Chapter 1: The Ferry To Kanto

Serena's POV:

It was the start of a new day in the region of Kalos. I woke up very quickly and had a big stretch.

I yawned even after having such great sleep that night because I was tired over something else...

For the last few months, I have been travelling back and fourth between Kalos and Hoenn.

Now that I had become an idol of Pokémon Coordinating and Pokémon Showcases, I now had to manage doing both to keep my fans from both regions happy.

That meant that one week I would be in my hometown of Vaniville Town or the Lumiose City where two of my old travelling companions, Clemont and Bonnie, live. There, I would be relaxing, hanging out with some of my other friends like Shauna or Miette, or competing against them in Pokémon Showcases.

Then the next week, I would have to take a plane to the Hoenn region. There I would have to do non-stop training for contests. I would mostly have to stay in Lilycove City because that's where most of the contests are held.

But then again, why am I doing any of this at all? I had just recently become Kalos Queen, overtaking Aria's throne just a few months ago.

Why am I trying so hard to become a famous Coordinating Idol in the Hoenn region when she already has such a high status in my home region of Kalos?

Honestly, I don't even know the answer to that question...

Besides, now I have made even more friends, rivals and fans in the Hoenn region. The more significant ones being May and Lisia, my two main Hoenn best friends who I also had a strong rivalry with...

I suddenly snapped out of my thoughts at that point and then decided to get ready for the new day. I then put on my grey tank top sweater and pink plaited skirt with grey socks and brown boots.

I walked into the bathroom and began brushing my sparkling, white teeth. As I was doing so, I then began thinking about something, something very important to me.

I then began thinking of Ash Ketchum, my very first crush...

I had known the boy since I was a little girl, back when I went to Professor Oak's Summer Camp.

Back then, I was very easily frightened when a pokémon tried to approach me after I accidentally wondered off from the group.

But then, Ash came out from out of a bush and he "saved me". I then knew it was love at first sight.

After that, me and him travelled around the Kalos region together a few years later. I would blush like a Tomato berry while Ash looked completely oblivious to what was happening.

But then, Ash went to leave for a new journey. And then, that was when I made the decision to kiss him. The raven-haired boy didn't have the reaction I was looking for, but I just thought maybe he was shocked from the sudden lip-to-lip contact.

I then put down my pink toothbrush and stamped my foot while saying, "I must find him!"

I ran down the stairs to see my mom making breakfast while Delphox, Pancham and Sylveon were curled up next to each other on the floor of the living room, still sleeping.

I dashed into the kitchen and began eating my pancakes with berries and golden syrup very quickly. Mom was very shocked and confused by this.

"Is there a problem? You don't normally eat that quickly," Mom asked, resting her shoulder next to the sink.

"Oh, I'm heading out to the Kanto region!" I said briskly, still trying to eat my pancakes while talking, which isn't normal for me.

"The Kanto region? You don't normally have contests there. Also this week I thought you were going to relax from travelling?" Mom replied.

"Well, I thought it would be a change to go somewhere else, plus I really want to see Ash again!" I explained and then blushed at the thought of the raven-haired boy.

"Okay then, just make sure you do end up going to Hoenn after, your friend Lisia has been sending you non-stop texts about it and it's so annoying!" Mom reminded me.

"You aren't supposed to be looking at my phone anyway!!!" I screamed, flustered over the thought that my mum had probably seen my lock screen of Ash.

Mom giggled a little and then I had to take a deep breath to calm down. I then got up waved goodbye to my mom before running into the living room where my pokémon were.

The door slamming woke them up with a start. Delphox, Pancham and Sylveon sat up straight and waited to see what was about to happen.

"Delphox, Pancham and Sylveon... WE ARE GOING TO KANTO!!!" I announced, jumping around in the air and feeling extatic.

The three Pokémon gasped. They were really suprised about the sudden announcement.

"Del delphox? (Why are we going Kanto?)" Delphox asked, waving her stick in the air as she said so.

"Pan pan cham? (I thought you were taking a break from travelling?)" Pancham said, putting on his red sunglasses.

"Syl vee eeon? (What about Hoenn?)" Sylveon asked with a worried expression on her face.

I then sat down on the sofa I had been standing in front of previously. Then I clasped my hands together before saying,

"I'm going to Kanto because... I miss Ash. He is the person I think of all the time and I think all of you have seen that. And I don't care if my future or greater opportunities later on get shattered in the process. So we'll just forget Hoenn and Kalos for a while, focus on my crush and all his pokémon!" I explained as best as I could.

Although the three Pokémon didn't think this was necessarily the best idea, they all nodded and offered smiles of courage and hopefulness. They knew they didn't want to go against me and they all wanted me to be happy.

And with that, I then sent my pokémon back into their three poké balls and walked out of the room. I put on her grey, bowler hat and then made my way out of the door...

After that, I then made a long trip to Anistar City. When I got there, my ferry was already waiting for me so I wouldn't have to wait.

"Is this the ferry to Kanto?" I asked, twirling around a honey-blonde strand of my hair.

"Yes indeed, what makes you want to travel all the way to Kanto?" The ferryman asked me, feeding a piece of food to a Fletchling perched on his shoulder who I'm assuming is his partner.

I stuttered and pondered for a moment before saying, "I'm going to Kanto to confess my love to the sweetest boy I've ever met!"

"Fantastic! I remember doing the exact same thing with my wife," He said and then stared at the ocean wistfully.

I then beamed at him. He was quick to move the conversation along so he let me board the boat. I decided to wait at the very end so I could stare out to the sea and wait for Kanto to get closer.

"Alright then, let's get going!" The man called.

I turned around to face him nodded. Then I turned back to face the waves, my thoughts only of Ash...
