FOURTEEN ▶ WHEN WITCHES ATTACK
Damon walked downstairs and past "Elena" who had walked inside, "Good morning, Damon." He stopped in his tracks, turning to face "Elena". He knew it wasn't her and slammed her into the wall, "What are you doing here? I told you to leave."
"What is your problem?" "Elena" said, struggling against his hold.
"You're wearing her clothes?" Damon scoffed, "Like that's going to work."
"You think I'm Katherine? Why would you think that? Katherine's in the tomb!" "Elena" frowned when she Damon's expression, "Isn't she?"
Damon let her go as Stefan arrived, "What the hell's going on here?"
"Elena" looked up at him, "I don't know, you tell me. Is Katherine in the tomb or not?"
Stefan rushed back upstairs to where the real Elena was and shoved her into the wall. Elena gasped, "What are you doing?!"
"How could you do this?!" He roared at her, his grip tightening.
Elena whimpered, "Stefan, you're hurting me!"
"Stop it, Katherine!"
"Stop what?" Katherine said, appearing in the room after leaving Damon downstairs. She smirked when Stefan let go of Elena and both gave her a nasty look, "It's getting really easy being you." She told Elena.
Faye groaned as she stumbled into Stefan's bedroom, "Why all the yelling? I've had a horrible week, let me sleep." She sensed Katherine was there and dove towards her, slamming her against the wall with a growl, "Katherine."
"Hello again, amnesia."
__
"What is she doing here?" Elena asked Damon, Faye and Stefan as she glared at Katherine. They had all gathered inside Stefan's room, discussing what they were going to do with Katherine. Faye particularly wanted bite her and hope she died a horrible death.
"When we killed Elijah, it broke the compulsion and freed the bitch from the tomb." Damon explained to her.
Stefan turned and looked at Katherine with a scowl, "How's that possible?"
"He's an Original. They have all sorts of special skills." Katherine answered her question.
"I don't want you here." Elena growled at her, "Get her out of here." She then said to the other three supernatural creatures.
Faye's face transformed as she smirked, "Gladly." She jumped to attack Katherine, but Stefan grabbed her by the arm and stopped her. Faye pouted, upset that she didn't get to sink her teeth into the vampire's neck.
"You can't just release your pet wolf on me, Elena." Katherine told her carbon copy, "You need me. You all do."
Faye scoffed, "Like hell we do."
"We all want the same thing..." Katherine began, looking at everyone in the room, "Klaus dead. Yet here you all are, running around like chickens with their heads cut off."
"I don't need your help and I don't want it." Elena said to her coldly.
"And that's incredibly stupid of you. Do you know where Klaus is? When he's coming, what he looks like?" Katherine asked them.
Damon glared at her, "If you know something, say it or get out."
"Fine. Then I'll just go to the grill and have some lunch..." Katherine smirked at Elena, "Maybe Aunt Jenna's free for a bite."
Faye rolled her eyes, "I don't have time for this. I need to get ready for school. Katherine, just stay out of my room." She said before walking out of the room to get ready for school.
__
"She's out of the tomb?" Bonnie asked Faye as her, Jeremy, and Faye walked in the courtyard of the school. Faye was explaining to them how Katherine showed up that morning unexpectedly.
"Yeah. We're dealing with it, all right?" Faye told them, "Just be extra careful. I may be able to sniff her out, but you can't and she's gotten a little too good at impersonating Elena."
Jeremy looked at Bonnie worriedly, "With Katherine still around, we gotta find a way to get your powers back."
"Stefan wants to get the Martin witches on our side. With Elijah gone, he thinks we can all form a team and take down the big bad Klaus." Faye explained.
Bonnie shook her head, "It's impossible. They hate us."
"It's either win them over or somebody's going to end up dead, most likely, one of us." Faye said, pointing to herself, "You think you can at least convince them to have a civil conversation with me and Stefan?"
Bonnie sighed, "I'll try."
"Thanks. Keep me posted." Faye said turning to leave. She turned back around to say something to Bonnie, but found her and Jeremy kissing, "Oh my god!" Jeremy and Bonnie looked at her, blushing. Faye clapped her hands excitedly, "That was adorable! Awh, you guys are so cute." She walked over and pinched Jeremy's cheeks.
"Faye." He slapped her hand away.
"Does Elena know?" Faye asked them both.
