FIFTEEN ▶ NO RELAXTION

Faye wanted nothing more than to have a day of rest. She barely got a wink of sleep anymore, feeling like someone was watching her. She also wanted a day where she could sit down and not worry that any second, Klaus may come in a rip her heart out from her chest.

Faye felt like today was that day. She was already curled up in her bed, the blanket wrapped around her so you could only see her face. The Avenger's were fighting with the Chitaurians on the screen and Faye was watching with anticipation. It was her first time watching this movie and she wanted to see the ending. Honestly, she hoped Loki would win.

The hybrid shoved popcorn in to her mouth, watching as Natasha Romanov kicked alien ass from left to right. She was watching Tony Stark fly around, saving the world when her phone began ringing. Faye paused the movie with a groan, knowing that her relaxing time had come to an end and she would have to see who won the battle later.

__

"So, why the hell did Isobel show up?" Faye asked as she talked with Elena in the Gilbert home, "We called her a month ago and now she shows up, when we have mostly everything under control."

"I would tell you if I knew. She kept saying she needed to speak to me." Elena replied, running a hand through her long hair.

"Here's an idea! How about I have a chat with her first then you can come back ad chat to her headless corpse." Faye suggested, being completely serious.

Elena shook her head, "We're not killing her."

"We could. No one would know." Faye said. Elena gave her a pointed look, "Look, she needs to go. She waltzes in, acts like she runs this shit, ruins everything you and Alaric had with Jenna. She is literally at the top of the kill list at the moment, right behind Klaus and Katherine."

"We're not killing her, Faye. She's still my mother and no matter what, you don't kill family." Elena told her. Faye felt a pang in her chest and Elena had realized what she had said, "Oh my gosh, Faye. I'm so-"

Faye waved her hand, "It's fine, you didn't mean it like that." She sniffed the air, catching the familiar scent of bourbon and old books, "Alaric's here."

Alaric walked in, looking around anxiously. Elena had called him first and then she called Faye because she hoped that she had a trick up her sleeve that could make Jenna feel better.

"Hey. Is she up yet?" Alaric asked the girls.

Elena shook her head no, "She won't come out of her room."

"What'd you tell her?" Faye questioned, wondering herself. How did this girl explain that Isobel, Alaric's dead wife and Elena's biological mother, was on her doorstep?

"Nothing. She won't talk to me." Elena answered.

Alaric huffed, stressed out about this whole situation, "We're gonna have to fix this, Elena."

Jenna began descending down the stairs, rushing to get out of the house. She did not want to face the two biggest liars she had ever met in her life.

"Hey." Elena muttered softly.

"Jenna..." Alaric began.

She cut him off, "I don't want you here, Ric. You need to go."

Faye took a step forward, holding her hands out, showing she meant no harm, "Okay, listen. I can't begin to imagine what you must be feeling right now."

"Rage and betrayal would pretty much cover it." Jenna snapped bitterly at the red head. She wondered if the teenager had knew Isobel was alive. Jenna didn't bother asking. Instead she began putting on her jacket and grabbed her bag.

"Where are you going?" Elena asked her aunt.

Jenna sighed, "I'm going to stay on campus. I have a thesis to write, and I don't want to be in this house"

"Jenna, please just stop. Let us explain to you exactly what is going on."

The older woman ignored Alaric's pleads, "Elena, I need you to go to the Lockwood's today and accept the historical society's check for your mom's foundation."

"Okay, but, Jenna, please just..." Elena was cut off.

"I don't have it in me to hear any more lies from you." JEnna opened the front door and began walking out.

"Jenna, just..." Jenna slammed the door shut.

John walked out of the kitchen, looking smug, "Let her go. It's better that she's not here, what with everything that's going on but maybe had you been a little more honest with her from the beginning, this..."

Alaric walked over and drove his fist straight in to the older Gilbert men's noise. Faye gasped, her hand flying to her mouth. She laughed as she watched the blood begin to flow from John's nose.

"Sorry, Elena." Alaric mumbled before leaving the house.

Elena smirked at John who was clutching his nose, "You know this is your fault, right?"

"Right."

