* Chapter Seventeen
Jinnie: If you aren't back by two, I'll skin you.
Yoongi chuckled and Hoseok raised an eyebrow. 'We've got to be back home by twoish so I can take Jungkookie to his therapy session.' Yoongi informed Hoseok turning his phone off and placing it back on the table. Hoseok hummed in response.
The two of them were sitting at a small café in the city. They'd been here in town for the last few hours, since maybe ten this morning and Yoongi was having more fun than he'd had in a while. He got to spend some one on one time with Hoseok.
Taemin had somehow managed to bribe Jimin to go to the dance studio and do some dances with him. It honestly didn't take much convincing since Jimin had spent quite a lot of time with Taemin now. It seemed that the both of them were on better terms, Jimin less uncomfortable with Taemin now that he was sober.
Namjoon and Taehyung were at work which meant they couldn't hang out and Jin had a few classes and another shift, keeping him busy. Jungkook had stayed home, not feeling it to go out unless it was for either an emergency or his therapy session. He'd almost panicked at the thought of his session but thankfully, Taehyung had calmed him down.
So Yoongi had suggested that Hoseok come to the city centre with him for a few hours to kill and spend some time together. Sight-seeing, he'd called it. Hoseok had no objections what so ever, just started tugging on Yoongi's sleeve and smiling so much that his cheeks hurt.
They'd wandered out a few shops for a bit before finding Yoongi's favourite café hidden away in an abandoned section of the shopping centre. It was an unknown and not very popular area yet, it was still bustling with people.
'We'll leave at one thirty then.' Hoseok took a sip from his coffee. His dimples popped out and Yoongi grinned.
'Okay cool. Where to now?' Yoongi asked, throwing his left over cupcake wrapper into the trashcan beside him. Hoseok shrugged before a loud clanging noise rose.
'Can we ride the tram thing one more time?' Hoseok shouting pointing at the train that drove past. They'd been on the trains that drove through the city so many times and Yoongi was glad he had a membership card. Those things were not cheap.
He waited for it to finish driving past before saying, 'sure. Whatever you want.' He'd do anything for Hoseok. If you asked me to go to the centre of the earth to get lava in my underwear, I'd do it.
Both of them stood up, Hoseok still drinking his coffee. Once they met up near the side of the road, Hoseok immediately entangled their hands together. Hoseok's hand was just the smallest bit larger than Yoongi's his skinny fingers longer than his own but it didn't bother him.
Hoseok had been showing so much skinship since they got to the city that Yoongi was about to combust. At every chance he got, he'd seal their hands together or play with Yoongi's hair. And each and every time, it never failed to make the older male flustered and embarrassed. He wasn't used to it.
They walked to the stop in silence, the only noise that came from them was the slurping of Hoseok.
'So, how are you and Jimin?' Yoongi spoke up, breaking the silence. Hoseok tensed the slightest bit and Yoongi would've missed it if he hadn't been paying attention. Hoseok shrugged, face completely passive. His smile had dropped off his face and his mood had done a 180*. The two of them arrived at the stop. A few other people were waiting but they paid no attention to Hoseok or Yoongi.
'Eh. We had an argument over you before we came but other than that we're okay.' He mumbled, leaning against the pole. His hand in Yoongi's had started to sweat and his grip was getting tighter. Yoongi stared at him, an odd look on his face. Why are you lying to me? Do you not trust me?
'Why?'
Hoseok hesitated, not sure if he should answer the truth or not. 'Well, he thinks you have a crush on me and that you'll try something with me. But you don't have a crush on me, right?' Panicked, Yoongi gulped inaudibly. How the fuck do you expect me to answer that, Seokseok? It's literally taking everything in me to not kiss you right now. I have no fucking restraint right now. Instead, Yoongi shook his head.
'I don't. You're my best friend. That's all.' He lied, smiling. Hoseok sighed whether it was in relief or something else, the older male couldn't figure out. His shoulders visibly relaxed and his grip loosened.
