chapter 1.
“They went with the flow not thinking about where they will or have ended up.”
"Doraemon!" The door flung open and in came Laila.
Name: Laila Chaudhary
Height: 5'1
Pale blue eyes, freckly cheeks and a toothy big smile. Not to mention a loud mouth as well.
"Oh dear God"
Name: Micheal Raza
Height: 6ft
Warm hazel eyes, lean and handsome. A shy yet extroverted guy.
"You would not believe what happened" yelled Laila from across the cafe. The customers and staff half cringed at the loud voice of this timid girl but didn't bother objecting against it.
"Laila I'm at work" Micheal hissed as he hurried towards the loud speaker who made him receive death glares from his manager.
"Yeah but I won't take long" she said still grinning at him.
"There are only twenty minutes left till my shift is over. Can you wait till then" he said politely holding her shoulders and pushing her to one of the booths in the corner.
"You always do this to me" she huffed crossing her arms on her chest, narrowing her icy eyes.
"And you always choose the wrong time" she narrowed her blue eyes at him making him roll his brown ones. He walked away to jot down the order of another table while Laila happily waved at the manager who passed her a small smile.
It all started when the cafe had just opened and a friend group had ditched her there.
Two years back.
The busy bean cafe had only established a few months ago when Laila had decided to visit the place with few of her friends.
Autumn days, dry weather and a strong aroma of coffee made her smile in content. She sat on a table near the glass window waiting for her friends but even after an hour they hadn't showed up.
The feeling of being ditched was overpowering but she decided not to fret over it. Heaving a sigh she pulled out her phone and opened Wattpad.
Time flew and soon after the end of the second hour someone stood beside her. Making her look up from her phone. Disappoinment filled her to a see boy standing there instead of the friends who promised to come.
"Hi, would you like to place your order now?" he asked smiling softly. A boyish grin taking over his face.
"Hi. I um.. yeah. One strong mocha latte with a slice chocolate cake" she smiled lightly placing her phone away. Thr boy went away and then returned few minutes later with the order in hand. He placed the tray on the table and sat opposite to her.
"Hi. I'm Micheal" he said sitting down infront of her making raise and eyebrow at him. He cleared is throat and continued.
"I saw you've been sitting here alone for two hours, is everything okay?" He asked making her look away rolling her eyes. The white and teal uniform shirt gave away that he was a worker here.
"I was waiting for my friends but I guess they won't show up" she shrugged looking outside.
"Oh. That's really weird. Maybe they had something to do, an important work or something" he suggested. His shift was over and before leaving he thought to pay the mindless customer a visit.
For the past two hours he could see her smiling and grinning at her phone sitting alone while refusing to order saying she's waiting for someone.
"All of them? They couldn't bother sending me a text to let me know their going somewhere else and purposely ditching me" she ranted moving her hands wildly.
Michael could only watch in amusement.
"Then why are you waiting, let them be." he said leaning back in his chair.
"They're so toxic I tell you" she said taking a bite of her cake.
"You can't say their toxic just because they ditched you this once" he said furrowing his eyebrows.
"Once? Honey this is a daily occurrence. They'll ask me to hangout but then leave me hanging" she said puffing her cheeks, red tinted her cheeks and nose making her appear adorable with her chestnut brown hair tied in a messy bun.
"Then why are you still friends with them?" He asked confused.
"Because.... Noonebefriendsme" she muttered under her breath ducking her head down.
"What?"
"Noonebefriendsme"
"What?" He asked again leaning closer.
"No one wants to be my friend." She said loudly making a few heads turn towards her.
"Why so?"
"Aren't you asking too many questions for a stranger" she narrowed her eyes at him.
"We're not really strangers. We go to the same college" he said shrugging.
"Wait really?" She asked surprised.
"Yeah. University of Karachi."
"Oh wow. I'm Laila from the graphics design department" she said forwarding her hand for a hand shake.
"Micheal from architecture department" he took her small hand in his. The tiny hand was soft and warm, wide smiles and a mindless friendship went longer than they thought it would.

"Okay now I'm free. What wrong have you done this time?" he sat infront of her making her look away rolling her eyes at him.
"Well?" He questioned looking at her bored expression. Blue eyes staring out on the busy road, brown hair tied in a messy Dutch braid. He sighed running his hand through his hair.
"One mocha latte, a donut and a simple coffee for me" he beckoned a waiter closer to their usual table.
Laila smirked as he ordered her favourite without her saying. She looked at him from the corner of her eye to find him going through his phone. She stared at him not even trying to apologise for taking longer than said. Laila snatched the device from his hands making him look at her.
"Well. Now will you speak?" He said making her nod.
"For starters I escaped another proposal meeting." She grunted taking her donut and aggressively biting into it.
"That's nothing new, moving on" he said sipping his coffee. He studied her features as she chocked on her donut holding her laughter.
"Then you know my professor shehryar?" She asked making him nod again eyeing her skeptically.
"Yeah. I slammed his head on his table and I'm close to getting expelled" she said looking away. His eyes widened as he spit his coffee out coughing vigorously.
"You did what!?" He yelled making people to turn around and look at him.
"What? You expect me to stay silent while he tries to get close to me?" She yelled with equal frustration.
"What are you going to do now?" he said running his hand through his curls.
"So. I'm going to report him. That's not how it works" she groaned covering her face with her hands.
"Laila"
"Micheal"
"Now what?"
"Now I have to report against him and also make this video go viral" she said showing him the video where he forcefully barged into her office and tried taking advantage of her.
Micheal's hand fisted as his grip on the phone tightened, his gaze hardened as he stared at the man holding her hand.
He looked up seeing her smile mischievously at him and he sighed nodding his head.
"Good boy" she said patting his head.
"I'm not your dog" he swatted her hand away.
"But you're my Doraemon" she grinned. He got up and left.
"You're paying." He left her gaping behind him.
"Doraemon!" She stomped her foot and paid the bill hurriedly running after him with the donut hanging from her mouth.
Word count 1269.
Thoughts? Should I continue?
