FIFTY EIGHT ▶ ALL I SEE IS YOU
chapter fifty eight
❧ ❧ ❧
The doors of the Mikaelson mansion pushed open with ease when Faye had pressed her palms flat against them. She didn't knock, it wasn't necessary to. In Mystic Falls if you wanted something, you made an entrance and Faye needed information on the infamous vampire Katherine Pierce, everyone's least favorite doppelganger.
Elena's doppelganger was someone who from the beginning Faye wanted to bite a chunk out of. She had ruined the lives of her pack and now, the doppelganger had gained another bounty on her head. What she had done to Jeremy along with stealing the cure, it was almost a declaration of war on Faye's part. Katherine knew what she would do would cause the foundation of the supernatural in Mystic Falls to collapse.
She triggered a downfall for her own copy with no remorse. Elena had become a reckless emotionless vampire in a matter of two days because of what she had done. The Gilbert house had gone up in flames with Jeremy Gilbert inside due to "faulty wiring" as the news put it, but Faye Daniels had been there when the doppelganger dropped the match and burned her childhood home down. There had been no stopping her since everything they said could not create any emotion in her body and keep her from doing something she regretted. Not only that, Mystic Falls would have had three more dead bodies if Damon hadn't yanked Elena away every time she tried to sink her teeth into an innocent person.
Elena was pack, Jeremy was pack, and Katherine destroyed them both. She had hell to pay for messing with members of the Daniels pack and Faye was going to make sure it happened. Well, after she tracked her down and got the cure back.
Faye stepped into the front foyer without a word. Her presence was already loud and clear to the one person she needed to hear it. The click of her shoes against the tile echoed throughout the home as she ventured further in. It was until she passed the start of the staircase when a voice finally sounded, greeting her.
"You got here faster than expected, love."
Klaus appeared in the hall, leaving on of the rooms connected to it to stand in her view. He moved towards where she had stopped, leaving a good amount of distance in between them. A small smile was on his face in greeting that at first glance was normal, but Faye could tell it was tainted with stress.
"I was already on my way when you called."
He eyed her suspiciously, wondering if the reason she had come was good or bad. She crossed her arms over her chest and explained, "Damon said you've been talking to Hayley and she has information on Katherine."
"And how did the Salvatore hear of this?"
"You didn't exactly cover it up." Faye reached into her pocket and grabbed the folded paper she had tucked in there. Damon had someone gotten the messages of Klaus Mikaelson and Hayley Marshall. She didn't question it, she just took the paper and went to bat her eyelashes at Klaus until he gave her what she wanted.
The strawberry blonde flattened out the paper before shoving it in Klaus' face. He narrowed his eyes at it. There was a flash of annoyance in his eyes before he handed the paper back to Faye.
"So, Hayley," she said as she stuffed the paper back into her own pocket. "What's she got?"
Klaus crossed his arms over his chest and raised his brows at Faye. She couldn't tell the scoff he released was more joking than serious. "You barge in here thinking you could demand things from me and get what you want?" He asked her.
"First of all, you asked me to come here, Klaus and second, finding Katherine is top priority right now so I'm going to be a little demanding. She has the cure, which equals bad things for all of us. If she uses it, none of my friends get it and there's a couple who desperately want it," Faye explained easily to him. "You also told me you would help me find Katherine so I could kick her ass for what she did. I have the texts to prove it."
"I said I would help you find her to do that, not to get the cure back."
"Klaus..."
Her foot tapped impatiently against the floor, the look of irritation stretching across her face further and further which each second Klaus did not speak. He was having fun with this, she could tell by the way he grinned at how furious she was getting.
He gave in after a while and said, "I haven't gotten a word out of her. She's been bathed, fed, and clothed and she still refuses to inform me of Katerina's whereabouts."
Faye released an exasperated sigh. She had been hoping her trip to the mansion would have been quick; a get in, get out situation. She thought Klaus would have had the lead she needed and he would've handed it over without a problem, but no. Things in Mystic Falls were never quick and easy.
