TWENTY ▶ SELL MY SOUL

Faye didn't sleep. She didn't eat. She refused to do anything until she found a cure for Damon's werewolf bite or until she found Elijah and Klaus and kicked both of their asses.

She rushed downstairs the second day after the ritual, running her hand through her hair. She was about to go try to catch Elijah's scent out in the woods and yell at him. Faye thought after that, he might be able to lead her to a cure for the bite Damon had.

Faye had already tried using her blood which they thought would've worked. The wound had closed up and Faye thought it had worked, but it came right back.

She suddenly stopped when she was Damon standing in front of one of the windows, burning. Faye rushed over, throwing him in to the shadows.

"Get off of me." Damon growled at her as she pinned him down. Stefan arrived downstairs with a worried expression.

"What's going on?"

"Damon just tried to roast himself." Faye told him. She then looked back at Damon, "You are not doing this!"

"Just did. You know what happened to Rose, Faye." Damon responded, still trying to push the hybrid off of him.

Faye shook her head, "I don't care. You're not dying today." She blurred down in to the cellar with him, throwing him inside and locking the door. Stefan came to stand behind her.

"What's the plan, Wonder Woman and Superman?" Damon asked them as he moved towards the bed.

"We're gonna find a way out of this." Faye informed the raven haired vampire.

Damon rolled his eyes, "Oh, right. A miracle cure. Good luck with that one."

"I got Bonnie looking for something, anything." Stefan told him.

"Always the hero, you two." Damon said sarcastically, "Just tell me good-bye, get it over with." He bent over, coughing up some blood.

"Lie still, conserve your strength." Faye told him before turning towards Stefan, "I'm going to go try to find Elijah. Make sure he doesn't hurt himself." She looked back at Damon, "I refuse to let you die, Damon. Not now, not ever." With that, she walked back upstairs and blurred out into the woods.

__

Klaus awoke slowly in the woods, looking around at the area. He turned his gaze towards the sun, grinning. He was finally what he always wanted to be, a hybrid.

"You've been busy." He heard as clothes were tossed at him. Klaus lifted his head, seeing Elijah.

"That was amazing." Klaus breathed out, "How long has it been?"

"Almost 2 days." Elijah answered, "Full moon came and went. You remained a wolf."

Klaus began to change into the clothes Elijah had brought for him, "I can change at will, then. It's good to know. I remember every single kill."

"Yes, I've been cleaning up your little mess along the way." Elijah's jaw tightened, annoyed with his younger brother.

Klaus chuckled, "Just like old times, brother."

"You've had your fun." Elijah said to him, "I believe we have a bargain."

"That's right. Now, what was it again?" Klaus asked him, frowning, "Oh, yeah. Wait. I remember. That's it. You wish to be reunited with out family."

"You gave me your word, Niklaus." Elijah said through clenched teeth. He had betrayed little Faye to get his family back and if it had been for nothing, he would be devastated.

"What kind of brother would break his bond?" Klaus asked tauntingly, "Even though you did try to kill me."

"I could have. But I didn't." Elijah said as he helped Klaus put on his jacket.

"And now no one can, not even you." Klaus clapped his hand on his brother's shoulder, "Relax, Elijah. All is forgiven."

Elijah looked at him, irritated, "Where are they?"

"You need to lighten up. I'll bring you to them soon enough." Klaus told his brother. Suddenly, he felt as if he was being watched, "Elijah, don't move."

There was the sound of fallen leaves crunching, a mistake made by common predators when they hunted their prey. Klaus took in the scents of the wild, trying to find something that was off.

Red hair blurred towards Klaus, throwing him towards a tree. Klaus got up quickly, grabbing the attackers throat. They grabbed his, ripping themselves from Klaus' grip. Elijah decided to help, grabbing them and shoving them in to the tree, holding them there.

"You lying bastard!" Elijah looked at Faye as she struggled to get him off of her, "Get the fuck off of me!"

Elijah sighed, "Calm down."

"Calm down? Calm down?!" Faye shouted, "You lied to me, you listened to your stupid asshole brother, and you betrayed me again! Just after I forgave you!"

Klaus rolled his eyes, "Oh, stop with the dramatics."

"Dramatics?" Faye managed to get Elijah off of her and she walked over towards Klaus, "You killed Elena and Jenna, leaving Jeremy alone to have no family for your own gain. Don't tell me to stop because you have no right." She mentioned Elena so he would know nothing was off and she was "dead".

