Chapter 8

When I came to, I was at the bottom of the stairs, my body hurt and I didn't want to move. I laid there for several minutes until I felt like I could sit up. My foot hurt so bad. It took me a little while but I managed to get up. Putting pressure on it made it even worse. Looking for my phone, I found it shattered a few feet from where I had landed. Luckily it turned on, but the screen was damaged entirely.

"Hey are you busy rn?" I texted Joey.

"yeah, what do you need?"

"nah nevermind." I sent back to him.

I texted Brit, Tre's wife who I can never remember the name of, my grandma, my aunts, my uncles, and everyone was busy. So I limped my way to the bus stop where I took a bus to the ER. I told the ER people that my parents were away on a business trip and that I was staying with my two brothers, they were both at work at the moment, and how I tripped on the stairs and fell- leaving out how I had gotten dizzy. My foot was indeed broken. They set it, put a cast on me and then reluctantly let me go. I needed an Adult to sign me out so I forged it and said that my brother walked in, and then had to go take a phone call. Somehow they believed it and let me go. Rather than take the bus again, I called for an uber.

For the next few days, I avoided my brother and didn't tell him about my foot. Soon it came time for him to leave on tour, and I had skillfully managed to hide my foot when he came in to say bye. Though, to my advantage I had a walking boot and could take it off to shower.

My parents came home just as school ended. I picked my schedule once again, but this time, I chose all easy classes. I took drama four, intro to tech, photo one, I was a TA for an english class, and I took PE. Between all the AP exams I had done, and the online college classes, I had managed to complete almost all of the general education classes. My goal was to apply the community colleges, see what I could do there, but also some 4 year schools. I was going to apply to SF state, Stanford, CSUMB, Sonoma State, UCLA, UCSC, ASU, UoA, NAU.

I hid my ankle from them and never once told anyone. It hurt a lot at times, but no one was the wiser. Unsure of what I wanted to do with my future, I took the summer off from classes, and truly had fun. Turning 17 was pretty cool. I got my license and learned how to drive. Luke's car was still up to date, and perfectly fine to drive, so I got to drive a 2005 BMW 325i. It was very cool. Still lacking in the friend department, I decided I'd make a friend through the internet.

Her name was Samantha, but preferred to go by Sam. She had brown hair, was tall, and very much into The Maine, and All Time Low. I didn't tell her my full name, but I did share that I had two older brothers, and lived in the Bay Area. She lived in Florida, and had two younger sisters. I had met her through a fan fiction website- I found fan fiction to be very weird at first. There were stories about me out on the internet and it made me uncomfortable. I stuck to stories containing actual fiction, like Supernatural, and Doctor Who, and Sherlock. I'd written a few stories, and apparently they were really good because I got like 4.2K reads.

Online, I went by Jane, but I did admit to Sam that it was my middle name. It was interesting, to interact with fans without them knowing who I was. Sometimes I'd read the fan fictions about my dad and would laugh about where they were wrong, and how my life was pretty much a bad fan fiction with an attempt at being different. SO many people thought about finding out BJA was their dad, but I'm the only actual one who's lived it, and I have to say, its odd. The fan fictions say that he brings them on tour, he is always throwing them money, and lets them be all 'punk'. That's not exactly true.

Billie is on tour for a very long time, and he's also in the studio a lot when he's home. I've spent more time at school then with my mom and dad in the last year. It doesn't really bother me though. I was used to Luke being at work, and me at school doing stuff to stay involved.

After my birthday, I choose to go out and adventure. I'd drive south and end up in Fremont. There are some really good food places out there. Other days I'd wander the streets of San Francisco and sit in coffee shops. Joey was on tour again, this time with All Time Low. So I bought a ticket to a few different dates, and drove to go see him. Mom and Dad weren't thrilled I planned on driving across the country by myself, so they made someone go with me. Since I didn't have any friends, they said Danny could go with me. So that's how I ended up in Georgia with my brother's best friend, and was trying to not have a crush on him.

Danny had Dark hair, green eyes, and basically looked like a more punk version of Harry Styles. Let me tell you, I'd so date Harry if I had the chance, I'm not even kidding. The problem was that he was around 22, and I was just over 17. Danny was nice, he was cute, but he wasn't really my type. I'd grown up with him for the last three or so years, and I saw him as a brother as well, an extension of Joey.

Georgia was fun though. We went to Atlanta, saw some of the local historical sights, and then hung out with my brother and his band. We followed them up the coast, and my favorite show was New York. That was where I met All Time Low and got to hang out with them and my brother. They had a day off, and went bowling. I played On the ATL team and Danny played don the SWMRS team. It was really fun. Danny and I stayed in New York for a few days, We went to go see the statue of Liberty, the empire state building, and saw a show on Broadway. Once our time in New York was over, we drove to Chicago where Joey was, and saw the sights there and hung out before heading to Colorado. It was beautiful out there. Arizona was very hot, I thought my skin was going to melt off my body and sizzle on the asphalt.

I was glad that we didn't stay there long, I wasn't sure how anyone could live there in that Oven of a state. I will admit the lower gas prices were attractive as was the cost of food. I had planned to apply to schools out there, So I did check them out briefly before we headed to San Diego. The zoo was fun, as was the show. LA was the last show on the tour, and very fun. The drive home to the Bay was long, but it was very fun. Warped tour was about to come through, and I was very excited for it.

Somehow, I convinced Jakob to go to the Southern California dates with me. So we went to San Diego, drove home, and then drove to pomona. It was a blast. By the end of the weekend, we were sun burnt, tired but very happy we did it. As we drove, I told him how I wasn't sure what I wanted to do. We talked, and discussed some stuff, and by the end of the conversation, I had an idea of what I wanted to do, and try.
