FOUR ▶ PLAN B

Faye threw herself out of bed when she heard the doorbell ring of the boarding house. She sighed and walked towards the door to her room, not worrying about putting clothes on. She only had on her underwear and a bra but she was comfortable with her body so it was okay. It was probably Damon or Stefan anyways and they've both seen her naked after she shifted back in to a human being man times.

The doorbell rung again, causing Faye to groan, "I'm coming you impatient idiot!" She yelled as she trudged down the stairs, running her hand through her messy hair. The doorbell rung again, "I'm fucking coming!" She swung the door open, coming face to face with a boy she had never met before. The boy took in her attire, his eyes widening.

"Who are you and what do you want?" Faye asked him. The boy stood there, still gaping at her, his eyes directly on her breast, "Hello? Did you lose the ability to talk after you rang the doorbell seventy freaking times?"

"U-um, wh-who are you?" The boy asked her, his eyes still on her boobs.

"I asked you first." She countered.

"J-Jeremy."

A smile spread across her face, "You're Elena's little brother." She stuck her hand out, "I'm Faye."

"N-nice to um meet you." He stuttered, still in shock from meeting her almost naked for the first time, "Is D-Damon here?"

Faye shrugged, "I don't know. Hold on." She turned around and looked up the stairs, "Damon! Jeremy's here!"

"Why is he here?" Damon asked as he waltzed in to the the front foyer, "Where are your clothes?"

"I don't know." Faye said, before turning back to Jeremy, "He's all yours."

"I need to talk to you." Jeremy told him.

Damon sighed, "And why do I need to talk to you?" He tried to slam the door on the Gilbert but Faye grabbed it, glaring at Damon.

"Tyler Lockwood has to kill someone to activate his curse." Jeremy said, "He's not a werewolf yet."

"Wow, fascinating. Not enough." Damon attempted to shut the door again. This time, Jeremy push back, keeping it open.

"But Mason Lockwood is and he's looking for a moonstone, a special rock connected to the werewolf legend." He replied, "That's why he's here."

Faye furrowed her eyebrow together, "A moonstone?"

"And I know where it is."

"And you're bringing me this why?" Damon asked him.

Jeremy shrugged, "Do I need a reason? Look, I just want to help, okay?"

"What's your sister say about this little discovery?" Jeremy didn't answer, causing Damon to smirk, "Oh, you haven't told her, have you?"

"Well, Elena doesn't want me getting involved in all this." Jeremy tried to walk in the house but was pushed out.

Damon sighed, "And you're a Gilbert and you just can't help yourself. Wow. Your search for life's purpose is as obvious as it is tragic."

"You going to let me in or not?" Jeremy asked and Damon opened the door all the way for him.

Damon turned towards Faye, "Go get dressed."

"Why?" Faye asked, "I'm fine."

"Well, I don't think Jeremy will be." He replied, seeing the teen's eyes still bulging out of his head at the sight of Faye.

Faye smirked before beginning to walk away, throwing Jeremy a wink. Jeremy almost fainted as she walked up the stairs. He gulped, "So that's Faye."

"Yep, that's Faye."

__

Faye sat on the couch next to Jeremy as they waited for Alaric. Jeremy was still awkward around her since he had seen her with only her underwear on but he wanted to know more about her.

"So, what are you?" Jeremy asked her, "Elena said you were a werewolf for ten years but here you are drinking blood." He gestured towards the blood bag in her hand.

"I'm both a vampire and a werewolf. A hybrid." Faye told him, "It's a really long story."

Damon walked in to the room and smirked, "It's actually not. A witch put a curse on her daddy, allowing him to procreate with his natural enemy, a werewolf. Faye came and she was a good kid until she turned eight years old. She turned in to a werewolf and was stuck like that until Stefan found her a month ago."

Jeremy frowned, "Wait, why didn't your parents try to find you?"

"I killed them when I shifted." Faye said sadly, "I didn't know what I was doing and the witch put these thoughts in to my wolf's head, saying to kill everything in my way that stops me from going in to the woods. My parents tried to stop me I guess and I ripped them to shreds."

