NINE ▶ UNDER THE MOON LIGHT

Faye sat with Bonnie and Elena on the doppelganger's bed. Faye was throwing the teddy bear she had up the air while listening and commenting on their conversation.

"Now that you've got this back, what are you gonna do with it?" Elena asked as she held the moonstone.

Bonnie sighed, "Right now, it's what is binding the Sun and the Moon Curse. If I can figure out a way to remove the spell from the stone, the stone becomes useless."

"And according to Katherine, Klaus becomes vengeful." Elena responded.

Faye shrugged behind them, "Maybe. If he finds out."

"Bonnie, can't this wait?" Elena asked the witch, "Stefan is stuck in the tomb with Katherine. We've got to get him out."

Faye sighed and leaned up, "Bonnie needs to be focused on this. Stefan's taking one for the team and is willing to be stuck in there for a while."

"Don't listen to him. He thinks that he's protecting me, but he's wrong." Elena told them both.

Bonnie sighed and took the moonstone from Elena's hands, "I'm taking Stefan's side with this one. We're not gonna let you get used in some creepy sacrifice ritual."

Jeremy walked in to the room and looked at the girls, "What are you guys arguing about?"

"We're not arguing about anything." Bonnie said. She slipped the moonstone in to her bag and left it on Elena's bed, "I need coffee."

"Bring me some!" Faye called after her as the witch walked away. Jeremy, Elena, and her sat in the room as awkward silence filled the air.

Elena was the one who broke it, "What?" She asked Jeremy who was staring at her.

"Why are you on some suicide mission?" Jeremy questioned.

"I'm trying to prevent everyone else from getting hurt." Elena told him.

"Oh so, bringing Klaus the moonstone so you can get yourself killed is okay?" Jeremy asked before getting up.

Elena sighed and looked at Faye, "Are you going to yell at me too?"

"No. I'm going to yell at Bonnie because she's taking forever with my coffee." Faye got up off the bed and made her way downstairs, "Bonnie Bennett! Where is my-"

Elena could no longer hear the hybrid so she took her chances. She turned to look at Bonnie's bag and took the moonstone out of it. She quietly exited the room and hurried down the steps with her car keys in hand. Just as she was about to leave, Faye stopped her.

"Where are you going?" She asked the doppelganger.

"Um, to see Stefan." Elena lied.

Bonnie walked up next to Faye, "You're lying."

Elena shook her head, "No I'm not."

"Really? Tell your face." Faye replied.

"Are you serious?"

Jeremy came down the stairs with an exasperated look on his face, "She took the moonstone."

"How did you...?" Elena asked, looking at all three of them.

"We tested you, and you failed." Bonnie informed her.

"Klaus killed Katherine's entire family just because she crossed him." Elena shook her head, "I can't let that happen."

Faye smirked, "By all means, go make a martyr if yourself Elena." Elena didn't budge, "We're not going to stop you anymore."

Elena took at step forward cautiously, attempting to see if they would stop her. None of them did so she continued towards door, only to run in to the barrier Bonnie had put up. Faye began laughing loudly, loving how the girl was looking confusedly at it. Elena placed her hand on the invisible wall before looking at the three.

"What did you do?" Elena asked Bonnie.

"It's for the best, Elena." Bonnie replied, looking over at Jeremy and Faye. Faye was still laughing softly as she walked past Elena.

"Well, at least I can leave." Faye taunted, "I hope you enjoy your imprisonment. I'll give you're love to Stefan." She smirked before leaving the house.

__

"You trapped her in the house?" Stefan asked as Faye and Damon stood in the entrance of the tomb.

"It's for the best. Trust me. Elena is on a martyr tear that rivals your greatest hits. You should be glad the witch and I are even getting along." Damon told him.

"It was hilarious when she ran in to the barrier. I laughed so hard." Faye said, grinning at the memory of it, "You should've been there Damon."

Damon rolled his eyes before looking over at Stefan once again, "I brought you this." He handed Stefan the bag, "Care package: candles, lanterns and lunch." Damon showed him the bottle of blood.

Stefan shook his head, "Give that to me and I'm just gonna have to share it with her."

Faye looked at Katherine and groaned, "Yeah..."

