TWENTY ONE ▶ BLOOD ON MY NAME
"Rudy!" A blonde woman whistled as she tried to find her dog, "Rudy. Come on! It's too hot to make me come looking for you." She bent down to grab a toy off the ground when she saw Klaus standing behind her.
"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to scare you." He said in fake American accent. The woman backed away, wary of him.
"Can I help you?" The women asked him.
"Yeah, my car hmm, my car ran out of gas a couple of miles back." He gestured towards the road behind him, "Eh I feel like I've been walking forever yours is the first house I come to so I was just hoping I could use your phone?"
"Don't you have a cell phone?"
"Huh, yeah." Klaus showed her his cell phone, "Battery died." He explained, "Look I promise I'm not a serial killer I just wanna use your phone."
The blonde sighed, looking at the door of her house nervously, "Sure."
"Soo, I can come in?" Klaus asked her, walking towards the house.
She shook her head, "No, I'll get the phone and I'll bring it out to you."
Klaus' expression showed his annoyance and he lost his accent, "I thought you country folks were supposed to be more trusting."
"I'm from Florida." She informed him.
"Well, that explains it." Klaus grabbed the blonde by her throat and compelled her, "Now show me a little southern hospitality. Sweet pea."
Inside the house, a dark skinned woman was cooking when she heard the door open. She grinned, chuckling as she spoke, "I bet you a hundred dollars that dog ran off to a house with air conditioning."
She turned around, expecting to see just her blonde friend, but finding her standing with Klaus. Klaus smirked at her as she looked frightened.
"What's going on?" She asked.
"Please don't be alarmed. I was told Ray Sutton lives here." Klaus spoke, walking towards her, still holding on to the blonde woman.
The dark skinned woman shook her head, "He's almost never here. He's on the road mostly."
"But I expect he makes it home, once a month." The woman's eyes widened slightly. Klaus grin only grew, "That's what I thought. Where is he now?" She didn't answer, "If I have to make you tell me it's going to be infinitely more painful for you. Hmm."
The woman Klaus wasn't holding decided to run, making her way towards the front door. When she opened it up, Faye and Stefan stood there. She screamed loudly.
Klaus walked up behind her with the blonde, chuckling, "I love it when they run!"
"He's in Toll." The dark skinned woman said, giving up, "It's near the border. A bar called Southern Comfort, It's on Highway 41."
"Thank you my love." Klaus told her before stroking the other woman's hair, "Now, may my friends come in?"
The woman was crying, but she nodded, "Yes."
Stefan and Faye stepped inside. The dark skinned woman looked at Faye, frightened. Klaus pushed the blonde woman in to Faye's arms.
"Faye, kill this one quickly." Klaus then pointed at the dark skinned one, "And make that one suffer." He then walked towards Stefan, placing his hand on his shoulder, "Come along, Stefan. Let's let Faye handle this one."
Stefan looked at her, "Maybe I sh-"
"I got it, Stefan." Faye muttered. Klaus guided Stefan out of the house, leaving Faye alone.
The blonde looked at her, shaking, "Please, don't."
"I'm sorry." Faye said as her face transformed. She lunged at the blonde, biting her. Both women screamed as Faye fed. The blonde fell to the floor, dead, soon enough.
Faye pulled away, looking at the body. She knew even if she was dead, her memory would live on, taunting her for the rest of her life.
For forever.
__
Faye barely slept over the two months she had been stuck with Klaus. Nightmares of the humans she had killed plagued her. Everytime she slept, she woke up screaming and Stefan had to calm her down.
It wasn't only nightmares though. After every human kill, the ones she had murdered stalked her during the day, following her around and telling her she was better off dead. Faye declared them as hallucinations. She had told Stefan and neither of them knew what to do. They had tried to stop Klaus from ordering her to kill, but it was no use. In the end, there was nothing the could do.
Faye sat in the back of Klaus' SUV as they drove towards the bar Ray Sutton would be in. She kept her eyes on the road ahead of them, not wanting to look at the two girls who she had previously killed last night next to her.
"You killed us." The blonde one whispered to her, "Just like you killed your parents."
Faye ignored her. They all tried to pull the parent card on her, but she turned a blind eye to it. She wasn't going to let them use something that wasn't her fault against her.
Stefan looked back at her from the passenger seat, checking on her. He saw how her nails were digging into the leather of the seat. He looked her in the eye, concerned. Faye nodded her head, saying she was fine. For now at least.

"Hey." Caroline greeted Tyler when she met him in front of the Grill. They had been meeting every day for the past two months. Caroline was the one giving him details on Faye's wearabouts. He was worried about her and wanted her to come home more than anything.
"Hey, any news?" Tyler asked her.