"I can't find him anywhere. He's not at home. He's not answering his phone." Caroline told Faye over the phone. She was on speaker since it was Faye, Stefan, and Elena in the room. Faye thought they should hear what was going on.

Faye sighed, frustrated, "How could you let him go?"

"My mom walked in. He took off. I didn't know what to do." Caroline replied, sounding worried and stressed.

"Did your mom hear anything?" Stefan asked the blonde vampire.

"No. She just thinks we're fighting but he knows about me, and he's freaking out about Vicki." Caroline was completely panicking, Faye could tell.

"All right. Listen." Faye began, "You have to find him. You have to calm him down. Compel him if you have to. Is he still on the vervain?"

"I slip it into his soda when he's at work, but I didn't get to last night, so it's out of his system." Caroline sighed on the other line, "He has a catering shift at the Lockwood's' today. I'm gonna try there."

"Okay, keep me updated."

They both hung up the phone and the trio sitting in Elena's room sighed. So much for a relaxing day, Faye thought.

"Ah, this is bad. Between Isobel and Jenna and now Matt, this is disaster bad." Elena groaned, hiding her face in her hands.

"Yeah." Stefan agreed.

John walked in to the room and looked at his daughter, "Elena, can you come downstairs, please? I need to talk to you."

Elena scoffed, "I have nothing to say to you."

"Please. It's important. You, too, Stefan, Faye." John told them. They all got up and made their way downstairs. Isobel walked out of the kitchen when they entered.

"I asked John for a do-over." Isobel informed them.

Elena's eyes widen as she looked over to her father, "You invited her in?"

"Elena. I'm going to do the plan, minus the chatting." Faye said before her face changed and she lunged. Stefan grabbed her by the waist, holding her back from Isobel.

John tried to calm everyone down, "She has information about Klaus. Please, just listen to her, okay?"

Faye slowly calmed down, glaring at Isobel. She pushed passed her, going in to the kitchen, "You got five minutes before I detach your pretty little head from your body."

John, Elena, and Stefan followed Isobel and Faye into the kitchen where they stood around the table.

"You're just like your mother." Isobel said as she looked at Faye.

"If you're trying to butter me up because you know my parents, it's not going to work." Faye told her, "Tell us what you know."

Isobel sighed before speaking, "Since I was last here, I've been doing everything possible to find Klaus. We knew our best chance was to find him before he could find you."

"Best chance of what?" Stefan asked.

"Keeping Elena alive." John answered for Isobel.

"You don't get to talk, okay, not after everything you've done." Faye growled at John.

"Were you able to find Klaus?" Stefan asked Isobel.

"No. Nobody knows where he is but there are these rumors that are flying around. That a doppelgänger exists." Isobel replied.

"Which means any vampire that wants to get in favor with Klaus will be lining up to capture you." John said.

Elena scoffed, shaking her head, "I'm not buying any of this." She turned to look at Isobel, "The last time that you were here, you made it clear that you didn't give a damn about me. Now all of a sudden I'm supposed to believe that you want to help?"

John jumped to defend her, "Isobel's been helping all along. Klaus has been obsessed with finding Katherine for centuries. All it would take was any one of those 1864 tomb vampires to spread the word around that Katherine was still alive and it would bring him straight here to Mystic Falls, where you were bound to be discovered, so we killed them."

"And almost killed Stefan and Damon in the process." Elena retorted.

"I have a safe house that I can take you to. The deed is in your name. No vampires can get in without your permission, not even me." Isobel moved towards Elena, "Let me help you."

Elena let out a bitter laugh, "You wanna help? Then get the hell out of my house."

__

Damon, Elena, Faye and Stefan were all in the library of the Salvatore boarding house, discussing what Isobel had said.

"Do you really think that Isobel's telling the truth that word's gotten out about the doppelgänger?" Elena asked the trio before her.

"Look, I don't trust a word that she says, but I think we'd be stupid to ignore the warning." Stefan said and Faye agreed. Elena needed to be safe at all cost.

"You know, you should just stay here. It's better for us to keep an eye on you." Damon told the doppelganger.