'I thought so. Jimin's just paranoid. He's not the fondest of you.' Hoseok admitted and Yoongi scoffed. I know. He fucking hates my guts. Before Yoongi could reply though, the train rolled up and slowed to a stop before the doors opened. The two hung back and waited for everyone else to climb in.
'Hey Min Yoongi! You're back again?' The driver shouted and both of them cringed. Hoseok at the volume (which was saying something) and Yoongi at the name the driver used.
'Why did you go all sour?' Hoseok asked.
'He always uses my full name. It's sort of annoying. I just prefer Yoongi.' The older male explained, hoping it made sense. He hated people using 'Min' as well. Reminded him too much of his family. If it wasn't so expensive, he would've changed his last name by now. Probably to Kim or something.
'Hey. Just drop us off near the haunted house?' Yoongi mumbled, flashing his card at the machine. Once it beeped, he slipped it away. Hoseok had already taken a seat and Yoongi sat down beside him, pissed off.
Yoongi stared in the same direction but his gaze was on Hoseok's faint reflection on the glass. Hoseok was so pretty and he couldn't help but stare. His expression was one of awe, eyes wide and his mouth in a small 'o' shape. His hands were pressed against the warm glass, his body twisted towards the window. His eyes darted back and forth as he took in the shops and people that went passed. No matter how many times they went on this tram and no matter how many times they passed the same shops with the same bustling of people, Hoseok was in complete and utter bewilderment.
'After Kookie's session, do you want to go an actual train or something?' Yoongi asked and they locked eyes in the reflection. Hoseok nodded briefly before staring back out the window. Yoongi smiled, his gummy smile lighting up his whole face and Hoseok's eyes cut back to the Yoongi's. Both of them were staring at each other again.
'So, where are we going now?' Hoseok asked but he didn't turn around to speak. Instead, kept his body facing the window but his gaze was locked on Yoongi's face. His eyebrow was quirked, a smirk playing at the edge of his lips.
'The haunted house. I know you have a fear but it's not that scary. I promise.' Yoongi reassured and Hoseok's smile fell off his face, fear taking its place. His grip in Yoongi's hand tightened, making the older male's heart beat pick up.
'Yoongi...' Hoseok trailed off as the haunted house came into view and the tram started slowing down. The colour drained from his face, bottom lip trembling in response. He turned to face the older male. Like he was on auto-response, Yoongi's hands came to hold Hoseok's face. On another occasion, he would've marvelled at how soft Hoseok's cheeks were. If the situation was different, he would've had a heart attack from actually touching Hoseok's face.
'We don't have to. We can go and shop or something. It's okay. I just thought it might've been fun.' Yoongi tried to backpedal and reassure the younger male. The driver called for them to get off the bus. Shut the fuck up for a split second. Just.
'I want to do it. But you can't abandon me. You've got to be right beside every fucking step of the way.' Hoseok's voice was low and trembled. Always. I'll always be right beside you, Seokseok.
'I promise. I'll be beside you.' He replied and stood up, pulling Hoseok as well. They climbed off the tram and stopped just outside the door to the haunted house. Yoongi had been in here before. It wasn't that scary.
The door took up the whole front of the house, rolled up so you could peek in. Along the right wall, souvenirs and creepy dolls from movies were lined up and the front desk was right across from it. Eerie music, the type that played in the background of horror scenes, drifted out of the shop. Every so often, an evil laugh would sound and Hoseok would jump. Situated just outside the door was pretend clown, a severed head dangling from his hand. The twisted smirk on the clowns face sent shivers down Yoongi's spine and a whimper from Hoseok's mouth.
One of the workers caught sight of them and smiled. It would've been a sweet smile if it wasn't for her make-up. Blood was dripping from the corner of her mouth and her skin was an ashy white, blue and green lines trailing up her neck and cheeks. Her hair was teased to look like a mess. Sure the effect was cool and all but that would be a bitch to untangle.
'Ready?' Yoongi whispered and Hoseok didn't reply, just started walking towards the front desk. The Smiling Lady's grin got wider when she realised that the two of them were coming in.