"So, you have nothing?" She asked him. Klaus attempted to respond, but she instead continued on speaking. "I thought you were good at intimidating people to the point where they give in? Now, you can't even get a werewolf to make a peep."
"That seems a little harsh for someone who needs my help, love," Klaus said, sounding offended.
"Oops."
He rolled his eyes at her sarcasm. "To my defense, I made a deal to protect her. My usual tactics would betray that deal."
"She's already betrayed the deal," Faye tried to convince him of going the easiest route she knew of. "You protect her in exchange for info, which she hasn't given. What harm could your usual tactics do now?"
"You know, I thought I would never see the day you would support torture and intimidation at my hand." An amused smirk made its way onto Klaus' face, directing right at the strawberry blonde. Maybe, if it had been a normal day, she would have flushed dark red at the gaze, but this was no normal day or a normal exchange. She was on a hunt, a very hard one to even start so it seemed.
"Me either," Faye responded, "but I'm kind of desperate."
"No need to be desperate for torture and murder," he said with his smirk still plastered on his face. "I have a better idea that may quite be up to your usual standards." Faye waited for him to explain, raising both of her brows at him. "You have the power to compel werewolves and Hayley herself, is one. You could easily get what we need out of her."
It was a reasonable solution to their problem, Faye thought, but there was an issue. "That could work if she's not on vervain already. After my last showdown with her, she probably got on some right away."
Klaus only shrugged. "It's worth a try, love. And if you do this, I'll give you what I know."
"What?" Faye's eyebrows raised high as her mouth gaped open. The revelation that he had known something about Katherine through all their bickering made her want to scream. "You said you didn't have anything!"
The Original hybrid jumped to his own defense quickly. "You assumed that. I only said Hayley would not provide me with anything," he said.
Faye pursed her lips tight, trying to control her anger. She wanted to strangle him, as per usual, but couldn't at that very moment. She needed him, for more reasons beyond Katherine that only her, Lacey and Caroline knew.
She inhaled deeply and stood up tall, attempting to have authority over the situation. "Tell me everything, right now."
"I think the proper word to use is please."
Inhale, exhale. She was trying to avoid murder as much as possible.
"Please."
He was pleased with her forced manner and spoke, "I had a run in with a vampire at a truck stop in the Boonies who may know where Katerina is." Faye perked up hearing what he had said, but she could hear the bad news coming as his tone dropped. "But, before knowing you may need the whereabouts of him, I bit halfway through his bloody neck. He probably won't have much time for chit-chat."
"You bit him," Faye took a dramatic pause, taking a step forward with her index finger raised at him, "without asking where Katherine was?" Her eyes were narrowed at him in anger.
"Contrary to popular belief, I don't always think before I act."
"Klaus!" Faye shouted his name as if she were scolding him. She ran her hand over her face. Everything seemed to be going wrong in Mystic Falls, which was usual, but this time was worse.
The gap Faye had placed in between them was filled by Klaus. He attempted to calm the anger he had created with his bad news. "It was a mistake that can be fixed once we get what is needed from the wolf girl. You will have your revenge and the cure will be in safe hands soon enough."
Silence drifted in through the air as Faye took in what he said. She bit down on her lip, wanting to rage more, but she knew there was no point. She pushed past it and let out a sigh.
"If Katherine shoves the cure down your throat before I find her, there's no one to blame but yourself."
"That will not happen on my watch or yours. You said so yourself no one was going to force feed me the cure if you had anything to do with it."
"Oh, shut up."
❧ ❧ ❧
The thought of seeing Hayley Marshall again did not create ferocity as it had before. After what had gone down between her and Tyler, Faye hated seeing her everywhere on the arm of her cheating ex. At the Miss Mystic Falls pageant, the hybrid had felt bitterness course throughout her at the sight of Hayley joking around with Tyler. There was nothing now except a small amount aggravation the werewolf girl made her feel for withholding what she needed.