Faye looked at Damon as if he was crazy, "What, in the house that any vampire can enter? No. Her house is safer."

"Well, then we'll stay there." Damon negotiated.

Elena sighed, "So is that the plan? None of you will let me out of your sight again?"

Damon shrugged, "Let me know when you come up with a better one."

"Fine. Then one of you three bodyguards is gonna have to come with me to the Lockwood luncheon." Elena said with a grin.

Stefan raised his hand, "That's be me."

"Not us." Damon voiced, wrapping his arm around Faye's shoulders, "We have witch stuff to attend to with Bonnie."

"Does that mean that you're taking her to the..."

Faye cut Elena off, placing her index finger over her mouth, "Shhh."

Katherine walked in to the library, a clear expression of annoyance adorning her face, "Don't get quiet on my account. If you have a plan to combat the impending vampire doom, please do tell." No one answered as she looked between Stefan, Damon, and Faye, "Seriously, what is the plan to get us out of this mess, hmm? I delivered you a moonstone, a werewolf, and the dagger to lure and kill Klaus, and right now all you have is a moonstone. Or so you tell me."

Faye shook her head, "No we have it."

"Where is it?" Katherine asked.

"In a very safe place where snoopers like you-" Faye walked over and poked Katherine's chest, "-can't find it."

Katherine rolled her eyes, "I've been honest with you. Time to return the favor."

"Let me be honest with you." Damon said, standing up, "Don't mistake the fact that we haven't set you on fire in your sleep for trust."

Elena looked at Katherine and smiled innocently. Katherine clicked her tongue, "Fine. Be that way." She said before leaving.

__

Faye stared at the run down house where the witches had burned hundreds of years ago. She shivered, remembering what Elijah had said about their screams.

"Is this the spot Emily Bennett was killed, too?" Jeremy asked Damon as they walked closer to the house.

Damon nodded, "Founders thought it was poetic burning her where the other witches burned."

"How do you know where the witches burned?" Bonnie asked the eldest Salvatore.

"'Cause I tried to save her. Emily was just my key to getting Katherine back before I knew what a nasty little bitch Katherine was." Damon answered, causing Faye to laugh from the back of the group. They all stopped in front of the house, looking up at it.

"You sure it's the right place?" Jeremy asked, unsure. It didn't look like it had any power latching on to it.

Damon nodded and the walked in to the home. Faye instantly began looking around, placing her hand on the wall. She would have loved to these place before hand, it seemed like it was beautiful.

Suddenly, Damon stopped moving, "Whatever witchy prank you're playing, don't. It's not funny." He growled at Bonnie.

Bonnie frowned, "I'm not doing anything."

"I can't move."

"Not our problem, Damon." Faye muttered, blowing the dust off a shelf. The smell of burning skin hit her nose and she turned towards Damon, "You're burning!"

"Oh, my ring's not working." He tried to move into the shadows, but couldn't, "Do something." Damon told bonnie.

Bonnie closed her eyes, trying to connect with the spirits. The witches spoke to her and she opened her eyes, smirking, "I don't think the witches like you being here."

"I guess this is the right place." Jeremy muttered, looking around

Damon was finally able to move again and glared at Faye, "How come she can stay?"

"Because I'm a good person, Damon." Faye said with a smirk.

Damon sighed before looking at the door, "I'm going to wait outside." He then left leaving Faye, Bonnie and Jeremy alone in the witch house.

"Can you hand me the grimoire?" Bonnie asked Jeremy.

"Are you sure about this?" Jeremy asked worriedly, picking up the grimoire as he did.

Bonnie grinned, "Are you worried about me?"

"Yeah, of course I am." Jeremy told her. Bonnie took the grimoire from his hand and kissed him.

"I'm sure." She said.

"Oh, you two are adorable. Can we please hurry this up? I still haven't finished Avengers and I kind of want to." Faye tapped her wrist, pretending there was a watch there.

Bonnie chuckled and opened the grimoire up. She began reading the letter on the first page. Voices began whispering around them and Faye could not make out what they were saying.

"What is that?" Jeremy asked Bonnie.

"Spirits of the witches who died here, I can feel them." Bonnie was tense as she heard the whispers.

