TWENTY NINE ▶ HOMECOMING

Faye couldn't sleep after she had broken down crying in front of Lacey and finally opened up about everything. She sobbed about how she was tortured if she didn't drink the herbs Bonnie had gave her and how her best friend was an emotionless bastard who she couldn't fix. She didn't mention Mikael though, scared that Lacey might warn Klaus about him.

Lacey did her best to help her, but Faye actually told her that she needed space for a while after almost two hours of it and Lacey went upstairs, telling her niece that if she needed her, she would be right upstairs.

It was three hours since then and it was nearing six AM. Faye hadn't shut her eyes for a wink of sleep. She had showered, changed, cried more, and then made her way back down stairs to sit on the couch in quiet. A cup of tea made with the herbs she needed to keep the hallucinations and nightmares at bay sat on the coffee table in front of the couch she sat on, wrapped in a blanket. Her eyes were on the photos of the cave drawings Elena had most likely brought over to show Rebekah.

Her heart ached for the blonde Original. Losing a parent was hard, Faye knew that more than anyone. She was forced to kill her parents at eight and lived without them for ten years with barely anymore of them. But Rebekah knew her mother was dead and thought it was Mikael for Faye didn't know how long. Knowing she was lied to by her brother and that he killed their mother must have been much worse and most likely felt like she was seeing her mother dead again for the second time.

The said girl surprising walked down the stairs, wearing pajama pants and a t-shirt. She had tear streaks down her face and her hair was down and slightly messy. Rebekah turned her head to see Faye who looked like she was going through some bad things to.

"Can't sleep either?" Faye asked her, not averting her gaze.

"What happened to you?" Rebekah asked her.

"Life." Faye responded, reaching to grab her cup of tea. She brought it to her lips, nearly chugging down the drink in desperate need of it's soothing comfort, "What happened to you?"

"My brother, the bastard." Rebekah snarled, going to sit next to her on the couch. Faye let her sit there.

"I heard what he did." The hybrid said to the blonde Original, "That he killed your mother." The way Faye said he sounded like it was forbidden to be spoken between others. Rebekah didn't say anything, "I'm sorry you had to find out about it like that."

"Did you know?" Rebekah asked her, tilting her head in Faye's direction.

"Not until Lacey told me." Faye clarified for her.

Rebekah sighed and rested her chin on her hunching over to lean her elbows on her knees. Her was no longer on Faye's, instead on the blank TV screen in front of her, "I wish I didn't know at all. It feels like she died all over again."

"I would say I know how it feels, but I don't." Faye said to her, "We're under much different circumstances here."

"He's caused me so much pain despite how long I've stood by his side." Rebekah growled, "I want him dead."

"Well, he will be soon." Faye said to herself more than Rebekah.

The vampire's head snapped towards her, "What do you mean?"

"Your father has threatened to tear my heart out if we don't bring Klaus back to Mystic Falls so he can kill him or whatever." Faye told Rebekah, acting out how he was going to tear out her heart, "Like, he literally will. He already tried to if Stefan didn't tell him where Klaus was, which Stefan can't, but there was loophole and I lived."

"He's actually here?" The blonde stood up in shock, her eyes wide, "You released him?"

Faye shook her head, "Katherine was trying to wake him and then she lost him after he fed on her." She looked up at Rebekah who was having mild panic attack. She then regretted telling her anything because deep down, she had the feeling that would be the moment Rebekah would run and warn Klaus before they could do anything.

"And he's here to kill my brother?" Rebekah asked, her voice shaky. Faye decided that she could also be scared more than anything.

The hybrid nodded, "Yes. He's not going to hurt you." She attempted to assure the girl. Rebekah seemed to calm down more, so Faye continued, "Are you going to warn Klaus?"

"I just said I wanted him dead. Why would I warn him?" Rebekah questioned the strawberry blonde in front of her. Faye let out a relieved sigh, "I want to help."

"Wait, what-?" Faye's eyes widened, "You want to help us kill your brother?" Now that shocked Faye.

Rebekah nodded, "He'll trust me more than he trust Stefan. I'm his own flesh and blood, his little sister who he believes would never lie to him." Despite the dedicative tone in her voice, Faye still gave her a skeptical look. The Original sighed, "Faye, I want to be happy and feel normal for once in my eternal life. You heard what I said before, he has caused me so much pain and he will continue. If I want to feel even the least bit normal, he can't be in the world anymore." She stepped closer towards Faye, "I'll help you."

"What's the catch?" Faye asked her.

"Nothing." Rebekah told her as she sat back down, "Thank you for trusting me though and giving me a chance to warn him if I wanted. It shows a real sign of friendship."

