Only You (Quibeth)

Qui sighs as she looks at her ringing phone on the table. Should she pick up or not?

The caller ID says that it's Dila but she knows it's about Litzy. How long has it been since they broke up? Two weeks? Qui wants to tell herself she doesn't care, yet everyone knows she does. Litzy would barely be at home, leaving early in the morning and coming back late, exhausted from practicing. Everyone knew they were both clearly hurting.

Qui sighs again and finally decides to pick up on the last ring. "Why this late, Dila?"

"Wow, I don't even get a hello?" Dila jokes on the other side. Qui rolls her eyes, "I'm tired, please tell me what's so urgent, you had to call me this late?"

"Alright, alright," Dila's voice suddenly sounds serious, "mom got a call that Litzy's drunk at Night Lily but we're all busy and can't pick her up. Can you?"

"Drunk?" Qui hesitantly starts, "why? No, nevermind that, don't answer it. I don't care. Can't, I don't know, Maha pick her up?"

Dila sighs, "she's helping Liya with her calc. Please Qui, just pick her up. You know how she is when she's drunk."

"I'll think about it," Qui shrugs while getting up to put her coat on. She hangs up and grabs her keys, jogging down the hall and stops at the elevator.

She bounces her leg, anxiously waiting for the doors to open. "It's fine, I'm just dropping her back home," she sighs, "why is she drunk anyway? Wasn't the breakup so she'd be happier?"

She shakes her head, dismissing her thoughts as the elevator dings and the door opens. She steps inside and pushes the button to the underground garage, where she parked her car.

The doors open again, a few floors down and she steps out, breathing out a little, her breath creating fog in the cold air. She jogs to her car, slightly shivering, unlocks it, and climbs in. She turns on the ignition and pulls out, driving out of the hotel garage.

Qui steps into the doors of the bar, the smell of alcohol hitting her nose immediately. She scans the seats in the dark, trying to find the petite figure of the girl she still loves. She finally spots Litzy slouched over the counter, a glass in front of her.

Qui hurries toward her, trying to steer clear of guys who shamelessly try to hit on her. When she finally reaches Litzy, she hesitates.

She can see Litzy is still conscious, although she seems to have had quite a bit to drink. Litzy's chin is resting on her left hand, her body leaning on the counter and her right hand still holding onto the almost empty glass of alcohol.

"You here for her?" Qui looks up to the bartender. Seeing him nod toward Litzy, she nods. "She had a bit too much than she can handle it seems, but she's still up. I was starting to wonder if anyone would be able to come take her home."

Qui nods awkwardly. The bartender gives her a small smile and resumes pouring drinks.

Qui slowly puts a hand on Litzy's shoulder. When Litzy doesn't respond, she gives her a small shake.

"Hmm?" Litzy turns her head and squints to look at Qui. "Oh my goodness, it's Qui! It's my girlfriend!"

Qui shushes her and hurriedly looks around in case anyone else heard. "Litzy, not too loud. Now come on. Let's get you home."

She helps Litzy stand up, pulling Litzy's arm onto her shoulder and wraps an arm around the short girl's waist. She helps Litzy out of the bar and into the backseat of her car, putting her seatbelt on before hopping into the drivers seat herself.

She hears Litzy giggle and glances in the rearview mirror before starting her car. She silently starts the half an hour drive back home.

Should I ask her? Qui thinks to herself. "Baby, can I have a kisss?" Litzy slurs in the backseat, leaning forward.

"Litzy, please sit back," she sighs. "Why are you being so serious? Did someone make my baby sad? Who?"

You did. Qui sighs again, "no one did, Litzy. I'm just tired. I had to wake up to pick you up from there. Why are you here so late anyway?"

"I wanted to drink the booblez water again," Litzy giggles, "whenever I see Accara, I want to drink it."

Qui raises her eyebrow, looking at Litzy through the rearview mirror again, "when did you see her?"

"I saw her today," Litzy starts playing with her fingers, "I asked her about Pizza Hut. She said she loved me. But I can't love her, I love my girlfriend."

Qui does not comment to that. She didn't know what to say. What was the point of that breakup? Who benefitted from it? She certainly didn't.

Qui feels a poke on her shoulder. "Baby, can you come here please?"

"I'm driving, Litzy."

"Then stop the car," she whines, "I think something got stuck in your seatbelt. I want it back. Your seatbelt is stealing it."

Qui sighs for the nth time, "I can't stop the car. Just wait till we get home."

"Ah waeeee," Litzy starts bouncing impatiently in her seat. Qui groans and pulls over to the side of a closed gas station, turning on the emergency light. She opens her door, steps out, yanking the back door open. "What do you need?"

Litzy points to her seatbelt buckle, "I think it wants my shirt, tell it to leave me alone."

Qui tries to keep down a small smile at Litzy's cuteness and climbs into the backseat. She turns on her phones flashlight, moving Litzy's hair out of the way to see the buckle better. "I don't see anyth-"

Qui suddenly feels soft lips on hers. She's momentarily shocked, but closes her eyes and kisses Litzy back.

Qui can taste the alcohol on the lips she's missed for two weeks. She feels her mind getting hazy and leans forward, pushing Litzy up against the car door. Wait a minute, am I taking advantage of her?

Qui pulls back immediately at that thought and looks at Litzy's face, her still slightly puckered lips and furrowed eyebrows slightly visible by street lamps and her phones flashlight, which is on the floor pointing upwards.

"I-I'm Sorry Litzy, I don't want to do something like this when you're not thinking straight-"

She gets cut off by Litzy's lips again, only momentarily, as Litzy pulls back slightly and whispers onto her lips, "I never think straight, my lovely Qui, I think gay." And with that, their lips meet again, Litzy pushing Qui down onto her back on the seats, forearms on either side of Qui's head as they make out.

Qui's hands find Litzy's hair as she starts kissing further down, occasionally sucking and nipping on her neck, pulling small moans out of the younger.
"Litzy, I don't think-"

"Well I do," Litzy hums against Qui's collarbone, "and I'm starting to sober up, too. I'm sorry Qui. We shouldn't have broken up. It must have hurt like hell when I broke up with you out of nowhere. You're so understanding. But it was a mistake. I missed you and I love you. Take me back?"

Qui was silent for a bit. Litzy hesitantly looks up at her face, scared to see the reaction. As soon as she looks up, Qui pulls her face toward her own, smashing their lips together again. Litzy smiles into the kiss, taking it as a "yes".

Qui sits up, shrugging off her coat. Litzy pulls away from the kiss and tugs off Qui's shirt before pushing her back down and starts trailing kisses down her jaw. "I missed you so much, babycakes."
