TEN ▶ GOODNIGHT ROSE
Faye smiled when she saw Stefan out of the tomb for the first time since his release. It softened the blow she had received the night before, hearing Elijah's story of her family. The whole thing was something she was trying to put in the back of her head and seeing Stefan helped.
"I am so glad you're out of the tomb," Faye said as she hugged him tight. "Damon was so boring."
Stefan laughed. "And I'm better?"
"Broody vampire for the win, okay. Damon just sits there and drones on and on about what happened on the latest episode of Dexter," she told him. "I don't even understand that show."
"Well, now that I'm back, you don't have to hear it anymore," he said with a grin. "Elena told me to get me out she had to make a deal that Elijah could speak with you. What the hell did he want?"
Faye shook her head, telling him she wasn't going to answer. She knew Stefan would understand, but he would be quick to try to make sure she was still on his side in the whole protecting Elena situation. "I am not ready to talk about that. What he said kind of messed me up."
"Messed you up? Is it bad?"
"No," Faye assured him. "It's just something I really gotta' figure out on my own."
Stefan raised a brow at her. "Are we keeping secrets from each other now? I didn't think that's what pack mates did."
For a moment, Faye thought he was upset by the fact she wasn't ready to speak about what happened, but his teasing tone told her otherwise. She scoffed at him before punching him in the shoulder.
"Ow! You're stronger than me so that actually hurts."
She grinned wickedly. "It was meant to."
"Are you guys actually bickering like twelve-year-olds?" Elena's voice cut into the room. She walked in, causing both the vampire and hybrid's eyes to fall on her.
"Stefan's bullying me." Faye accused, only to be ignored by them both.
Stefan and Elena were to distracted to care. As always, they gravitated towards each other and met in a sweet kiss. Faye balked at the sight. Elena, in turn, rolled her eyes and continue to kiss her boyfriend in spite of her.
"Good morning," Elena hummed before Stefan responded the same. "I don't want us to be apart anymore. Ever," she then said.
"Me neither, but..."
"Don't ruin the moment." Elena silenced him with a kiss, trying to stop him from ruining her good mood. When Stefan did not respond, though, she frowned and pulled away from him. "You're about to ruin the moment, aren't you?"
Faye stepped in with a fake smile playing on her lips. "Then how about I do it. You both should really stop making out in front of me."
Elena huffed at the hybrid before backing away from Stefan. The Salvatore sighed at the movement and sat down on his bed. "Look, I can't just pretend like everything is okay."
"Katherine's locked away in the tomb," Elena told him as if it meant there was no danger in the world.
Faye gave her look, knowing she wasn't that stupid to forget the main problem at hand. "There's still that pressing little issue of you becoming a sacrificial lamb or did you forget?" She asked.
Elena sighed as she walked over to one of Stefan's draws and opened it. She took out a bottle of vervain that had been placed in there for safe keeping as she replied. "No, I didn't forget," she finally said to Faye. "But, Elijah promised to keep me and everyone else safe as long as we play by his rules."
"Right. As long as you play by his rules," Stefan commented. Anyone could tell he had a plan, seeing as how his face twisted up as he spoke.
Elena opened the vial and put the vervain in a glass. "Please don't go after Isobel." She gave him a pleading glance from where she stood.
"Wait. Isobel is your psycho, murderous, biological mother right?" Faye asked. "It all gets jumbled up when you tell me all these names and who they are."
"Yes, Faye," Stefan replied before looking up at Elena. "Katherine said Isobel could have some answers and I just have a couple questions, that's all."
"Stefan, I made a deal with Elijah," Elena told him as she poured water into the glass with vervain in it and then drank from it to check if was just right.
Faye walked over to Elena and crossed her arms over her chest. "Right, you made a deal with him." She put emphasis on the "you". "But Stefan didn't. Keep your deal and Stefan can do what he wants in his own time."
"I don't want anyone else to get hurt," Elena responded.
"When have I ever wanted somebody to get hurt?" Stefan asked.
Elena didn't answer. She walked back over to her boyfriend and held out the glass of vervain water to him to change the subject. "Vervain. I made it light but are you sure? Just because Katherine built up a tolerance..."
"Yes, bottoms up." Stefan hesitated to take a drink from the glass, but he knew he had to. He guzzled it down as quickly as he could, trying to avoid the pain he would feel. It was inevitable and he fell into a coughing fight.
"Are you okay?" Faye asked him with concern.
He nodded. "Yeah."