"Whatever you say."

__

Rebekah joined Faye when she had gone over to the Salvatore boarding house to create a plan to take down Klaus. The blonde Original knew they were going to be there all day, so she brought the things she need to prepare for homecoming (which Faye had completely forgot about, but Rebekah had told her that she bought a dress for the hybrid). The Salvatores were surprised to see Rebekah and Faye was bitched at by Damon, but they came to see Rebekah was on their side.

The Original gave minimum help before going upstairs to Faye's old room to begin preparing. She didn't want to hear how her brother was going to die, she just wanted to know that he was.

"Aye- let's say that Mikael followed Elena in here." Stefan suggested as him, Faye, Damon, and Elena walked into the library together, "He tried to grab her, so he could use her as bait."

"And you what? Vervained him?" Elena asked. Faye plopped down in a chair at the small table in the middle of the room that had a pile of books on it. She had brought a mug of blood with her to drink as she contributed to the plan.

Damon shook his head, "No! We vervained him! This guy is an original. To make it realistic."

Stefan sighed, "O.k. fine. We vervained him, and in the process discovered that he had a dagger."

"Which he planned to use on Rebekah, but instead..." Faye trailed off, looking over at Stefan from her seat.

"We drove it through his heart." He finished for her with a smirk. Faye had decided new, emotionless Stefan wasn't for her liking as she spent the last hour with him, but he would have to do for now.

"And what happens when he asks to see Mikael's body?" Elena questioned, glancing up at the tall, dark haired, vampire next to her.

"Good point!" Damon agreed before turning to face his brother, "You my brother have been compelled to do what Klaus says. So the idea is to lure him back here and kill him- last thing we need is you getting tripped up and tongue-tied."

Stefan shrugged, "Well, don't look at me I am just in charge of getting him back here."

"Klaus may be evil, but he's not an idiot." Faye told Damon and Elena, standing up from her seat and setting down her mug. She walked back over to stand next to them, "If we tell him Mikael is dead, I'm one hundred percent sure he's going to actually want some proof."

Mikael stepped forward from where he stood and entered their conversation, "Then I shall be dead." He said to Faye. She glared at him, disliking him from what he did to her the day before. She had plans to have him killed with his dagger for good right after he killed Klaus for them.

"What if he wants to see you in person?" Elena inquired.

"Well that means our plan is working." Mikael said, "Klaus will absolutely want to see my body. You lure him here- and I will kill him."

"With what?" Faye asked him, "Those daggers won't work on him, Elijah said so."

"Well, I'm in possession of a stake fashioned from the wood of the ancient white oak tree." Mikael told her, "The one that left these ashes when it burned."

"Where is it?" Faye continued questioning him, not trusting him one bit.

"Not here." He responded, "The knowing of its location is my insurance policy."

"Against what?" Stefan then inquired.

"You leaving this in my heart" Mikael pulled the dagger out of his inner jacket pocket, pointing it towards Stefan. Faye stared at it, once again mesmerized by the dagger. She still found it beautiful,

"You see, a vampire can't dagger an original without dying." Mikael said as he began walking forward towards where the four were standing. He made his way towards Elena, "So- it falls to you." He told the doppelganger, pointing the handle of the dagger towards her for her to take.

"Y-You want me to actually dagger you?" Elena stuttered as she took the dagger from his hand.

"Klaus will leave nothing to chance- especially when it comes to trust."

"Got that right." Faye muttered, thinking back to the time he snapped both her and Stefan's necks because he believed they were plotting against him. Despite the fact they actually were, Faye did think he could have been a bit more trusting. It was how you made friends.

"So, I just do it?" Elena asked.

"Yes. Preferably, now."

Elena took no time to drive the dagger through Mikael's heart easily. The Salvatores and Faye watched with a blank look on their face. As Mikael died, they did nothing to lay him on the floor gently, they all just let him drop.

A couple of moments later, Stefan had his phone of and was calling Klaus. Rebekah had joined the group in case Klaus asked to speak with her. Faye tapped her foot impatiently, waiting for Klaus to answer. She just wanted to get it over with so she can go back to being as normal as possible and make out with her boyfriend.

The phone finished ringing and the other line answered. Klaus' voice seeped through the speaker and Faye's enhanced hearing allowed her to hear what he was saying.

"Portland is fantastic." Klaus stated and she could practically hear his grin, "Once you get over all the whiny music and healthy looking people it is literally a breeding ground for werewolves."

"Your father is dead." Stefan said, not even batting an eyelash.

Klaus' tone immediately changed, "What did you say to me?"