Faye had an idea what had changed her and it was all at the hands of the man who waited patiently in the other room, listening in.
Hayley had stored herself away in a sitting room, curled up in a chair as she looked out a large window to the backyard. She seemed on edge, but at the same time, a bit peaceful. That was about to change.
Faye stepped inside and took one whiff of the air, trying to see how she would encounter the situation. The concern of whether or not she was on vervain was important. Klaus was sure she would be, but Faye was sure she wasn't.
As always, she was right. The stench of vervain came from Hayley herself, telling her in no shape or form would the original plan work. It left Faye few options, especially since there was a "no harm" rule for the woman in front of her.
Faye let out a sigh and decided to try the only option that may work with her. Making another deal.
"Hayley." The werewolf jumped at her name, turning around in her chair to look at who had entered the room. A flash of horror crossed her face at the sight of the strawberry blonde. She stood up from her seat quickly, eyes darting around the room as if she wanted to make a quick escape. That wouldn't work, they both knew it.
"Faye."
Her name passed Hayley's lips in an uneasy tone. There was no doubt that seeing the woman who had been with the man she had aided in cheating made the werewolf nervous. The last time Faye had interacted with her, she had a hand wrapped around her throat, fearing her own death. Faye was going to control herself this time around, but Hayley did not know that for sure.
"You remember me. Good," Faye said to her. "Didn't think I would see you back in town."
Hayley recovered from the initial shock and straightened herself to stand tall. She crossed her arms over her chest and held her chin a bit higher, trying to show the hybrid she wasn't afraid. Faye knew she was, by the fear in her eyes, but she put on a good show.
"Didn't think I would ever come back either, but here I am."
"I heard you have something that might help me track down a certain vampire who has the tendency to murder and betray everyone she meets," Faye said, cutting right to the chase. She didn't want to waste any more time than she already had.
"Yeah?" Hayley asked as if she didn't already know about it. "Who'd you hear that from?"
"Who else?"
"Did he also tell you the deal I made for my protection?"
Faye didn't like how cocky Hayley sounded as she spoke. The way she rubbed it in her face that she couldn't harm her, even if she wanted to, because of Klaus. "Could you not jump to conclusions that I'm here to beat information of you? I've already been informed I can't do that to you, so, what's going to make you talk?"
"When I know for sure that I'm safe, maybe I'll say something."
Everyone in that mansion was managing to irritate her. Her hair was going to be ripped out by the time she walked through the door to leave.
Faye clenched her jaw tight in aggravation. "Look, I can't wait for that," she told Hayley. "I need to find Katherine, now and you're the only one who has any idea of where she may be. What do you want in exchange for telling me all about her? Protection and hospitality obviously aren't enough."
Hayley did not say a word. She kept her lips tightly pressed together, being as stubborn as a mule. All she did was watch the hybrid's every move, as if she was waiting for her to jump and attack.
Faye took in a deep breath, repeating her action that she had done earlier to suppress her anger with Klaus. She needed to manipulate her into saying what she wanted, as terrible as it sounded. She didn't like doing it, but desperate times...
Faye licked her lips and cocked her head to the side. She narrowed her eyes curiously at the brunette before asking, "What did it take to get you to betray Tyler?"
Now, that hit a nerve. Not the right one, but it hit one. Faye saw her shift uncomfortably on her feet, glancing down at the ground. She saw a flash of anger in Hayley's eyes, but nothing still came from her.
"Blackmail?" Faye continued on. "Was someone you love threatened? Or was it like this here? You were looking for something and betraying Tyler meant you could get what you needed."
Oh, she could tell she was getting close. The more she spoke, the more Hayley revealed with her body language. She was looking for something definitely with the way she tried to dodge Faye's hard gaze when she said the words.
"What were you looking for, Hayley?"
No answer.
"Maybe I could help you find it. Object? Place? Person?"
"There's no point," Hayley finally broke, shaking her head. She tugged her bottom lip in between her teeth and darted her eyes to the ground.
"Why not?"
"They're dead."