Klaus grinned and stepped towards her until they were nose to nose, "Honestly, love, I don't care. They were collateral damage."

Faye scrunched up her face in anger and did the unexpected. She swung her fist back, driving it in to Klaus' jaw. Klaus' head swung to the side from the impact. Faye had broken his jaw, but it had healed as soon as it had broke.

Klaus stared at her, not making a move. Faye acted on impulse, lunging at him. Elijah swooped in, grabbing her by the waist and pulling her back.

Faye struggled in his grip, but soon calmed down, seeing that she wouldn't get away without being that. She got out of his grip soon enough and turned towards Elijah.

"I need your help." Faye said to him, going back to the original reason she had found him, "What do you know about werewolf bites?"

__

"I'm not sure this is going to work." Bonnie said as her, Faye, and Stefan stood in the abandoned witch house.

Elijah had known nothing about a cure and Klaus, when he had butted in, said that he did not care if Damon lived or died. She was forced to leave them alone when Stefan had called her to meet at the witch house. If he had not, well, Faye would have started a fight with the only other person of her kind.

"You've done a séance before, right?" Stefan asked the witch, "Contacted Emily Bennett. Maybe one of the witches might know how to help Damon."

"Let's just hope they want to." Faye muttered, crossing her arms over her chest.

Bonnie sighed, hanging her down as she began muttering a spell. Whispers filled the house and Faye couldn't make out what they were saying since it was in latin.

"Bonnie?" Faye asked when she stopped chanting, "Bonnie?"

Bonnie's head snapped up along with her eyes, "Emily." Emily spoke through Bonnie using her own voice, "Why have you come here, Stefan, Faye?"

"We need your help." Stefan told her, "We need to know if there's a spell that can heal a werewolf bite."

Emily shook Bonnie's head, "No. Nature ensures a balance to everything."

"Is that true..." Stefan asked Emily angrily, "Or are you just saying no because it's Damon?"

"Perhaps it is his time to die." Emily replied.

"No. That's not balance. That's punishment." Faye spat.

Emily created a scowl on Bonnie's face, "I will not give you what you want."

"So you're saying that there's an answer to give?" Stefan questioned, "Please, if you know something, just tell me. Help me save my brother."

Bonnie suddenly let out a scream as Emily left her body. She collapsed to the floor, holding her head. Faye bent down and helped her up.

"Bonnie." Faye said worriedly.

"They don't want us here. They think I'm abusing their power." Bonnie rambled.

"They know something. There's an answer. They just don't want to tell us." Faye silently cursed the witches. She hated all of them except Bonnie because they always found a way to ruin her life once again.

Bonnie looked up at Faye and Stefan, fear in her eyes, "I heard them say a name."

"What was it?" Stefan asked, desperate.

"Klaus."

__

Faye awaited as Stefan went to talk to Elena about what was going to happen. She stood in the middle of town square, watching the movie that was playing on the large screen. "Gone with the Wind", Damon liked that book.

Oh, Damon. She wouldn't know what to do if he died. He was her older brother, one of her best friends. He took her in, cared for her, and protected her. Even if they didn't get off to the great start (attempting to kill each other is not good way to start a friendship) she loved him just as much as she loved Stefan.

Then there was Stefan. If Stefan lost his brother, it would send him off the deep end. He would become the ripper she had heard so much about and she didn't want that. She needed Stefan to be okay as much as she did Damon. So, she had to make sure they found a cure.

"Hey." Someone said, breaking her out of her thoughts. Faye turned around to see Tyler standing behind her. She put on the biggest fake smile she could and replied.

"Hey." Faye said, "Are you here to watch the movie?"

Tyler shook his head, "Not really. I have to come to all of the town events because my mom makes me."

Faye nodded slowly, "Oh, yeah. I should have known that." She bit her lip, looking up at him, "You wouldn't happen to know anything about a cure for a werewolf bite that doesn't come from a super evil guy?"

"What?" Tyler asked with a frown, "Why would you need to know that? Did something happen? Are you okay?"

Faye waved her hands, "No, I'm fine, Damon's not." She sighed, running a hand through her hair, "Listen, um, the other night when you started to transform, you accidentally bit Damon."