"Oh, my mistake." The youngest Salvatore replied, "Not your actual father and not dead. Mikael. Daggered. What do you want me to do with the body?"

"Well, first I want you to explain to me exactly what happened."

Stefan went on explaining exactly what they had planned earlier. He said they vervained him when he came in and attempted to attack Elena before allowing the said doppelganger to dagger him, what he said he had planned to do to Rebekah.

"I wanna see him. I want to see his rotting body for myself."

"Well, he's here." Stefan drawled, "Come by whenever."

"If you are lying to me Stefan, your compulsion will expose you." Klaus said, "So, answer with your life: Is what you are saying the truth?"

"It's true. I saw it with my own eyes."

Just as they predicted, Klaus demanded to speak to Rebekah. Stefan obliged and handed the phone over to the tense Original. She placed it against her ear, a solemn look on her face.

"Hello Nik."

"Rebekah, love." Klaus greeted his sister, "What's this I hear about Mikael's tragic run in with the dagger?"

"It's true. He's finally out of our lives for good." Rebekah lied through her teeth, "I miss you. I'm miserable here."

The sigh in Klaus' voice was prominent, "I'll be home soon." Faye expected him to say goodbye, but he spoke again, "How's the lovely Faye?"

Everyone's eyes flickered towards Faye. She stared over at Rebekah with wide eyes, wondering why he would be asking about her. Rebekah glanced over at the strawberry blonde before turning her head to look straight forward.

"She's alright. A lot better than she has been the past few days." Rebekah told her brother.

"That's good." Klaus said. Faye mocked gaga at the sound of worry fading from him his tone. Rebekah shot a glare at her.

"I'll see you soon, brother." Rebekah simply said before hanging up Stefan's phone, "He bought it. He's coming home."

"Now- was that easy or what?" Damon asked, clapping his hands together. Faye was glad he wasn't bothering her about Klaus' small interest in her well being.

"Let's just get this over with." Elena bent down to pull the dagger swiftly from Mikael's chest.

__

Completely forgetting she also was needed to help set up homecoming, Faye stayed at the boarding house. Her hair was pulled back as she was in Stefan's room, reading through his journals. It was her favorite pastime. Stefan stood not to far from her, looking in his closet. He had been attempting to find something to wear with his suit for the past two hours, but finally found the tie he wanted and got ready. They planned to leave for homecoming in a couple of moments.

She didn't feel up for homecoming. Her week had been rough, especially last night for her. Faye just want to stay home, but she had to go. The plan involved going to homecoming and waiting for Klaus to show up so it didn't seem suspicious.

Faye was already in her dress and her makeup was done, allowing her to take some time to herself. She wore a tight white dress with gold detailing over the sheer fabric of the chest piece. She matched it with a pair of white pumps, which she found easy to walk in, unlike Elena. Elena had nicely braided her hair before going to chat with Rebekah about something. Faye knew it was probably about Matt, who Rebekah had told her Tyler set her up with.

Faye phone began blaring the song "Barbie Girl" which Damon had set for her ringtone as Caroline. The girl sighed, dropped Stefan's journal and reached for her phone.

"Hello?" Faye said when she pressed the green button on the screen.

"The homecoming you were supposed to help set up has now been flooded. Everything's ruined." Caroline told her, sounding exasperated. Faye groaned, realizing what she had forgotten to do.

"Dammit Caroline, I'm sorry." Faye said to her.

"It's fine. I'm just a little pissed that all that work I did..."

"So, is the dance canceled or..?" Faye asked, trailing off.

Caroline sighed, "No, Tyler is moving the party to his house."

"Wait, we're going to have a high school party for homecoming. Like keg stands and all that jazz?" The hybrid scrunched up her nose in disgust. She wasn't up for a party like that.

"Just say your still coming." Caroline never answered her.

Faye nodded even though the blonde vampire could not see her, "I am. We all are."

"Good and if I don't see you, I'm going to hunt you down."

"Love you too, Care." Faye muttered as they both hung up. The strawberry blonde turned her head to look at Stefan who was shrugging on his suit jacket. He raised his eyebrow at her.

"We heading to your boyfriends or what?" Stefan asked her.

Faye nodded and grabbed her bag before walking out the door of Stefan's room with him.

__

Faye and Stefan arrived together at the Lockwood home surprised with the party. Many people were already there and Faye could hear the loud music coming from what sounded like a live band. Her eyes widened in shock.

"How the hell could he plan this?" Faye asked as her and Stefan walked up to the front steps of the Lockwood home. They pushed through multiple people, "Not to be rude, but Tyler isn't capable of this." She looked around and frowned, "I get that I don't know a lot of people because of amnesia, but half of these people I don't think even live in this town."