Elena was flabbergasted as she took the glass away from him. "How can Elijah compel another vampire?"
"He's an original. I don't really know what that means. I don't think anybody really knows what that means. Well, except maybe Isobel. Maybe we should ask her." Stefan glanced at Faye, hoping she would have some answers. "Did he say anything about how he could compel vampires when you talked to him?"
"No," she answered. "Nothing except things that make my life a whole lot harder." She had been trying to keep the news she had received out of her, but at Stefan's mention of her and Elijah's chat, it returned. She let out a sigh and decided she needed to take a breather. "I'm gonna skip school today, by the way."
"What? You hate missing school." Elena furrowed her brows at the girl.
Faye shrugged. "I just need a little break today," she defended her decision. The hybrid muttered a soft goodbye to Stefan and Elena before walking out of the room. The doppelganger followed her out, worried, and appeared next to her Faye had started making her way down the hall.
"Hey, are you okay?" The Gilbert girl questioned.
"Kind of." Faye let out a sigh. "Just after last night... Talking to Elijah kind of messed me up."
"Do you want to talk about it?" Elena asked her as they continued down the stairs. Faye didn't answer right away. She couldn't talk about it with Stefan because of his biased opinions, but Elena was different. She could understand what Faye was going through and give the strawberry blonde her thoughts without trying to convince her of something.
Faye opened her mouth to reply but could not say a word as they passed by the library. Rose and Damon were inside, inspecting the female vampire's shoulder which had an extremely infected bite on it. Faye bit her lip at the sight, trying to hold in her gasp.
"Maybe later, Elena." She whispered to the doppelganger as she stared down the pussing bite.
"How is it?" Rose asked Damon.
"Definitely better." The lie left Damon's mouth. He glanced towards the two girls standing behind them. "Right, Elena, Faye?" Rose turned to look at them in wonder.
Faye produced a nervous smile. "Um, it's not bad."
"Where's Stefan?" He questioned.
"We left him upstairs, but I think he's gonna leave," Elena informed him, not moving her eyes from Rose's shoulder. "I need you to talk to him. He's convinced that he has to find Isobel but I think that's gonna upset Elijah." Faye didn't think it was the best idea either, having heard about Isobel in the worst ways, but if Stefan thought it could help then she would let him try.
"No, can do," Damon said to Elena. "I'm with Stefan on this one but if you both could play nurse for a little while..."
Rose shook her head at his request. "It's not necessary."
"It is necessary." The eldest Salvatore put his foot down. "They're both do-gooders when it comes to people in need. It's in their nature, they just can't resist." He got up from the spot next to Rose and began making his way out of the library. Faye and Elena followed after him. taking their eyes off Rose.
"Damon." She got his attention quietly. "Is she going to die?"
The question struck Damon without a doubt. He tried to hide his pain, but he didn't do a good job of it. "Probably," he said with a bored tone to hide the fact he cared. "The wolf bite caused some kind of infection and it's getting worse."
"Like poison?" Elena inquired.
Damon shrugged. "I don't know, Elena. I'm not an expert in the field."
"I'm sorry." The doppelganger tried to console him, knowing he was hurting. He cared about Rose and not even he could deny it as much as he tried. Her condolences were brushed off, though.
"Death happens. We come, we go," Damon dismissed. "Sooner she dies the better. It's gloomy as hell in here." He didn't dare stay and speak any longer. He walked away from Faye and Elena, going to take care of the business he needed to.
Faye sighed sadly at the raven haired vampire before looking over to Elena. "Come on. We gotta' help Rose."
__
Faye and Elena moved Rose from the library to Damon's room, deciding it was better for her to be there. The hybrid held on tight to Rose as she guided her to the bed where she could lay down.
"I hate this," Rose complained. "I'm a vampire, I haven't had a cold in five centuries."
"Just get in bed," Faye told her with a sigh.
"We don't get sick. When we die, it's fast and sudden and it's certainly not drawn out in illness," Rose continued on.
At her words, Elena's eyes softened as she looked at Rose. "You're not gonna die," she lied.
"Such a human thing to say." Rose shook her head at Elena who was glancing around the room she was in. The vampire's eyes lit up with amusement. "You've never been in Damon's room before, have you?" She grinned as Elena picked up "Gone With the Wind" off Damon's bedside table. "Not what you expected?"
"It's just a room with a bed," Elena said. "Maybe I expected there to be silk sheets."
"I expected there to be a giant portrait of himself, but nope," Faye said, recalling the first time she had ever walked into Damon's room. She down on the edge of the bed with a grin matching Rose's.
