope: Shit fuck sorry. I know I shouldn't forget but Jimin was using youre real name and it jsut got stuck in my head.
Yoongi grimaced a little. He hated his name so much. Not to mention that Jimin had been talking about him and using the wrong name. He makes Hoseok Happy. I can't hate him. Yet the words were losing their meaning now.
The moment he turned eighteen, he asked everyone to call him Yoongi, a nickname Jin had given him when they were in primary school. To him, it was much nicer than his birth name. No one really questioned it apart from his parents. They'd gotten into a huge argument over Yoongi's name which led to him not speaking to them in four years. He was being petty sure, not speaking to them until they apologised but they'd upset him.
Hoseok's name was flashing on Yoongi's screen and his heart leapt in his chest. Speaking to Hoseok always gave him that rush. He clicked answer and couldn't stop the gummy smile on his face, anger and troubles forgotten.
'So spill, Yoongi. Right now or I will fly to your city right now and kick your ass.' Hoseok demanded and Yoongi laughed a little.
'Nice to see you too.' He mumbled, unlocking his apartment. He waved to Jin who was sitting at the table, his computer open in front of him. Jin opened his mouth but closed it when Yoongi pointed to his phone. Jin gave a tiny wave instead.
'Just tell me! Is Jin there?' Hoseok asked and Yoongi nodded.
'He's here.'
'Ask him what his fucking deal was! Why did you talk to Yoongi's boss and call yourself his boyfriend, huh?' Hoseok screamed and Yoongi pulled the phone away from his ear, walking down to the bedroom.
A small, sad smile appeared on Jin's lips. He couldn't hear what Hoseok had shouted but he knew it was about him. The way Yoongi's whole face was glowing and the gummy smile on his mouth combined with the heart eyes made Jin realise that there was no way he could confess to Yoongi at the fair. The guy was still too far gone for Hoseok. His head fell onto his computer and he mumbled a small 'ow', rubbing the mark.
Yoongi closed the door behind him before flopping down onto the bed, hands immediately tracing his collarbones.
'Did you ask? I didn't hear you ask.' Hoseok shouted and Yoongi couldn't stop laughing.
'No I didn't. Do you want to hear the story or not?' Yoongi managed between giggles and Hoseok let out a huff.
'Okay go. I've got popcorn beside me.' At that, Yoongi sat up.
'Wait are you serious?' He asked. Hoseok just snorted.
'Yes. I asked Jiminie to make me some before. I was supposed to watch some movie but this is more interesting. I'm ready. Now spill, twatbag.'
'Okay. Well, Jin asked me out to some place this morning-' Hoseok cut him off.
'On a date?' He shouted, voice muffled by the amount of popcorn in his mouth.
'No now can you shut the fuck up, Hope?' Yoongi sighed, slightly irritated at being interrupted.
'Okay continue. Sorry.' Yoongi cracked a smile at the sound of Hoseok crunching on popcorn.
'So I brought it up to my boss at the beginning of my shift, asking to have the weekend. He said that I'd run out of holidays and that he couldn't let me go. So I texted Jin and he apparently called my boss because the next thing I know, my boss is marching into the kitchen, spouting bullshit about me dating Jin,' Yoongi ranted and rubbed at his temples. 'Then he tells me I'm allowed to go home three hours early before my shift actually ends. I'm just confused. What did Jin say?'
'Have you spoken to him yet?' More crunching from Hoseok's end.
'No. I had just entered my apartment building when you called.'
'Okay fair enough. Talk to him when you're done talking to me. Now, this dancer. Why did he wink at you?' Yoongi had momentarily forgotten about the odd moment with Taemin until now.
'I don't know but it's fucking weird. And I shouldn't think anything of it since it's Taemin and he's friends with my roommates which just makes him insane but it's so fucking odd since I've only ever spoken two words to him since Jeon joined his studio.' Yoongi mumbled and Hoseok hummed in response.
'That's odd.' He must've finished his popcorn because Yoongi could no longer hear crunching. Or he'd stopped for a minute while Yoongi told his story.
'Yeah I know.' A silence settled over them, both trying to figure out what to say. For the first time in a while, it was awkward and Yoongi didn't know what to say. He wanted to tell Hoseok so much yet, nothing would spill.
'We haven't spoken in a while.' Hoseok whispered and Yoongi nodded.
'Yes we have. We skyped the other day.'
'That's not what I meant, Yoongi. And you know it.' Hoseok said and he was right. Yoongi did know what he meant. It'd been a while since the last time it was just Hoseok and Yoongi talking without anyone else around. It'd been at least. Way before Jimin's birthday.
'How are you and Jimin?' He hated himself for asking but Hoseok loved Jimin a lot and made him happy which is all Yoongi wanted. He'd sacrifice anything and do anything (including keeping his mouth shut about his feelings) if it meant Hoseok was smiling.
'We're okay. I mean, we're currently fighting over something but it's nothing. I promise.' Hoseok mumbled and Yoongi raised an eyebrow at Hoseok's words. He glanced up and saw that Jin had appeared, standing in the doorway, hesitant to enter.
'I have to go, Hope. I'm sorry but Jin's here and we need to chat. I'll call you
later, okay?' Yoongi sat up and stared at Jin.