As they got closer, Yoongi noticed the swing hiding behind the clown and he couldn't help but laugh. A skeleton was tied by its wrists to the handles, half dangling off the swing.
'Hi. Welcome to Dracula's Haunted House. Are you ready for a thrill?' She winked and Hoseok's eyes widened in response.
'Uh yes. It's just the two of us.' Yoongi told her and she nodded before waving them over to a green screen.
'Okay. We just need to take your photo in case we need to identify your bodies.' She joked. Hoseok yelped and held onto Yoongi's hand so tightly, the older male was afraid his fingers would break. He was so tense Yoongi could see the bulging veins in his neck.
'Seokseok, she's kidding.' He mumbled and Hoseok shook his head. 'Can you give us a moment? Please?' He asked and the Smiling Lady nodded before leaving the two alone.
'Yoongi...'
'Listen to me, Seokseok. We don't have to do this. I haven't paid for the thing yet so we can back out. It's okay. You're not hurting my feelings.' Yoongi's thumb caressed the back of Hoseok's hand.
'No. I want to do this.' He mumbled, trying to hide the shakiness in his voice. He looked so nervous; sweat gathered at the edge of his hair, eyes blown wide and his breathing slightly laboured.
'I told you. If you don't want to, or you feel uncomfortable, we don't have to. There's no loss.'
'You promise me?' At Yoongi's nod, Hoseok frowned and started mumbling under his breath. The older male couldn't pick up on what he was saying but he heard Jimin's name. The Smiling Lady soon returned, a confused smile on her face.
'Are we all sorted?' She asked. Hoseok nodded.
At the exact time Yoongi said, 'I'm sorry to waste your time. We'll be leaving.' Hoseok exclaimed, 'how much is it for the both of us?' Both of them stared at each other, blinking slowly before Hoseok smirked while Yoongi was dumbfounded.
'How much is it?' Hoseok repeated. The Smiling Lady clapped her hands and dragged them over to the counter.
'It's about ten dollars for each.' She said and Hoseok grabbed two crumpled notes from his pocket before Yoongi could even blink. Sensing that the older male was about to protest, Hoseok winked and Yoongi let it go. The Smiling Lady then led them back over to the green screen.
'I need you two to face the camera.' She instructed and Hoseok beamed, his teeth blinding Yoongi. He knew he was supposed to face the Smiling Lady but damn, Hoseok. You know, I could spend forever staring at you, Seokseok and I wouldn't get bored at all.
'Yoongi...' Hoseok jabbed him with his elbow.
'Sweetie, can you please look at the camera?' Smiling Lady called and Yoongi faced the camera, an eyebrow raised. Sweetie? What am I? A five year old girl? Actually.
Once their photo was taken, Smiling Lady directed them over to a doorway. A yellow rope was taped across the front of it with the words 'keep out' in red ink. She produced a key and unlocked it.
'The rules are simple; anything that gets lost in here stays until closing time. We'll retrieve it then if it's still there,' she then stared straight at Hoseok. 'If you decide this is too scary and opt out, not our fault. We don't do refunds. Other than that, have fun!' She winked and opened the door.
The corridor was small with what looked like zombie arms extending out of ripped wallpaper and smashed windows. So, fuck. This is pretty cool. Yoongi met Hoseok's eyes before stepping inside the small, dark corridor. Hoseok followed suit. Immediately, the room started shifting from side to side and he yelped while Hoseok grabbed his shoulder, his blunt nails digging into Yoongi's skin.
'It's not real.' The older male whispered, turning around to face Hoseok. The door had closed behind him and both of them were standing in the dark. Hoseok's eyes were wide with panic and his hands clutched at Yoongi.
'I know. Let's just keep moving, Yoongi.' He mumbled, continuing the corridor. After what felt like forever, they came to another door. An up button was situated near the door. We're getting in an elevator? Oh fuck that. With a side glance at the younger male, he pressed it and the ground shook, a deep rumbling sound ringing out. The doors to the elevator opened with a puff of smoke.