All of them smiled this time at Faye's comment. As the subject of Damon's room died down, another came up as Rose stared at Elena with admiration. She gave the girl a tight-lipped smile. "You're lucky, you know," she said, causing Elena to furrow her brows together. "No one's ever loved me the way you're loved."
"I doubt that," Elena responded as she grabbed a blood bag they had brought up with them along with a glass. She began filling it up.
Rose shook her head. "Trevor was my best friend. Nothing more. I spent all those years on the run from Elijah. I just never thought it was a good idea to set up roots. The whole idea of family is not exactly compatible with being a vampire." She kept her eyes on Elena, a soft scoff escaping her. "Why are you so eager to give up?"
"I'm not giving up on anything." Elena handed her the glass of blood she had been filling up.
Rose rolled her eyes as she took a small sip. Elena took it back when she had finished and placed it on Damon's side table. "What do you call this whole deal with Elijah?" Rose asked.
"I call it my best option."
"It's your easiest option."
"That's not fair," Elena said, feeling hurt by the statement.
Rose only sighed before continuing on asking more and more questions about Elena's choices in who she trust. "Do you really think that your witch friend destroyed the moonstone?"
"I spoke with Bonnie. I know that she had the help of another witch; unless it's Elijah's witch, so no, I don't," Elena replied.
"You really are determined to die, aren't you?" No one responded to Rose. "At least I ran, you're not even trying," Rose muttered before shutting her eyes. "I'm so tired."
Faye spoke up for the first time in a while, having just sat there to take in their conversation. She reached over and stroked Rose's hair. "Get some sleep, Rose." Faye got up from the bed. Elena and she made the moved to leave, but Rose reached out to them.
"No, stop, wait," she said deliourously. "Tell them to prepare the horses."
Elena sighed as she looked at the vampire. "It's okay Rose. Just get some sleep. You'll feel better when you wake up."
"Trevor, don't be so stupid. You're never going to make it there before the sun," Rose mumbled. She surprised the two girls when she shot up quickly, gasping in pain. "Faye, Elena, I need more blood."
Faye rushed over to get the glass Elena had placed on the side table. "Yeah, of course, here." She handed it to the thirsty vampire.
Rose drank it all in one sitting. It wasn't the best idea to do so, seeing as afterward, she vomited all over Damon's sheets. The blood stained the pale cloth and caused Rose to cry out at the sight. It wasn't normal for a vampire to do so and only worried her more.
"It's okay, everything's gonna be alright." Faye tried to assure her. She ran her eyes over the mess before moving her gaze to Elena. "We need some towels."
Elena nodded. She moved to get them, but Faye moved faster to the bathroom with her enhanced speed. She opened the small closet in the bathroom and rummaged through it to grab the towels she needed.
There was a loud slam behind Faye, alerting her. She turned around quickly, dropping the towels in her hand the moment she saw Rose holding Elena against the wall. Her hand was wrapped tightly around the doppelganger's throat.
"It's all your fault, Katerina. You Katerina, you did this," Rose yelled at her.
"It's Elena. Rose, Rose!" Elena tried to snap her out of it. "I'm Elena!"
Faye did not hesitate to speed over to the two and tear Rose across the girl. She held the much taller vampire in a tight hold to make sure Elena could get away. She didn't want to hurt her, but if she had to, then she would. Rose struggled to get free from Faye's hold.
"You betrayed us!" Rose roared.
"She's not Katherine!" Faye shouted as she tried to keep her grip on her.
Rose finally shook out of her hallucination. She shook her head, trying to remember where she was. She finally glanced up the girl she had just attacked. "Elena?"
"It's me, it's Elena," Elena said, slowly walking over to Faye and her. Faye finally released Rose but did not take her eyes off her.
"Oh my god Elena. I'm so sorry. I don't know what's happening to me. I'm sorry." Rose rambled.
Faye stepped forwards and rubbed the woman's shoulder. "You're gonna be alright."
"My mind, I'm..."
"It was just for a second," Elena brushed off what had just happened.
Rose glanced at Elena with pleading eyes. "I'm sorry, don't be scared of me."
"I'm not. I'm not, but you need to rest," Elena told her.
Faye helped Rose back over to the bed so she could do exactly as Elena said. She helped her lay back down and get situated. Rose could barely keep her eyes open as she tried to look up at the two.
"I'm scared." Rose sounded as if she were a child; an innocent little child who had been broken. It made Faye purse her lips. A vampire afraid of death wasn't something you heard of every day.
