THIRTY THREE ▶ PITY PARTY

Knocks on her door awoke the strawberry blonde hybrid buried in her comforter with tear stains on her pillow. Faye jolted up, the blood bags she had scattered on her bed flying onto the floor. She rubbed her eyes and attempted to blink away her blurry vision. Her vision cleared up and she turned her head towards the door to her room, trying to figure out who was behind it.

"Amnesia!" The nickname gave it all away, "Wakey, wakey! I brought breakfast."

"Come in." Faye called out, not want to move at all. Damon opened the door to her room and stepped inside holding a take out bag from the girl. The raven haired vampire did a once over and faye and scrunched up his nose in disgust.

"Lockwood really did a number on you, didn't he?" Damon asked her. Faye flicked him off, not feeling any energy to flash her fangs at him like she usually would. The eldest Salvatore walked over to her bed and forced her to scoot over so he could lay down with her, "Do not worry. Big brother Damon is here with the best break-up remedy there is."

"He left town, not me." Faye said dryly, taking the bag of breakfast from Damon when he offered it. The smell of waffles overwhelmed her and she pulled everything out before digging right in.

"Well, either way, I'm going to do my best to make sure you get your mind of things." Damon told the strawberry blonde, "We're getting that coffin open today and hopefully, kill Klaus."

Faye's eyes widened, "Really?"

"Yep, witchy one and two are working on the coffin while you and I are going to go meet a new asset in the game." Damon informed her.

"Ugh, no." Faye groaned, "Can I stay here? I'm going through my first heartbreak."

"Wait until you see who the asset is, Little Red. It will cure that heartbreak in a second." Damon smirked. Faye narrowed her eyes, wondering what he was up to, "And you'll just have to wait and see."

Faye let out another groan and Damon just chuckled and plucked a piece of the blueberry waffle from the styrofoam box in her lap. Faye snarled at him, only causing the vampire to laugh even harder.

"Look, you're feeling better already. It's because of me isn't it?" Damon said cockily.

Faye scoffed and slightly pushed his shoulder, earning a shocked gasp from the Salvatore. He pushed Faye right back, only for her to throw the last piece of her waffle at him. Damon then pushed her off the bed, causing her to land on her carpet floor with a loud groan escaping her lips. Faye reached up and grabbed his arm, tugging him down right with her. When he landed right beside her, the two erupted into giggles.

"I missed this." Faye smiled over at the man she called her brother, "It feels like everything is back to the way it before we even knew what Klaus looked like."

"And when you weren't such a broody mess." Damon added, only to get his stomach slammed in by Faye's fist, "What is up with you being abusive today? Are you lashing out? Do we need to call your school's guidance counselor?"

She rolled her eyes and pushed herself up from the ground, "You're an idiot." She brushed off her pajamas and began walking towards the bathroom, "Clean up my room while I get ready will ya'?"

Before Damon could protest, she was already in her bathroom with the door shut. The vampire let out a loud sigh and got work.

__

Trudging through the woods in boots that costed for than a trip to the hospital was not something she had expected to cure her heartbreak. Damon hadn't told her to dress for it, so she was stuck with it. As she huffed about getting her shoes dirty, knowing Lacey was going to bitch about them, Damon spoke on the phone to Elena who may be a murderer.

Over the past few days, dead bodies were showing up killed like they had been vampires. Faye had been briefed when she recovered from the hybrid bite she had gotten. She was surprised actual something fairly human was going on in this town.

"So you're the prime suspect, huh?" Damon asked, a smirk playing on his lips.

"She doesn't think that I did it." Elena answered him and Faye could practically hear the eyeroll Elena had performed, "She's just trying to find out why somebody used one of my family weapons to kill a council member."

"Well why don't you just ask Ric if his dirty little doctor had access to the weapons."

"You're on speakerphone, dick!" Alaric shouted over the phone.

Faye shrugged, "He's kind of right Ric." She said into Damon's phone which was on speaker, "First suspect's usually the right one."

"Brian Walters was killed days ago, alright? I didn't show Meredith this stuff until last night!" Alarice defended the woman.