Oh. Faye felt her own tinge of sadness for the werewolf, along with guilt that she felt for pushing her to confess it.
"Do you know anything about the person?" Faye spoke softer to her now, the stern voice she had been using disappearing.
"People," Hayley corrected, finally looking back up at Faye. "And not much. I know they were from New Orleans, had the last name Labonair, and that they're dead."
"My aunt has a lot of connections in New Orleans, you know," Faye told her. "She could help you find out about them, maybe help find a grave."
"For a price, though. Right?" There was a taste of bitterness to the werewolf's tone.
If this were anyone else, Faye would've helped her out of the goodness of her heart. This was Hayley Marshall, though, the current bane of her existence and also, the woman Tyler cheated on her with. There was no goodness in her heart that she deserved. Besides, she did not come there to do charity work.
Faye stepped closer to Hayley, this time without her moving back. She stood up straighter and began, "In exchange for what you know about Katherine, you get to sit down with my aunt and have a chat about what you want to know." She reached out her hand after explaining, wanting to shake on what she proposed if accepted. "Deal?"
Hayley was hesitant to shake Faye's hand. She eyed it suspiciously, wondering what the deal would mean for her. "When you're done with me, what happens? You track me down to tie up your loose ends?"
"What do you take me for? As much as I don't like you, I don't like to kill people. Mess em' up a bit, yeah, but I already did that to you for what you did." Hayley still was wary, even after what Faye had said. "You leave when you get what you want from her and then, that's it," the strawberry blonde told her, being honest.
Hayley's eyes flickered between the hybrid's hand and her face. "I don't trust you."
"I don't trust you either, but as long as you give me what I need, we'll all be okay." Faye still kept her hand held out, waiting for her to take it. "It's either this or you can go face Katherine's lackeys again."
That was all it took to get Hayley to finally take Faye's hand and shake. "I'll take it."
"Good. Now, spill."
❧ ❧ ❧
Everything was finally falling into place. Damon was on his way to deal with the bitten vampire at a trucker stop after Klaus had provided his whereabouts, Hayley was on her way to Lacey's for her side of the deal to be fulfilled after giving Faye the full story on the elder doppelganger's underground network, and Faye was already closer to wringing Katherine's neck.
"Did you hear all that?" Faye asked Klaus when she stepped up next to him. Hayley was already making her way out the front door of the mansion, a slip with Faye and Lacey's address on it n hand. Once the door had shut, Klaus spoke up.
"Indeed I did," he responded.
"Alright, good." Faye patted his shoulder before moving to stand in front of him. She gave him a pleasant smile. "You're gonna have to follow up on it yourself."
Klaus raised his brows at her. The was a slight turn to the corner of his lips, a telltale sign that he was teasing her. "I thought searching down Katerina was going to be a team effort?" He asked, referring to their phone call in the previous days where she had pleaded for him to work together with her and help.
"It will be," she told him, "but it's going to have to be a Klaus effort for now. Stefan's going to need my help with Elena now that Damon's going to get the guy you bit."
"The Salvatore can handle an emotionless baby vampire."
He waved his hand at her, dismissing what she decided had become a priority for her. Faye didn't respond. She only turned on her foot, offering him a soft goodbye. The strawberry blonde began making the steps to leave until Klaus' voice drew her back.
"Or was that just an excuse?" The question left Klaus, causing Faye to stop in her tracks. Faye pivoted to glance at him, her eyebrows furrowed together in confusion.
"I'm sorry?"
"I feel as if you may be avoiding me, love."
"What?" Faye shook her head, not understanding. "Why would I be avoiding you?"
"Well, we did share a marvelous exchange the other night, one you initiated or had you forgotten-"
It was a reasonable answer, if she had actually been doing what she had been accused of. She wasn't avoiding him, which was surprising considering Faye used to be appalled for even thinking Klaus may have had something redeemable about him. Now, she was kissing him with no problem, and dare she say it, was in love with him.