"You three are surprisingly calm, considering Klaus will hunt you down and kill you if you mess with his little plan." Katherine said.

Faye shrugged, "I've been dead to the world before. I won't mind if I'm actually dead. I'll get over it."

"Once we deal with this moonstone, we'll figure a way to get you out." Damon told his brother.

"Don't worry about me. Just make sure Elena's safe."

Faye looked at Katherine once before leaving the tomb.

__

"Gilberts! You're favorite person is here." Faye looked over at Damon, "With Damon."

Damon rolled his eyes and walked in to the living room where Elena was sitting, "You should really lock your door." Elena scowled at him, "Oh, come on, pouty. At least give me two points for ingenuity."

"Do you think this is funny?" Elena asked him.

"Yes Elena. I find hilarity in the lengths that I have to go to repeatedly save your life." Damon said.

"What does Stefan say about this?"

Faye grinned, "We had a good laugh."

"And what did he say about Elijah still being alive?" Elena asked them.

Faye's eyes widened, "Suit and tie's alive? Why didn't anyone inform me of this?"

Damon plopped down on the couch and looked up at Faye, "I did. You ignored me." He said.

"Well, sorry. It's not my fault every time you speak it comes out like blah, blah, blah, blah, blah." Faye replied.

Damon rolled his eyes for the third time today at the girl and looked over at Elena, "I didn't tell him."

"Why not?" Elena asked.

"Well A: he can't do anything about it; and B: ... what I just said." Damon told her. Jeremy walked down from the steps. He looked at Damon and Faye.

Damon turned to face Jeremy, "Where is Bonnie?"

"I thought she was meeting you." Jeremy responded.

Damon shook his head, "No, she's on moonstone duty and I'm on Elena patrol."

"And who's on Tyler Lockwood and the full moon?" Jeremy asked and Faye raised her hand.

"Me and Caroline are." Faye told him, "And I need to leave..." She checked her phone, "Now. I'll see you losers later." She walked out the door.

__

"I'm here, don't worry." Faye said as she hopped out of her car with her bag just as Caroline and Tyler hopped out of Caroline's, "I got held up at Elena's." She told them, honestly.

Tyler sighed, "Good." He walked to the trunk of Caroline's car and opened it. He grabbed his duffle bag, "Let's do this."

They all walked down in to the cellar. Faye helped Tyler begin setting up the chains he had bought for this specific thing.

"Tell me you brought the instruction manual." Caroline said jokingly as she looked at the chains.

"Tell me you brought the wolfsbane." Tyler said.

Caroline nodded and held out the plant, "Yes. Not an easy herb to find. This is it."

"Tyler do-" Despite Faye's warning, he touched it. He yelped as it burnt his hand. He drew in his breath.

"I have a water bottle in my bag, we can mix it in there." Tyler told Caroline and she went to mix it in the water.

Tyler turned to Faye who was linking the chains to the bolts, "The guy at the hardware store said this set-up could hold up to 5,000 pounds."

"Is that more than a werewolf can pull?" Caroline asked him.

Faye sighed and tugged on the chains with her strength, "It might hold. I don't know really." She looked over at Tyler, "Hey Tyler, how are you doing?"

"Still human." He replied before removing his shirt and turning away.

Caroline gasped, "Oh my god, you're not gonna get naked, are you?"

"It's elastic. What should I wear? I don't think it's like The Hulk, where I get to keep my pants." Tyler said as he pulled off his pants.

"You don't. That's why I brought extra clothes." Faye tossed Caroline her duffle bag along with her phone, "If anyone calls, don't answer it."

"Who would call you?" Caroline asked her.

Faye laughed sarcastically, "Haha. Hear that Caroline? That's my sarcastic laugh."

"Faye, can you help me with these chains?" Tyler asked her. She nodded before going to snap the chains around him.

Faye snapped the collar around his neck before moving to his feet and arms. She laughed slightly, "If anyone walked in right now, they'd think were having a kinky threesome."

"Shut up, Faye." Tyler said with an eye roll.

"And here I thought we were becoming friends..."

__

A couple of hours passed and Tyler was still human in his chains. It was dark outside already, but wasn't time for the turn. Faye could feel her wolf wanting to come out and play, but she wasn't going to shift until Tyler had.

"What time is it?" Tyler asked Caroline.