'You ready to do this?' Yoongi asked one more time. Hoseok trailed his fingers down the inside of his wrist before their fingers clasped together.
'Let's do this.' They took small steps towards the elevator, both of them letting out screams as a blast of air hit their ankles. With a ding, the doors slid shut again.
Holographic photographs with creepy images lined the walls. Their only source of light in the small room was coming from the fireplace, painting the room in an orange haze. Situated above the fireplace was a mirror, a lady staring at them. Her eyes blinked owlishly.
'Okay this is pretty cool.' Hoseok breathed out. He no longer felt scared. Just excited.
When the mirror started talking though, both of them jumped again. 'Welcome to Dracula's Haunted House!' She shouted and a glowing, purple light erupted from the mirror, cancelling out the orange. More noises joined in with the eerie music; the flutter of pages from a book, evil laughter, bird noises and even a chainsaw.
'Holy fucking shit.' Both of them said, watching the lady. A wicked grin appeared on her face.
'You'll be lead through many different levels of this mansion. You'll start with the Underworld then travel with the Carnival. Your next stop will then be your worst fears before ending up in Surfer's Paradise. Follow the signs for the full experience,' the lady droned on about safety and what to do in case of an emergency and Yoongi just tuned out.
After about five minutes, the doors opened again to another dark corridor and Yoongi watched Hoseok.
'Let's go.' He said and headed into the gloom. As if triggered by their arrival, a loud sawing sound kicked off, scaring the shit out of Yoongi. He shouted, clutching Hoseok tightly. As they navigated their way through the dark, a sudden, dim light appeared and the noise got louder.
A cage with two people were dragging a hacksaw across another dead body. Blood covered the wall, the people and the dead body. One of them turned to look at the two males and grinned wickedly. Blood was coming out of its mouth and Yoongi's stomach lurched. That's so creepy.
'Christ.' Hoseok mumbled and kept moving. More light filtered in and Yoongi noticed that gravestones were set up along the walls with zombies and dead bodies hanging from the ceiling. Again, it was a tight fit and it occurred to him that they were going to touch him.
'Oh fuck. They... Those are gonna brush against us.' He blurted out and Hoseok shivered.
'May as well face it.' He mumbled and stumbled into the graveyard. He let out a small shout as the bodies brushed against him. Yoongi followed suit, biting his lip to stop himself from screaming. This isn't real. This is all fake.
A sign lit up the end of the hallway, a skeleton hand pointing them in their next direction. A tomb of ancient history was up ahead. Gold glittered in the harsh lights and a huge skeleton was towering over them, his gaze scaring even Yoongi.
'Can we just move along?' Hoseok whispered, holding onto Yoongi tightly. After one more look at the skeleton, they moved on.
Level Two was filled with freaks. Music that sounded suspiciously like the theme song from American Horror Story filled their ears. Goosebumps broke out of Yoongi's skin and he was on edge. They passed through another hallway with 3D creepy clown faces that brushed against his arm. The floor underneath his feet was soft and he stumbled. Every so often, he'd lost his footing and smack into the wall. Hoseok always followed suit and every single time, a loud scream erupted from him. In another situation, it would've been funny.
They ended up crawling through a human body. That set both Yoongi and Hoseok's anxiety as the soft and squishy interior held them in a tight hug, making it hard for them to breathe and walk. When they realised they'd walked straight out of the ass, Hoseok lost it.
'We fucking. We're shit!' He was doubled over, laughing so hard he couldn't breathe properly. 'We walked straight out of its ass!' He kept exclaiming and each time, Yoongi found it funnier and funnier until he too, was pissing himself laughing.
Level Three was the worst for both of them. Hoseok was afraid of literally everything. They went down a flight of stairs, gravestones adorned the flooring and the whole place looked like a morgue. While Yoongi was in awe at how well the place was decorated, Hoseok was trying not to run out, yelling at the top of his lungs. They ended up having to stop for a minute or two while Hoseok calmed himself down. A family passed them and gave them weird looks because, why were two grown men scared of a fake horror house? Yoongi had glared at them until they passed.
