SIXTEEN ▶ FAYE'S FIRST DANCE

Klaus was here. Katherine couldn't believe he was. After five hundred years of running her finally caught her and she had no idea what to do. She was scared.

"Oh! Who is this guy, Safari Sam?" Klaus commented as he pulled two shirts out of Alaric's closet. He held them both up to Katherine, "Okay, bad, or badder?"

She sat tied to a chair, not struggling to get out, "The dark colors suit you better."

"Oh, thank you, honey." Klaus said in a teasing tone, "Okay, pop quiz. The dagger and white ash are in the Salvatore's possession, correct?"

"The dagger was used to kill Elijah. You'll find him in the basement of the Salvatore house." Katherine informed him.

Klaus nodded, "Okay, that dagger needs to stay exactly where it is. The last thing I need to do is resurrect Elijah. Ohh, that guy is a buzzkill."

"Don't forget you're on the outs with your girlfriend Jenna." She told Klaus.

"Right. Elena's aunt. For all the lies about Isobel. What else?" Klaus took a step forward, looking at her.

"That's it." Katherine replied.

Klaus walked up to her and touched her face. She tried to get away from his touch, making him chuckle, "Oh so jumpy."

"Please, just..." Katherine inhaled sharply, "Kill me. I've told you everything that I know."

"You see, I believe that you believe that, but what would you not know?" Klaus leaned in closer, making eye contact so he can compel her, "What could they be keeping from you? Hmm? Anything? Tell me."

"They were trying to see if Bonnie could find a way to kill an Original without a dagger." Katherine answered unwillingly.

Klaus frowned, "Bonnie the best friend? I thought you said she didn't have her powers anymore."

"She doesn't or didn't. I don't know." Katherine said, shrugging, "You kidnapped me, remember? I'm kinda out of the loop."

Klaus clicked Alaric's tongue, "Well, we'll have to get to the bottom of that."

"Please, just kill me, Klaus, and be done with it."

"And show you kindness?" Klaus asked, cocking Alaric's head to the side, "I've searched for you for over 500 years. Your death is going to last at least half that long." He pulled out a knife from his pocket, "I want you to take this knife..." He compelled her, "And stab yourself."

Katherine took the knife and drove it in to her thigh. Klaus smiled, "Now take it out." She took it out and her wound healed, "Now while I'm gone, I want you to do that over and over and over again and if you get bored, switch legs."

"Where are you going?" Katherine asked him.

"I'm gonna go lay eyes on my precious doppelgänger." He kissed her on the forehead, "Oh, don't look so glum, Katerina. The fun is just beginning. Again." He order before leaving. Katherine once again stabbed herself in the thigh.

"You really think Bonnie can take on Klaus?" Faye asked as she set on the ledge of the tiny brick wall. Elena was signing the deed of the house with Bonnie inside. Since they wouldn't be able to stay inside, the opted to staying outside until she was done.

Stefan shrugged, "She said she could channel enough witch's power to kill him. Elijah thought that would work and he was an Original, so..."

"We just need to find him." Damon concluded.

"Yeah."

"Could she do one of those witch tracking spells?" Faye questioned.

Stefan shook his head, "Nope. Not without something that belongs to Klaus. Believe me, I already asked."

"Do you think he killed her?" Damon asked them both, referring to Katherine.

"Kitty Kat? I don't think so. If someone ran from me for five hundred years after pissing me off, I would torture them." Faye replied, hopping off the ledge.

"I think he did kill her." Stefan said and Faye's theory was instantly tucked away, forgotten about.

"Well, either way, it's not like she didn't have it coming." Damon said.

Elena opened the door finally, letting the lawyer leave, "Thank you, Mr. Henry." He gave her a nod before walking off. Once he was gone, Faye grinned.

"Oh, thank god! I'm hungry!" Faye rushed forward, trying to go into the house. She rammed into the barrier, falling to the ground with a groan.

"Oh my god! Faye, are you hurt?" Elena asked, looking down at the hybrid.

"Only my pride." Faye said, getting up.

Elena sighed, "Oh, I completely forgot." She grinned at Faye and Stefan, "Faye. Stefan. Would you like to come inside my house?"

"I would love to. Thank you." Stefan said before walking inside.

"Finally." Faye muttered, walking inside.