"You're actually right." Stefan responded. They managed to make their way out to the backyard where even more people were gathered. A live band was on a large stage and multiple kegs stood around. The party looked like it had been planned way before the gym became flooded.

"Okay." Faye muttered, "This is not possible."

"You have zero faith in him. You're relationship must be horrible."

Faye turned and glared at Stefan momentarily as Tyler passed by them, carrying things necessary for the party. Stefan stepped up to him.

"Hey!" Tyler said to the two of them, "What's up?"

"Hey Tyler. Nice party you've got going on." Stefan replied.

"Thanks, but I'm not the one throwing it." Tyler replied honestly, "I'm just doing what Klaus wants."

Faye's eyes widened at the mention of Klaus' name. She reached forward, grabbing Tyler's forearm, "What do you mean?"

Tyler shook his head, "It's not a party. It's a wake." He informed her. Faye cursed inwardly. She should have known Klaus would make a large spectacle of Mikael's death.

The man of the hour stepped out onto stage and the music stopped. The crowd erupted into applause as Klaus grinned. Faye turned her head, narrowing her eyes at the Original hybrid.

"Good evening everyone!" He called out, "I wanna thank you for being here with me to celebrate! It's been a long time coming!" As he finished, the band began playing again and he began to make his way of stage.

"Ugh." Faye groaned before turning back to look at Tyler. Tyler leaned forward and pressed a soft kiss against Faye's lips.

"Hey, I'll see you later."

"Alright." Faye replied and let the hybrid go. He walked away from her and Stefan. She turned to face Stefan, "First, you become Klaus' minion and then my first boyfriend joins you." She sighed out.

"Yeah, you've had some pretty bad luck. Sucks for you."

Faye glowered at him, "I miss when you were broody and nice."

"I don't."

Faye scoffed at him. She practically stormed away from him like a child and weaved her way through a dancing crowd. She wanted so badly to leave the party, or wake as Tyler called it, but she had to stick through it.

As she attempted to make her way through the crowd, her chest suddenly hit someone. She went to apologize, but her eyes met blue ones that haunted her dreams. The last time she saw him, he had killed Tyler without even acknowledging her cries for him to stop. She glared harshly at him.

"Now, love, I believe I deserve an apology." He said tauntingly.

"You don't deserve it." Faye replied, preparing to walk away from him. Klaus grabbed a hold of her wrist. She moved her head and their eyes connected. She flashed her fangs boldly at him.

"I see your still upset with me." Klaus sighed as he removed his hand from her wrist.

Faye raised her eyebrow at him in mock shock, "Did you think I wasn't going to be? First, you killed my friends in a ritual. Then you forced me and Stefan to come with you on a road trip to make hybrids and made me kill people. You turned my pack member and my boyfriend into a hybrid by killing him in front of me and made him your minion. And let's not forget that you forced Stefan to turn off his humanity."

"You're a ruining my very good mood." Klaus said to the girl.

Faye rolled her eyes at him, "Yeah, I forgot. Your dad's dead and you ruin my homecoming."

"I believe this party is a lot better than the one you were going to go to, sweetheart." He responded, a smirk growing on his face. A slower song than before began playing in the background, "Would you like to dance?" He asked, holding out his hand.

Faye scoffed loudly, "Did you not just hear that I was pissed at you?" She questioned him with her eyebrows furrowed deeply together.

"Can we see past all that for just a couple of minutes and celebrate?" Klaus raised his eyebrow and grinned.

Faye narrowed her eyes at him for a couple of moments. She did have some things to celebrate like that fact he'd be dead soon. She smiled bitterly at him before placing her pale hand in is. Klaus smirked widely before bringing her closer to him. Faye made sure there was some distance in between them as he guided her in a dance.

"You look lovely." Klaus told her.

Faye smiled sarcastically at the hybrid that had a tight grip on her hand as they dance, "I know."

Klaus let out a chuckle as he spun her out slightly and pulled her back in closer. Faye stepped back again, making sure there was the right amount of distance between the two of them. It became quiet for a while before Klaus spoke to her.

"How are you doing?" He asked her.

"Aw, is the big bad hybrid concerned for me?" Faye mocked him. He glared at her, "I'm okay."

"That's nice to hear. I believed you would be a wreck after you saw your parents again." Klaus said. Faye frowned, wondering how he had known that, but remembered that Rebekah most likely told him, "It must have been hard seeing them again."

"I don't want to talk about it." Faye muttered, shaking her head at him.

"Faye-" He attempted to push her.

Faye yanked herself away from him and glared, "I said, I didn't want to talk about it." She nearly shouted. She calmed herself down and straightened up her posture before turning away from the Original, "Have a goodnight, Klaus."