"I'm sorry."

Faye shrugged, "I'm over it. It's not like I remember them anyways."

The conversation was cut short when Alaric walked in to the living room with a box of books. Faye turned to him and smiled, "Ric!"

Alaric looked at Jeremy, "What are you doing here?"

"Helping Damon and Faye. I'm the one who found out about the moonstone." Jeremy replied.

Alaric looked at Damon. Damon shrugged. Alaric then looked at Jeremy, "Does Elena know you're here?"

"Not exactly."

"What you got?" Faye asked as she stood up and walked over to him. She dug out a book and flipped through it.

Alaric gestured down to the box with his head, "This is Isobel research's from Duke. Her assistant sent it to me."

"Mmm, Vanessa. The hottie." Damon said, walking up next to Faye and taking the book. She growled at him, flashing her fangs. Alaric rolled his eyes before snatching the book from Damon.

"Vanessa, yes." Alaric said, "Now, do you remember the old Aztec curse she told us about?"

Damon nodded, "Sun and the moon, blah blah blah blah blah."

"An Aztec curse? Cool." Jeremy walked over to them.

"Yeah, supposedly vampires and werewolves used to roam freely until a shaman put a curse on them to limit their power. Since then, werewolves can only turn on a full moon and vampires are weakened by the sun." Alaric told them.

Faye wiggled her fingers in the air and smirked, "Except me." Damon did the same, showing his daylight ring, "Most of them, anyway."

"According to the legend, the werewolf part of the curse is sealed with the moonstone." Alaric handed Faye the book, showing her the Aztec curse map. Jeremy looked over her shoulder, examining it.

Jeremy frowned, "What do you mean sealed?"

"It's a witch thing, whatever seals the curse is usually the key to unsealing the curse." Damon told him.

"Maybe Mason Lockwood believes he can use the moonstone to break the curse." Faye said, handing the book to Alaric.

"If we start believing in some supernatural witchy-woo legend from a picture book, we're idiots." Damon turned to face Jeremy, "Who has the stone now?"

"Tyler."

"Can you get it?" He asked the Gilbert.

Jeremy nodded, "Yeah."

Damon grinned, "See, now your life has purpose."

"So, you do believe it?" Faye asked Damon.

"It's the same book that says a werewolf bite kills a vampire. Ignoring it would make me an even bigger idiot." Damon looked at everyone and sighed, "Let's go." He walked past the three of them and towards the door. Faye huffed before following after him, ready to get this over with.

__

Faye showed up and saw Stefan. She walked over to him with a smile but it soon turned in to a frown when she saw Mason.

"Hey, Stefan, Faye." Mason said to them in a bitter tone.

"Hey, Mason." Stefan replied. Faye didn't speak, she just growled at him, her wolf instincts telling her to rip his head off, Stefan had to hold her back from attacking.

Mason places the box down, shocked to see them both alive, "Wasn't expecting you here. Or anywhere."

"Yeah, we had this little accident. But we're fine now." Stefan told him.

"What did you do to Sheriff Forbes?"

Faye finally spoke up, "Oh, she's fine too, but from now on, you'll have to do your own dirty work."

"Not a problem." Mason walked away from them and accidentally ran in to Bonnie, "Excuse me."

Bonnie watched as the werewolf walked away from her. A strange look spread across her face, which Stefan noticed. Stefan and Faye walked over to her.

"What's the matter? Are you okay?" Stefan asked her.

Bonnie frowned, "When I touched him, I saw something."

"What do you mean? Like a vision?" Faye asked.

"I saw Elena."

Faye's eyes widened, "You saw Elena?"

"He was kissing her." Bonnie replied

"No, Bonnie, Elena wouldn't kiss..." Stefan considered it for a moment. His face changed from confused to understanding within seconds, "You didn't see Elena, you saw...Katherine."

__

Faye and Stefan met up with Damon to discuss what they figured out about Katherine and Mason. Damon frowned.

"Katherine's with Mason Lockwood?" He asked in disbelief.