"What do you mean-" Tyler's eyes widened, "Werewolf bites kill vampires, don't they?"

"Look, don't worry about it, okay? It wasn't your fault, Tyler." Faye grabbed his hand, knowing this may be the last time she saw him if she was going to go ask Klaus for a cure, "It's not over, though. There might be a cure, but I have to find Klaus to get it."

Tyler shook his head, "No. From what I've heard, Klaus is some evil dude! He will kill you!"

"No, he had the chance to kill me twice, but he didn't." Faye clicked her tongue, "So, Stefan and I are going to go to him and get the cure. If I end up doing the worst things I may ever do in my life or even end up dying to get that cure, I don't care. I will do anything to save Damon's life."

Tyler stared at her for a moment before taking her face in his hands and pressing his lips against hers. She kissed him back, wrapping her arms around his neck. He pulled her towards him by her waist and they kissed.

When they pulled apart, Tyler rested his head against Faye's forehead, "Don't die." He said to her, "Please."

"I can't promise it, but I'll try not to." Faye whispered softly to him and then pulled away, "I'll see you later hopefully." She didn't give him time to reply before she walked over to Stefan and they began making their way towards Alaric's apartment.

__

Faye saw the door was locked when her and Stefan reached Alaric's apartment. Faye groaned, reaching over to break the lock. She would remind herself to pay Alaric back for it.

"Hello Katherine." Stefan greeted when she came in to view after Faye pushed the door open.

Katherine got up off the couch and glared at them, "Two days, I've been waiting. I'm supposed to be free of Klaus' compulsion by now. He's supposed to be dead!"

"We ran into some..." Faye winced, "Complications."

"Complications?" Katherine asked her.

"Doesn't really matter." Stefan told her, looking around the apartment, "We just need to find him. Do you have any idea where he might be?"

Katherine quickly glanced at the door before shoving Stefan against the wall and telling them both to be quiet. Faye stood still, hearing the footsteps that were coming from the hall. The door was pushed open and Klaus and Elijah entered the room.

"Klaus, you're back. Look who decided to come for a visit." Katherine said coolly.

Klaus' gazed moved towards Faye, narrowing his eyes and smirking at her, "You just keep popping up, don't you?"

"We need you help." Stefan walked forward, making himself known, "For my brother."

"Well, whatever it is, it's gonna have to wait a tick. You see, I have an obligation to my brother that requires my immediate attention." Klaus looked over at Elijah who kept his eyes trained on his god-daughter.

"You understand how important family is, or you wouldn't be here. My brother gave me his word that he would reunite me with my own." Elijah told them.

"And so I shall." Klaus stabbed Elijah through the chest, dagger him. Faye cried out, going to rush forward, but Katherine grabbed her. She struggled, sobbing. Elijah was the only real family she had besides Lacey who was still in New York.

Klaus glanced at her for a moment and then rushed at Stefan. He shoved Stefan against the wall with a grin, "Now, what am I gonna do with you?" He shoved a stake in to his chest, missing the heart, "Do you feel that? It's scraping against your heart. The slightest little movement and you're dead."

"He's just trying to help his brother." Katherine told Klaus.

"The witches said you had a cure. Make me a deal. Just give us the cure, and we'll do whatever you want." Stefan told Klaus.

Klaus took the stake out of Stefan and the younger vampire fell to the floor. He then walked over towards kitchen and poured himself a glass of blood, "Trouble is I don't know if you'd be any good to me the way you are now. Faye's perfect, but you, not so much. You are just shy of useless." He said to Stefan, sipping the blood.

Faye walked over to Stefan, checking if he was okay. Stefan nodded, watching as Klaus' every movement.

"I heard about this one vampire, crazy bloke, always on and off the wagon for decades. When he was off, he was magnificent. 1917, he went into Monterrey and wiped out an entire migrant village..." Klaus grinned wildly "A true ripper. Sound familiar?"

Stefan shook his head, "I haven't been that way in a very long time."

"Well, that's the vampire I can make a deal with. That is the kind of talent that I can use when I leave this town." Klaus replied.

Faye and Stefan got up, narrowing there as at Klaus as he waved Katherine over, "Katerina, come here."

She walked over hesitantly. Klaus took her arm once she was there and his fangs extracts. He bit into her flesh, the venom already coursing through her veins.