"You're not alone. Elena and I are right here," Faye comforted her.
"Here, where's here?"
"Damon's bedroom, you're in Damon's bedroom." The doppelganger answered.
"I want to go home."
The two couldn't take her home, though. They didn't know where it was. All they could do was make her comfortable. "Tell us about it," Faye told her.
"St. Austell, 30 kilometers south of London. With fields and trees and horses." Rose said tiredly.
Elena gave a small smile before responding, "Sounds beautiful."
"When you live long enough, everything disappears. So much time wasted, I just wish I wouldn't have been so afraid."
She fell asleep, leaving the two to take in the words that she had just spoken.
__
Faye and Elena went down stairs when Rose was finally asleep. It was best if Rose didn't stay laying in blood coated bed and were trying to find clean sheets in the mess that was the Salvatore laundry room.
"Are you up for talking about what happened now?" Elena asked as she moved a basket of Faye's unwashed clothes over.
Faye nodded, knowing she could. She could trust Elena to be truthful and understanding. The girl and her may not have gotten off to the best start in the beginning, but in the time she had been around Elena, she decided she wasn't so bad.
"So, me and Elijah talked last night and he told me a lot of things that I really wasn't expecting." Faye started off saying.
"Like what?"
"You know how my dad was a vampire right?" Elena nodded, allowing Faye to continue. "Well, turns out, Elijah was one of the people who helped train him to be a better vampire and then Lacey. I guess they were best friends with him or whatever and they didn't leave his side until the early nineteen hundreds."
Elena's eyes widened, "Elijah knew your dad and your aunt?"
"He knew both my parents. He knew me." Faye breathed out. "My parents called him when my mom was pregnant and they were sure it was my dad's. Elijah helped them through everything and they named him my godfather."
"Elijah is your godfather? He's supposed to be your guardian?" Elena was shocked to hear it. "Where was he when your parents died?"
"I asked the same question. When he told me that he practically lived at my house, I knew he could have saved them if he was there." Faye tried to keep the tears from falling from her eyes. She bit her lip harshly. "He wasn't. He was driving home from a business thing he had to give me my birthday present which ended up being a waste. When he came back, my parents were in pieces on the ground, the window was broken, and I was nowhere to be seen. They tried to find me but gave up after a while."
Elena didn't know what to say as she watched a tear finally roll down the hybrid's cheeks. She had never seen the strawberry blonde cry before. Faye was usually was so strong and even in the face of death could not be shaken, but now, speaking of her parents, had her shaking and trying to control her breathing.
"I don't know what to do," Faye said, throwing her hands up in the air. "I can't ask the bad guy about my parents when I know we'll probably end up stabbing him in the back soon. I mean I can talk to Lacey about them, but that's different. She saw them from a different view and has different memories; all that sentimental crap."
Elena placed a hand on her shoulder, trying to calm the girl down. "I'm sorry." She was sincere as she spoke. "But, I think you should ask Elijah about your parents. About your childhood. He's family and when I had the chance to know anything about my birth mom, I took it."
Faye appreciated Elena for listening and squeezed her hand as a thank you. The hybrid sighed before trying to collect herself, knowing there were more important matters to take care of. She wiped her tears away and finally found some clean sheets.
"Well, we need to take these to Rose," Faye told Elena. The Gilbert nodded before leading the way to Damon's room.
Once they were in the room, Faye called out to the woman, "We brought some clean sheets." Faye wasn't expecting an answer, but she was expecting Rose to still be lying on the bed. The vampire was gone, worrying them both.
Elena frowned. "Rose?"
"I smell fresh blood," Faye said as she looked around the room, trying to detect the source. There was nothing fresh in there, only making Faye more concerned. "Call Damon while I look for Rose, okay?" She ordered Elena.
Elena did as she was told and pulled out her phone. Faye left the room as she was on the phone, going to search all over the boarding house for their missing vampire. Elena journeyed down the steps doing the same as Damon sent her to voicemail.
"It's Elena, I'm worried about Rose. I think you should come home." Elena hung up the phone after she had finished speak. She looked around a bit more before she finally heard a noise.
"Rose?" Elena called out, following the noises she heard. She headed down into the basement, finding a trail of empty blood bags. She followed it into the cellar where the blood bags were kept. Rose leaned over the fridge, sucking a blood bag dry. "Oh my god."
Rose's face was coated in blood as her eyes traveled up to Elena, revealing her true monstrous form. Her eyes narrowed at the girl and she growled. "Katerina."
