TWELVE ▶ NOT A DAMSEL IN DISTRESS
All of the girls were cuddled into the bed in the room Lacey had provided Faye if she had ever needed to stay over. Elena was on the left edge of the bed next to Faye who was curled up next to Caroline. Bonnie got the right edge of the bed and was curled up facing the wall.
Elena's phone began ringing loudly, awaking all of them. Faye groaned loudly as she yelled out, "Go away!" She kicked Elena out of the bed, causing the brunette to fall to the ground.
Elena's face smacked against the hardwood floor, "Unf." She looked back up at Faye and glared angrily at her. Faye smirked before turning back to sleep. Elena reached up on the dresser and picked up her phone to answer it, "Hello?"
Faye and Caroline both sat up and growled at Elena.
"Shh." Faye said.
"Elena!" Caroline yelled, throwing one of the pillows at her. Elena rolled her eyes and dragged herself out into the hall.
All the girls tried to sleep again, but Faye groaned, sitting up, "I can't go back to sleep now."
"Why not?" Caroline asked.
"Because now I'm hungry." Faye answered before sliding out of her own bed.
Both Caroline and Bonnie sat up as Faye began walking out of the room. Bonnie, since she was hungry herself, decided to follow Faye down to the kitchen. Faye had gone straight towards the fridge while Caroline and Bonnie looked at the photos on the walls. There was one of Faye when she was younger, wearing a pink Power Ranger costume. Caroline giggled, seeing that Faye was flexing in the picture. In another, were the people who they both assumed were Faye's parents, kissing their daughter's cheeks while the little girl smiled.
"You were so adorable!" Caroline squealed as she looked at the other pictures, "You look exactly like your parents."
"So I've heard..." Faye muttered sadly as she began making toast and some cereal for herself.
"I'd have to admit, your dad's hot." Bonnie said as she walked over to Faye.
Faye groaned, "Don't even say that again. That's disgusting."
"He is though." Caroline replied as she attempted to take some toast from Faye. The hybrid smacked her hand away, "Hey! I'm hungry!"
"But you're not helpless so make yourself some food." Faye told her as she placed the toast in her mouth, picked up her bowl of cereal, and walked over to the kitchen table.
Bonnie chuckled, "So defensive over your food."
"I lived in the wild for ten years, Bonnie. I fought with a pack of wolves everyday to just get a squirrel or maybe a bunny. I will fight with anyone for just a piece of toast because it's my survival instinct." Faye shoved a spoon full of Cheerios in to her mouth, shrugging.
Caroline nodded slowly, "Okay... Do you also have that super appetite like wolves are supposed to?"
Faye gasped, "You got that from Twilight! I'm ashamed that you're comparing me to those shape shifter puppies."
"Okay, sorry." Caroline held her hands up in defense, "But, do you?"
"I do. And with my vampire cravings on top of my werewolf appetite, it's a huge one."
"I still can't get over the fact that you're both." Bonnie said as she made her own breakfast, "That's never happened before has it?"
Faye shrugged, "I wouldn't know. Ask your witchy ancestors."
Bonnie rolled her eyes and plopped down in the chair next to her. Caroline did the same, taking the seat across from Bonnie, "How are you doing? After last night and all..."
"I'm fine." Faye snapped, "I'm not a little girl, Caroline. You're mom did the exact same thing a few weeks ago and I survived."
Caroline's face fell. She forgot what had happened between her mom, the Salvatores, and Faye. She sunk in to her chair as Faye shot her an apologetic look. Bonnie looked down, taking in the awkward silence.
"Faye!" Elena called from the other room, "Stefan said you have a volunteer shift at the hospital in an hour and you have to go to the tea party thing at the Lockwoods."
Faye groaned, "Crap, forgot about that." She got up quickly, rushing upstairs to get ready for the day.
__
Faye walked down the hall with one of the little girls that she hung around with at the hospital, seeing they needed the company. Dani was an eight year old girl who was diagnosed with leukemia three years ago and she had been living in the hospital ever since. Faye felt a connection with her, seeing that they both were without a somewhat good childhood.
"Can I ask you something?" Dani asked as she swung her stuffed animal beside her as she walked. It was a wolf, something Faye had gotten her for her birthday a month ago.
Faye nodded, "Sure, anything."
"Am I pretty?" Dani questioned, her hand going up to where her hair had once been.
Faye frowned , stopping in the middle of the hall to crouch down in front of her, "Who told you, you weren't?"
"It's just. You're pretty because you have long hair and I don't have any hair at all. That makes me not pretty." Dani reached out to touch Faye's strawberry blonde locks.