Faye walked away, leaving behind a slightly upset hybrid in her wake.

__

Homecoming went on and Faye managed to avoid Klaus for most of the time. She saw him speaking to Tyler for a couple of moments before her hybrid boyfriend, but she was unable to hear what they were saying to one another. Tyler walked over to where she stood, drinking a coke she had found deep beneath the beers in the cooler. He asked her to join her in his room and she agreed.

Tyler shut the door behind him and walked up to Faye, looking concerned, "What are you up to with Klaus?" He asked her.

Faye perfected her lying skills and gave him a confused looked, "Uh- nothing."

"He is on to you, Faye." Tyler told her. It seemed like a warning and Faye would heed to it when she was done with this chat with her boyfriend, "Whatever you all think you're about to pull off- he's two steps ahead of you!"

"Okay, I don't know what you're talking about." Faye said. She hated lying to Tyler, but she had to. She had to have Klaus dead.

"You're lying to me." Tyler told her.

"No, I'm not." Faye sneered, "I don't know anything. Even if I did, I wouldn't tell you about it, because you are sired to team Klaus now. And you can't be trusted. Can we just go back to the party?" Tyler didn't answer so Faye stepped to move around him. As she attempted to leave, she was met with a needle in her throat, vervain pushing it's way into her veins. Her eyes rolled into the back of her head and she collapsed to the ground, seeing darkness.

__

Slowly, Faye came to and her eyes blinked rapidly as she woke up on Tyler's bed. The said teen walked back into his room and looked over at her.

"Are you okay?" He asked her, concern filling his eyes.

Faye canted her head to the side, "What do you think?" She asked him sarcastically.

"I'm sorry I stabbed you." Tyler looked down guilty, "It was the only thing I could think of to get you out of there."

"You know a 'Faye you should get really get out of here. Klaus made some threats and he might kill you.'" She said bitterly, moving to get off the bed.

"If you knew all your friends were gonna get together and try to take down Klaus, would you have left?" Tyler asked her. The try made Faye know Klaus wasn't dead. She inwardly sighed. This was their only plan at the current time and it failed.

"I did know, that's why I wasn't leaving." Faye told the other hybrid as she grabbed the heels Tyler must have taken off her. She tugged them back on and sighed.

"You lied to me?" Tyler asked, slightly shocked.

"I'm sorry, but I had to. You would have gone running to Klaus if you knew we were trying to kill him." Faye said to him as she grabbed her clutch. She walked to stand in front of him, slightly shaking her head, "How am I supposed to be with you when you're sired to him?"

Tyler let out a sigh, "I need you to understand, Faye."

"Understand what? That you're one of the bad guys now?"

"Understand that this is who I am!" He shouted, "There's nothing that I can do about it. Klaus can't be killed. I can't be fixed. Understand that I'm okay with it."

Faye let out a dry laugh, "How can you be okay with it? He has complete control over you, Tyler."

"Because it's better." Tyler answered, "I don't have to turn, Faye. Not unless I want to. I never have to go through that pain again. If being sired to Klaus is the price that I have to pay, so be it. And it's not like I had any control before. the full moon controlled me."

"Tyler-"

"After everything that we've been through, you've been there for me through all of it." He said, stepping towards her. Tyler took her hand in his, "Don't turn your back on me now."

Faye let out a long huff and glanced up at him, "Tyler..." She couldn't be with him if he wasn't on their side. She couldn't be with him, because basically, she was with Klaus.

"Right." Tyler muttered, dropping her hand.

"I just..."

"I got it." Tyler spoke, his voice full of sadness. Faye watched as he left his room , her face dropping. She stopped the tears from filling her eyes before walking out of the room and making her way straight towards the door of the Lockwood mansion. She stepped through it, seeing it was already open.

Faye rushed out the door, only to run into the one person she did not want to see. Klaus stood around, watching his hybrids clean up the mess he had most likely made with Mikael. Faye attempted to walk straight past him, but he grabbed her arm.

"I don't appreciate that you attempted to kill me." Klaus hissed at her.

Faye tugged her arm out of his hand and glowered at him, "I don't care." She replied, "I don't even regret sending Mikael after you. The only thing I regret is that the stake he had didn't pierce your heart and I didn't get to see your dead body for myself."

"I should kill you for doing this." Klaus sneered at her.

"Please do." Faye responded, "It'd be a great way to top off everything you've done to ruin my life."

Klaus released her arm and backed away from her, having nothing else to say. Faye straightened herself up before she pushed past him and used her vampire speed to blur herself back to Lacey's.