"It wasn't Meredith." Elena quickly added.

"But Brian Walters was her ex-boyfriend and Ric saw them fighting that night." Damon countered, his eyebrow raised in questioning. He grabbed Faye when she nearly tripped over a log that sat in their path.

"It's not Meredith!" Elena shouted, surprising Faye and Damon both, "Okay? I refuse to believe that your luck with women is that tragic." She directed towards Alaric.

"Who else knows about your secret little slayer stash?" damon questioned Alaric.

"Who doesn't?" The history teacher answered, "Got weapons everywhere, here, the school, my loft, your car."

"It's Klaus. It has to be, he's screwing with us." Faye jumped to conclusions. It was the only possible explanation that made sense to her.

"What if it was Stefan?" The doppelganger on the other line suggested, "He was crazy that night. And you know he was trying to get underneath Klaus's skin, he was capable of pretty much anything."

"Ahh, make's me nostalgic for the time when Stefan was a bunny snacking pacifist, anyway got to go, you'll know more later." Damon said to the two on the phone with him as him and Faye came upon a meadow that was quiet and empty. Faye looked around with a frown, wondering why they were there. Damon had still revealed nothing to her despite how long they had been walking.

"Hey, where are you two?" Alaric questioned.

"Tea with an old friend." With that, Damon hung up on the man, smirking widely. He glanced down at Faye, causing her to raise an eyebrow at him.

"Tea with an old-?" She couldn't even finish her question before the wind suddenly sped up and something blurred into the meadow. Faye felt suddenly threatened due to the fact the only people with those types of powers had been vampires and hybrids. She flashed her hybrid features and whipped her head towards the intruder, but her fangs retracted when she saw who it was.

The first thing she realized as she looked at him was that he cut his hair. It was an odd observation to take in after seeing that the man that was once lying in a coffin in the basement of the witch house was now standing before her once again. She was completely surprised and ecstatic all together.

Faye rushed forward with her vampire speed and swung her arms around Elijah Mikaelson. The Original did the same, holding his god-daughter close to him. He pressed a simple kiss to the strawberry blonde's temple. They had both missed each other.

When they pulled apart from each other, Faye gave him a small smile and kept to his side as Damon spoke to the Original, "Elijah. My favorite Original, back from the dead." He gave Elijah a once over, "Clean up nice."

"You left something in my jacket pocket." Elijah said to him, the slip up of happiness he showed as he hugged Faye now gone. He pulled out a folded up note in the inside pocket of his suit jacket and showed it to Damon.

"Oh, yeah." Damon responded, taking a step forward, ""Dear Elijah, let's get together, plot the destruction of your brother, XOXO"." Faye rolled her eyes at his words.

"Damon."

Damon let out a soft sigh, "Was I right to undagger you or are we gonna have a problem?" He asked.

"I'm here, let's talk."

"I'll start with an easy question." The eldest Salvatore began, "Any idea what kind of Klaus-killing weapon could be magically sealed in a mystery coffin?"

__

The talk with Elijah did go well, but not as well as they hoped it would. They learned that he knew nothing of what was locked inside the coffin, but was going to help stall Klaus until the Bennetts could open it. Damon was the lovely one who suggested to host a dinner party. He seemed to have a thing for those so Faye just rolled her eyes and agreed to it. It was going to be considered a meeting to discuss negotiations between Klaus and Stefan, but it was much deeper than that.

Faye sat in her room, reading Pride and Prejudice for her English class.  It something to do while waiting for Damon to come pick her up. She decided not get dressed up for the occasion and kept on the floral patterned sweater and the maroon skirt she was already wearing on.

A knock sounded against her doorframe and Faye looked up from her book in it's direction. Lacey stood there with a shy smile on her face.

"Hey." The blonde said to her niece.

"Hey, what's up?" Faye asked, shutting her book and tossing it aside. She was glad someone interrupted.

"I just wanted to ask you how you were holding up." Lacey told her. Faye sighed, knowing she was asking about Tyler. Her aunt had left her alone last night when she requested it, but it was time for her to now question it all.

"I'm okay." Faye answered honestly.

