* Chapter Four
Yoongi was yawning as he stumbled into the kitchen. He was still half asleep and almost banged into the wall. He could hear so much noise coming from the room as well as a yummy smell that slowly woke him up more. He was rubbing his hands through his hair and face, trying to be more alert. A pair of sweatpants was all he had worn to bed that night and that's all he wore that morning. It was hot in his room. You couldn't blame him. He stood in the doorway, eyes half open and stared at his roommates.
Jin was standing at the stove, cooking what Yoongi could only guess was eggs due to the smell, wearing his pink apron and chef hat. Jungkook was sitting at the table, munching on toast in his school uniform. His tie was still hanging loose around his neck and the top button was undone. Tae was sitting next to Jungkook, head resting on his boyfriend's shoulder. Tae's hands were threaded through Jungkook's hair, playing with it. He was more awake than the younger boy. Jungkook was bitching about some English assignment he had due.
'I just don't understand why I still have assignments to do when I finish school in less than a month!' Jungkook complained, frowning. He took a huge bite out of his toast and munched on it angrily. Taehyung smiled, kissing Jungkook's cheek. It was cute seeing Jungkook so worked up over something so small. Jungkook immediately relaxed at the gesture. Yoongi just raised his eyebrows in their direction before walking over to Jin, trying to peer over the older boy's shoulder and failed miserably. He couldn't see anything. Times like this he cursed his short height. He moved and stood beside Jin, reaching out, trying to steal a piece of bacon. Jin smacked his wrist with the egg flipper and Yoongi whined with a pout. A red mark in the shape of the flipper appeared on his pale skin. Jin just grinned and looked over at Yoongi, trying to be discrete and check his roommate out. He must've been successful since Yoongi didn't say anything. He folded his arms over his chest and stomped his foot like a five year old. The red mark was still staring up at them both.
'Sit your ass down and wait like a normal person. No one takes food from my kitchen.' Jin said, poking Yoongi in the cheek and Yoongi shrugged, taking a seat across from Tae. Jungkook had finished his toast by now and was resting his head on Tae's, eyes closed. Having spent the night studying until two in the morning, he was now about to fall asleep. Jungkook was sure that if you left him long enough, he'd fall asleep on any surface. Even standing. Jungkook was holding one of Tae's hands in his and was now stroking his palm, fingers and basically whatever free skin he could reach. Yoongi watched them, slightly mesmerised. Suddenly, Tae's eyes shot open and flickered over to the fridge, eyes widening.
'You're going to be late, Jin.' Tae shouted, looking at the clock and scaring Jungkook in the process. He jumped up in his seat and whined. He shot a glare at his boyfriend who just smirked.
Both Jin and Yoongi looked at the schedule on the fridge the same time. Jin did have a morning class that started in twenty minutes. Yoongi knew if he was late, he'd be stressed for the next month. He had the perfect attendance and well, missing one class would stress Jin out to the max. Letting out a curse, he turned off the stove, leaving the food basically half cooked and ripped off his apron, throwing it on the floor before dashing down to his bedroom, more curse words pouring from his mouth. Yoongi couldn't help but smile and Tae peered over at the eggs in the frying pan. Yoongi leaned down and picked up the apron with a sigh before folding it away.
'So, is breakfast off?' Jungkook asked, checking the time on his watch. 'Nope. Skip that. I've got to go! Shit I'm going to be late!' He stood up in a hurry, eyes wide and his hands hastily trying to tie up the tie around his neck and fasten the buttons up at once. Taehyung, like the caring boyfriend he was, slapped Jungkook's hands and did the job himself, smiling at his boyfriend. Jungkook grabbed Tae's fingers and kissed them once his buttons were done. They both stared at eachother, matching smiles filled with so much love on their faces. Yoongi rolled his eyes and looked away. It sickened him. He hated how cute and affectionate those two were. He told himself constantly that it was because he hated that type of stuff but really it was just that he didn't have something like they did. Yoongi didn't like to think of himself as the affectionate, lovey-dovey type but whenever he saw Taehyung and Jungkook being all cute and domestic, he really wished he had someone to do that with.
'Yoongi, you can cook the rest if you want. Have breakfast without me.' Jin's voice trailed down from the hallway and a few seconds later he appeared, carrying his bag. His glasses sat perched on the edge of his nose and he wore the Mario shirt I Yoongi had gotten him for his twenty third birthday. Yoongi's heart sped up a little in his chest at the sight of Jin in his glasses. He had to admit, his older roommate looked 100% hotter with his glasses. Of course, his Mario shirt just made him look like a huge fucking nerd (he was) and threw of the sophisticated look Jin was probably aiming for.
'What about you?' Yoongi asked and Jin shrugged.
'If I have time, I'll go and get something from the servo around the corner. If not, I'll get something after class,' he pointed a finger at Jungkook. 'Don't be late or I'll kick your ass.' He warned. Jungkook rolled his eyes and raised his hands, laughing slightly.
'Yes mum. I was about to leave anyway.' Jungkook kissed Tae's cheek and grabbed his school bag. Taehyung waved at his boyfriend as he left before jumping up and heading back towards his room, most likely going to change and get ready for his shift at the gaming store, Geek Haven. Both the front door and Tae's bedroom door pretty much slammed at the same time and Jin rolled his eyes. He mumbled something under his breath about them being kiddos but Yoongi didn't catch it.
'Good luck today, Jinnie.' Yoongi mumbled and Jin opened his mouth but didn't say anything, just blushed at his friend's words. He tried to get his crush under control and Jin had the biggest urge to just kiss Yoongi on the mouth right there. I mean, who could blame him? The boy was sitting at the table in nothing but a pair of sweatpants, messy haired with the slight puff of sleep. Absolutely fucking adorable.