"Almost 8. What time does the moon crest or whatever?" Caroline questioned.

"Not for a while. Mason's journal said the first transformation can happen before the moon hits its apex." Tyler explained to her.

"Which means you'll begin shifting in the next hour because the moon reaches it's apex around nine." Faye informed both of them. Tyler began to look a bit uneasy so she reached up from her spot on the ground and grabbed his hand in attempt to comfort him,

Caroline sighed, "Does it say how long you'll actually be a wolf?"

"A few hours. Maybe more, maybe less." Tyler said. He tried sat down next to Faye but the chains stopped him.. He took the water bottle that was sitting beside her and Caroline.

Faye frowned and gazed at him, "Are you sure you want to do that?"

"Yeah. Mason said it'll diminish my strength so I can't break free." Tyler swallowed some but it came right back up. He choked before beginning to gag and puke on the ground. He fell to his knees as he couched. Both of the girls rushed to his side.

"Tyler..." Caroline touched his back.

"No."

"Shh..." Faye whispered.

"Don't! Don't!" Tyler yelled out. Caroline, Faye, and him all looked at each other, "I'm sorry."

Caroline tenderly touched his face

__

Elijah and Elena were making a deal in her bedroom.

"Together, we can protect everybody that matters to you. So, do we have a deal?" Elijah asked her.

"I need you to do one more thing for me." Elena said.

Elijah quirked an eyebrow at her, "We're negotiating now?"

Elena explained how Stefan got stuck in the tomb and couldn't get out. She asked him since he knew witches, if he could have him released.

"I'll get him released on one condition." Elijah began.

"Anything."

"I need to have a chat with your friend Faye." Elijah told her. Elena frowned. Faye had taken a bite out of him and the only reason that Elijah would want to talk with her is to kill her.

"Are you going to kill her?" Elena asked, "Because if you are, then no."

Elijah shook his head, "I would never kill her."

"Then you have a deal."

__

Tyler withered in pain on the floor and both Faye and Caroline were trying to comfort him. He attempted to remove his chains but he couldn't.

"Hey. Tyler. Tyler." Caroline said.

Tyler cried out, "I'm burning up. It burns!"

Faye looked at him with sadness and stroked his cheek, "I know. Just breathe through this, okay?"

"I'm trying. You should go. You should leave." Tyler told them both.

"No way in hell." Faye said.

"Not yet." Caroline told him.

His bones began snapping and breaking, causing him to scream. Caroline screamed, but Faye remained calm. Tyler cried,

"It hurts. It hurts." Tyler sobbed out.

Caroline looked at him, shaking her head, "I want to help but I don't know what to do."

"There's nothing you can do." Faye said.

Tyler got up and his spine began breaking. His yells of pain began filling the cellar along with Caroline cries.

"Get out!" Tyler yelled.

Faye shook her head, "No!"

"Get out! I don't want to hurt you." He said to them.

Caroline refused to, "No! No." She embraced him while Faye took off her jacket and threw it to the floor, "What are you doing?"

"He's about to shift, Caroline. I'm about to too." She informed her, "I know what I'm doing so I won't hurt you."

__

Tyler laid on the ground quietly as Faye stripped down to her underwear. Caroline still held him, whispering in to his ear.

"It's okay. You'll fight through it, okay?" Caroline whispered softly.

Tyler suddenly had a limb spasm. He screamed in pain and Caroline attempted to soothe him again.

"Leave!" He yelled out.

"No." She replied.

"Just go, please!"

"No not yet."

"Just go!"

"I'm right here, and I'm not going anywhere." Caroline told him.

He screamed out unexpectedly. Faye's eyes widened as she looked at Caroline, "Go! Now!"

Caroline rushed out, shutting the gate to that part of the cellar. Tyler's eyes were gold and his fangs were out for the girls to see. He got up as he smelt Caroline in the room and rushed to the gate. His chains broke and Faye knew that's when she needed to shift.

Faye bones began cracking and she didn't cry out at all. Slowly, her features began transforming in to a wolf's as she crouched to the ground. Her underwear ripped, falling to the ground in shreds. She looked up with the same gold eyes as Tyler. Red fur replaced her usual pale skin. When it was over, she seemed to look over at Caroline and nod, letting her know it's okay to run.