"Are you sure?" The blonde Daniels stepped further into the room. She looked at her niece worriedly, "I know you really liked him, Faye. Maybe even loved him." Faye was thankful the woman did not say his name.

"He's just going to be gone for awhile though. He'll come back." Faye respond to her aunt's statement. The woman sighed heavily and moved to sit next to the strawberry blonde on the bed.

"Faye, you don't know that." Faye glanced up at her, frowning deeply. Lacey brushed her own hair back out of her face and huffed, "Listen, sweetheart, I went through the same thing you did. I fell in love once."

"You did? With who?" Faye questioned. Lacey did not answer her questions, but just smiled fondly.

"He was around the time you were born. You loved him." Lacey revealed to her, not giving much detail, "But we fell in love, kind of like you and Tyler, and then we parted because of what happened to you. I thought that maybe it wasn't the end of us there, but it was."

"Maybe Tyler's not like that." Faye suggested with a small shrug.

Lacey gave the girl a small nervous smile and laid a hand on her shoulder, "I wouldn't get your hopes though. It may be easier to accept it now then for you to be more heartbroken when the time comes."

Faye's face dropped slightly. Lacey wrapped her arm around the girl in attempt to comfort her.

"He's gonna' come home." Faye told the older Daniels, "Klaus will be dead by tonight and he'll be able to come home."

"That's what all the secret coming and going have been about?" Lacey eyes moved to stare down at her niece.

Faye nodded, "You're not going to tell Klaus right?"

"He hurt you more than once." Lacey answered, "I'm not going to let him walk free because of it. I love you too much to let that happen."

Faye smiled up at her and then wrapped the woman in a large hug. She snuggled into her arms and Lacey pulled her closer as she did so. She was grateful for the moments she got to spend with her small amount of family.

__

Damon had picked her up at the Daniels home with Stefan sitting in the passenger seat of the camaro. Faye took a spot in the backseat. They said nothing to each other and drove up towards the address Elijah had given them earlier that day.

Faye stepped out of the backseat of the car and looked up towards the large mansion they had parked in front of. She scoffed at the sight when her heels clicked against the gravel driveway.

"Definitely Klaus' place." Faye said, crossing her arms over her chest, "Huge like his ego and full of empty space like his brain."

"Get all the insults out now, Amnesia. We're trying to have a good civil dinner." Damon told the hybrid as he and Stefan both stepped up beside her.

"Oh, we don't have enough time for that." Stefan said, looking down at Faye who seemed to be ready to burst. She did not want to see Klaus' face. He was the reason her boyfriend was gone, her best friend was emotionless, and her whole life was falling apart.

"Let's just get this over with." The petite hybrid muttered. She began walking up towards the home, her head held high and prepared for anything. Damon and Stefan followed her and the three of them finally came to a stop on the doorstep. Elijah heard them and let them in the moment they arrived there. He led them into a small dining room.

"Niklaus, our guests have arrived." Elijah informed Klaus who stood in front of a table set up for the group of five. Food was already set up and the older hybrid seemed to have compelled two women to serve them the whole time. Klaus smirked at the three members of the Daniels pack, his eyes lingering on the alpha female who kept a cold hard gaze on him.

"Damon. Stefan. Faye." Klaus seemed to draw out the girl's name more than the others, "Elijah tells me, you seek an audience. Very bold. Let's discuss the terms of our agreement like civilized men and women, shall we?"

"It's better to indulge him." Elijah suggested. Faye nodded, knowing he was probably right.

Stefan, ever so the rebel, stepped forward, "I didn't come here to eat, Klaus. Fact, I didn't want to come here at all. But I was told I had to cause you would hear us out."

"Well, we can sit and eat or I can reach down your throats and pull out your insides." Klaus told them. None of them were phased by the threat, "The choice is yours."

Elijah was the first one to step forward and take a seat. Faye followed since the two Salvatore boys were being stubborn and took the spot next to him. Stefan took the spot next to her and Damon took the one next to his brother. Klaus looked the last empty spot which was straight across from Faye. She hadn't realized her mistake, but at least he wasn't sitting next to her.