"You're wrong, Dani." Faye told her, "You are one of the most beautiful little girls I have ever met. You may not look like all the others, but that doesn't make you ugly. We're all different. But, even if you are pretty on the outside, that's not what matters the most." She placed her hand over Dani's chest, "It's what's inside that matters the most."
Dani furrowed her eyebrows together, "What do you mean?"
"You're kind, smart, loving, and caring. You're a good person." Faye said, "And that's what really matters."
Dani smiled, "So, am I pretty?"
Faye chuckled and grinned, "Very pretty." She stood back up and took Dani's hand once again, "Come on, back to bed. Lunch will be here soon."
Dani nodded and they both walked back into the hospital room. Lunch came soon enough and before the food reached Dani, Faye went off to the side and hid herself as she bit in to her wrist. She let a small amount of blood seep in to her drink. She did this for every child she read to or hung out with a the hospital. Faye let them have enough blood so they could heal little by little each day and there was no chance that they would turn if they were to pass away. She didn't like seeing the kids suffer.
Faye gave Dani her lunch and went to go help the younger ones with theirs. When she was finished, her shift was over so she changed back into her normal clothes before walking out of the hospital.
When she was outside, she accidentally dropped her bag when she knocked shoulders with someone. She began grabbing her things and then looked up, seeing Tyler.
"What are you doing here?" Faye growled at him, snatching her phone from his hand before collecting herself.
"I know you volunteer here and I just wanted to say I'm sorry." Tyler said. Faye rolled her eyes, walking past him. He grabbed her by the arm and forced her to face him, "Please, Faye. I'm sorry about what happened, okay, but there's so much we need to talk about."
Faye snarled, baring her teeth. She grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and shoved him into the brick wall of the hospital, "I don't care about your apologizes. I don't care what you have to say. I don't care if you're pack anymore. If you fucking man handle me again, I swear to god I will kick your ass." She let go of him and glared at him, "Stay the hell away from me."
__
Faye ran a hand through her hair as she entered the Lockwood mansion. She felt the need to rip someone's head off after her run in with Tyler. She had just finished doing her favorite thing in the whole wide world and then the bastard had to ruin it for her.
"Faye!" Jenna walked over to the girl with a smile on her face. Faye plastered a fake one and greeted her, "What are you doing here?"
"Two words." Faye said, "Carol Lockwood. She roped me in."
Jenna huffed, "Tell me about it. I've been showing this new author everything about Mystic Falls. How are the kids at the hospital?"
"They're doing better. Some of them are making an improvement and might finally beat the cancer so they can have a normal life." Faye replied with a genuine smile, "I'm happy for them and their parents."
Jenna smiled. Faye was one of the most compassionate teenagers she had ever met. She cared for children and did things no other teen would volunteer for. She helped out and Jenna liked that.
Faye turned her head when she caught the scent of Damon's expensive cologne. Damon entered, a smirk on his face. He began making a beeline towards Elijah, but Faye and Jenna intercepted.
"Damon, what are you doing here?" Jenna asked him.
Suddenly, Andie Star walked up to the trio and practically fell in to Damon's arms. Damon looked over at her and smiled.
"Hi. You came." Andie said to him.
He grinned, "Hi."
"Hi."
They kissed, causing Faye's eyes to widened. Damon Salvatore with a girlfriend? No. She sniffed the air, smelling the dried blood on Andie's throat.
"Thanks for introducing us, Jenna." Damon said before walking away. Faye followed after him, grabbing his arm.
"Really?" Faye sneered in a low voice so no one could hear, "You made the news lady in to a bombshell blood bag?"
Damon rolled his eyes, "Don't go all pack mom on me now."
"I'm sorry that I'm concerned that when they find those bites on her they'll kill you, find about your vampire friends, then kill me and Stef." Faye said quietly, "I'm sorry that I'm concerned for our well being."
"Relax, Faye. We'll be fine." Damon looked around and saw Carol talking to Elijah. Faye knew Elijah was posing as this great author that wanted to write all about the small town of Mystic Falls. Faye thought it was absolutely stupid, but Carol thought it was believable.
"Damon." Carol greeted him.
"Carol."
"What a surprise."
"Hi." Damon and her exchanged kisses on the cheeks and Faye wanted to barf. Elijah watched her with amusement as she rolled her eyes.
Carol then smiled warmly at Faye, "Faye. I'm glad you came. How were the children?"
"They were great as always." Faye said with a smile. She always smiled when talked about the kids she helped.