Elena shook her head at the name. "No." Rose stood up and charged at her despite her protest. Elena began to run up the stairs, trying to get away from the rabid vampire. She was eventually back into a corner in the parlor room. There was no way to escape from her now.
"Rose, stop, stop, it's Elena. I'm not Katherine." Elena shouted at her. Rose stopped for a moment as if she was listening. "You're hallucinating. I'm not Katherine. I'm not Katherine."
Rose did not seem to hear her and lunged at her. She threw Elena to the ground and bared her fangs. Elena was sure this was it until Faye appeared behind her. The hybrid flung the curtains open as a diversion. Rose burned from the sunlight and ran into the shadows.
"Elena, go. Run." Faye said, her claws extending from her hand.
Elena tried to get away once again, only to be stopped. Rose tried to bury her fangs into the doppelganger, but it was stopped. Faye dug her claws into Rose's wound, causing her to let go and scream. It allowed Faye to grab Elena and rush them both up to a safe place from Rose.
In Stefan's room, the two piled furniture in front of the door to keep Rose out. When they were finished, Faye sighed and glanced over at the girl that had just been assaulted.
"Elena, you okay?" Faye asked her.
Elena nodded. "I'm fine," she told her. The doppelganger grabbed one of Stefan's chair and broke it so she could have a stake to defend herself with, just in case Rose got in.
It wasn't long before there was a sound at the door. Rose attempted to push open the door, causing the doppelganger to jump. When the door wouldn't budge, Rose spoke up. "Elena?" She asked. "I know that's you and not Katherine. Faye, please, I need your help."
No one responded. They both kept quiet and waited Rose out, hoping Damon would return home soon and help her since they could not.
__
The day went further south from the moment Faye and Elena barricaded themselves in Stefan's room. Damon found them hiding out in there and informed them Rose had gotten out. The three had to search for her in Mystic Falls before she could do any harm, but they were too late as they had found her covered in blood surrounded by dead teenagers. No one could blame her for her deaths. She wasn't in her right mind and was sying a miserable death.
They had gotten her home and Damon had tucked her back into his bed so she could have whatever time she have left in comfort. Faye and Damon sat on either side of his bed, watching Rose as she laid asleep. It wasn't long before she finally woke up and blinked her eyes at the pair sitting on her bed.
"Hi there," Damon said.
Rose was quiet for a moment, going over the events of that night. She finally said something as her eyes widened in realization of what happened. "I'm sorry," she told him.
"No." Faye didn't want to hear her apologies. She reached across and grabbed the vampire's hand, squeezing it. "It's okay. You went on a murderous rampage. It happens."
"You're so sweet, Faye. You're exactly like your father," Rose told her with a smile.
Faye stared at her with confusion. "You knew my dad?"
"He was the nicest vampire I've ever known. Saved my life and helped me and Trevor run when we were near Klaus," she responded. "Charles was a good man."
Damon watched as Faye's eyes lit up at her father's name. Elena entered the room behind them, diverting Rose's attention from Faye.
"I'm sorry, Elena. I don't like taking human life, I never have," Rose apologized once again for a mistake she had no control over.
Damon got up and went towards Elena with a disappointed expression on his face. "You shouldn't be here."
Rose ignored Damon trying to get Elena to leave and continued on speaking. "It's the worst part about it: the hunt, the need to kill, the thirst, the pleasure it brings you afterward. I wasn't meant to be evil. It hurts."
"Stop talking about it," Faye instructed, knowing it only made the guilt worse.
There's no way to get Rose to shut her mouth. She just continued to preach to Elena. "Damon's a lot like me. He wants to care but when he does he runs away from it. I'm sorry for what I've done today."
"I know," Elena said. She pushed past Damon to walk over to Rose and speak with her.
"And you need to fight. I know that you're scared but you have to do it anyway." Rose let out a cough, interrupting her speech. Elena immediately reached to hold her head up in support. "Why are you so nice to me?" Rose asked at the gesture.
"Us humans."
Rose smiled at her words. "You can never forget it, what it's like to be human. It haunts me. It's the only thing that's kept me going." She tried to move away from Elena, not needing help anymore. "It doesn't hurt as much anymore."
Her words were not true. Rose let a terrible screech in pain, causing Elena and Faye to both jump. Damon immediately came over to her, trying to help her in any way he could.
"What do we do?" Elena asked him.
"Go."
Elena's gaze softened as he tried to push the two out of the room. "Damon..."