The two waitresses served them and poured them all fresh wine. Faye took it though she didn't really like to drink. She was going to need it. They all began eating and Faye slowly ate her food.

"Thank you, love." Damon told the waitress with a prize winning smirk.

"You lost your appetite." Klaus pointed out to Stefan, who hadn't touched his food.

Damon glanced over at his brother, "Eat." He ordered, "I thought we agreed that we would leave the grumpy Stefan at home." Stefan hesitated, so it took a kick in the shin from Faye to get him to do as he was told.

"That's the spirit." Klaus beamed, "Isn't it nice? Five of us dining together? Such a treat." He said sarcastically, "Is this what you had in mind when you pulled the dagger from my brother?"

"Well, I know how he felt about you, so I figured the more, the merrier." Damon winked at Elijah playfully before pointing his fork towards Faye, "Also, it earned some brownie points with Amnesia over here with the whole godfather thing and all."

"Well, Elijah and I have had our share of quarrels over the century." Klaus responded to his first statement, "But we always make it through."

"Kind of like you and Rebekah, right?" Stefan questioned, "Where is she, by the way? Last I checked she was still daggered because you were afraid to face her."

Klaus' jaw tightened at the mention of his sister, "If you're referring to the fact that Rebekah knows I killed our mother, I've already come clean to Elijah."

"Hey, Stef, remember when you killed dad?" Damon raised his eyebrow at his brother, "Might want to dial down the judgment until dessert."

"We're here to make a deal, Damon. Doesn't mean we need to kiss his ass for seven courses." Stefan replied.

"I'm just saying we have a long evening ahead of us. Pace yourself."

Faye mentally groaned at those words and grabbed the glass of wine. She tried to drown it down, but was stopped by Elijah who repeated Damon's words, "pace yourself". The hybrid let out a loud sigh and set it back down.

"I'll give you five bucks if you snap my neck right now and let me sleep until the dinner's over." Faye whispered to Stefan during the long awkward silence, still knowing that the rest of the vampires at the table could hear her. She gained an amused snort from Klaus and a soft chuckle from both Damon and Elijah.

"No."

"Ten."

"No."

"Twenty."

"If I have to stick through this, so do you." Stefan responded, causing her to huff and puff and sink down into her seat.

"Stefan." Elijah decided to start a conversation, "Where is the lovely Elena tonight?"

"I don't know. Ask Damon." Stefan snapped bitterly.

Klaus let out a loud laugh, drawing the attention towards him. Faye narrowed her eyes at him while Elijah gave him a questioning glance.

"I'm sorry, you've missed so much." Klaus told Elijah, "Ah, trouble in paradise."

"One more word about Elena and this dinner's over." Stefan threatened.

"You know what, probably best just to keep Elena in the do-not-discuss pile." Faye suggested, giving a pointed look towards Klaus. He pressed a finger to his lips, shushing himself. Faye rolled her eyes and turned her gaze away from him.

"You're probably right." Klaus responded to Faye.

"Of course I am."

"It's just the allure of the Petrova doppelgänger, still so strong." Klaus continued on. He looked over towards Elijah, "What do you say, brother? Should we tell them about Tatia?" Faye glanced back up at him, her brows furrowed together in confusion.

Elijah hesitated, "Now why should we discuss matters long since resolved?"

"Well, given the Salvatores' shared affection for both Elena and Katerina, I think our guests might be curious to learn about the originator of the Petrova line." Klaus gestured towards the pair of brothers sitting beside the strawberry blonde hybrid.

"Well, we're not going anywhere Elijah. Please, do tell." Damon said before taking a sip of wine.

The eldest Original at the table took in a deep breath before beginning, "When our family first settled here, there was a girl named Tatia. She was an exquisite beauty. Every boy of age desired to be her suitor, even though she'd had a child by another man. And none loved her more than Niklaus."

"I'd say there was one who loved her at least as much."

Faye's eyebrows rose at Klaus' words, "Wait a minute. So you both loved the same girl?" She asked Elijah.

