Goh's POV:

I suddenly woke up and began gasping for air. I had just had the weirdest dream that for whatever reason I was kissing Chloe!

It was weird, but I don't fully understand why it was weird. I mean, I'm a boy and she's a girl, I guess we're supposed to be together, right?

I mean I don't know, I don't feel like a boy and I don't feel like I'm attracted to girls either...

But then I looked below my top bunk to see my friend, Ash. The raven-haired boy was still asleep and he was snoring quite loudly, and so was his Pikachu.

I couldn't help but chuckle when I saw him and I felt my cheeks go as red as the highlights in my hair, but why?

Ash is cute, really really cute. But is it normal to think that guys are cute, when you are a guy yourself? Surely I'm just confused or something but I didn't let that ruin me staring dreamily at him.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door and a loud shout.

"WAKE UP!"

I could immediately tell that it was Chloe who was frantically banging on our bedroom door. And somehow that didn't wake up the raven-haired boy below me, not in any way surprising though.

I crept down the ladder and opened the door.

"What's wrong Chloe? You don't normally bang that hard," I asked, a little concerned.

"It's just, there's a visitor, for Ash..." She mumbled and then looked away, her cheeks were as red as mine just were.

"Oh, that's odd," I said, but then my face turned smug very quickly, "You don't happen to have a crush on the visitor, do you?"

I was immediately met with a reply in the form of a slap of the face. Chloe then took a deep breath.

"Sorry, force of habit!" She said.

Then she pushed past me as she marched into the room. I looked very confused until I saw her walk over to Ash and raise out her hand...

"NO CHLOE, DON'T DO I-" I yelled, but it was too late...

"AHHHHHHHHHH!" Ash screamed.

"All done, now come downstairs once you're both dressed, Ash you have a visitor!" Chloe said, dusting off her hands and making her way over to the door.

Ash sat up straight with a startled expression.

"Wait, I have visitor?!" He asked, not fully processing what she had just said and completely forgetting what had just happened.

By that point, the maroon-haired girl had already slammed the door and was now skipping down the stairs.

"Why do I have a visitor?" Ash asked, looking at me with a quizzical expression.

I shrugged my shoulders and then decided to move on to a different topic.

"Why don't we get dressed then?" I asked.

"Sure!" Ash replied immediately, beaming at me.

I blushed a little and then we got dressed into our usual outfits. As I was putting on my grey hoodie, I saw Pikachu had a huge grin on his face as he jumped onto Ash's shoulder and took his hat.

"Hey! Give that back Pikachu!" Ash said.

Pikachu just giggled in response and then started jumping around the room. Ash, who was desperate to get his hat back, chased after his partner. I couldn't help but laugh the whole time.

After we were all dressed and had brushed our teeth, Pikachu jumped onto Ash's shoulder and then we walked downstairs.

Once we had made it down we walked across the corridor and into the main room where there was Professor Cerise, Chloe and-

"Serena!" Ash called, waving his hand in the air.

The girl with honey-blonde hair turned around...

Serena's POV:

I turned around and saw Ash, the boy of my dreams. He was calling my name while waving his hand in the air.

I blushed a little and giggled but then I realised something. Ash looked... younger.

Back when I saw him on the TV a few years ago, a lot of time had passed since we were kids at the summer camp. We were both ten but he looked at least sixteen then for whatever reason. But now, it looked like he was actually ten.

Also since then, I've changed my style a little. I now have a whole new wardrobe and I have my ears pierced, whenever I see old friends they always say I've gotten older and look more mature, maybe it just isn't the same for Ash...

But at that point, I didn't really care and just charged towards him, stopping myself from actually trying to kiss him.

Goh's POV:

I watched as the girl ran over to Ash. It obviously seemed like they had known each other from before, maybe this girl was one of Ash's previous travel companions?

But then, I almost had a heart attack when it looked like the girl was about to kiss Ash. Even when she then pulled back, I was still breathing heavily.

Serena's POV:

"Hey Ash, how are you doing?" I asked, beaming at him excitedly now that we were finally face to face again after all this time.

"I'm doing great! Right now I'm entered in the World Coronation Series which is this like huge battle thing where you get higher in the ranks the more people you defeat! I'm in the Great Class right now!" Ash explained.