"We missed it." Stefan told him, "He got into town right after she did. It makes perfect sense."

"I know, but Mason Lockwood?!" Damon scoffed, "Werewolf thing aside, the guy is a surfer. She's got to be using him. She has to be."

Stefan frowned, "Using him for what?"

"Mason Lockwood's looking for a moonstone that allegedly can break the full moon werewolf curse." Faye said, "Maybe Katherine wants it as well."

"Why?"

Damon shrugged, "Well... no idea. That's the beauty of Katherine; she's always up to something."

"So, how are we gonna find this moonstone?" Stefan asked.

"Jeremy is getting it from Tyler." Damon told him.

"Why would you involve Jeremy?" Stefan walked past Damon and slapped him on the arm. He continued to walk away.

Damon sighed, "He's playing Indiana Jones. He involved himself."

Stefan looked back at his brother and shook his head. Damon scoffed as Stefan continued to walk away. When he was gone, Faye looked over at Damon with a mischievous look in her eyes.

"Ready to kick some werewolf ass?" She asked him.

Damon smirked at the hybrid, "You're enthusiastic about being bad." He leaned down to whisper in her ear, "I love it."

She bit her lip, smirking herself, before walking away from him.

__

Jeremy walked up to Tyler, "Hey man."

"Hey!" Tyler greeted him.

"Hey, so I did a little research on that stone you showed me." Jeremy said, lying.

Tyler frowned, "What? Why?"

Jeremy shrugged, "I don't know. Curiosity, boredom."

"What did it say?" Tyler asked him.

"Well, it turns out that it's part of this Aztec legend but I want to make sure it's the same kind of stone." Jeremy told him, "You think I could check it out again?"

Tyler shook his head, "Nope. I gave it to my uncle."

"Why did you do that?"

"Because I'm done with legends and curses. I don't want anything to do with it, okay?" Tyler told him.

"Yeah, yeah sure. It's probably..." Jeremy sighed, "Just, uh, stupid folklore anyways. Forget it."

On the other side of the yard, Stefan, Damon, and Faye were all listening to the conversation. Damon and Faye seemed to be furious with the outcome but Stefan just shrugged it off and walked away. They both followed the youngest Salvatore.

__

Damon dragged Bonnie over to a private spot where they could talk. Stefan and Faye followed behind him and her.

"Okay. This is as far as I go." Bonnie said, yanking her arm out of Damon's grasp.

"Okay."

Bonnie scowled at him, "What do you want?"

"A favor." Damon replied.

The witch scoffed, "Like that's gonna happen."

"So predictable." Damon sighed before gesturing over to where Faye and Stefan were standing, "That's why I brought him."

"I know how you feel about helping us out, but since you're the one that linked Mason with Katherine, we finally have an opportunity to get an upper hand on both of them so, just hear us out." Stefan told her.

Faye pouted her lip, "Pretty please."

"I'm listening." Bonnie said.

Just as they were about to explain, Stefan's phone began ringing, "I have to fill Elena in on what's going on." He looked up at Damon, "Can you play nice, please?"

Damon shrugged, "I guess."

"Watch him." Stefan told Faye before answering his phone, "Hey, what are you doing? You shouldn't be calling me."

Elena sighed, "I know, but I have no idea what's happening. Damon's got Jeremy into something and you've got Bonnie with you and I'm sorting stupid masquerade masks for Mrs Lockwood."

"Alright, it's okay. Hold on." He walked away from where Damon, Faye, and Bonnie were chatting.

"All you have to do is touch Mason Lockwood again to see if he gave Katherine the moonstone." Faye told Bonnie.

Bonnie shook her head, "My visions don't work like that. I don't get to ask questions."

Damon groaned, "How inconvenient. Although, let's talk about that little witchy juju thing you do with me. You know, the fun one where my brain burst into flames? What is that?"

"That's me giving you an aneurysm." Bonnie told him, "Your blood vessels go pop, but you heal quickly; so, I do it over and over again."

"Is it vampire specific?" Faye asked her.