'Yeah okay. Love you, Yoongi.' Hoseok whispered before hanging up. Yoongi sat in shock. His friend hadn't told him that since he first started dating Jimin which was six months ago. Nonetheless, it was a pleasant thing to hear.
Jin sat down on his bed and Yoongi folded his arms, eyebrow raised. His anger came rushing back.
'Explain yourself, Jin. I'm not angry. Well, I kind of am but please just explain.' Yoongi sighed and ran a hand through his fading mint hair.
'I'm sorry I went behind your back for starters. I really shouldn't have done that,' Jin began, fidgeting in his spot. 'I had to call your boss though. He wouldn't have listened to you and I really wanted to spend the weekend with you.'
'What's up with the boyfriend ordeal? I had Jonghyun marching into the kitchen, spewing some bullshit about you being my boyfriend. What's up with that?' Yoongi asked and he didn't miss the light blush that coated Jin's cheeks.
'Well, I had to lie about my relationship with you. Do you really think Jonghyun would've let you go if I said you were my roommate?' Jin asked, raising an eyebrow and Yoongi smiled slightly.
'No.' He mumbled, feeling slightly embarrassed.
'There. I uh, also may have left out a tiny detail...' Jin stuttered, feeling nervous. Yoongi glared at Jin.
'What?'
'We're apparently getting engaged at the fair.' Jin said, not meeting Yoongi's eyes and Yoongi threw his pillow at Jin. The older one caught it and chuckled. He'd been expecting it in a way.
'What the fuck?'
'Well, it was kind of the only way to also let you go. He was a bit hesitant until I said I was going to propose to you at the fair. Once I mentioned that, he probably would've given you anything you wanted.' Jin admitted and Yoongi made a little noise before he started laughing.
'So basically when I return to work next week, I'm supposed to be engaged to my best friend? Fantastic!' Yoongi was hysterical. He was slightly overwhelmed and upset and just downright annoyed. Every negative emotion was bubbling at the top, threatening to spill and it took all it had in him not to lash out. Everyone knew Yoongi wasn't a good actor so trying to keep up a lie about a fake engagement every time he went to work? I'm going to get fired.
'It's not that big of a deal, Yoongi.' Jin said and he felt guilty that he'd dropped that bombshell.
'Of course it's a big deal! I'm a terrible liar, Jin! He'll see right through me and I'll lose my job the moment he does!' Yoongi raised his voice, causing Jin to wince a little. Yoongi never raised his voice at Jin. Not very often anyway. Hearing him shout always put Jin on edge and scared him a little. For someone so little, he sure as hell had a temper and a bite.
'He won't find out. All you've got to do is pretend and wear a ring.'
'And where the fuck are we going to find a fucking ring, Seokjin? Huh? In case you haven't noticed, we're broke!' Yoongi had no idea why he was getting so hysterical over a little lie. All I've got to do is basically portray what I feel for Hoseok onto Jin and act like I'm in love with him. Great.
'I know that. I can ask my parents for it. Not sure how I'm going to convince them to give it to me though.' Jin trailed off, eyebrows coming together and at that moment, Yoongi wanted to punch Jin. Yoongi's career was on the line because of him and he was so calm about it.
'And if they don't?' Yoongi hissed just as someone knocked on the door. Both boys looked at the doorway to see Taehyung sticking his head in, a grimace on his face. Fantastic. Tae heard us shouting an arguing.
'Hey, Jin. Sorry to interrupt but me and Kookie were gonna order something if you don't start cooking food within the next five minutes. Just a precaution.' Tae said and Yoongi knew it was just a distraction to get them to stop arguing. Either Jin knew that too or he believed Tae as he got up with a sigh and left the room, not glancing at Yoongi. Taehyung waited until Jin had left before he sprinted over to Jin's bed and sat down.
'What do you want?' Yoongi asked, glaring at Taehyung.
'Be nice to Jin.' Tae said and Yoongi rolled his eyes.
'The fucker has put my career on hold for what? Some fair?' Yoongi hissed, annoyed that Taehyung was taking Jin's side.
'A fair that you mentioned a few weeks ago. Remember? You said you wanted to go. Jin cleared his schedule for this and for you.' Taehyung informed him. He then added, 'he's missing a test this weekend for you. Be grateful.'
'Why?' Yoongi was confused. Jin missing a test? For some fair Yoongi mentioned weeks ago? That wasn't normal. That boy always put his studies first. Hell, he even missed the release of a Mario Game because of an exam.Taehyung sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose.
'I swear to god, Yoongi, for someone so fucking smart, you are the densest person I've ever met,' he met Yoongi's eyes. Yoongi raised his eyebrow. I'm pretty sure densest isn't a word but go on. 'Jin has the biggest fucking crush on you and he planned to tell you this weekend at the fair.' The air left Yoongi and he suddenly couldn't breathe.
'Tell me you're joking.' He whined, almost begging it to be a joke. He didn't want his best friend liking him that way. It was just a no-go area. Oh fuck.
'I'm not. But please don't bring it up, okay? He'll have my ass. Pretend you don't know.' Taehyung stood and rubbed Yoongi's hair. Yoongi didn't even react, just stared at his lap. Jin likes me?