'Will do. Yoongi.' He awkwardly leaned down to hug Yoongi who returned the embrace hesitantly. Jin let go after a few seconds and blew a small kiss before exiting out the front door.
Yoongi turned the stove back on just as Taehyung walked back out, dressed in his work uniform which was basically dress pants (what type of store wore dress pants to work? It's not fancy.) and a plain green tee. Tae briefly hugged Yoongi before walking out the door, leaving Yoongi alone in the quiet apartment. He stared at the closed door for a long time, almost burning the eggs. Sure Yoongi loved being alone and he revelled in quiet he never got living with three other boys. The one thing he couldn't stand though was being lonely and being left alone to the shitty thoughts he had daily. It sucked more than Taehyung did (or so Yoongi guessed).
He stood against the counter, the stove off now and the eggs cooling in the frying pan. Yoongi folded his arms over his stomach, staring at the floor. Suddenly, his hunger had disappeared. Eventually, he threw the eggs onto a plate and placed them into the fridge No point in them going to waste.

Hope: Yo are you okay?
After he'd changed, Yoongi had left the apartment, not being able to stand the quiet. He'd headed over to the hill near his work. He didn't bother bringing his lyric book this time, only his phone and earbuds. He'd walked the thirty minute trip there, praying it wouldn't rain as the sky was overcast. If it started raining, Yoongi was 100% sure he'd start crying. The only thing he planned to do that day was listen to music and wallow in self-pity.
Hoseok obviously had other plans though.
Yoongi: Not really. I'm available tho. What's up?
Hope: Aw. What's up?
Yoongi: Call me?
Hope: Can't. Jimin's watching a movie with me. It's his birthday. I'm not even supposed to be talking to you.
Fucksake. Really? Hoseok's mood had changed drastically. He had messaged Yoongi first and now he was saying he couldn't talk because of his boyfriend? That was odd. All Yoongi wanted was to hang out with one of his friends on his day off but obviously that wasn't an option. Now even talking to his friend was out of question. Angered, he clenched his fist against his knee.
Yoongi: Oh. Sorry.
Yoongi turned his phone off and leaned forward, hands resting on his knees. The sight of the city below him made him queasy and excited at the same time. He had a tiny fear of heights and there was a little sick and twisted part of him telling him to jump but the thought of being up this high, above the city made him happy. He honestly felt superior to everyone when he was up here.
Yoongi's phone buzzed twice in his pocket and he pulled it out, seeing that he had a message from Jin and Hoseok.
Hope: Don't be. I just promised Jiminie that I'd spend the day with him today bc it was his birthday.
Yoongi: okay well. Talk to you later.
Hoseok read the message but didn't reply. With a shrug, Yoongi opened the message from Jin.
Jinnie: I'm bored. I already know this stuff. Keep me company Yoongi.
Yoongi: oh my. Don't fail that class. If you fail bc youre talking to me, I'll never be able to live that down.
Yoongi: And neither would you. You'd go into stress modeTM
Jinnie: I won't fail this class. The teacher loves me. Plus I already know this stuff.
Yoongi couldn't stop the giggle that left his mouth. He had no idea as to why he was laughing at his friend's text but his mood had done a 180 so he wasn't complaining.
Yoongi: I trust you boy.
Jin's name was suddenly flashing on Yoongi's screen and he frowned in confusion. Wasn't Jin in a class currently? He answered anyway.
'What's up Jinnie?' Yoongi asked, biting his thumb nail again. He shivered slightly. Despite it being the middle of summer, the sky was overcast and the winds had picked up a little, making it slightly colder now.
'Nothing. Just wanted to ask you something.' Jin mumbled and Yoongi picked up on the nervous tone in Jin's voice.
'Aren't you in a class?'
'We just got out five minutes ago.' Yoongi could hear rustling on Jin's end of the phone and he leaned back on the bench again. The wind had picked up, sending small shivers down his spine. Goosebumps erupted on his arms and neck.
'Oh.'
'Anyway. A fair's coming in a few days to a town over. Did you want to come with me?' Jin asked and Yoongi nodded.
'Of course. Tae and Jeon aren't coming?' Please so no. please say no. I want it to be us. Yoongi crossed his fingers and toes, praying to whatever gods were listening that it would only be the two of them.
'They won't be. They have to stay here.' At Jin's words, Yoongi let out a little 'yes' under his breath and fist pumped the air. Jin pretended not to see the fist bump but his heart thumped in his chest.
It dawned on Yoongi that the two youngest boys would be alone. 'What about the apartment? I don't trust them not to trash it.' Yoongi furrowed his eyebrows. Those two would destroy the apartment within an hour of Jin and himself being away.
'I've asked Taemin to house sit and look after the children for us. So you and I can go and have fun at this fair. Does that sound okay?' Jin's nerves were back and Yoongi's cheeks hurt from how much he was actually grinning. Jin was adorable. He could just picture a nervous Jin, pacing and biting his lip while he ran his hands through his hair.
'Sounds good.' Yoongi agreed. The wind had died down now but it was still cold. Yoongi shivered again and seriously regretted not bringing his jacket.
'Sweet. See you in a few hours. I have a few more classes than I'll be home. Bye.' Jin blew a kiss into the phone before hanging up, leaving Yoongi to listen to the dial tone. He was slightly blushy and smiley. He placed his hand against his warm cheek and stared at the city below him. The only problem Jin's plan had was Yoongi getting days off to go. Convincing his boss to have more time off when he'd already basically exceeded his holiday time was going to be difficult. He wouldn't normally put in the effort but since it was Jin and the fair meant personally time alone with him, Yoongi would risk it.