Bonnie shook her head once again, "It'd work on anyone with a supernatural healing ability."

"Werewolves heal fast." Faye informed them, "It'll work."

"I'm not gonna help you hurt him." Bonnie said to them both.

Damon sighed, "Mason Lockwood's a werewolf, Katherine's evil. They're the bad guys. Really? You're gonna play morality police with me right now?"

The Bennett witch didn't crack so Faye took it upon herself to say something, "Let me put it to you another way: they're a threat to Elena. So you, witch, are gonna get over yourself and help us."

Stefan walked back over to them, "Yeah, she meant that as a question with a "please" on the end."

"Absolutely."

__

Mason walked down the front steps of the Lockwood mansion and towards his Jeep, "Hey, can you move your van? I'm blocked in." He yells to the driver of the truck. He then noticed Bonnie inside the truck, struggling to lift up a antique table, "Hey, how did you get stuck doing that by yourself?"

"All the guys bailed. Something about draft picks." Bonnie shrugged, "I don't know, I don't speak that language."

Mason walked over to her, "Here, let me give you a hand." He grabbed the table and began to pull it out. Bonnie looked around and then looked at Mason. She began chanting a spell, causing an aneurysm for him. He clutching his head as he screamed out in pain, falling down to his knees.

"I'm sorry." She muttered to him as Faye walked past Bonnie and kneed Mason in the face. He fell to the ground unconscious. Damon walked over to Mason's jeep and opened the passenger side for Bonnie and also the back door for Faye. Faye pick pocketed Mason and tossed his keys to Damon before getting in the Jeep. Bonnie got in with her as Damon and Stefan threw Mason in the trunk. Damon then got in and they all drove off.

__

Damon walked in to the Salvatore boarding house with Mason thrown over his shoulder. Faye trailed behind him, carrying Mason's bag, with Bonnie next to her. Damon threw Mason in a chair as Faye threw his bag on to the table.

"Here's his bag. As requested." Faye told him.

"Okay, both of you, grab that corner." Damon said to Bonnie and her, gesturing towards the sheet he had.

Bonnie frowned as she picked it up, "Why are we doing this?"

"Because I don't want to stain the carpet." Damon told her.

She snorted as Faye rolled her eyes, "I knew you were gonna say something like that."

"Judging again." Damon said.

They all pulled the sheet over the rug, covering it. Faye then walked over to Mason's bag and unzipped it. She pulled out a bunch of chains. Her eyes widened.

"Woah." She breathed out.

Damon walked over to her and picked one of them up, "Looks like this guy's used to being tied up." Bonnie took Mason's head in her hands, causing Damon to frown, "What are you doing?"

"You're looking for a moonstone. I'm trying to help you find it." Bonnie replied.

Damon nodded, understanding, "Oh, good, yeah. Find out if he gave it to Katherine, and find out where she is. And find out what they're gonna do with it once they get it." He walked over and began tying down Mason with the held of Faye. Bonnie closed her eyes and concentrated as she tried to look through Mason's mind.

"Somewhere small. dark. There's water." Bonnie said after a while.

Faye frowned, "Like a sewer?"

Bonnie shook her head, "No. Like a well? That can't be right. Yeah. It's a well."

"Why would it be in a well?"

Bonnie lowered her hands and opened her eyes, "I told you, I only get what I get." Mason began to wake up, grunting in pain. He reached out and grabbed Bonnie by her wrist. She gasped. Damon rushed over and ripped Mason hands of her. Bonnie back away slowly, "That's it. That's all I got."

"Hey judgey!" Damon called out. She turned to look at him, "Thank you." She smiled at him before walking out of the room, leaving Damon and Faye alone with Mason.

Faye swung her hand and hit Mason in the face, "Come on. Wake up, pretty boy."

__

Faye leaned on the back of the chair as Damon heated up a fire poker. Mason was fully awake and was struggling to get out of the chair. Damon looked at him.

"Someone's feisty." He commented.

Faye rolled her eyes, "Don't be an ass, Damon."