"An animal attack in Memphis." Caroline said as they went to sit at one of the outdoor tables, "It's the third one this week in Tennessee. Elena's going to get Damon going after it, but Lacey's definitely going to check it out right now."
Lacey had come back from New York at the beginning of summer, hoping to find her lovely niece waiting for her. Instead, she discovered that her niece had traded herself for a cure for Damon Salvatore. Caroline and Lacey had ended up teaming up with each other to find Faye and Stefan. Caroline gave her the locations they were at last while Lacey searched them.
"Do you think...?" Tyler couldn't continue, not wanting to think of it.
"That it was Faye?" Caroline asked him. He nodded. Caroline shrugged in response, "I don't know. The last three were her."
Tyler ran his hand through his hair, "I just want her to come home."
"It's nice to see you worrying about someone's well being instead of the next person you're screwing for a change." Caroline told him, smiling.
"I care about her a lot." Tyler admitted. Caroline began making kissy and Tyler slapped his hand at her, "Okay, shut up."

"Ignore Ray Sutton and what ever we will do to him. When you leave the bar, you will forget everything that has happened here." Faye compelled the man in front of her. He repeated what she had order in a monotone. She grinned slightly, patting his cheek before walking over towards Stefan who was at the bar.
"That was the last of em'." Faye said, taking one of the shots Stefan had ordered. She knocked it back. When that one was gone, she grabbed another and another and another.
Stefan grabbed her wrist, "Faye, slow down."
"Why? It's not like I can get drunk off some tiny tequila shots." Faye said, waving the glass in his face, "I'll be fine."
"All you've been saying is that you'll be fine." Stefan said, referring to her hallucinations, "Have you...?"
"Yep and they weren't very nice about the whole killing thing." Faye bit her lip, resting her head on the bar, "But, don't worry, Stefan. Only ten more years until it's over and then Klaus will set us free. My almost boyfriend will be thirty and I will be a flawless eighteen year old, but no biggie." She shrugged.
Stefan sighed, "Faye..."
"Speaking of Klaus, where is he?" Faye said, changing the subject. She looked around, not spotting the man who had ruined her life for the past two months. She then saw him walking in through the doors, smirking, "Nevermind."
"Heard my name, all good I hope." Klaus said smugly, walking up to where the two were standing, "Ray Sutton has just made his appearance. We'll wait until he walks in and then Faye, you'll go in and distract him."
"Why do I have to distract him?" Faye asked, pouting.
"He's a man, love." Klaus told her, "He'll want to jump into your pants the first time he see you."
Faye's face twisted in disgust and she tugged on her shorts, trying to cover her bottom a little more.
The man she presumed was Ray walked into the bar, greeting the bartender and ordering a beer. Klaus pushed her forward, making her stumbled a bit. She turned a growled, only to receive a smirk from him.
Faye huffed before grabbing her empty shots and walking back over to the bar where Ray was. She leaned over the bar, grinning, "Hey, barman, I think I may need another few shots. Whiskey please." She then turned to look at Ray, running her tongue over her bottom lip, "And whatever this gentlemen is having over here."
She had gotten good at flirting over the summer, seeing that she was the distraction a lot. Men loved a fiery redhead who willingly bought them drinks. Stefan had coached her and she had used it on random guys out in the bars they would go to.
"What is a pretty girl like you doing in a dirty bar like this?" Ray asked as the bartender set down four new glasses of shots.
Faye smirked seductively at him, "Hmm, maybe it's the other way around." She reached over, taking one of the shots for herself.
"She's good at this." Klaus said as he watched Faye chat up Ray from afar, "Too good. From what I've seen, she's a prude." He watched Faye take one of her shots, licking the alcohol off her lips when it spilt a bit.
"She's the distraction, Klaus. She had to learn to be the best." Stefan replied, not liking how he was seeing Faye throw herself at someone.
Klaus shook his head, growling a bit, "I don't like it. We're stopping her." He walked over to where Faye was whispering something into Ray's ear, "Ray? Ray Sutton?"
Ray turned towards Klaus, removing his hand from Faye's waist, "Who wants to know?"
"I've been looking everywhere for you." Klaus told him with a relieved grin, "We started in Florida, Pensacola. I met a young chap there who you used to work with before you moved to Memphis, now he directed me to two lovely young women. And they led me here, to you."
"I think I'll be going." Ray said, getting up. He moved and Klaus blocked his path.
"Not so fast mate." Klaus placed his hand on Ray's chest, "You only just got here, now your type are very hard to come by."
Ray attempted to walk the other way, but Faye and Stefan blocked his path, "I wouldn't do that." Stefan pushed him back towards Klaus.