Damon looked at Elena, "What are we, 12?"

"One of us is." Elena replied snarkily, "If I let you in, do you promise to obey the owner of this house?"

"No."

"Seriously, Damon. My way. You promised. I call the shots. No lies, no secret agendas. Remember?" Elena asked, crossing her arm over her chest.

Damon groaned, "Yes, Elena. Sure."

"Then please, come in." Elena said, letting Damon enter. Damon walked in.

"Awh, Damon got told by a human girl." Faye teased.

Damon rolled his eyes, "Shut up, Faye."

Bonnie then joined them, handing Elena her jacket. Faye grabbed her school bag and thermos from the table. She had offered to drive the two girls to school when they were ready.

"Thanks." Elena uttered to Bonnie.

Stefan frowned at the three girls, "Where are you going?"

"To school." Elena said.

"Huh?"

"School. The place where you never go and learn." Faye answered, "Gosh, Stef, pick up the pace."

Damon shook his head t Elena, "No, no, no. We didn't create a safe house for you to leave it."

"Yeah, guys, Klaus is out there. We know that." Stefan said.

"Right. But where? No one knows." Elena sighed, "Look, I really appreciate what you guys are doing. And I'll be able to sleep at night knowing that I'll be safe here, but I'm not going to be a prisoner."

Damon clicked his tongue in annoyance, "Your way, Elena."

"Don't worry, Damon. Me and Bon will be with her. Bonnie will do her witch thing while I rip off his head." Faye said, trying to assure him Elena will be fine.

Elena grinned, "The way I see it, next to Bonnie and Faye is the safest place that I can be."

"Come on." Faye said, leaving. The girls followed and Stefan sighed.

"Wait, um, coming." Stefan told her, leaving with them.

__

Faye slid in to her seat inside Alaric's class next to Elena, who was holding up a decade dance poster for her to see. Faye knew about it and she was excited. It was her first high school dance, something a normal teenager would go to.

Faye nodded before taking it from Elena and show it to Stefan. Stefan she his head, mouthing "no" to her. Faye mouthed a "yes" back, telling him he had no choice but to go. Stefan sighed as Faye giggled softly.

The bell rang when Alaric walked in to class, looking confused, "Hello, class. What are we learning today?"

"With the decade dance tonight, we've been covering the sixties all week." Dana, a cheerleader told him.

"Right. The sixties." Alaric muttered. Faye looked at him, frowning. He seemed like he was having an off day. His eyes connected with Elena's before turning to look at Faye. He then turned around and began writing on the board, "The, uh, ahem..."

"The sixties. I wish there was something good I could say about the sixties, but..." Alaric sighed, clapping his hands together as turned towards the class, "Actually, they kind of sucked. Except for the Beatles, of course. They made it bearable. Uh, what else was there? The Cuban missile thing, the..." He scratched his head, thinking, "We walked on the moon. There was Watergate."

"Watergate was the seventies, Ric." Faye said, correcting him, "Sometimes I think I should be the history teacher." She muttered under her breath.

Alaric nodded in appreciation at her, "Right. It all kind of mushes together up here, the sixties, seventies. Thank you, Faye."

She saluted him.

__

Klaus managed to withstand the rest of class without slipping up and letting everyone know he wasn't Alaric. He suspected Faye knew something was up, but he could easily pass it off as being worried about his relationship with Jenna.

When the bell rang, everyone began leaving the class except for Faye, who walked up to Alaric's desk. She looked around to see if anyone was in the room before crouching down and going through the mini fridge.

"What are you doing?" Klaus asked her.

"You ask me that everyday, Ric." She mumbled as she pulled out a blood bag, "O negative. Glad I stored some of that up." Faye pulled out her thermos and poured the blood in to it, "Why are you so off today?"

"Just the whole Jenna and Isobel thing." Klaus lied.

Faye sighed, "Jenna will come around. Plus, Isobel's not a problem anymore. She's ashes now."

"You really don't have a filter do you?"

"Nope!" Faye said, popping the 'p', "But that's why people enjoy my presence." She sighed, "So, how do you feel about the whole Klaus thing?"

Klaus wanted to smirk at the mention of his name, but he advised against it, "I don't know how to feel. How do you feel about it?"