Elijah nodded, answering her question and continued, "Our mother was a very powerful witch. She sought to end our feud over Tatia and so she took her." Sadness filled his eyes, "Klaus and I would later learn that it was Tatia's blood that we consumed in the wine on the night where our mother performed the spell which turned us into vampires. Tatia wouldn't make a decision between the two of us, so for a time Niklaus and I grew estranged." His eyes darted towards Klaus, "Harsh words were traded, we even came to blows, didn't we, brother?"

"But in the end we realized the sacred bond of family." Klaus smiled.

"Family above all." The two Mikaelsons raised their glasses and Klaus repeated Elijah's words. Their glasses clinked together.

"Sounds like you Faye." Damon pointed out to her, "It's always pack above all with you, no matter what." Faye gave him a small smile in which he returned.

"It's a very important duty to have." Klaus noted.

"Yeah. Especially with psychopaths like you running around." Faye said, giving him a grim smile and returning to eat her food.

__

They all finished up eating after about another twenty minutes of chatting. As they finished, Faye received a text from Bonnie stating she needed a bit more time. She showed the text to Damon who subtly nodded.

"So, why don't we move this evening along and discuss the terms of this proposal?" Elijah put forward.

"That's very simple." Damon began, "Klaus gets his coffin back, in exchange, he and the Original extended family leave Mystic Falls forever. The only restriction on that is Faye will kill me if I don't give you the option to visit. Me, Stefan, Faye and Elena live happily ever after. No grudges."

"The deal sounds fair, brother." Elijah said to Klaus.

"I don't think you understand." Klaus stood up from his seat, "Elena's doppelgänger blood insures that I will always have more hybrids to fight those that oppose me. I will never leave her behind."

"Get over your hybrids. You're an original for god's sake. Protect yourself." Faye told him, standing up herself. Klaus glowered at her and began pacing the room.

"Let's say I do leave her here, under your protection, what then?" Klaus questioned Damon, Faye, and Stefan, "How long before one of you turns her into a vampire? Or worse, how long before she dies caught between your feuding?" He now spoke to the Salvatores, "You see, each one of you truly believes that you're the one that can protect her, and that is simply a delusion. Gentlemen, the worst thing for Elena Gilbert is...the two of you."

Damon gave a weak smile before looking over towards Faye and Stefan, "I'm gonna get some air." He got up and left. Faye went to follow him, knowing he was up to something, but Elijah stopped her.

"Let me deal with this." Elijah told her. He went after Damon while she stayed behind with Klaus and Stefan.

"All this talk has made me thirsty." Klaus said once they were gone. He waved his hand and one of the waitresses he had compelled walked over to stand in front of him. He brushed her hair off the side of her throat, "What do you say Stefan, Faye? Can I interest you in a little after-dinner drink?"

The two did not take the offer so Klaus just dove in anyways, his fangs lodging into her pale skin. He drank until she was dry and her heartbeat slowed to a stop. Faye clenched her eyes shut as her body hit the floor, the sound causing painful memories to slip up.

"Delicious. Aged to perfection." Klaus said, reaching up to wipe the blood dripping the blood hanging from the corner of his lips away.

"Well, I guess the only reason you agreed to this evening, Klaus, is to drive a wedge between me and my brother." Stefan acknowledged.

Klaus chled and shook his head, "Oh no, you're doing that well enough on your own. Because of Elena, you're gonna lose your brother and you'll only have yourself to blame."

"Not if I have anything to do with it." Faye butted in, standing tall. Klaus smacked his lips together at her, prepared to reply, but Damon and Elijah stepped back into the room.

"What do you say, Klaus?" Damon questioned, clapping his hands together, "It's time for you to put something on the table. We've made our offer, now you counter."

"Okay." Klaus gave a tight smile and began, "I offer Elena's future happiness. You see, what she needs right now is to be rid of you lot. And to fall in love with a human, maybe that nice football player, you know the blond one?"

Damon quirked an eyebrow, "Matt Donovan? Really?"

"Yeah, why not?" Klaus asked.

"Because that's not what Elena wants?" Faye threw up her hands when no one listened to what she had to say.