"My male friend here is a vampire, he compelled everybody in the bar so don't look to them for any help." Klaus said, gesturing to the people in the bar, "I and the lovely redhead you were flirting with however, we're something else, a different kind of monster, we've got some vampire, we've got some wolf."
"You what?" Ray asked, looking between the two hybrids.
"A hybrid, Ray." Faye informed him, "We're both."
Klaus smirked proudly up at the strawberry blonde and then turned back to Ray, "You see I want to create more of me, now you being the first werewolf that I've come across in many a moon, pun intended Ray. I need you to direct me to your pack. So, where can I find them Ray?"
"You can't compel me, it won't work." Ray said to Klaus.
Stefan scratched the back of his head, knowing it was going to result in torture. Klaus nodded at him and Stefan pulled something out of his back pocket.
"Can you bring out the darts please." Stefan looked from the bartender back to Ray, "Tell you what Ray, We're gonna play a little drinking game, something I like to call truth or wolfsbane." He opened the pouch of wolfsbane and poured some into his hand, crushing it.
Klaus grinned sinisterly, "Oh, this is gonna be fun Ray."
__
It was odd teaming up with Damon Salvatore when looking for Faye and Stefan. Lacey had been working with him and Alaric the whole summer without anyone knowing. She told Caroline she was alone, not with anyone else.
"No invite needed." Lacey said, as she stepped inside the house in Memphis.
Damon and Alaric stepped inside behind her. Alaric looked around, already seeing the blood on the walls.
"It's quiet." He acknowledged.
"Too quiet." Damon added, going towards the living room. Alaric and Lacey followed close behind, seeing the blood on every surface possible.
To say they were appalled when they saw the two bodies sitting up on the couch would be an understatement. They were both covered in body and surely, dead.
"Ugh. Vampire for sure." Alaric said, covering his nose. The stench of death was getting to it.
"Stefan, for sure." Damon corrected.
"How do you know?" Lacey asked, already knowing he was wrong. She only wanted to hear his explanation.
"It's his signature; there's a reason they call him the ripper. Feeds so hard he blacks out and rips them apart, but then when he's done, he feels remorse. It's the damndest thing." Damon kicked one of the body's legs, "He put the bodies back together." The head of the body rolled on to the floor.
"Back together?" Alaric asked, disgusted.
Damon sighed, "Definitely Stefan."
"Actually, no." Lacey said, walking over towards the bodies, "This is not Stefan."
Damon frowned, crossing his arms over his chest, "Explain."
"From what you said, yes it could be Stefan, but you didn't come along to the last three houses with me. They were exactly like this." Lacey explained to him, "But they were Faye."
"How can you even tell the difference?" Alaric questioned.
Lacey walked over to the wall and pointed at some writing that was not very noticeable unless you looked hard. In blood, Faye's name was written. Stefan definitely didn't do that.
"Faye tears them apart and then leaves her name in blood." Lacey rested her hand on the name, closing her eyes, "Not to leave her mark, though. She's helping us find them. She wants to come home."
__
"Pay up." Faye said to the man she was playing pool with. He angrily slammed a one hundred dollar bill into her hand for the third time. She smirked, stuffing the money into her back pocket, "Want to play again?"
The man shook his head, not wanting to lose all the money in his wallet. Faye pouted as he walked away. There was another round of screams that hit her ears and she turned to where Ray was chained to the dart board.
"Ray, you can end this right now. Just tell me where your pack gathers for the full moon." Stefan said as he prepared to throw another dart into Ray.
Ray shook his head, "I can't."
"I know, I know. You live by code and all that, but see he's not gonna let me stop until you tell me." Stefan glanced at Klaus, "And I do whatever he says so, that's the way it goes around here."
A woman walked up to Klaus, attracting both Faye and Stefan's attention, "Hello mister Klaus. I have some more information for you." Both of them walked over as she spoke, "You told me to tell you if I saw anything." Faye listened in, "I saw the guys spotted Damon at the farm house."
Klaus nodded, "Well thank you Claudine, you'll just tell your friends to keep up the good work or they're gonna watch her." The woman walked away and Stefan and Faye walked up to Klaus.
"My brother still on our trail?" Stefan asked him.
"He's getting closer, I'm gonna have to deal with that." Klaus got up, going to leave.
Stefan grabbed his arms in a panic stopping him, "No, no, no. Let us handle it."
"Why should I let you leave?" Klaus questioned.
"Cause, you'll know we'll come back." Stefan answered.
"Do I?"
Stefan sighed and Faye stood by, keeping quiet, "You saved my brother's life; I'm at your service."