Caroline left as Tyler fell to the ground in pain and finally completed the shift, turning in to a large black wolf.

__

Tyler and Faye's wolf leveled each other out. They didn't fight each other. It was just as if two dogs were playing together, running around in space they could. Faye thought it was nice to have someone to shift with and have her wolf to be with. It was never as much fun when she ran with the other actual wolves out in the wild since they didn't have all of her special abilities.

It lasted for hours but Faye didn't mind. She hoped that Tyler would be okay when e shifted back though. That he was still stable and felt good that he had gotten through his first full moon.

Faye's wolf shook her fur before play fighting with Tyler's wolf once again.

__

The door to the tomb opened up and Katherine and Stefan both turned their heads to look. Elijah stood in the entry way, causing Katherine to stiffen up.

"Elijah."

He grinned at her, "Good evening Katerina. Thank you for having the good sense to be frightened." Elijah looked beyond her at Stefan, who was surprised to see the Original himself, "Your release has been requested."

"What? By who?"

"The lovely Elena drives a hard bargain. However, we reached a peaceful agreement, she and I. Please." Elijah gestured for him to exit, "Come."

Stefan shook his head, "I can't"

"Yes, you can. I've had the spell lifted."

Stefan slowly exited the tomb, worried that Elijah might do something. Katherine tried to leave once he had left the tomb. Elijah stopped her and compelled her.

"As for you however, you should not exit until I say so. When Klaus comes, he'll want to know exactly where you are." Elijah looked at Stefan once he was finished, "You're free to go. Elena will explain the arrangement to you. If she keeps her word, I'll keep mine. But, first, I need to know where I can find your hybrid friend."

Stefan was worried, "You'll kill her."

"I assure you, Stefan. Faye will not to come to any harm at my hands." Elijah promised him, "I will compel it out of you."

Stefan looked at him warily before answering, "It's a full moon. She shifts when it's a full moon. She shifts every night and morning."

__

Faye shifted back as Tyler fell asleep on the ground after he changed back. She unlocked the gate where her things were being held so they wouldn't be torn up and grabbed her duffle bag. She pulled out her clothes and changed in to leggings and a flannel shirt of Stefan's. She always wore his clothes after a shift for some reason. It was like her tradition.

Caroline stepped through the door as Faye was laying a blanket over Tyler. She yelled their names, "Tyler? Faye?"

"Caroline" Tyler whispered, signaling that he was awake, "Faye?"

"Hey, Ty." Faye whispered softly, "You did good."

Caroline rushed in to the part of the cellar they were in and sighed when she saw Faye and Tyler there. She crouched down beside Tyler, "You're okay. You made it. You didn't get out. You're okay."

He was crying, "No, I'm not."

"Oh, Tyler." Faye said and she pulled Tyler in to a hug. She rested his head on her lap, "Just so you know, when you were a wolf, I kicked your ass."

That made Tyler laugh softly through his tears, "You did?"

"Your wolf likes mine very much." Faye told him with a smile, "That's why you didn't hurt anyone. Because you had my wolf to hang out with."

Caroline smiled, "That's nice."

"And Tyler, I promise you. It doesn't hurt much when you get used to the pain." Faye said, "Come on. We need to get you dressed and home."

__

Faye exited her car at the boarding after she had helped Tyler get back to his normal self again and taken him home. She pushed a loose strand of hair behind her ear as she grabbed her duffle bag. She slung it over her shoulder and then locked the doors to her car.

Suddenly, she was thrown back against the car. She retaliated, grabbing her attacker by the arm. Faye flipped him and he landed on the ground with a groaned. The attacker got up and quickly wrapped his hand around her throat, choking her.

"Ah, Mr. Suit and tie." Faye said when she got a good look at him, "Have to admit, a little surprised to see you coming all this way just for me. Mad that I got a bite out of you?"

"No. Not really." Elijah replied.

"Well, if you're hear to kill me, get on with it. But I won't go down with out a fight." She flashed her fangs at him before ripping his hand away from her throat.

"I'm not here to kill you."

Faye rolled her eyes, "Don't lie. Everyone wants to kill me at some point. Damon, Katherine, Mason, and now you. I'm a threat, I get it."