"I'm not trying to avoid you. It's just..." She trailed off, trying to find the right words to say. Faye brushed back her hair with one hand and let out a sigh. "I've been a little preoccupied with everything going on, you know. Trying to get this Katherine stuff all over with so I can sit down and relax."
Slyly, Klaus slung his arm around Faye's shoulder, moving to stand next to her. He looked down at her with a small smile on his face. "Why not stay then, love? We'll follow up on what Hayley said and then you could stay for dinner and relax..."
The proposition sounded good to her. She desperately wanted to stay, enjoy a break and spending time with Klaus that wasn't hopefully going to be infested with aggravation. It wasn't right to take time to be selfish with so much going on, though.
"I don't know..." Faye trailed off, biting down on her lip. "There's so much going on right now. I can't just butt out. What if something happens and I'm not there to handle it?"
"Your Scooby gang will be fine for a few hours. There's not much trouble they can get into right now," Klaus said, trying to convince her. "Besides, you will be not be completely abandoning everything. You will be helping me more with the Katerina situation."
Faye thought about it for a moment. Stefan may have needed her, but Klaus needed her to help with hunting Katherine. She had a good reason to take him up on his offer and she was sure the Salvatore would understand.
"Okay, but I can only stay to help with the follow up. Don't know when Stefan might need me."
It wasn't the answer Klaus had been wanting, but they both knew she could be swayed. There was a mischievous look in his eyes as he guided her to another part of his home, already planning on how to convince her to stay. Little did he know she was already debating it.
❧ ❧ ❧
A groan escaped Faye's lips as she titled her head, looking up at Klaus. She sat beneath him on the ground, her legs pulled up so she could rest the laptop on them. He sat on the couch above her, tucked away into the corner with the computer in his lap, typing away. She wasn't typing as she refused to anymore.
"How many more people do we need to send emails to?" The strawberry blonde asked him.
She hadn't expected following up would include Klaus and her sitting in the same spot for hours. She had thought it would be much more exciting, and typing the same message to look for Katherine Pierce or the list of those associated with her over and over again to his connections across the globe was not exciting.
It wasn't terrible, seeing as Klaus was there to share her pain and to keep her company, but it was not the best time she had ever had.
There was single, loud click of Klaus' mouse before he finally shut his laptop. "Last one has been sent."
"Thank the lord," Faye moaned out, repeating Klaus' actions with the computer in her own lap. "Why so many emails? Do you really need the whole world looking for Katherine?"
His brows furrowed together as he glanced down at her. "I'm sorry, do you want Katerina to be found quickly or not?" The sarcasm seeping through the question was too obvious to miss.
Faye huffed at him and rolled her eyes. Without a response, she grabbed the laptop and stood up from her crouched spot. She placed the laptop on the coffee table in front of her before stretching out. She didn't face Klaus as she did so.
"Though, it was a good thing you stayed and helped share the load," Klaus said, still in his own spot. "I would have been piled in it if you hadn't."
"You're welcome by the way."
He scoffed as he stood up himself. Klaus placed the laptop he had right besides hers, reaching around Faye. He kept his place once he was done, standing besides her."Don't sound as if I don't appreciate your help. If you had given me the chance to thank you, I would have told you there's a nice hot meal waiting for you."
An amused smirk made it's way on to her face hearing so. She turned to look at him, her hands placed on her hips. Faye raised her brow at him. "You went ahead and ordered dinner, assuming I would stay?"
"I didn't think it would be a problem," he told her with a simple shrug. "I thought you would be famished after all that hard work and assumed that Stefan could handle Elena for another hour or two as we dined."
She figured out his play; he was giving her no choice but to stay. It would be rude to turn him down and Faye used to be the one for turning him down, but that was long ago. Now, she wouldn't dare and she wasn't going to. It gave her a perfect excuse to stay behind, but she wouldn't let him know that.
"Really?"
"Yes."
She let out a sigh, one that was heavy. but obviously fake. She titled her head and look him straight in the eye. "Well, in that case, what's for dinner?"