"Aah! Aah! No. No..." Katherine cried, "No. No. No."

Klaus rolled his eyes momentarily and bit in to his own wrist. He forced Katherine to drink his blood and her wound healed.

"You want your cure? There it is."

Faye's eyes widened as she watched the skin grow over the wound, "Your blood is the cure."

"Gotta love Mother Nature." Klaus walked over and placed his hands on Stefan and Faye's shoulder, "Now, let's talk, you and I."

__

Klaus let his blood pour into the small vial for Damon. Stefan and Faye sat at Alaric's small dining table, staring at Klaus. Katherine sat farthest from Klaus in fear.

"There it is." Klaus said, setting the vial down, "You want to save your brother, Damon? How 'bout a decade-long bender? And I have big plans for you both when we leave this town."

"I'm not like that anymore." Stefan insisted, his hand clenching the side of the table.

Klaus clicked his tongue, "Well, that's too bad. You would have made a hell of a wingman." He began to pour his blood down the sink.

"No!" Faye shouted.

"Wait." Stefan said, holding up his hand.

Klaus grinned, "Now that's more like it. I want you to join me for a drink." He tossed Stefan a blood bag. Stefan opened it and took the first sip, hesitant to do so, "Finish it. All of it. You two do everything I say, and I save the eldest Salvatore. That's the deal."

Stefan drained all of it quickly, tossing it aside. Klaus tossed him another bag, "Again."

"He'll lose control, Klaus. He can't, he kill so many people." Faye told the other hybrid.

Klaus walked over towards her, placing his hands on the back of her chair. He leaned down, his lips brushing against the shell of her ear, "You see, love, that's exactly what I want. That's what I want you to do too unless you'd like for Damon to die."

"We made it clear, Klaus." Faye said, "We'll do anything if you keep Damon alive."

Klaus smirked at her, bringing his hand up to stroke her cheek, "Good girl." He got up and moved towards the kitchen. Klaus tossed Faye a blood bag, sensing her thirst. She tore in to the bag, letting the blood run down her throat, letting it calm her anger.

__

Stefan was different after Klaus had gave him ten blood bags to drink. Faye noticed that he was fidgeting as he drank the last bag. His eyes were dark and he didn't seem like he could remember anything but the blood.

"You're very cooperative. It's almost as if you're enjoying it." Klaus taunted Stefan as he brought him another bag of blood.

Faye took a stand, shaking her, "No more. Not until you give us the cure."

"Not until we make a deal." Klaus responded, "It's your choice. You can either remain here living your life in Mystic Falls, or you can embrace what you truly are, leave town with me, and save Damon's life." He told the pack mates.

Stefan took the blood bag and began drinking from it. Faye nodded, signalling she would go with them. She refused to leave Stefan alone with him and she refused to let Damon die.

"That's the spirit." Klaus waved Katherine over, "Sweetheart..." Katherine walked over and she compelled her, "Take this over to Damon and come right back."

"No!" Stefan yelled as Klaus handed her the vial.

"You want me to leave?" Katherine asked.

"Yes and if I were you..." She disappeared before she heard the rest, "I'd hurry."

"She'll never take it to him!" Faye exclaimed, "She'll never take it to him." She sobbed, falling to her knees as she cried.

"Oh, don't worry, love." Klaus said, walking over to her, "You'll forget about this place soon enough."

__

Katherine had gotten the cure to Damon according to an angry text he had sent Faye. He was pissed that she and Stefan had trade themselves for the cure. She didn't care though, she was keeping him alive.

Faye jumped off the box she was sitting and walked over to Stefan, showing him the text. He nodded with a solemn look on his face. Faye then turned her gaze towards Klaus who was standing over Elijah's coffin.

"I suppose, brother, you've been reunited with our family." Klaus murmured to Elijah. She sighed, not believing that he would do that to his own brother after he gave him his word, "Put him with the others. We're leaving town tonight." Klaus told the two men working and they did so.

Klaus moved to where Faye and Stefan were standing together, "So..." He began, "Did Katerina make it in time?"

"You won't be seeing her again, you know." Faye told Klaus, not answering his question.

"Because she's on vervain?" Klaus asked. Faye's eyes widened, "I've been around a long time, Faye. I rarely get played for a fool. Besides, she won't get far. You'll help me see to that."