"Oh, good." Carol replied before introducing them both to Elijah, "Elijah, I want you to meet Damon Salvatore and Faye Daniels. Damon's family is one of Mystic Falls' founding families and he took Faye in recently. Faye volunteers at the hospital and the library. She helps the children."
"I know."
Carol's eyes widened, "You do?"
"Faye is actually my god daughter."
Damon's eyes widened and Carol's got even larger. Faye glanced up at Elijah, glaring at him. He had just her in a huge loud of shit that she may not be able to dig herself out of.
Damon stuck his hand for Elijah to shake anyways, still looking at Faye, "Such a pleasure to meet you."
Elijah gave him a fake smile, "No. Pleasure's mine."
Damon then gave Faye a look that gave her the idea that they were going to talk about this later.
__
"You are in so much trouble." Damon growled as they stood in the study together. Faye rolled her eyes, swinging her legs back and forth while she sat on the desk.
"Wow, I'm shaking." Faye said boredly.
Damon looked at her, "Why didn't you tell us that Elijah was your god father? You spent two whole days with him. Two!"
"I thought you would've got the hint last night! Besides, I wasn't in any danger-"
"He's the enemy, Faye!" Damon yelled at her, "He waltz in to town and we don't know what the hell he's up to! For all we know, he's working with Klaus!"
Faye was fuming. She stood up and marched over to Damon, "But he's not my enemy! I have the right to learn about my family as much as the other person! He knew my parents, he was my dad's mentor! I just wanted to know about them!"
"Go to Lacey then, not him!" Damon countered.
Faye huffed before trying to walk away. Damon grabbed her by her arm. Faye growled. She was tired of having that done to her today.
"Damon, let go of my arm or I swear to god." Faye threatened under her breath.
Damon narrowed his eyes at her, "What Faye? What will you do?"
He didn't let go, setting Faye off. She managed to pull her arm out from his hand before throwing him towards the wall. He slammed against it with a groan.
"Don't underestimate me, Damon. I'm not the weak little girl you think I am." Faye growled.
"What is going on in here?"
Faye turned to see Elijah in the doorway. He heard them yelling through his super hearing and he knew Faye was getting angry. He didn't want her to end up killing Damon because he knew it would break her.
"We're all good, Elijah." Faye replied curtly.
Damon stood up and shook his head, "No were not good." He looked up at Elijah, "I was hoping we could have a word."
"Where's Elena?" Elijah asked him.
"Safe with Stefan." Faye told Elijah.
"They're laying low, you know, bit of a werewolf problem." Damon said.
Elijah nodded, "Oh, yeah, I heard about that."
"I'm sure you did since it was your witch that saved the day."
"You are welcome."
Faye almost rolled her eyes at Elijah's smugness, but she avoided it, knowing that this conversation was based entirely off business.
Damon sat down on the edge of the desk and narrowed his eyes at Elijah, "Which adds to my confusion on exactly why you're here."
"Why don't you just stay focused on keeping Elena safe and leave the rest to me." Elijah began walking away and Faye went to follow, but Damon used his vampire speed to move in front of Elijah, stopping him.
"Not good enough." Damon said.
Elijah grabbed him by his throat and sped him into the wall. Damon, in retaliation, reached up and gripped Elijah's throat. Elijah easily removed his hand, making sure to break it as he did. Faye finally stepped up after watching the whole thing.
"Okay, Elijah-"
"You young vampires, so arrogant." Elijah said, ignoring Faye. He dropped Damon's hand, "How dare you challenge me?"
"You can't kill me, man. It's not part of the deal." Damon said to him.
"Elijah!" Faye yelled out, trying to get him to let go of Damon.
"Silence."
Elijah reached over a grabbed a stray pencil lying on the desk. He drove it in to Damon's throat, causing him to groan out in pain. Faye gasped, rushing over to help Damon as he collapsed to the ground. She ripped the pencil out of his throat and held her hand over the wound.
"I'm an Original. Show a little respect." Elijah said as he wiped his hands with a handkerchief. He hand the cloth to Faye who pressed it against Damon's wound, "The moment you cease to be of use to me, you're dead, so you should do what I say. Keep Elena safe."
Faye got up for a moment to face Elijah, completely pissed off at him, "Don't ever threaten him again." She walked back over to Damon, still glaring at her god father as she helped him get out of the mansion.
__
"Today was a bust." Damon said to Faye and Alaric as they sat in the library of the Salvatore boarding house. He turned his gaze towards Faye, "Don't think I'm still not pissed at you."
Faye rolled her eyes, "Whatever." She looked at where Elijah had once stabbed him, "How's the throat?"
"Sore."