"What are they saying?" Faye questioned, staring up at the ceiling.

Bonnie frowned, shutting her eyes tight to concentrate better, "I can't tell." Suddenly, she began walking down towards the basement.

"Bon?" Faye asked, following the girl down to the basement, "Where are you going?"

Bonnie opened her eyes, standing in the middle of the basement, "Here. This is it. Help me set the candles." They all began setting the candles around the room for her.

"What the hell are they saying?" Jeremy asked when the whispers got louder.

Bonnie closed her eyes and concentrated. When she heard what they said, she opened them again.

"What is it?" Jeremy asked.

Bonnie shook her head, "Nothing." Suddenly, the candles were lit, "They're ready."

"You know what?" Faye said, "I'm going to go. I'm a little creeped out and I'm hungry. I left my thermos in Damon's car so, I'll see you guys when you're done."

Faye walked out of the witch house and on to the front porch where Damon was sitting. She plopped down next to him with a sigh.

"Why aren't you in the witch house?" Damon asked her.

"It got creepy. Whispers and ghost crap." Faye uttered.

Damon nudged her, laughing, "Scaredy-cat."

"You don't mess with ghost, Damon. Have you ever seen those movies where you piss them off then they start killing you off one by one?" Faye questioned. He nodded, "Well these are witch ghost. If I accidentally piss them off, they can actually kill me."

"Well, at least they didn't try yet." Damon replied.

Faye giggled, "I can't help that witches find me adorable."

Damon sarcastically laugh before his phone began ringing. His eyes widened, hearing what had happened at the luncheon.

"We need to go." Damon said as soon as he hung and they both got in to the car, driving towards the Lockwood mansion.

__

"Hey, how is he?" Damon asked when he walked into the mansion. Faye followed in behind him, balking at the sight of a dead John Gilbert.

"Ugh." Faye groaned.

"He's dead." Liz informed Damon, looking at his body. She then looked at Faye, "What is she doing here?"

Faye waved her hand, "Don't worry, Sheriff. Vampires and all things related to that are my specialty." She crouched down and examined John's hand for his ring. And the big tacky thing was there, "He's got his ring on, Damon."

Damon sighed, "Good. Then he'll be fine in a couple hours."

Carol raised her eyebrows at him, "What are you talking about? Damon, he's dead."

"Well, here's the thing, Mayor Lockwood." Faye picked up John's hand and showed her the ring, "You see this big tacky thing? It's an old Gilbert family heirloom that protects its owner from death by a supernatural entity."

"But he's not breathing. He has no pulse." Carol exclaimed.

"He will be, trust us." Damon assured her, "We're gonna need a cover story... epileptic fit, alcohol binge, banana peel, whatever works. But right now we just have to get him out of here." Damon picked up John's body and slung it over his shoulder, "Let's roll, Faye."

__

Stefan, Damon, and Faye were trying to find Isobel's place due to the most recent bad news. When Damon and Faye arrived back at the boarding house, the place had been ransacked and the moonstone was missing, along with Katherine. Then, to make matters worse, Elena was kidnapped by Isobel.

"Think this is the house?" Stefan asked when they pulled in front of the mansion.

Damon shut off the car ad sighed, "Better be. It's the nicest foreclosure in town."

"Swear to God if she's not here..." Stefan growled out.

Faye rolled her eyes and slapped his shoulder, "Don't be such a pessimist."

They all got of the car and walked up to the house. Faye kicked in the door, knowing it was locked. They entered and began looking around.

"I got upstairs." Stefan said before speeding away.

Faye sniffed around, using her hybrid senses to pick up any type of scent there could be, "Isobel's scent is everywhere in the house!" She called out to the Salvatores.

Damon joined her, holding a bag, "This is Isobel's stuff. It's definitely the right place."

Stefan sped downstairs, anxious to find Elena, "Where are they?"

"I don't know, Stefan."

"Wait," Faye said, gaining an idea, "Do you have anything of Elena's? Either of you? Like clothes, a brush, anything that could collect a scent?"

Stefan nodded, "Yeah, but you might not like it."