"They'll marry, live a long and fruitful life, and pop out a perfect family." Klaus beamed at his own words.

"And continue the Petrova bloodline." Stefan clicked his tongue in annoyance, "Every few hundred years, you'll have a new doppelgänger to drain and never run out of hybrids, right Klaus?"

"Consider it a small return on my investment in her well-being." Klaus answered, "See, after you hand me back the coffin, I'll ensure her safety for the rest of her natural life. You know it's what's best for her." He stepped forward towards where Stefan and Faye stood, "So, what do you say Stefan, hmm? Do we have a deal?"

Stefan took his hand, calming Faye's worries that he wasn't going to. Making the deal would be a nice distraction for everything else going on.

"Nice try, Klaus." Stefan said, "But no deal."

Faye jumped when Klaus suddenly clenched his hand tightly around Stefan's and his bones cracked. Stefan let out a pained cry. Before Faye could do anything, Klaus then kicked his leg in and rushed him over to the fireplace, burning Stefan. Faye went to rush over along with Damon, but Elijah grabbed them both and shoved them against the wall.

"What are you doing?" Damon asked Elijah angrily.

"Stop!" Faye shouted at Klaus, he fangs coming out, "You're hurting him you bastard!"

"That's the point, love." The Original hybrid responded, "Now, bring me my coffin before I burn him alive."

"I'll get it." The eldest Salvatore said. Elijah let him go, but kept a hold on Faye due to the fact her eyes still glowed a bright amber.

"Go with him, brother." Klaus ordered Elijah, "You keep him honest. And when you return, I will make good on my promise to you and I will hand over our family."

Elijah nodded, letting Faye go finally. She moved to attack Klaus, but Elijah stopped her once again.

"Leave it." He told her sternly.

Faye glanced up at him, her fangs retracting and her eyes returning to normal. Elijah released her arm he hand a hold of before leaving with Damon. Faye stood on the sidelines as Klaus kept Stefan's hand in above the fire.

"Go ahead and kill me." Stefan said to the older hybrid, "I know you'll do it when he brings the coffin."

Klaus pulled Stefan out of the fireplace at his words and looked disappointed, "You really have given up, haven't you? Where's the fight? Where's the ripper?" He pushed Stefan harshly and when Stefan went to fight back, Faye sped in front of him and flashed her hybrid features at Klaus.

"If you want a fight, I'll give you one." She hissed at the man. Klaus smirked at the girl, but they were both interrupted by Elijah and Damon returning to the room. Faye turned back into her human form and glance over at them. One of the waitresses appeared beside the two men who had entered holding a tray with metal cover over it.

"Elijah..." Klaus frowned at his brother, "Why haven't you left?"

Elijah had a smug expression stretched across his face, "Where are you manners, brother? We forgot dessert." He tugged the cover off the tray, revealing two white-oak daggers. Klaus backed up in shock.

"What have you done?" Klaus asked his brother.

"What have you done?" Elijah corrected him, "You see, I've learned not to trust your vulgar promises, Klaus. We're doing this on my terms now."

A man dressed in nineteenth century clothing sped into the room with a smug smile gracing his face. Klaus gaped at him.

"Kol."

"Long time, brother." The man, Kol, replied.

Klaus attempted to escaped, but a man with longer hair showed up next to the waitress and grabbed one of the daggers, "Finn, don't!" He shouted, only for Finn to drive the dagger straight through his hand. He rushed away once again, only to run into Rebekah, "Rebekah!"

"This is for our mother." Rebekah hissed and drove a dagger into his chest. Klaus fell back into Kol's arms, who then restrained him so he couldn't run.

Elijah glanced over at the three watching the whole show go down. The ends of Faye's mouths were slowly twisting into a smirk as she watched Klaus get what she thought he deserved. It was sadistic, but she didn't care.

"You're free to go. This is family business." Elijah told them. Damon and Stefan both nodded and turned to leave. Klaus looked over at Faye helplessly, pleading for her to do something. She just grinned widely and wiggled her fingers at him as a goodbye. The hybrid then turned around and walked out the door, feeling a lot better than she had that morning.