"Honestly?" Faye asked, seeming nervous, "I may be saying that I'll take him down and all, but I'm scared of him. He could easily come in and kill us all. I'm scared of everyone I love dying and me dying."

Klaus saw the fear in her eyes. He loved it when people were afraid of him, but when he looked at her, he hated it. A part of him didn't want her to be afraid. When he first met her, he loved seeing that smile on her face at what he had said, her laughter making him want to laugh too. Seeing her now, in fear that one of her friends who die, he hated himself for it.

Faye sighed, "But, if it does comes down to me and him, I will fight to save Elena and I will die if I need to, to see her survive. She may not be my best friend, but I will not let her be sacrificed in some ritual." She looked at him, pointing her finger, "But don't tell anyone, I can't let people think they can walk all over me." Faye smiled, "See you later, Ric." She began walking out the door, drinking the blood from her thermos.

When she left, Klaus knew one thing. Despite what he thought would be right, he would still have to kill her if she got in the way.

__

Faye watched from afar as Bonnie and Jeremy talked with each other across. She didn't want them to know she was listening, so she kept her distance from them.

"Did you tell Elena what it's going to take for you to do that Klaus spell?" Faye heard Jeremy ask Bonnie.

Bonnie shook her head as she gave him a stern look, "No, and you're not, either."

"Well, she's gotta know you can't do it." Faye stood up taller, wondering why Bonnie wasn't able to.

"You don't know I can't. Have a little faith in me." Bonnie replied.

"That's not fair. You can't harness the power of a hundred dead witches. It'll kill you."

Faye growled unexpectedly. Bonnie was not going to do this. Bonnie was apart of her pack and even if it was for Elena, she was not willing to let Bonnie die to kill Klaus.

"Shh!" Bonnie yelled out, "We don't know that for certain. You promised to keep my secret, I'm trusting you. I'm going through with this, and if you tell anyone, I swear..."

"What? What are you going to do?"

Faye decided to walk over at that moment, cutting the conversation short. When she was there, she gave Bonnie a pointed look. Bonnie knew she had heard what Jeremy had said and knew that Faye would do everything to stop it. Bonnie shook her head, telling her she wasn't.

"Hey, Jer. How you doing? Are you okay at the house alone with John?" Elena asked, appearing behind Faye as she went to sit down at the table.

Jeremy sighed, "It's not ideal." He got up from his seat.

"You haven't heard from Jenna, have you?" Elena asked.

"It looks like she's staying on campus." He answered, "Look I'm- I'm late for class." He walked out of the cafeteria, leaving the three girls alone.

Elena frowned, sliding in to the seat next to Faye, "What's going on?"

"I told him he had to dress up tonight and he got all uptight." Bonnie said, lying to her face.

Faye rolled her eyes, angry that Bonnie was going to die so she can kill Klaus. It may seem hypocritical, seeing that Faye was willing to die to protect Elena too, but Bonnie had people who loved her. Bonnie has been friends with these people her whole life and they would miss her if she would die, but Faye? No one would even think for a second to save her. She was just the girl who showed up out of the blue.

"Oh." Elena laughed out, bringing Faye back to reality.

Dana joined the group, leaning over the chairs so she could talk to Elena, "Hey, Elena, there you are." She grinned, "Okay. This is going to sound freaky, but this totally hot guy just asked me to ask you if you're going to the dance tonight."

Faye snorted, "Tell him she has a boyfriend."

"You could at least meet him." Dana said, "He'll be at the dance tonight. Look for him. His name is Klaus."

Elena's eyes widened at the name, "I'm sorry, what did you just say?"

"His name's Klaus." Dana clarified. She shook her head slightly, "I know the name's stupid, but I swear he's hot."

Bonnie looked over her shoulder, trying to see if anyone there looked unusual, "Where is he? Is he here?"

Dana looked up and frowned, "I don't know."

"She's been compelled." Faye said in realization.

"But he wants to know if you'll save him the last dance. How cute is that?" Dana gushed.

Faye faked a smile, "Adorable!"

__

"So we go to the dance, we find him." Damon declared as he looked at all the people in the room. Elena, Stefan and Bonnie were with him, talking about Klaus. Faye was scouting the area in her wolf form, trying to pick up a scent that was unfamiliar.

"Really?" Stefan asked, "How are we going to do that? We don't even know what he looks like."