When they got to the spider section of it, Hoseok screamed again. The silk-like webs hanging from the ceiling curled around their arms and shoulders like the hands of a ghost. Yoongi was sure that his heartbeat could be heard from the front desk.
The dark hallway with neon squares placed throughout the walls caused him to hide. It wasn't that Yoongi was afraid of the dark per se. He was more or less afraid of the floating pictures and loud noises that seemed to happen at random times. Of course, he screamed when another burst of air hit their ankles.
Level Four was the tamest and Hoseok was glad. They crossed over a small bridge, a few feet over splashing water. Instead of the creepy music and sounds they'd heard previously, it was crashing waves and seagulls. The only thing that made Hoseok jump was the shark that suddenly sprang out of the water, jaws clomping away at nothing.
The exit sign flashed ahead of them, bright green and pointing towards the staircase.
'It's over.' Yoongi mumbled, glancing down at Hoseok's hand in his. Throughout the whole thing, they'd been holding hands and now that the tour was finally over, Hoseok would let him go. The thought made Yoongi's heart fall.
'Thank fuck.' Hoseok breathed. With shaky legs, he navigated the steps one at a time. The staircase was lit up this time and both of them could see everything clearly. The same eerie music from before started again and he jumped again, almost slipping.
'Be careful.' Yoongi warned and Hoseok just smiled. His hair was messy from running his fingers through it and sweat was dripping down the side of his face. His breathing was laboured and he had the biggest smile on his face. Yoongi guessed he must've looked similar.
When they reached the door that led back into the shop, Hoseok pushed it open and peered out, hissing as natural light seeped in. Slowly, both of them crept out back into reality. People were now gathered in the small building. No one took notice of the two of them looking like a complete mess.
'Hey! You guys made it!' Smiling Lady greeted them, a huge grin on her face. Hoseok nodded weakly and leaned into Yoongi.
'Yeah. We did. It's pretty cool.' Yoongi told her and her grin seemed to get bigger. She handed them two plastic bracelets with the words 'Dracula's Haunted House' written on them.
'Because you survived the horrors, you get given these. Thank you for stopping by and have a nice day!' She called after them as they left.
'That was pretty cool.' And Hoseok must've noticed that his hand was still locked in Yoongi's as he dropped it. Yoongi tried not to let it get to him.
'So, I think we need to get back home. It's almost two now.' Yoongi mumbled. His phone buzzed in his pocket.
Jinnie: Come home. Please. Kookie has his appointment in half an hour and well, just hurry.
'We need to go now.'
***
The moment Hoseok and Yoongi stepped foot into the apartment, Jin was ushering them back out to the car.
'We need to leave. His appointment is soon.' Was all he said, hands firm on Yoongi's shoulders.
Down in the car, Jungkook was shotgun with Taehyung shoved in the middle seat. Through the tinted glass, he could just make out that Taehyung was leaning forward and both of them were talking.
'Where's Taemin and Jimin?' Yoongi asked, getting in the car. Hoseok got in the other side. Taehyung leaned back in his seat when Jin slammed his door shut but his hand still held Jungkook's on the centre console. Yoongi smiled at their entwined hands.
'Both of them are still in the studio. Apparently Jimin's really interested in the choreo.' Jin explained and Yoongi didn't miss the faint suspicion in his voice. They met eyes in the mirror, Jin with a promise to explain later.
'They also wouldn't fit in the car.' Taehyung piped and Yoongi noticed he was still in his work uniform.
'Did you just get off?' Hoseok voiced Yoongi's unspoken question.
'Pretty much. Jinnie here only just picked me up from work. Also, the four of us are going to the pool later. Yoongi and Hoseok, you two nerds aren't coming. Won't fit.' Taehyung winked at Yoongi and the older male had the urge to smack him.
'Okay cool. I guess we can find something to do?' Hoseok's statement came out like a question and he stared at Yoongi over Taehyung's head.