Bonnie shook her head, "No, she doesn't."
"Tell me when you are going tell her, I wanna see her face when she knows her best friend has corrupted her little brother." Faye said with a grin, "I'll see you guys later." She then walked off, going to her class with Alaric.
__
The day went by quickly and Bonnie had managed to get the two Martin witches to have a sit down with her, Faye, and Stefan. They had come to an agreement to sit down at the grill where they would not be able to kill each other there.
"Thank you for coming." Stefan said to the pair of Martins.
"I didn't want to but my son made a case to hear you out." Jonas told him, gesturing over to his son.
Luka leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table in front of him, "Bonnie said that you have information about Elijah."
Faye looked at Bonnie then back at Luka, "Elijah's dead. I'm sorry." Luka and Jonas began getting up, but Faye stood up and grabbed their arm, "Hear me out. We can help you."
"We know that Klaus has your daughter. I'm sorry about the way I had to get that information, but it's good that we know. We can all work together to get her back." Bonnie said to them.
Luka narrowed his eyes, "How?"
"I suspect that you and Elijah had a plan to kill Klaus. Let us help you carry it out." Stefan explained to them.
Faye took a step forward and gave them both an honest look, "You can trust us. I give you my word. We all do."
__
"What you up to?" Katherine asked Damon, watching organizing the Gilbert journals.
"None of your business." Damon retorted, not looking up at her once.
"We're pouting now? Are those the Gilbert journals?" Katherine asked, not receiving an answer, "How am I supposed to help you if you won't tell me what you're up to?"
Damon looked up at her finally, "Can you tell me where a bunch of witches were massacred in this town a couple centuries ago?"
"No."
Damon gave her a snarky look, "Then you can't help."
Katherine tried to grab one of the journals, but Damon slapped her hand away. She punched his arm and he pushed her into a chair, hovering over her.
"If it's any consolation, I'm glad that you're not dead." Katherine purred. Damon just rolled his eyes and let her get up, "Emily Bennett told me about the massacre. It was a big deal in witch folklore. When a witch dies violently, they release a mystical energy marking the place of their death with power."
"Elijah wanted to know the site of the massacre." Damon informed her.
"What was he going to do when he found it?" She asked him.
He shrugged, "I don't know." He then sensed Faye and Stefan was in the boarding house, "What did papa witch and baby witch have to say?"
Faye groaned when she saw Katherine, "God, I thought you would have killed her already."
"For the last time, I'm here to help." Katherine told Faye, "Can we skip the secrets, hmm?"
Stefan spoke up, "Elijah had no weapon to kill Klaus but he believed that if a witch could channel enough power... They wouldn't need one."
"Like the power you get from a spot marked with a hundred dead witches?" Damon asked his brother.
Faye answered for Stefan, walking over and slinging her arm around Damon, "We just need to find it. But not tonight, it's girls' night. So, don't bother me with the supernatural stuff." She grinned before walking upstairs, going to pack her bag.
Katherine pouted, "Girls' night? Why wasn't I invited?"
__
Faye sat on top of the Gilbert kitchen's counter, shoving chips in to her mouth as her, Bonnie, Caroline, and Elena chatted.
"Chinese food or pizza?" Caroline asked them.
"Both." Faye said, earning looks from the rest of the girls, "What? I'm starving."
"You just ate all of my chips!" Elena exclaimed, looking at the girl in disbelief, "How can you be starving?"
"She's a bottomless pit, Elena. We've gone over this." Caroline told her friend, "I'll order it. Three boxes of pizza and five boxes of chinese."
"Oo. Make sure to get dumplings. I love dumplings." Faye said with a grin.
Caroline chuckled before pulling out her IPad. She unlocked and froze, seeing a picture of her and Matt. Bonnie sighed and walked over, taking it from her, "I'll do it."
"Do you believe that Jonas is being sincere?" Elena asked Bonnie.
Bonnie shrugged as she order the pizza, "I don't know what to believe. I think he's at a loss. He's not sure who to trust."
"Join the club." Elena muttered.
"Well, what are we going to do about this movie situation? What about "The Notebook"?" Caroline asked the girls.
Faye jumped up excitedly, "I've never seen it. Let's watch it." She stopped, "Wait, what is it about?"
"An epic romance between a poor, passionate boy and a rich girl. He gave her a sense of freedom, but they were separated by social differences." Caroline sighed, "It's the greatest movie of all time."