"Something tells me he's not going to be 16 and pimply." Damon countered.

"He could be anywhere at any time. He compelled somebody at school." Stefan looked over at Bonnie and Elena, "I guess it's not as safe as you guys thought, huh?"

There was a knock on the door and Alaric entered the boarding house. Damon sighed in relief, "There you are."

"Sorry I'm late." Alaric said. He went to shut the door, but Damon shook his head.

"Leave it open. Faye's coming back." Damon told him. As if on cue, the small red furred wolf walked in through the door.

Elena's eyes widened, "I've never seen her wolf form before."

"Surprised you haven't, she changes into all the time." Damon replied, gathering one of the blankets off the couch. He threw it over Faye's wolf and she shifted back with ease, standing up.

Faye glared at the two Salvatores, tugging the blanket tight over her body so she was covered, "Which one of you forgot to put up new clothes on the line?"

"We didn't think that was our job." Damon said to her.

"What do you not get from 'Damon, will you do some laundry while I'm gone at school today and put it out for me on the line?' I'm obviously telling you to do that!" Faye smacked the back of his head, "Listen and do what your told."

Damon rubbed the back of his head, "Bite me, Faye."

"Is that an offer?"

"Stop acting like idiots, both of you." Stefan scolded.

"Fine." Damon sighed, looking back at Alaric who had an amused smile on his face, "Back to the matter at hand... Ric, I need you to put me down as a chaperone at the dance tonight. Klaus made his first move."

"Okay, so we find him and then what, hmm?" Elena questioned, "What's our plan of attack?"

Bonnie step forward, "Me. I'm the plan. He has no idea how much power I can channel. If you can find him, I can kill him."

"That's not going to be that easy. I mean, he is the biggest, baddest vampire around." Alaric said.

Damon nodded, agreeing, "Alaric has a point. I mean, what if he..." He rushed towards Bonnie who effortlessly threw him aside with her powers.

Stefan shrugged, "Well, I was impressed."

"It doesn't matter if he's an Original. I can take down anyone who comes at me." Bonnie told them all. She looked at Elena, "I can kill him, Elena. I know I can."

"Okay, good, that's all cleared up." Faye said, sighing, "I'm raiding your family closet to find a dress for the dance." She told Stefan and Damon.

"Why do you even want to go to that thing willingly?" Damon groaned.

"It's her first high school dance, Damon. She's allowed to do something normal." Elena told him, sticking up for her friend.

"I was stuck as a werewolf for ten years of my life. I'm trying to make up for it, Damon." Faye turned to go upstairs, going to find a dress for herself.

__

Faye twirled around in front of the mirror. She was wearing a dress with a flower pattern in shades of blue and green. She had dug out some white go-go boots from one of the trunks along with a parge of large, white, circle earrings. She had a white headband in her strawberry blonde hair and the back of her hair had a slightly poofed up.

Damon walked in and smiled, seeing her, "Well, I never knew you could clean up this good."

Faye turned around, looking at him with a smile, "I'm going to take that as a complement."

"Please do." Damon walked towards her, took her hand, and spun her around, "You ready for this?"

"This fight with Klaus?" Faye asked, seeming nervous, "Not at all."

"I thought you weren't afraid of him?" Damon questioned, frowning.

"I'm putting up a good front." Faye laughed softly, tears in her eyes, "I'm afraid I'll be killed and I've barely have lived a life. I am completely terrified that I won't be able to protect you all and you may end up hurt or dead." She placed her hand on his cheek, "I don't want that to happen."

Damon sighed, "Faye, we will survive this, okay? We'll all live happily ever after and we'll go to Disneyland or something."

Faye cracked a smile, "Really?"

"We can wear the mickey mouse hats if you want too." Damon joked, making her laugh, "But, you will not be dying tonight. I won't let that happen. I will die protecting you."

"Why? I don't matter."

Damon shook his head, "Don't ever say that. Stefan and I care about you, we all care about you. I personally would jump in front of a bullet for you."

Faye reached up and hugged him tightly, burying her face in his shoulder. She was glad she had people she could call family. The two brothers who fought for the people they loved and would die for each other in the end.

Damon hugged her back, wrapping his arms around her waist. He finally felt loved. He finally had a person, a little sister in fact, that didn't want to change him.