"Ah, you sound so tedious and indentured, aren't you even having the least bit of fun?" Klaus asked, pointing a Ray with a huge smile. Stefan kept a straight face and Klaus sighed, "Fine, but Faye stays." Faye felt like crying, but she wouldn't. Klaus looked at her, seeing her almost break apart, "She's too emotional when it comes to Mystic Falls."
Stefan nodded, "I'll make sure that my brother doesn't bother us anymore." He then walked away, going towards the door of the bar. Faye watched as he left, scratching her forearm. All she wanted was a chance to see her friends again.
"Sweetheart, go mind Ray." Klaus said, going back to his seat. Faye nodded, not bothering to argue. She didn't have the energy anymore.
__
Stefan had been gone for awhile, almost two hours. Faye was pissed since she wasn't getting anything out of Ray from the torture.
"Okay, listen here." Faye said, walking up to where Ray was chained up. Ray looked up and she grabbed him by the throat, "I am tired. I haven't slept in months. I'm angry and all I've done is look for you. Tell me where you're pack is."
"No." Ray muttered, "I can't."
Faye growled, staring him straight in the eye, "Tell me now!" She roared out.
Ray suddenly had a blank look on his face as he spoke in monotone, "We gather in the Smoky mountains on full moons."
Faye let go, surprised. Klaus walked up behind her, smirking, "Now, that was magnificent. You can compel werewolves. That witch did a good job creating you, love."
"How the hell could I have done that?" Faye asked, still in amazement at what she had done.
"Maybe one of the perks of being born from a vampire and a wolf, love." Klaus said, "Come on, lets get a drink celebrate." He led her over to the bar. He ordered two bourbons. Faye gingerly took one, but didn't drink it.
"Why haven't you slept in months?" Klaus asked the redhead after a long, drawn out silence between them both.
Faye sipped her bourbon, shaking her head, "It's my problem not yours."
"I'm concerned about you, love." He said to her.
"Don't try to be my friend, Klaus." Faye responded, getting up from her seat, "Not unless you really care enough to get to know me." She knocked back the bourbon before walking outside the bar to get some fresh air.
__
When Stefan walked back into the bar, Faye sat furthest away from Klaus who was with Ray.
"Okay, it's a three step process, Ray." Klaus told him, "This is step one. I want you to drink from my wrist."
Ray was worn out, "I already told you where to find the pack. What more do you want from me?"
"Have you been listening to a word I've been saying, Ray? I have great plans for you." Klaus slit his wrist and pushed the wound against Ray's mouth, "You'll thank me for it later, huh." Ray began drinking his blood in disgust, "There we go, at a boy!"
Klaus pulled his wrist away. Ray looked up at him with blood stained lips and sighed, "What are you going to do now?"
"It's time for step two, Ray." Klaus snapped his neck, the sickening crack causing Faye to wince.
Klaus turned around, smirking when he saw Stefan, "You're back."
"Did you doubt me?" Stefan asked, stuffing his hands in his pockets.
"Not for a second." Klaus told him, "I knew you'd pass the test. You still care for your brother, for your old life."
Stefan shook his head, "Nah, I don't care about anything anymore."
"You put on a good show Stefan. I almost believe you. Lets hope, for your brother's sake, he does." Klaus stepped towards Stefan, "You never stop caring about family, do you. But, every time you feed, the blood makes it easier to let go."
"Can we go now?" Faye spoke up when she walked over to them, "I need to shower."
Klaus smiled slightly at her, "Of course, love. Why don't you wait in the car while I gather up Ray?"
Faye nodded, walking out of the bar. She got in the car and rested her head on the window before beginning to sob.
Stefan got into the car a while after and took the seat next to her. He pulled her into his arms, letting her cry.
"Did you hurt him?" Faye asked after a moment of silence.
Stefan shook his head, "I would never."
"I miss him, Stef. I miss everyone." Faye muttered through her tears.
He kissed the top of her head, resting his own head against her's, "I miss them too, Faye. I miss them too."
__
Back in Mystic Falls, Damon walked into Faye's room. He took in her scent, smiling to himself. He walked over to her bedside table, picking up the photo that she loved so much of him, her, and Stefan. He sat down on her bed, just staring at it.
Damon hated them for trading themselves for the cure so he could live. Stefan had gone full blown ripper and had killed Andie. Faye was picking up his techniques. He hoped she wasn't as lost as Stefan and she could be brought back.
"I miss her too." Damon heard from the doorway. Lacey walked over and sat down next to him on the bed.
"Stefan's gone." Damon informed her, "He came back and killed Andie."
Lacey sighed, "Then we can only hope that Faye's not gone along with him."
"She doesn't deserve this." Damon said with a sighed, still staring down at the photo, "Neither of them do."