Faye scrunched up her nose, "Can we watch an action movie?"
"This is girls' night. If you want to watch an action movie, go hang out with Jeremy." Elena said, teasing her, "Anyways, Caroline, how many times have you seen that movie?"
"That is so not the point." Caroline replied.
"Well, yeah, I mean..." Elena began, stopping when she saw Jenna enter the kitchen, "Hey."
"What's going on?" Jenna asked.
"Girls' night." Elena answered her question.
"Oh."
"How are you doing?" Faye questioned. She knew that her and Alaric were on the outs.
Jenna sighed, "You heard about my fight with Ric."
"He feels terrible." Elena informed her aunt.
"Is this some kind of disguised attempt to cheer me up?" Jenna asked, looking between the four girls in the kitchen.
Elena shook her head, "No. No, this is about us girls hanging out and you know, we'll be here if you happen to want to talk, or..."
"Because I am a winner when it comes to successful relationships." Caroline muttered sadly.
Jenna sighed, "You too?"
"You have no idea."
"Okay, then." Jenna walked over and opened the fridge, "It's this whole Isobel thing. He's hiding something from me."
"To play devil's advocate, maybe there is a great reason why he's not telling you. Maybe he is just trying to protect you." Caroline told the older women.
"Well, that's not his call to make. I mean, I deserve the truth. Everybody does." Jenna responded.
Faye hopped off the counter and walked over to her, "Sometimes, it's harder than that."
"Not if it's somebody you care about, it isn't." Jenna looked down at her hands and suddenly there was a lot of tension.
Caroline broke it, jumping up and down happily, "You know what we need? Dancing. There is a band at the grill."
Bonnie smiled, "I'm in."
Elena, "In."
Jenna raised her hand, "In."
"Wait, I thought we were eating-" Faye held her hands up in surrender when she saw the looks she was getting, "Okay. I guess I'm in."
__
Faye walked in to the grill with the rest of the girls and Jenna's eyes went straight towards Alaric. Jenna sighed, "I need a drink." She walked away from the girls, leaving them alone.
Matt then walked by them. Caroline held her hand up, awkwardly waving, "Hey, Matt." He ignored her and walked on. Caroline frowned sadly.
"Things just got real awkward." Faye muttered.
"Gosh, why can't we just be okay for once? I want a normal happy relationship." Caroline said, looking longingly at Matt.
"You can, Care." Faye told her, "He did say the ball was in your court."
"Yeah, but I can't do anything about it." Caroline replied.
"Why not?" Bonnie asked, "All you do is talk about how much you care about him."
Caroline sighed, "Yeah, but I am still keeping so many secrets."
"Alaric's in the same boat with Jenna and maybe that's our mistake." Elena said, shrugging her shoulders, "We're trying to protect the people that we love by keeping them out of it, but in the end, we're hurting them anyway."
Caroline decided something as she spoke. She was going to win Matt back and be happy. She threw off her jacket and tossed into Faye's arms.
"What the- Caroline? What are you doing?" Faye asked, only to be ignored by Caroline.
The blonde vampire made her way up on to the stage and took the microphone off of the stand. The band stopped playing as she began to speak.
"Hey, everybody. Let's hear it for the band! Weren't they awesome?" Caroline side and the crowd erupted in cheers. She quieted them down.
She then inhaled heavily, "So there's this guy. And, uh, he told me to tell him how I feel about him. Like it's so easy. Um, you know, just 'cause I talk a lot doesn't mean I always know what I'm actually talking about. Ah, like now, I'm feeling loopy and I don't really know how to express myself." Caroline smiled nervously, "I can sing. Yeah! Yeah. You know what, I'm going to sing."
Elena's eyes widened, "Sing?"
"Oh, Caroline, if you can't sing and you embarrass yourself, I'm leaving." Faye muttered to herself.
The lead singer walked up to Caroline and tried to get her off the stage, but she compelled him. She then began singing 'Eternal Flame'. Faye smiled when she saw Matt place the bucket of dishes down to admire Caroline. Matt rushed on to stage and kissed her.
Everyone in the crowd cheered, clapping their hands and jumping up and down. Faye was screaming the loudest. She was a sucker for a true love story.
__
Faye was going to the bathroom so she could get a sip of the thermos of blood she had in her bag, but when she opened the door, she saw Matt and Caroline making out. Faye squeaked in surprise and reached to cover her eyes.