He pulled away from the hug and patted her back, "Now, come on, we got to get to that stupid dance and put an end to the big bad Klaus."

"The dance is not stupid." Faye told him.

"Yes it is."

"No it's not."

"Yep."

"Nope."

"Nope."

"Ye- Damon!"

Damon moved out of the way as she threw something at him, chuckling. She glared at him before walking past him and out the door of her room.

__

Faye walked up to Bonnie and Jeremy and smile wide on her face. Damon stood behind, waiting for Stefan and Elena to catch up. Bonnie grinned when she saw her.

"You look amazing!" Bonnie said, looking at her dress.

Faye giggled, "Would it be a little pathetic if I said I'm really excited for this?"

"Not at all." Bonnie said, hugging her tightly.

Faye pulled away and sighed, "Bonnie, please be careful tonight. I know you want to do this spell to save Elena, but you shouldn't risk dying."

"I'll be fine, Faye." Bonnie promised.

Faye smiled nervously before turning her gaze towards Jeremy. She gasped teasingly and tugged at the collar of his shirt, "Wow, Jeremy, you look good enough to eat."

"Please tell me you're joking because I particularly like all the blood running through my veins." Jeremy said, making Faye laugh, "You look nice too, Faye."

Elena, Stefan, and Damon soon joined them. Elena hugged Bonnie gushing about her outfit. They all then turned to face the entrance of the dance, inhaling sharply.

"You guys ready to do this?" Stefan asked.

Faye shook her head, "Not at all, but we kind of need to go in." Everyone agreed and went inside. Students covered the floor of the gym, dancing. Dana was up on the stage, taping at the microphone so she can get everyone's attention. The group of supernatural creatures stopped in front of the stage, looking up at her.

"Thanks for being here, everybody. We have a special shout-out tonight." Dana began. She made eye contact with doppelganger on the floor, smirking, "This is for Elena. From Klaus."

A slow, love song began playing, making Faye want to puke. He definitely didn't seem like he was going to be hot anymore.

"That was a lame, cheap shot. He's just trying to bait us." Damon muttered to the group.

Elena looked around, "I know everyone here."

"Maybe he's not here. Just wants us to believe that he is." Faye suggested, trying to calm herself.

"It's a party, people. Blend. Let him come to us." Damon instructed.

Bonnie nodded, "Good idea." She grabbed Jeremy by the arm and began dragging him away.

"No, no, I really don't feel like dancing."

"Too bad."

"There's Ric. We'll be back." Damon told Stefan and Elena, grabbing Faye's hand. They began walking towards Alaric, pushing their way through the crowd.

Faye smiled at Alaric, seeing that he actually dressed up, "Wow, at least one of the chaperons managed to do the right thing and dressed up appropriately."

"I hated the sixties." Damon defended himself.

"Yeah, well they probably hated you too." Faye uttered under her breath. Damon elbowed her and she elbowed him back, harder. He stumbled a bit before glaring at her.

"So, special dedication, huh?" Alaric asked Damon, "This guy's a little twisted."

Damon shrugged, "I'm not impressed."

"No?"

"I think Damon believes he's better at being a creep than Klaus." Faye said with a grin, "Tell me, Damon, how did you stalk Elena when you came in to town? Wasn't through a crow and your little fog thing?"

"Faye, shut up." Damon said, glaring at her. He then looked at Alaric, "Let me know if you see anything out of whack." He grabbed Faye by the hand and dragged her on to the dance floor. He placed his hand on her hip while taking on of her own with the other. She swung her arm over his shoulder.

"Why are we dancing?" Faye asked him.

"Because I'm going to make all your little high school teenager dreams come true." He said, spinning her out and back into his arm. She erupted in giggles, causing him to smile.

__

Her and Damon were having fun until Elena came over and dragged Faye into the hallway along with Bonnie. Stefan had told Elena that Bonnie would die using her powers on Klaus and Stefan knew that Faye knew. Now, Elena was pissed at both of them.

"How could you not tell me?" Elena asked the two of them.

"'Cause I knew how'd you react." Bonnie told her.

"No. No way, it's not an option." Elena said, shaking her head,

"I don't like it either, Elena, but it's our only option." Faye tried to make her have peace with it like she did. Bonnie wanted to save the people she loved, like Faye and Elena do.