'Sure.' Yoongi mumbled and that was it.
The rest of the car ride to Jungkook's therapy session was tense to say the least. No one spoke and Jin kept the music up loud to drown out the silence as best as possible. Jungkook's jaw was tensed up and popped out. Yoongi was afraid the bones in his mouth would break. Taehyung wouldn't take his eyes off his boyfriend, his thumb creating small circles on the back of his hand. Jin was singing softly along to the music. And Hoseok was making faces over Taehyung's head at Yoongi. The older male was struggling not to laugh.
When Jin pulled up outside the building, Jungkook's eyes widened and he glanced back at Taehyung, lip trembling.
'Can we please have a moment alone?' Taehyung whispered. Understanding, everyone scrambled out of the car as fast as possible, leaving the youngest two alone. No one could hear them but they could see Taehyung's mouth moving.
'Is Jungkook okay?' Hoseok asked. Yoongi nodded.
'He'll be okay. It's his second appointment and well, he's handling it pretty well considering. Taehyung'll bring him back soon. Both of them are eachother's rocks,' Jin explained and he nodded towards the building. 'Come inside. We need to leave them alone properly.' Jin started walking towards the door, other two following in tow.
'Tae and Kookie are made for each other.' Hoseok mumbled under his breath and Yoongi couldn't help but agree.
'They've been through a lot so they're definitely closer than anyone.' He replied.
'I wish Jimin and I were like that.' The younger male mumbled and Yoongi's eyes widened in surprised. It was so quiet and he guessed that maybe he wasn't supposed to hear it.
By the time the three of them had made their way to the waiting lounge and signed Jungkook in, the youngest two joined them again. Taehyung's hand was in Jungkook's tightly and Jungkook's eyes were red. Yoongi's heart jumped at the sight of their youngest.
'You're all signed in, kiddo. Just wait for Mark, okay?' Jin told Jungkook and he just nodded, taking a seat. Neither of them spoke after that, just sitting in complete silence while they waited for Mark.
It might've been ten minutes later when Mark came out, eyes scanning the room for Jungkook. When they settled on the youngest, he smiled reassuringly and Jungkook's nerves eased a little. He stood up and with one final squeeze of Taehyung's hand, he walked over to his therapist.
'Hey Jungkook. Good to see you again. Follow me.' Mark said and led him down the hallway.
After a few moments, Hoseok spoke up, 'so now what?'
'We wait.' Taehyung replied, fishing out his phone.
***
Jungkook seemed to be in a better mood when he left his session. He had a small smile on his face and he kissed Taehyung's hand in public. Yoongi couldn't help but awe at not only the gesture, but also the look on Tae's face. His cheeks were pink. The ride home, all of them were chatting about stupid shit.
Jin dropped Hoseok and Yoongi off at the apartment after Jungkook's session. His parting words to them were, 'please don't destroy the house' before driving off.
The two of them walked to the servo just down the road, hand in hand. Yoongi was still getting used to the constant pressure of Hoseok's hand pressed against his. Neither one of them knew what they were buying but they strolled the aisles, looking and picking up random stuff before placing it back down. Yet, when Hoseok picked up a cake mix, both of them stared at each other, eyes sparking as the same idea popped into their heads. They'd ended up buying four boxes. Hey, they were 90c.
When they'd gotten back into the apartment, they slipped two of the packets into the cupboard before leaving the other two on the counter.
So now, both of them were reading the instructions on one of them, heads together. Every inch of Yoongi was on fire. He could feel Hoseok's breath on his face and the tufts of his hair tickled his forehead. Every part of him was screaming at him to just kiss him. If you fucking kiss Seokseok right now, Min Yoongi, I'll kill you. The voice sounded suspiciously like Jimin.
'Do you even have eggs?' Hoseok moved away from Yoongi and looked in their fridge. Sure enough, a carton of a dozen eggs were on the top shelf. Hoseok struggled to grab about all the ingredients – eggs, milk, and butter – and place them on the counter without dropping anything. Yoongi just watched, the situation feeling oddly domestic to him.