Alaric chuckled, "Yeah. That Elijah's one scary dude, but with nice hair." He got up with his empty glass of bourbon and looked at Damon, "Hey. You want another one?" Damon handed him his glass which Alaric took as he walked over to the bar.
"He's gonna be hard to kill." Damon said, causing Faye to look up at him.
"What?" Faye asked him.
They both ignored her and continued on with the conversation, "Yeah. I'd think twice before I'd trust that dagger and some ashes to do the job." Alaric said, pouring more bourbon in to the glasses, "You're gonna need more info."
"What dagger?" Faye tried to get them to talk about what was going on.
"Faye, I'll talk to you later about it." Damon said quickly, brushing off the subject, "I'm out of sources." He then told Alaric.
Faye sighed, leaning back, "What's up with you and this news chick?"
"Ooh." Damon smirked as he took his glass back from Alaric, "She's got spunk, huh?"
Alaric sat back down on the couch and looked at Damon significantly, "Just don't kill her, please."
Damon shrugged, "If I did, who would report her death?"
"Just don't do it, all right? She's friends with Jenna, and it's bad enough that I'm lying to her about everything else. I hate the lies." Alaric pulled out his phone to check the time, his eyes widening, "Oh, God. I got to go. I got to pick Jenna up." He stood up, "Don't worry. I'll, uh, show myself out."
"Good luck." Damon said as Alaric began walking out of the library.
Faye turned to Damon once he was gone, "What do you mean kill Elijah?"
"John gave me a dagger that could kill him." Damon said, "I'm debating on using it."
"Please don't." Damon ignored her so she got up and slapped him, "Damon!"
He groaned, "What?"
"Please don't kill him." Faye pleaded, "He's one of the two connections I have with my parents and despite how pissed I am at him right now, I don't want him dead."
Damon decided to just ease her mind and lie, "Fine. I won't."
Faye smiled until she heard a loud crash in the hall. She and Damon both frowned, going to check it out. In the hall, Alaric had a knife in his chest, causing Faye to whimper. He looked at them both as he fell the ground, dead.
"Damon..." Faye said softly, "Someone's here."
Suddenly, two werewolves fell from the ceiling and pounced on them. Faye immediately went to fight, turning around and driving her fist in to his face. The werewolf caught her hand and broke it. She yelped out and he saw the chance to drive the syringe of vervaine in to her throat. Faye grew weaker by the second, but still tried to fight him. It didn't take long for her to fall on the ground, Damon following a few seconds later.
"Whew! Damn, you're strong. It took the whole syringe." One of the wolves said to the pair on the ground. Faye shifted uncomfortably as more wolves came in and the first one gave orders, "Grab that one. He's dead."
Jules entered the house with a shotgun over her shoulders and smirked down at Faye and Damon, "Hi, Faye, Damon. Nice to see you again." She then knocked them both out with the butt of the gun.
__
Faye woke up slowly, feeling needles in her throat. She groaned and tried to reach up to remove it, but her hands were tied down. She looked around the room, spotting Alaric's dead body. Faye checked for the ring and saw it, causing her to sigh in relief.
Faye then looked straight forward seeing Damon across the room, waking up as well and the wolf who attacked her with chains that was connected to what was around their throats.
"Morning, sunshines." The werewolf said, "I saw this movie once, some torture porn flick. Anyway, they had this collar device that was really cool, so I just modified it some with some wooden nails, and when I pull..."
He pulled the chains and the wooden nails drove in to Faye's flesh. She whimpered, biting her lip so she wouldn't scream.
"Who the hell are you?" Faye asked the werewolf.
"Name's Stevie." He replied, "And who might you be gorgeous?"
Jules walked up from the corner of the room and glared at him, "Stevie. Leave it." She then looked at the pair bound to the chairs, "So I hear you have the moonstone."
Damon laughed, " Oh, if you only knew the irony of this moment right now. Let me tell you how this is gonna go. You're gonna torture me, I don't talk, someone loses a heart. Last time, it was your boy Mason."
Stevie wrapped the chains further around his hands as Jules inched towards Damon, "This time, it'll be both of you." She looked at Stevie and nodded. He smirked before pulling the chains, causing both Damon and Faye to groan as they were impaled once again.
"Sick bastards." Faye growled, "Could you guys just get off on something else beside torturing me? Second time in two days?"
Stevie smirked at her, "But it's so much fun."
"Bit my ass."
"Oh, I'd love to."
"Shut up." Jules snapped at him. She leaned against her shotgun and looked at Damon, "You know what the great thing about buckshot is? It scatters through the body, maximum damage." She pointed the gun at him, "Where's the moonstone?"