"Then we'll find another way, okay?" The doppelganger yelled out, "Bonnie, you're not dying to save my life."

Bonnie threw her hands up in the air, "I have the power to save you! If I don't use it and something happens, that would kill me more."

"I can't let you."

"Just answer one question..." Bonnie began, "If the situation was reversed, would you do it for me?" Elena didn't answer, "So you know why I have to."

"No! No!" Elena cried out again.

"Elena!" Faye yelled out, grabbing her shoulders, "Pull it together! She's trying to save you so you aren't sacrificed by some psycho! If she does die, I will do everything in my power to find someone to bring her back to life goddammit!"

"Elena!" Someone yelled out, causing the girls' heads to turn. Alaric jogged into their view, looking anxious.

"What is it?" Elena asked.

"He has Jeremy."

"What?"

"What?!" Faye growled out, her claws extending from her fingers.

"Yeah, Klaus has Jeremy." Alaric panted, "Come on." He gestured for them to follow as they ran down the hallway. It seemed like they were going nowhere.

"Okay, so where are you taking us?" Elena asked, confused.

"Just a little further." Alaric whispered, sounding like a maniac.

Faye stopped, holding out her arms to stop Elena and Bonnie too, "Something's not right."

"Where's Jeremy?" Bonnie asked him.

Alaric turned around, laughing, "I just had to get away from that dance. The sixties, ugh. Not my decade." He laughed again, "I mean, whose call was that, anyway? I much prefer the twenties. The style, the parties, the jazz."

"Alaric." Elena said cautiously, "Are you on vervain?"

"Now why would you ask me that question, Elena?" Alaric asked, cocking his head to the side.

"He's being compelled."

Faye shook her head, "He isn't, Elena. I know when someone's compelled and he isn't."

"I knew you were the brains of the group, Faye. Most likely the beauty too." Alaric said with a smirk, "Can you figure out what's really going on?"

"You're not Alaric." Faye concluded. She read through Bonnie's grimoire once and a body jumping spell would be nice when it came to wanting to get close to someone. Klaus jumped in to Alaric's body so he could easily get close to Elena without suspicion, "You're Klaus."

"Surprise!" Alaric, who was revealed to be Klaus called out.

"Oh, no. No, it's not possible." Elena gasped.

Faye nodded nervously, "Actually, it can. It's a spell that is able to possess a person with the soul of someone else. The body which is to be possessed has to be unconscious and pumped with external blood." Bonnie gave her a look, "Oh, don't look at me! I read your grimoire!"

"See, that's why I like you." Klaus said, "So smart, always prepared just in case a new threat comes your way." Elena was shaking in fear and Klaus noticed this, "Just relax, Elena. I'm not here to hurt you. You're not on my hit list tonight." He looked over at Bonnie, "But you are."

Bonnie threw her hand up, throwing him against the wall with her magic. He chuckled, getting up, "Now, did I mention that I knew a witch? You're gonna have to hit me a lot harder than that."

Klaus rushed towards her and she threw him back against a glass case, making it shatter. He laughed, "By all means... Fire away!" He got up, "If you kill this body, I'll just get a new one. Maybe Jeremy."

Faye's face changed, her veins popping out on her smooth skin. The sclera of her eyes changed to a blood red color while her iris' were now gold. She flashed her fangs at Klaus while he claws extended from her hand.

"Elena, Bonnie." Faye said, taking a few steps towards Klaus, "Run and find Damon."

"What about you?" Elena asked.

Faye turned towards them, fangs and all, "I can handle myself." They made no sign showing they were leaving, "Run! Now!" Both girls began running, going to find Damon.

Klaus looked at her, smirking, "You are marvelous creature. Half vampire, half wolf."

"Shut up." Faye growled, ready to attack him.

"I don't want to kill you, Faye, but if I need to I will." Klaus told her.

"I won't let you kill the people I love." Faye sneered, holding her claws up, "So, come on, Klaus. Hit me."

Klaus rushed forward, going after her. She let out a roar, grabbing Alaric's arm and throwing him to the floor. She pressed her go- go boot in to Alaric's throat, causing Klaus to chuckle.

"You wouldn't dare kill your favorite history teacher, would you?" Klaus asked her.

"It's what Alaric would want." Faye told him, pressing the boot further into his throat, "But I think he'd want to to drag it out first."