'So, how about you make one batch and I'll make the other. Do you have two mixing bowls?' Hoseok was rummaging through the cupboards, looking for all their tools and Yoongi couldn't stop smiling. He just stood in the centre of the kitchen, watching his best friend go through his kitchen like he owned the place.
Yoongi: Look I know you're on a double date with TaekookTM but Hoseok is the literal c u t e s t im dying rn.
Jinnie: Why
Yoongi: Look,,, we're baking a cake and it just feels oddly domestic i-
Jinnie: You messaged me,, interrupting me from my kiss with Namjoon,, to tell me this shit?
Jinnie: I'm gonna block you for the next 5 hours.
Yoongi giggled and Hoseok turned around, two bowls, a scraper and a wooden spoon in his arms.
'Ready to start baking?' Hoseok wiggled his eyebrows. Yoongi pushed him before grabbing the utensils off him.
The two of them set to work, both making different cakes. Yoongi was baking the vanilla cake while Hoseok was cooking a chocolate one. The two of them stood side by side, not really speaking to each other unless it was to ask for an ingredient that they didn't have.
Every so often, Yoongi would turn to look at Hoseok and just smile. Occasionally, he look over and already find Hoseok's gaze on him, eyebrows furrowed like he was questioning things. Whenever their gazes would meet, Hoseok would just wink and turn back to his cake.
'Let's just make cupcakes.' Yoongi suggested, pulling out the cupcake tray while Hoseok fetched the patty cakes. Both of them poured their mixtures into the paper holders before they ran out of room. They still had a shit ton of mixture left over that Yoongi was eating with a small spoon. While Hoseok was setting the tray into the oven, Yoongi jumped onto the counter, making sure he didn't sit on eggshells and dragged the bowl onto his lap.
'Stop eating the mixture.' Hoseok cursed him, eyes twinkling. Yoongi just stared at him, his gummy smile on his face.
'You're not my mother.' He retorted, deliberately taking his time licking his spoon clean. When Hoseok's eyes darkened the smallest shade, he wasn't sure if it was a trick of the light or not. But when Hoseok stepped closer and took the spoon out of Yoongi's hand with a smirk, his heart sped up. Hoseok dipped his finger into the mixture, tasting it himself. He hummed, eyes closing briefly before snapping back open.
'Stop it.' He mumbled, leaning forward. His hands were either side of Yoongi's hips and his face was mere inches from the older males.
Lean the fuck back before I lose all self-control and just kiss you. Yoongi's heart was racing in his chest, loud in his ears. He couldn't help it when his eyes dipped to stare at Hoseok's lips briefly. They were pulled back into a heart-shaped smile. Hesitantly, scared he'd fuck up whatever was happening, Yoongi's gripped Hoseok's shoulders.
'Watch the cakes.' He whispered, praying that Hoseok stopped him. Praying that he wasn't about to ruin him and Jimin's relationship. He'd hate himself if he did.
'They'll be fine.' The younger male's warm breath tickled Yoongi's mouth.
At that exact moment, keys were jingling in the door and the sound of the lock snapped Yoongi out of his spell. As if he wasn't about to kiss Hoseok on the kitchen counter, he sprang away and leaned against the fridge, mildly panicked. Taemin and Jimin strolled in, talking to each other. Jimin took one glance at Hoseok before grabbing a glass of water. Both of them were dripping with sweat and Jimin was still panting. Taemin wouldn't look at anyone. Am I glad you two fuckwits walked in or do I want to murder you both? The world will never know.
'We're going back downstairs in a minute. Just grabbing water.' He explained. Jimin placed his cup down before taking Taemin's hand in his, dragging him back outside.
Yoongi's cheeks felt hot under his touch and his skin burned him. Hoseok squatted in front of the oven, eyes not leaving the cakes. Yoongi stuck his face into the freezer for a split second, trying to calm his blazing skin. His brain was having a hard time trying to make sense of the situation. What the fuck just happened.