"Get over it, honey. You're never gonna get it." Damon said.
Jules scowled, "Well, then maybe she knows." She pointed the gun at Faye, "How about you, kid? Where's the moonstone?" Faye didn't speak as she stared at the gun, "Scared?"
"I should be scared?" Faye asked softly. She began laughing, "Oh no no no. You should." She settled in the chair with a smirk on her face, her claws slowly extending from her fingertips, "Do you know what I am Jules?"
"A vampire."
"You're right, but you're missing half the answer." Faye leaned forward as much as she could, "See. I'm much stronger than a vampire. I'm faster, stronger, have better control over my thirst. I got those from my vampire father. Then, I also have the ability to walk in the sun with a daylight ring, grow claws, I've got a horrible temper, and the best.... I can turn without a full moon." Faye suddenly broke free of her restraints, her hybrid face flashing as she sped behind another werewolf, flashing Jules her golden eyes, "I got those from my werewolf mother." She grabbed the werewolf by the throat, watching as Damon smirked proudly at her.
Jules and the other wolves backed away from her, "What the hell are you?"
"I like to call myself a hybrid." Faye said, "And about that moonstone..."
As if on cue, Elijah showed up and held up the moonstone, "You looking for this?" He twirled it in his fingers, showing the wolves. He placed it on the end table, "Go ahead. Take it." He gave Faye a look, saying to let go of the werewolf she had and she did. The one she held went straight toward the moonstone but she blurred in front of him.
"Uh uh." She shook her head, her fangs extracting, "No moonstone for you." She drove her hand in to the werewolf's chest and ripped out his heart, throwing it to the side as he collapsed to the ground.
Three other wolves rushed at her and Elijah. Faye took one and plunged her fangs into his throat, ripping his jugular vein out. He died instantly as the other two Elijah had fell to the ground without hearts.
Faye walked over to where Stevie was crouched down, hoping he wouldn't be seen, "Oh I didn't forget about you, sweetheart." She grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and pulled him to his feet, "You want to take a shot? Yes? No? Yes?"
"Where's the girl?" Elijah asked.
Damon looked around and didn't see Jules, "I don't know."
Faye sighed, "Doesn't matter." She quickly snapped Stevie's neck, letting him fall to the ground, dead.
Elijah walked over and unsnapped all of Damon's restraints, "So you realize this is the third time I've helped save your life now?" He then looked at Faye, "Stay safe." He then blurred away, leaving Damon and Faye to clean up the mess.
Damon walked over to Faye and pulled her into an unexpecting hug, which she melted into, "I'm so proud of you." He pulled away and patted her cheek, "But don't do it again. It was dangerous."
"So you're not mad at me anymore?" She asked him.
Damon shook his head, "After what you just did, nope." He then looked at the dead bodies, "We got to clean this up. Come on."
__
"So he planned to kill her all along." Damon said to Bonnie over the phone as he tried to straighten the room back out. Faye walked in from burying the dead bodies, throwing the shovel aside. She walked into the parlor, hearing Bonnie speak.
"Yeah. The sacrifice is part of Elijah's plan."
Faye stopped. She didn't know this at all. The whole point of the deal with Elijah was to keep Elena safe and for Klaus to die. Elijah lied to her. Her own god father lied straight to her face when she had asked if Elena was going to make it out without a scratch.
"Got it loud and clear." Damon hung up and looked at Faye, "What's wrong?"
"The dagger is the best shot we have. Whether you trust it or not, it's the only thing we got." Faye said quickly.
"What are you talking about?" Damon asked, confused.
Faye looked up at him, "For Elijah. If Elena isn't going to come out of this alive, we eliminate that possibility. I may not like Elena, but you both love her, so she's not dying. Meaning..."
"We need to kill Elijah." Damon finished for her, "But, wait. I thought you didn't want that."
"He lied. He may be my god father and all, but he broke my trust the second that I learned he did." She replied, "It's between Elena, someone who's been trying to help me adjust ever since I shifted back, or Elijah, a man who I've known for a couple of days and is already a liar." Faye had a solemn expression, "Elijah must be put down."
Damon nodded, understanding. Alaric gasped for air and shot up. Damon looked at him, "Finally. You missed all the fun."
"I'm going to shower and scrub all the blood of me." Faye said before walking up the stairs. When she was done, she fell asleep on her own bed, passing out from complete exhaustion.

A/N: I admit, this chapter is not one of my best, but I had to update it. Faye is betraying Elijah for Stefan and Damon. How do you feel about that?
Next Chapter; Dinner party, the dagger, and Faye's betrayal.