Damon got up from his spot and walked over to Mason. The werewolf struggled even more, almost knocking back the chair. Faye got him and kept him steady.

"What?!" Mason yelled out. Damon didn't reply, he just stuck the hot fire poker in to his chest. Mason screamed out in pain.

"You can hurt, good to know." Damon said, "I was afraid you were gonna be some beast mass with no affinity for pain."

Faye pulled down Mason's collar and pouted, "Oh, but you heal quickly. Not good."

Damon smirked, "Guess I'll just have to keep applying pain." He walked over and heated up the fire poker once again.

"So... Katherine. How do you know her? What is she up to?" Faye asked as she circled around him. Mason spat on the floor but said nothing, "I have all day." She took the white hot fire poker from Damon and drove it though Mason's stomach. Mason gritted his teeth and screamed loudly.

Damon took the fire poker back, "That's my job." He walked back over to the fire place and began heating it, "When did you two meet?" He asked Mason," Did she seduce you, tell you she loved you? You're supernatural so she can't compel you. I'm sure she used her other charms. Katherine's good that way."

Jeremy walked in to the room with a box. He set the box on the table. Damon groaned at the sight of him, "I thought I told you to leave."

"I found something in Ric's box of stuff." Jeremy told him.

Damon grinned, "Ooh. What is it?" He walked over to Jeremy.

Jeremy took out a plant, "I did a search on my phone. It's a plant. Aconitum Vulparia. It grows in the mountainous areas of the northern hemisphere. Commonly known as aconite, blue rocket, and wolfsbane."

Damon oped the cloth it was in and looked at it, "What else did you read?"

"Well, every source says something different. One myth says it causes lycanthropy, which sounds bogus. Another one says that it protects people and another one says, well, it's toxic" Jeremy answered.

Damon got an idea and looked at Faye, "Faye, touch this." He held up the plant.

"No!" Faye said, shaking her head, "I don't want to."

"Stop being stubborn." He growled and walked over to her. He placed the plant on her cheek, causing her to scream out in agony. Damon pulled it away from her and smirked. Faye smacked him as she healed.

"You ass!" Faye yelled.

Damon shrugged, "Get over it." He then walked over to Mason and held up the plant, "What's Katherine doing in Mystic Falls?"

Mason didn't answer. Damon brushed the end of the wolfsbane plant across Mason's cheek. It began to burn, causing Mason to scream. Jeremy seemed to look uncomfortable as Faye stood there watching with her arms cross over her chest. Mason messed with her pack, he deserved this.

"Why is she here?" Damon asked Mason.

"She's here with me." Mason said, "Why do you ask, you jealous?"

"How rude of me. You know, I just realized, I didn't offer you anything to eat." Damon shoved the wolfsbane down his throat. Mason groaned in pain as he choked on the plant, "Yummy!" He stopped and Mason couched up the wolfsbane.

__

"Why do you want the moonstone?" Damon asked Mason.

"Screw you!"

Damon scowled, "Ahhh! Wrong answer!"

Faye was growing tired of this, "If he was gonna say anything, he would have already!"

Damon just ignored her, "I'm taking your eyes now."

"The well! You can find it there." Mason told him, panicking.

Damon threateningly held the wolfsbane up to Mason, "I know where it is. I want to know what it does and why you want it."

"I'm getting it for Katherine." Mason confessed.

"Why?"

"She's gonna use it to lift the curse." Mason continued.

"Of the moon?" Damon asked, "Now, why would a vampire help a werewolf break a curse that keeps them from turning whenever they want?"

Mason scowled at Damon, "So I wouldn't have to turn anymore."

"Why?"

"Because she loves me."

Then it hit Faye. Katherine was manipulating Mason for something. She didn't want to help in break the curse, she wanted the moonstone for another reason.

"Now - now I get it." Damon said, laughing, "You're just stupid. Katherine doesn't love you. She's using you, you moron."

"I'm done talking." Mason sneered.

"Yes you are." Damon handed Jeremy the wolfsbane and then looked at both him and Faye, "It's time to take a walk, both of you."