"I don't think you understand." Elijah straighten out his suit cuffs, "We need to talk."

"We just did. Nice chatting with you, Elijah." Faye waved before waling towards the boarding house.

"Faye Rebekah Daniels, I do expect you to join me for a chat. It was the deal." He called after her.

She turned around and scowled at him, "Did you just full name me? How do you even know my middle name? And what do you mean by deal?"

"The deal I made with Ms. Gilbert to release Stefan from the tomb. They're together at the moment I suspect." Elijah informed her, "But all shall be explained once we sit down."

__

Elijah had taken her to the apartment he was staying in. No one else lived here with him, so it was quite. They had both sat down at the dining room table in his apartment. He offered her tea which she took cautiously, thinking it may have been laced with vervain.

Faye cradled her cup of tea as she sat across from Elijah, watching him intensely. She didn't know why she was here. She didn't know why he requested to talk to her. Faye thought

"So," Faye began, putting her tea on the table, "Are you going to talk?"

"Tell me. How was your day?" Elijah asked her.

"Fantastic." Faye said sarcastically.

"I'd appreciate if you did not use sarcasm with me, Ms. Daniels. It's impolite." He responded coolly.

"If you didn't notice, I'm not a polite person."

Elijah sighed, "Just like your mother."

Faye's eyes widened and she leaned forward, "You knew my mother?"

"I knew both of your parents." Elijah replied, "My question was a simple thing to answer."

"Well, I laughed at Elena, teased her, and then helped my friend with his first full moon. It was eventful and depressing." Faye said as she sipped her tea. Surprisingly, no poison, "How was yours, Elijah?"

Elijah smiled at her, "I had a nice day, thank you for asking."

"Now, how do you know my parents?" Faye asked him.

"I've known your father since the 1500s." Elijah told her, "He was newly turned and was traveling around England, leaving a pile of bodies everywhere. My siblings and I were living there around that time. We were going to kill him, but my brother seemed to have found a friend in him. We helped him with control and then your aunt Lacina had found her brother and asked to be turned."

"And I'm guessing you turned her," Faye said.

"A friend of ours did." He replied before continuing, "They stayed with us until a situation arose and your father and Lacinia had to leave."

Faye scowled, "Because of the damn witch and her curse I'm guessing. Bitch made my life hell."

"Language." Elijah scolded her, "I never saw your father Charles again until he called me 90 years later. He had met a woman named Amelia, your mother, and she was with child. I had never heard of anything like this so I went to see what the fuss was about. A werewolf was having the child of a vampire and I did not believe it until I had seen it in person. Lacina informed me that it was the curse that had created you."

"So, this is what I'm getting at. You know my aunt and dad because they were like your groupies in the 1500-1900s and then they ran away when my dad got cursed. Then they call you because my mom is pregnant with me because of a curse that wasn't much of a curse at first because it brought me into this world." Faye said, trying to clear this up.

Elijah nodded, "I helped them through it and I was there while you were born. While you grew, I helped raise you."

Faye choked on her tea, "Godfather?! They made you my godfather?!"

"You called me Uncle Elijah." Elijah teased her.

"I'm kind of messed up at the moment." Faye put her head in her hands, "This is fantastic." She said sarcastically.

"I know this is a lot to take in..."

Faye looked up at him, eyes wide with disbelief, "A lot?! I was just told that my godfather is a super vampire that can't be killed by my hybrid bite or a stake and also wanted to kidnap Elena, I don't mind that much, but... You're a super vampire! This is more than a lot." She sighed, "Where were you when I shifted for the first time and kill them?"

"I had left days before to follow a lead about Klaus with Lacina and I was returning with her to visit you for your birthday. When we had arrived, we were too late. Your parents were mauled to death and you were gone, nowhere to be seen." Elijah said with a sad look in his eyes, "We looked for you for a year after we had learned the rest of the curse. We gave up just before you returned back to your human form."

Faye stood up and ran her hands through her hair, "I need to go home." She said quickly, "I need time for this to just sink in. This is too much."

"Take all the time you need to think this through." Elijah replied, "But you are allowed to come find me if you ever need to discuss this more."

Faye nodded before collecting her things, "Goodbye, Elijah." With that, she rushed out of the apartment and back home.