"What is it you really want from us?" Stefan questioned, standing in front of Faye protectively.

"All will be explained in time. Once we leave this tragic little town."

"Then are we done here?" Faye asked, "Can we go?"

Klaus gave her sinister smile and shook his head, "Not quite. You see, I have a gift for you." He looked at Stefan and then moved out of the way so Stefan could see the girl he had brought, "Come here, sweetheart. Don't be afraid." The girl walked over to Klaus and he moved her aside, exposing her throat.

"See, I wanna make sure you honor our deal..." Klaus said to Stefan, "That you'll be of use to me." He bit in to the girls neck and then pulled away, "I could have compelled her to behave, but a real ripper enjoys the hunt." He released her and the girl ran away screaming. Stefan chased after her, going for the kill.

Faye turned her head, not wanting to watch, but frowned when she saw another girl, "Is this one for you?"

"Actually, for you." Klaus said and made a gesture, telling the girl to come over. The girl stood in front of him and they looked at Faye, "You've never made a human kill from what I've heard. You've kill werewolves, witches, but never a human with pure, innocent blood rushing through their veins." He pushed aside the girl's hair like he had done to the other, "You're going to kill her."

Faye shook her head, "No. I only kill for the survival of my pack."

"Well, if you don't do this, we can make a detour to the Salvatore boardinghouse and I can make sure Damon doesn't live to see the sunrise." Klaus threatened, smirking at Faye, "That would defeat the whole purpose of me providing a cure."

Faye's eyes darkened and he irises turned gold. Her fangs extract as she looked at the girl before her, "Fine."

"Now, that's what I wanted to hear."

Klaus let the girl go and she began running. Faye sped after her, playing with her food. She did it when she was a wolf and she'll do it now. The girl thought she was getting away, but Faye appeared in front of her.

The girl let out a scream and Faye dove towards her. She latched herself on to her throat, feeling the blood rush down her throat. Faye moaned, bringing the girl closer as she drained her. The girl soon stopped screaming and she eventually died from blood loss.

Faye dropped the girl to the ground, looking up. Her face was covered in blood as she met the eyes of Klaus and Stefan. Stefan was horrified while Klaus seemed proud of the younger hybrid.

"Now, we can go." Klaus told them, turning to walk to the car. Faye looked back down at the body, on the verge of tears. She couldn't believe what she had done. She had taken her first human life.

__

Later that night, in a hotel somewhere in Virginia, Faye was walking out of the bathroom when she saw the girl who she had killed standing in her and Stefan's room.

"Nice bath I suppose." The girl asked, sitting down on the motel bed. Faye looked around for Stefan, scared.

Faye shook her head in hysteria, "You're not here. I'm dreaming, aren't I? I fell asleep in the bath."

"And how do you know that I'm not here?" The girl asked, grinning at her.

"Because you're..." Faye trailed off, backing away.

"You can say it. You made me that way."

"Because you're dead." Faye muttered, backing herself against the wall. She was freaking out. She heard the girl's heart beat stop and she knew there wasn't any vampire blood running through her veins. She would've tasted it.

The girl nodded, smiling, "Yes, I am. Your first human kill. I feel special."

"You're a ghost." Faye concluded, "You're a ghost and you're haunting me because I killed you. Stefan!" She screamed out, "Stefan!"

The girl got up, stalking towards Faye, "He's not coming, Faye. You're stuck with me." She reached forward, grabbing Faye and banging her head against the wall.

Faye let out a blood curdling scream, alerting Stefan who was out by the front desk. He rushed back into the room, seeing Faye screaming as she was struggling with something. He didn't see anyone.

Stefan walked over to her, taking her into his arms. Faye looked up at him, "Stefan?"

"Hey, I'm here. I'm right here." Stefan stroked her back, looking for anyone who could've been in the room. Faye sobbed as she threw herself at Stefan, wrapping her arms around him. She buried her face in her in his shoulder.

"She was here." Faye whispered as she cried, "She was here. I don't understand."

"Who was here Faye?" Stefan asked her.

"The girl. The one I killed." Faye told him, "She was going to hurt me."

Stefan didn't know what to do other than comfort her, "It's okay now. I'm right here."

He wasn't going to make her go away, Faye knew it as she saw the girl over Stefan's shoulder. The girl waved and Faye let out another scream, scared more than she had ever been in her entire life.