"I didn't see anything! I didn't see anything!" Faye said, blushing.
Caroline giggled as the hybrid backed out of the bathroom, "Sorry, Faye!"
Faye muttered a reply before rushing out, only to run in to Elena and Bonnie, who wanted in the bathroom, "I... I wouldn't. Caroline and Matt are..." She said, gesturing towards the door.
Bonnie's eyes widened, "In the bathroom?"
Elena sighed, "If they're happy, I'm happy."
"Um, hey, speaking of happy, would it freak you out if I started dating your brother?" Bonnie asked, making Faye jump up and down. She couldn't wait to see Elena freak out.
Elena's gaped at her friend, "You're into my brother?"
"I know it's weird, but he's been so good and strong. He makes me happy and I really can't tell what you're thinking..." Bonnie trailed off, examining Elena's face, "Right now."
"I'm thinking that..." Elena began and Faye cross her fingers, hoping for a freak out, "My brother has had more pain in his life than a hundred people's worth of pain, and... He deserves to be with someone as amazing as you."
Faye frowned, "Really? No freak out?"
Bonnie rolled her eyes at Faye and then smiled at Elena, "Thank you." She hugged the doppelganger tight while Faye pouted. She wanted a huge girl fight.
Elena's phone began ringing and she sighed, "My phone." She answered it and began walking away, "Hey, Stefan, I'm at the grill. I can't hear you. Hold... yeah."
Faye turned to look at the door and gasped seeing Jonas. She elbowed Bonnie before pointing at where Jonas was walking in, "What is he doing here?"
"Maybe to party." Bonnie said with a shrug.
Faye shook her head. She could sense something was wrong. She left Bonnie to go find Elena and ask her what Stefan had wanted. Bonnie herself walked over to Jonas.
"Dr. Martin? Are you okay?" Bonnie asked him.
Jonas turned to them, "Where is she?"
"I don't understand." Bonnie said with a frown.
"My son is dead."
Bonnie's heartbroke at the thought of Luka. She quickly realized that Jonas was here for revenge, "Whatever it is you think you need to do, there's a better way."
"They killed Elijah and they killed Luka and my only shot at getting my daughter back is if I have Elena." Jonas explained to his fellow witch.
Bonnie shook her head, "No. No, Dr. Martin."
Jonas thrusted his hand in to the air and the lights began breaking, "Where is she?"
"I don't know. I haven't seen her."
Jonas then broke the rest of the lights, knocking the power out.
__
Faye rushed in to the bathroom as Jonas and Bonnie talked, seeing Elena, Stefan and Caroline already there.
"Jonas is here. Why?" Faye asked, "Why are the lights out?"
"Luka's dead. Jonas is after Elena." Stefan said, giving her short simple explanation.
"Oh my god!"
Stefan sighed, "We have a plan, but I need to get Elena out of here."
"What can I do?" Faye asked, fully prepared to kill Jonas if she needed to.
"Distract Jonas."
__
Elena and Stefan walked out into the middle of the Grill and saw Jonas. Elena rushed over to him, "Dr. Martin! I'm so sorry about Luka. I never wanted that to happen, but... at least let us help you get your daughter back."
"Only Elijah can do that." Jonas replied.
"You don't need Elijah."
Jonas rose his hand and fire began to burn the bar of the Grill. He then turned back to Elena and Stefan, but Faye jumped on him. That gave Stefan and Elena the opportunity to escaped and they ran out. Faye tried to bite him, going in for the kill. Jonas threw her off with his magic, sending her flying back into the wall. He then used his magic to drive a leg of one of the broken chairs in to her stomach, causing her to cry out in pain.
Caroline saw this and rushed towards Jonas. He provoked a headache with his powers, sending her to the ground, screaming.
"Caroline!" Matt yelled out when he saw her. He ran over to Jonas and pushed him against the wall, "Get away from her!"
"Matt, no!" Caroline yelled out when the spell stopped.
Jonas retaliated and broke a bottle. He stabbed it into Matt's throat before leaving. Caroline gasped and rushed over to Matt. Faye ripped the wooden leg out of her stomach before following.
"Matt! Matt! Oh! Oh, my God!" Caroline panicked.
Faye placed a hand on her shoulder, "Just breathe Caroline... just breathe. Heal him!"