"Just go, I got this." He ordered her and Faye.
Elena left, knowing he meant it. Faye stood there for a while longer, watching as Damon crawled in bed with Rose. He held her close as she screamed out. "Oh god! Make it stop, make it stop! I can't take it anymore, make it stop!"
Faye gained a look of pity. She knew she could not do anything for this woman she barely knew, but wanted to help. The hybrid couldn't imagine what kind of pain she was going through for a vampire who had the ability to resist pain, to scream.
Faye couldn't stand it anymore. She began to leave the room, but not before recalling what Rose had said earlier about wanting to go home. Vampires could manipulate dreams, she knew that and knew Damon could do it.
"She wanted to go home," she told Damon. "St. Austell. It's near London. There were horses and trees."
With that, Faye left with tears in her eyes. Even though she had only known Rose for a while, a death was still heartbreaking, especially when she could see one of her pack members breaking apart over it.
__
"I thought you left."
Damon had turned to see Faye standing in the parlor room with her arms crossed over her chest. It had been an hour since she had left Rose and him alone in the room. By then, Rose was dead. She had seen Damon bury her in the woods out by the boarding house.
"I did. I was going to go on a run but then I came back to make sure that you're okay," Faye told him. She walked up to the table covered in alcohol and glasses. She poured him a glass of bourbon before handing it to him.
"I appreciate the gesture. I'm just glad it's over." He tried to act as if he was okay as he took a sip from the glass.
Faye sighed. "Don't say that, Damon."
"Go for a run, Faye." Damon tried to push her out.
"Damon, don't be like that. I know you're hurting."
"What do you want to hear?" Damon asked. "That I cared about Rose? That I'm upset? Well, I didn't and I'm not."
Faye scowled at him. "Don't act like you flipped the switch with me. Don't pretend to not feel. Damon, you're so close to accepting all this crap. Don't give up."
Damon finally snapped at her. He turned from the fire he was facing to yell at her. "I feel Faye, okay?" And it sucks! What sucks, even more, is that it was supposed to be me. Jules was coming after me." He got everything he was feeling out of his system, but it didn't help. Nothing helped. "Go for your run, Faye," he told her once again, wanting to be alone.
"Don't push me away, Damon. I care about you," Faye pleaded with him.
"Just go, Faye!"
She shut her eyes tight as she felt his fury hit her. She was trying very hard not to take it personal because she knew it wasn't. This wasn't about her. Faye knew he was hurting. He had nothing against her and he was just upset and angry with the world.
"I'll leave," she finally said, abiding by his wishes. "Just please don't do anything stupid, Damon."
Damon turned back around towards the fire, not replying. She let out of huff before exiting the door she had just entered a few moments before, leaving her pack mate to his own thoughts.
__
Faye didn't go running; she went to Elijah's instead. Rose's word had struck a cord in her. She had so many regrets about things she could have done, but she didn't because she was too afraid. Faye was afraid. She was afraid she would get close to Elijah and then, in the end, she would have to turn her back on him for her pack. Being afraid was stopping her from getting the stories of her family she wanted to hear.
She rang the doorbell and tried to make herself presentable. She had been crying again, so worried about Damon and how he was doing with the loss of Rose. She cried for the fallen vampire too, her death impacting her in a way she could not understand.
The door opened soon enough and revealed Elijah in his usual attire. She gave him an awkward smile.
"Hey." Faye waved. "I know it's late, but can I come in?"
The vampire nodded nodded. "Of course," he said. He moved aside so she can walk in to his home. As she walked past, his own strong sense of smell caught the scent of her salty tears. "Have you been crying?"
She subconsciously wiped her eyes. "Yeah." She nodded, admitting to it. She was not facing towards Elijah as she answered him. "That's what happens when people die."
"Who was it?" Elijah asked her.
"Rose got bit by a werewolf and Damon had to kill her so she wouldn't suffer," Faye mumbled. He got the notion that she did not want to speak of it as she tried to get the sentence out as quick is possible.
He decided to change the subject. "What are you doing here, Faye?"
Faye finally turned around to face him, hugging herself tightly. She was nervous, afraid of what could happen, but she knew she had to take the chance. "I need to know more," she told him. "About my parents, my childhood. I need to know everything."

A/N: I love Faye so much. She's my favorite OC of mine. She's just a big ball of emotion. She's protective and caring and I love it. I can't decide if in the next chapter I want Faye to fight the werewolves or be the one being tortured.
Next Chapter: Jules, Tyler finds out, and Werewolf problems