Klaus beamed. He once again went to guide her to another room, this time his hand placed on her lower back. They abandoned the parlor room and moved down the hall to the same room, months ago where she had engaged in her first dinner party with him. It was much different now. They were alone, Elijah, Damon and Stefan's presence missing and the hostility between them, gone. That dinner had ended up with him being stabbed by his siblings; Faye hoped this one would not end up that way.
He stopped them both once they were there, allowing her to take in the sight. The table was already set; plates piled high with food that looked savory and two glass of what smelled like wine, but could be easily mistaken for blood. It had to have taken work, work that was obviously not done by Klaus Mikaelson since he had sat there behind her, typing away to send out emails.
Klaus removed his hand from her back and stepped around her to get to the table. He pulled out on of the chairs for her, gesturing towards it. Faye walked over to him and made the move to sit. She muttered a soft thank you to him as she looked out at the food placed in front of her. It looked even better close up.
"I'm impressed," Faye said, pursing her lips in approval. "This is nice."
"Would you expect any less?" Once she sat down in the chair, he rounded the table to get to his own seat. He took his place across from her as she responded.
"From you?" She quirked a brow, "Not really. You have the tendency to go 'all or nothing'."
Klaus chuckled as he reached out to grab the glass of blood like wine. "Dine in style or don't dine at all," he said, raising the drink.
The strawberry blonde grabbed her own and mimicked his actions. "That's one way to think of it."
They clinked their glasses together, the sound echoing throughout the room, starting off the dinner with pleasant grins. Their eyes connected as they took a sip, peering over the glasses at each other. Without hesitation, once the wine was sat back down, Faye dug right in.
❧ ❧ ❧
The dinner went well, considering it was more silent. The time was spent more eating than chatting, thought there were a few comments here and there about the general happenings of Mystic Falls. Faye was too busy scarfing down the food to want to even talk.
She wiped her mouth clean of any sauce before dropping the napkin on her clean plate. A content sigh escaped her, earning an amused look from Klaus. "That might have been the best food I've ever eaten," Faye told him. "Did Lacey cook this? She had to. There's nothing better than her cooking."
"I'm glad you enjoyed it, love."
Faye bit her lip, the tiniest bit of smile on her face. "So, how're you?" She asked him.
"I'm doing well."
"Are you handling what happened any better?"
It went unsaid, but Klaus knew what she meant. His eyebrows furrowed together and his lips formed a thin line on his face. His eyes glazed over with pain for a moment, staring off at something other than her.
"I would rather not discuss that," Klaus told her in monotone, trying not to let the emotion seep through.
"That's fine." Faye nodded, understanding. She regretted even bringing it up at the look on his face, trying to quickly get the subject changed. "What is on the table for discussion?"
With that, his mood shifted to something mischievous. He leaned forward on his table, propping his elbows up. He clasped his hands together in front of him before resting his chin on them. "There has been this thought bugging me for quite awhile..."
"Hit me with it."
"You kissed me. Why?"
Faye had expected for that to come up. Ever since he had brought up how she had kissed him in his accusation of avoidance, she knew he would bring it up again.
"Because I wanted to," she told him honestly. There was no other reason to it. Her kiss was driven by impulse, the only thought running through her was to kiss the man who had just confessed that she made him good.
"Really?" There was mock disbelief in his voice.
"Yeah."
The male hybrid rose to his feet. He moved away from his spot and made his way halfway around the table. "Now, what are we going to do about that?" Klaus asked her, looking down at her.
Faye shrugged as she stood up herself, feeling not very on level with him. "There's not much to do about it." She took one step towards him and crossed her arms over her chest. "It happened, I liked it and I don't regret it."
"You also are forgetting something very important." He mimicked her, bringing them closer. Faye raised her brows, inviting him to tell her what she had been leaving out. "You said that we should do it again sometime."
"Did I? I can't really remember. You see, I have amnesia because of a curse..."
"Love..."
Faye released a short laugh at the face he was giving her, silently asking if she were serious. She soon gave him the answer the he wanted, biting her lip.