"We need to find, Elena. I'm willing to do anything." Faye said.

Stefan reached in to his pocket and pulled out what he had of Elena's. Faye took it from him as he blushed. She let out a squeak when she what it was, letting it fall to the floor.

"Stefan! Why do you have her thong?!" Faye yelled, "Why would you give this to me?!"

"I warned you." Stefan said, a blush on his face.

Damon smirked as he looked at the lacey material that was on the ground, "I never knew Elena would be a black lace type."

"I'm disgusted." Faye gingerly picked up the pair of underwear and held it far enough from her face so she could smell it. She tossed it back to Stefan when caught the scent, "We never, ever, speak of this again okay?"

Stefan and Damon nodded while Faye began tracking Elena's scent.

__

They found Elena in the middle of a cemetery, standing in front of a pile of ash, holding Isobel's necklace. Isobel was missing and Faye knew that pile of ash had to be her.

"Elena!" Stefan called out, rushing over to where Elena was shaking, in shock. Her mother just committed suicide in front of her and Klaus knew where she was. Ultimately, Elena was scared.

Elena turned around and rushed in to his arms. She whimpered into his chest as he tried to calm her.

Damon and Faye walked up to where the pile of ash was a looked at it, "Is that-?" Damon began asking.

"Isobel. Yeah, that's Isobel."

__

Elena was examining the necklace that was once around Isobel's neck. She had a solemn expression, not knowing what to really think about it. Both her real and birth mother were dead.

Faye, Stefan and Damon walked into the room where she was sitting. Faye sat down beside her and sighed, "Is that Isobel's?"

"I never thought I would feel bad about her being dead, and yet..." Elena trailed off sadly.

Stefan's lips formed into a thin line, "She was still your mother."

"Why did they let me go?" Elena asked.

"Well, anything John told Isobel, we have to assume that Klaus knows, right?" Stefan said and Elena greed, "So he knows that you're not gonna turn yourself into a vampire. He knows that you have us keeping you safe."

"He knows I'm not gonna run."

"Which is why we need to take some precautions, 'cause we got played, all of us." Damon placed a pile of papers on her lap.

Elena frowned in confusion, "What is this?"

"It's the deed to our house. It's in Zach's name. As soon as you sign it, it'll be in your name." Stefan told her.

"You're giving me your house?"

"Isobel had the right idea with the safe house. You'll just stay here till it's all over. That way, you can control who gets invited and who doesn't." Stefan declared.

"Although I'll be super pissed if you lock me out." Damon said.

John woke up, gasping for air. Damon rushed over and grabbed him by his shirt.

"I swear I had no idea what she was gonna do. I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry." John rushed out.

Elena stood up, stomping her foot, "Damon, let him go. He and I need to talk."

__

Damon, Stefan, and Faye moved to the library to have a drink together and give John and Elena some time to talk.

"Hey, Bonnie said the spell worked. She's locked and loaded." Damon informed them.

Stefan nodded, appreciating that, "At least something went right today. Katherine has no idea that Bonnie got her powers back and Isobel had no idea what you and Jeremy took Bonnie to do today. We're the only ones who know."

Faye smirked proudly, "And that makes Bonnie our secret weapon."

"Indeed it does, Ms. Faye." Damon said, raising his glass for a toast. They all clinked their glasses together, Faye draining her's soon after.

"So, I'm going to go finish my movie. Do not bother me, I will rip out your spleen." Faye said beginning to walk out, "Goodnight Super Salvatore bros!"

Once Faye had gone upstairs, she got ready for bed and finally finished Avengers.

__

Katherine woke up and saw the warlock who had taken her casting a spell on someone sitting in a chair. There are two vases. One was full of blood; the other was empty and knocked over on its side. Alaric was the one sitting in the chair. He opened his eyes and got up. The warlock greeted him with a bow.

Alaric turned around, beginning to stalk towards Katherine. She eyed him warily, "Alaric?"

Katherine rushed towards the door, only to be trapped inside. Alaric slowly got closer until he was in front of her.

"Zdravei, Katerina." Alaric took her face in his hands, "I have missed you."

"Klaus!"