Faye shook her head, "I'm staying."

"No, you should go." Damon told her.

"We're staying, Damon. He's had enough." Jeremy said, agreeing with Faye.

Mason looked at Faye with pleading eyes, "Just help Tyler. Don't let this happen to him. And if it does, help him through it. Please." Faye nodded. Even if she didn't like Mason, she was going to help Tyler.

"Damon..." Jeremy said slowly.

Damon blurred over to Jeremy and grabbed him by the throat, "You wanted to be a part of this? Well, here it is! Kill or be killed! The guy is a werewolf; he'd kill me the first chance he got! So, you suck it up or leave." He let him go and Jeremy coughed, "He wants me to kill him, anyway. Don't you, Mason? It really is a curse, isn't it?"

Jeremy left but Faye stayed. Damon walked back over to Mason and sighed, "You know, I look at you I see myself. A less dashing, less intelligent version."

"I love her." Mason said truthfully.

"Oh, I know!" Damon exclaimed, "I've been where you are. But Katherine will only rip your heart out. Let me do it for her." Faye clenched her eyes shut as Damon ripped out Mason's heart. Mason's eyes went lifeless and his head fell down on to his chest. And it was all over.

__

Damon rolled up Mason's body in the sheet they had. Stefan and Faye stood on the sidelines, looking at the moonstone.

"All this for that?" Faye asked Stefan.

"Yep." Stefan tossed the stone to Damon, "I see you've exercised your usual restraint."

Damon just shrugged, "Had to be done." He took Mason's phone and sent a text to Carol on behalf of Mason, ""Carol, big opportunity in Florida, I'm gonna be gone for a long time. Will send for my things once I get settled. Much love, Mason""

"Let's get rid of the body." Faye said, nudging Mason with her foot.

"Oh, last number dialed. I wonder who that could possibly be?" Damon pushed redial.

Stefan attempted to stop him, "No, no, no! Don't provoke her!"

The other line answered, "Mason, you should have been here an hour ago."

Faye tried to help get Damon off the phone, but he pushed them both away. She growled at him and Stefan slapped his hand in frustration, walking away.

"Wrong boy toy." Damon replied.

Katherine clicked her tongue, "Damon. For once you've surprised me. I assume Mason is with you?"

"He's right beside me! Although, his heart's across the room." He told her smugly.

She sneered at him, "You shouldn't have."

"I've had a very busy day today. I killed a werewolf, found a moonstone. Hey, did you know that he hid the moonstone in the bottom of a well full of vervain? I guess he didn't trust you very much. Although, he did love you. Poor guy." Damon taunted, "Hey, where are you? Because, you know, I could bring him over. Last goodbyes and all that."

Katherine snarled, "You have no idea what you've just done."

"Aww, did I put a kink in your master plan? I'm so sorry." Damon fake pouted.

"Do you honestly believe that I don't have a plan B? And if that fails, a plan C, then a plan D, and... you know how the alphabet works, don't you? Send my love to Stefan." With that, Katherine hung up on him. Damon looked up at Stefan and Faye.

"We're screwed." Faye muttered, her eyes widening as she looked down at the phone in Damon's hand.

And she was right, they were utterly screwed.

__

Faye later learned that Katherine had compelled Jenna to stab herself. She was beyond furious. She actually liked Jenna and cared for her. Katherine definitely had a death wish.

While Faye was walking through the hall to get to the library, she heard the last few words of Stefan and Elena's conversation.

"Then let me say it. I've been so selfish because I love you so much and I know how much you love me. But it's over. Stefan, it has to be." Elena said.

Stefan seemed to be crying, "Elena, I..."

"Don't, Stefan. It has to be."

Moments later, Elena rushed out of the room, flying past Faye. Faye frowned before walking in to the room where Stefan was. She saw him sitting on the ground, crying. She slowly walked over to him and sat down on the floor. She wrapped her arms around the vampire. He leaned in to her, sobbing in to her shoulder.

"It's okay, Stefan." Faye whispered to him, "You'll be okay."