I smiled at him, even though I barely knew what he was talking about. Back in Kalos, he wasn't that excitable but now he just seems so energetic now and it's so adorable. HE'S SO CUTE!!!

"So, how are you doing?" Ash asked.

"Well, I've pretty much become a celebrity in both Kalos and Hoenn! I recently overtook Aria and became Kalos Queen and right now I'm working in a performance duo with a friend called Lisia!" I replied.

Goh's POV:

I was a little suprised that this girl Ash was chatting to was a celebrity. I couldn't believe I was in the same room with the Kalos Queen, although I didn't really understand much about it anyway.

The girl then looked over at me with a confused expression. Ash must have realised this because he then gestured his hands towards me.

"Oh, I realised I haven't introduced the two of you to each other yet. So this is my friend Goh, we're both research fellows here at Cerise Laboratory and we travel all around the world, gathering research!" Ash introduced me.

I blushed a little but then that quickly faded when Serena gave me a small smile that kind of looked forced and fake. I wonder why though...

Serena's POV:

When I hear what Ash said, I tried to give a small smile but it was really difficult. I just felt so jealous that those two are always having the time of their lives and I'm stuck, constantly training and performing.

I could tell Goh was reading my expression perfectly so I wanted the raven-haired boy I've to move along the conversation, and fast.

"And this is my friend, Serena! We travelled together in the Kalos region and she is Pokémon performer!" Ash introduced me to his friend.

I couldn't help but blush a little when he did so but then I thought carefully about the words he said about me. He called Goh a friend and he called me a... friend? Don't I get a better title, or is he just too shy to admit I'm his crush?

I was quickly out of my thoughts when Ash turned towards me and asked...

"So Serena, why are you here?"

I almost felt my heart break in two as he said those words. Was he not happy to see me? Does he not feel the same way I do? Does he think I just came back to see him for no reason?

"Well..." I mumbled, at this point I was holding back tears but just didn't know what to say.

Ash stared at me obliviously like he couldn't tell how hurt I felt but Goh actually looked like he was concerned, even though he had never met me before.

"I'm here because I want to travel with you, again!" I finally said, stamping my foot in a triumph.

As I breathed heavily because that felt so awkward to do in front of my crush and a boy I had never met, both Ash snd Goh looked confused. So did Chloe who was watching me from the corner of the room.

"I don't get it," Ash said.

"Well, I enjoyed travelling with you back in Kalos... so I came back so we could travel again!" I explained.

Ash looked shocked but then he gave a smile that melted my heart.

"Sure, but you'll have to tell Professor Cerise!" Ash replied.

I looked around the room for Professor Cerise until I turned around and found him standing at the end of the room, standing in front of a virtual screen. He must have heard the whole conversation.

I walked over towards him, Ash and Goh following behind me.

"My name is Professor Cerise, if I heard correctly, your name is Serena?" The professor asked.

"Yes, my name is Serena Yvonne from Vaniville Town!" I introduced myself.

"Wow, all the way from the Kalos region!" He remarked.

I giggled a little, as this feels everyone has been reacting the same way to that all day.

"So then, would you like to become a research fellow, along with Ash and Goh?" The man asked.

I nodded my head in response, thrilled that I was actually going to start travelling with the boy of my dreams once again after a few years of being apart.

"Well then, welcome to the team! Wren and Chrysa who also work here aren't in yet but they will greet you when they arrive, also could I have your phone please?" Professor Cerise asked.

I raised an eyebrow, confused as to why he would need my phone. But then I decided to just shrug off the thought and handed my phone to him.

The suddenly, a Rotom appeared from nearby, it hurtled from corner to corner of the room before flying into my phone. Then, my phone transformed into a Rotom Phone!

"I've put a Rotom in your phone, that way you can access the map and other apps you may need!" He explained, handing the phone back to me.

"Thank you so much!" I beamed, quickly checking my new Rotom phone to see if my Ash lock screen was still there, which it was.

"Now then, it looks like you'll be staying here for a while so you should start unpacking, Ash and Goh, could you please show her to your room!" Professor Cerise said.

I turned around to see Ash and Goh. They both looked into each other's eyes and then turned to look at the professor.

"Right!" They both agreed.

The two boys began walking out of the room together, so I decided to follow behind them...