"I meant it when I said it."
At the words, Klaus took another step forward, pressing his chest close to hers. He peered down at her, eyes flickering towards her lips. She felt like she almost couldn't breathe, air caught in her throat.
Faye had been in situations like this with him before, their bodies pressed close, him looking down at her. Most of the times it had been out of anger, in a fight of some sorts where she was trying to protect Damon or Stefan from him. None of them were like this though. None of them made her feel this way, or it had, but she had never noticed before possibly due to the annoyance rising in her when he put them in such situation. She really wanted him to kiss her now more than ever.
"Is now a good time to do so?" Klaus' tone was low, almost seductive if Faye knew any better.
"Up to you," she breathed out.
Klaus was the one to initiate the kiss this time, it being one of the few things different from their first. He cupped Faye's cheeks and dipped down to press his lips against her, pulling her up towards him as he did so. They met halfway, Faye standing on the tips of her toes to reach him.
It was passionate, much like the first one. The two kisses she had with him were not like anyone she had before. She felt bad for doing so, but in her head, she compared him to the others. Tyler had been her first; sweet and boyish at time when it was a kiss goodbye or a hello and hot and rough the next when they made out. The second had been the guy Faye had met at the Whitmore party; Hayden. It was kiss with only attraction behind it, no feelings, just lust that soon ended from guilt. They did not compete well with the ones she shared with Klaus.
The kiss deepened as each second passed by. Tongue had been added, something that happened without her registering it, but accepting anyway. Klaus let his hands roam to her waist, pulling her even closer than before. Faye finally moved her own, placing one on the side of Klaus' cheek and the other on his shoulder.
The tension in the air was rising and Faye was starting to see what Caroline would go on and on about during their sleepovers. Klaus and her had sexual tension you could cut with a knife. Even from a simple kiss, it was created and it burned with desire.
Faye didn't want it to just be tension anymore. A year ago, she would curse herself for even thinking of Klaus in such way, but now she didn't care. She just wanted him closer to her than he had ever been before.
They were too the point where Faye would almost consider their kiss a make out session, but then Klaus, broke the kiss. He pulled away, taking in a deep breath of air. He didn't make the move to release her or move out of her own hold.
"Out of breath?" She asked him.
"I thought you needed to go help the Salvatore?" He responded with a question of his own. There was another mischievous gleam in his eyes as he asked her, poking at her again, wondering why she was continuing it so much knowing she had other things.
He was right, though, she probably did need to go help him. There wasn't really any no time to get what she wanted. With Elena, Katherine needing attention, Faye didn't have time to make out with men.
Fuck that.
She had spent the past year or two fighting against enemies, pushing aside the things she needed and wanted so she could protect everyone; her pack. For once in her life, she was going to be selfish.
"You said it yourself," she looked up at him with hooded eyes, her hands moving to rest on the back of his neck, "Stefan can handle Elena," she said, telling him exactly what she wanted without saying it outright.
"Are you sure?"
"Shut up and kiss me."
Faye pulled him down, locking their lips roughly. Within an instant, they went from what her blonde vampire friend would consider "home base" to "first". His hands were sent to roam, moving along every curve of the strawberry blonde's body. He tried to take his time, experience everything, but that wasn't flying with the female hybrid. She was impatient and they could take their time later.
She broke apart their kiss to grab onto the collar of his shirt. In one clean swipe, she tore it open, exposing his skin. Faye pushed it off, placing her hands directly on his bare chest. His reaction wasn't immediate, but it had triggered something inside of him.
Klaus' actions were almost animalistic as he ripped away her shirt, earning a gasp. He silenced it by pressing ferocious kiss on her lips. Then his hand returned back to roaming, only this time finding a spot to stop at.
He placed his hands on the back of her thighs, pushing her legs up. Faye understood what to do and jumped, wrapped herself around his waist. Neither of them pulled away as Klaus sped them over to the wall. Faye slammed against it harshly, but she was too entranced to care. He gave her the support she needed to stay up, but then moved his lips away from her own to somewhere else.