Klaus grabbed her ankle, flipping her over. He wrapped Alaric's hand around her throat and she struggled to get him off.

"How do you feel now, Faye?" Klaus asked her, "Staring straight in to the face of death."

"Not scared at all. Want to know why?" Faye asked him. She leaned up so she could whisper in his ear, "Because you look like my goddamn history teacher."

She reached her knee up, hitting him straight in the crotch. He groaned rolling over so she was able to move. Faye got up and followed the scent of Damon, trying to find him.

__

When she got there, Stefan and Elena were all with him. She looked at Elena, her eyes widening.

"Where's Bonnie?" Faye asked quickly.

"I don't know." Elena said before looking at Damon. "Where's Bonnie?"

Damon didn't answer. Faye took a step forward, "Damon, where's Bonnie?"

"She's doing what she has to do." Damon told them.

"What?" Elena said softly.

"Where is she?" Stefan questioned his brother.

Damon shook his head, "Stefan, let her do this."

"Damn it, Damon, where is she?!" Stefan yelled out. Suddenly, Faye could smell something like fire. Fire meant Bonnie.

Faye rushed towards the cafeteria where could smell it. The doors were locked shut, but Bonnie and Klaus were inside fighting. Faye cried out, slamming her fist against the window of the door. She could see the blood rushing down her face.

"Bonnie!" Faye screamed, "Bonnie! You're going to die if you don't stop!"

Elena showed up behind her with Stefan, gasping when she saw Bonnie, "Bonnie! No!"

Bonnie looked at the two girls with a smile, one that meant goodbye. Faye screamed, trying to break the door down the best she could. Bonnie collapsed to the floor, dead. Everything in the room stopped, but Faye couldn't stop her tears which feel down her face.

The doors unlocked and Faye blurred to her, biting in to her. She shoved it in to Bonnie's mouth, "Bonnie, come on. Wake up."

Elena came up beside her, "No! Oh! Bonnie! Bonnie, Bonnie! Bonnie! Hey, hey." She took Bonnie in to her arms, "Stefan, she's not breathing!"

"Why isn't my blood working?!" Faye screamed in frustration.

"Stefan! Stefan, I can't find her pulse! Stefan!" Elena cried out, "Do something, please! Stefan, please! Just give her blood, do something, please!"

"It's too late. I'm sorry."

Faye sobbed for her friend, her pack mate, "No! No. No, no, no, no, no! Bonnie! Bonnie, please, no! No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no!"

Damon arrived and sighed, "Stefan, get Elena out of here. Faye and I will deal with the body."

"What do you mean, deal with it?" Elena yelled at him.

"The sheriff can't know about this. Last thing we need's another mysterious death." Damon said.

"This is Bonnie!"

Damon looked at Stefan, "Get her home. Now. So we can clean this up."

Stefan caught Elena and helped her up, "Hey, hey, hey."

"No. Jeremy. Oh, my God, Jeremy. What about Jeremy?" Elena cried.

"I'll find him." Damon promised.

Elena got up, looking at Bonnie's body one last time. She was still crying at Stefan guided her out of the cafeteria.

Damon looked down at Faye, who still cried over Bonnie's body. Damon crouched down beside her, wiping her tears, "Stop crying."

"Bonnie's dead!" Faye said.

"No, she's not."

"What do you mean she's not?! She's not breathing and she has no pulse. That equals dead!" Faye yelled at him.

"Bonnie had to die. Klaus using Alaric's body was a total surprise. She wasn't prepared for that. And he wasn't going to stop, and we weren't going to be able to stop him until he knew she was dead. He had to believe it." Damon explained to her, "Bonnie cast a spell. She's okay."

Faye's face softened, tears of joy filling her eyes, "Really?"

"Really."

Faye slung her arms around Damon, happy that Bonnie wasn't dead, "I'm going to kill her when she wakes up."

"I know. I know."

Faye got home after dropping off Bonnie with Jeremy at the witch house with Damon. She went straight up to her room to change, wanting to get out of her decade dance outfit.

She couldn't believe that Klaus was right under their noses the whole time. No one knew what he had planned next and no one knew anything about him. They didn't know how to prepare for his next move. But someone did.

Her eyes snapped open in realization, "Elijah."