Caroline's face changed and she bit in to her wrist. She then shoved it in to Matt's mouth, his eyes widening when she did, "You have to drink. Please, please."
Matt did as he was told, drinking her blood. Faye stood up and checked her own wound, seeing it had healed, "Look, you handle Matt. I need to find Stefan and see what we're going to do about Jonas." She told Caroline before rushing out the Grill.
__
Faye arrived at the Gilbert home and opened the door, instantly meeting the faces of Bonnie, Elena, Jeremy and Stefan, Stefan rushed over to her, hugging her tightly. He had worried that she would be dead.
"What happened to you?" He asked her when he saw the blood stained shirt.
"Jonas likes to play rough." Faye said, pulling away from the hug, "He staked me, I lived though. What's going on now?"
Elena pointed towards Stefan, "He'll explain." She said before going upstairs.
"When did you guys get home?" Faye asked Jeremy and Bonnie.
"A few minutes ago." Bonnie answered.
"Did you check the house?" Faye asked next, worried that this was the first place Jonas would have gone when he left.
"And why would we check the house?"
__
Upstairs, Elena walked into the bathroom and looked in to the mirror. She saw Jonas behind her and he grabbed her. She vamped out and bit him, turning out to be Katherine posing as Elena. She tossed him to the ground and wiped her mouth.
Bonnie and Stefan arrived and looked at Jonas' body. Katherine smirked, "You're welcome."
"You didn't have to kill him!" Bonnie yelled.
Katherine nodded, "Yes, we did."
Bonnie walked closer and crouched down, stroking his face. Suddenly, Jonas grabbed her face and Bonnie screamed. Stefan reached over and snapped his neck, killing him.
__
Elena, Damon, and Faye were all down stairs talking together about the plan. Faye snorted when she heard it.
"How the hell did you guys convince Miss Prissy Pants to help out?" Faye asked Damon.
"We didn't. It was actually her idea." Damon told her.
Elena inhaled deeply, surprised, "Wow. That's... Not good."
Damon nodded his head, agreeing, "No. No, that's not good at all."
Katherine and Stefan then descended down the stairs and walked up to the trio. Stefan sighed, relieved that it was all over, "Everything's taken care of."
Katherine took off Elena's necklace and held it out to her, "I'm guessing you're going to want this back. But your pretty little outfit is going to need a good dry clean."
Elena took the necklace back, "You're going to have to get her out of here before Jenna gets home."
"Is that all you have to say to me?" Katherine asked her.
The doppelganger shrugged, "This doesn't change the way I feel about you."
"I don't much like you, either, if we're going to be open and frankly, I'd be happy to see you dead but if we're going to try to take on Klaus, we kinda need you to be alive." Katherine said, "So I'm not a threat to you, Elena. If any of you are going to believe anything, believe that." She began walking out, but Faye called out for her.
"Katherine?" Katherine turned around and looked at the hybrid, "If it means anything, thank you. You really
Katherine somewhat smiled. She hoped that Faye would be the one of all them that actually came out alive.
__
Faye brushed her hair out after she had taken a shower. She walked over to her bed and sat down on her bed. She laid the brush down on her bed side table. Faye's eyes met the photo sitting beside it. It was a picture of her, Stefan and Damon. She had dragged Stefan and Damon in to a photo because she wanted one of what she began to think of as her family.
Faye was in the middle of the two in the picture, smiling big. Damon was smirking, his arm around Faye's shoulder. Stefan was grinning, his head tilted so he could fit into the picture.
Faye giggled softly in remembrance. She was happy that she had them two because they were like her big brothers. She hoped that in this fight with Klaus that they all would live happily ever after in the end.
Suddenly, Faye felt eyes on her. She jumped up, tossing the photo aside. She walked out on to the balcony of her room and sniffed the air, trying to catch the scent of an intruder.
Nothing. Faye sighed, thinking she was just paranoid. She walked back inside, shutting the balcony doors and locking them, not knowing that the man she feared would kill them all was not to far away.

A/N: SO CLOSE TO KLAUS! Faye and him will butt heads when the first meet (actually meet). Faye and Klaus will not get together right away! So, don't get frustrated with me when Klaus and Faye are not screwing each other in a couple of chapters. Also, if you did not read my last author's note, please do. It's very important.
Next chapter: Isobel, the witch house, and Katherine betrays everyone.