With one hand stabilizing them on the wall and the other buried in her hair, Klaus peppered kisses all along her jaw. Faye let out a gasp as he nipped at her skin, her nails scraping against his own neck. He got lower with each love bite he left. They all healed in an instant, but he was soon there to make more.
Faye's eyes were shut in bliss, only one thought running through her head: finally, it was happening. After the fights, the tension, the leering; they were giving each other the desire they never spoke of. She was finally getting what she needed.
❧ ❧ ❧
Waking up in a different bed was odd for her, especially one she didn't recognize at first thought. Silk sheets and a luxurious mattress didn't match any bed she had been in, but her and Klaus' scent mixed in with what smelled like sex gave it away.
Faye blinked once or twice, her vision bleary as she came to. She sat up slowly, rubbing at her eyes. Her eyes finally became clear and she took in the sight around her.
The room was a mess and so was the bed. Klaus was beside her, snoozing, because even immortal hybrids do get worn out after hours and hours of working their body hard. He was naked, it being hard not to notice. She was naked too.
She tried to run her hair through her matted hair as she began to realize that what her and Klaus had shared had not been a dream. That had really happened; several times in fact.
For a second, she was calm, replaying what had happened over in her head. The dining room, then the drawing room, then the room they were now in, which she had assumed was his room when they stumbled in, five times.
Then, it hit her. That actually really fucking happened. She had just had sex with Klaus. The man she used to try and murder. The man who killed her boyfriend and her friends. The man she somehow ended up falling in love with after everything. How did her life end up here?
Faye was internally freaking out. She didn't regret it; oh not at all. She couldn't regret something so wonderful in her life. She enjoyed every second of it and would love to do it again, but everything was overwhelming her.
It wasn't something she had expected to happening so soon. It seemed with each realization or monumental moment she had with Klaus, there was another a few days later. There was no taking it slow in this relationship, which was brought up the other question of what were they now. There were obvious feelings there for both of them, but aye didn't know if he loved her like she loved him. So, where did that leave them?
And if it left them somewhere good, what was next? Going public? Oh, god, her friends would hate her. Maybe Caroline would be fine since she had been rooting for dreamy bad guy since the start, but the rest of her pack would flip. Though they all knew she had feelings for him, she didn't think they would have ever expected her to act on them, especially not this much.
She needed to go, even though she so desperately wanted to stay and sleep only to wake up later and engage in more hot hybrid sex. That would only make things worse for her as it would bring more unanswered panicked questions. She needed to talk to Lacey, get everything out to her as if she were her own personal therapist and then possibly return.
In her head, Faye silently formed an escape plan. She needed to get out to her car, fully dressed with her stuff without Klaus waking up; which would hopefully be easy for her with the experience she had. Through her years in the woods, Faye had learned the art of sneaking around. Catching prey was hard when you couldn't walk as quiet as a mouse. She used her skills to slip out of bed and make her escape without Klaus noticing.
The Daniels girl felt bad for doing so, but she promised herself to explain to him later and make it up to the Original.
The two things she needed were her bag and clothes to wear back home. Her bag was in the front foyer, having been sat there when she first arrived. She could easily grab that on the way out.
Clothes were a different story. The ones she had been wearing were torn to pieces in the ding room, much like Klaus' own. She would have to take some from Klaus and return them at a later date.
Faye quietly rummaged the room for clothes, making sure Klaus was still asleep after each move she made. She went to his dresser where she assumed his clothes were stored and pulled open the top one. She luckily found shirts, stealing one right off the top and then going to another drawer for pants.
From there on out, she did everything with inhuman speed. Faye dressed in under five seconds and made her way out the room. She went to the dining room next, grabbing the shoes she had kicked off, the only things that hadn't been torn. Then it was to the front foyer where she grabbed her back without even looking and successfully exited the mansion.
By the time Klaus woke up, she was already out the driveway without a word said.
