TO SAVE THEM ALL

I DO NOT OWN NARUTO

"Ohana means family. . . and family means no one gets left behind or forgotten."

Naruto smiled. He now understood the true meaning of "ohana". However, a frown found its way upon the blonde's face when he thought of Yahiko and the Akatsuki. History was repeating itself, except with another leader. Yahiko would not be that great a threat as Nagato was, since he did not possess the Rinnegan, however with Madara and the Akatsuki, he could still be a formidable opponent.

Naruto suddenly jumped up, startling his friends who were sitting in a circle with him, quietly talking among themselves as he thought.

"What is it?" Sakura asked, gently laying a hand on his shoulder.

"The jinchuuriki," Naruto breathed. "Yahiko is leading the Akatsuki with Madara. If they get their hands on the jinchuuriki again, history will repeat itself."

"So what are you going to do?" Neji asked.

Naruto thought for a moment before announcing firmly, "I'm going to form a Jinchuuriki Alliance."

"When are you leaving?" Sasuke asked.

"I will be leaving today, if possible. It is crucial I leave as quickly as I can. Who knows if the Akatsuki will be on the move already? I will be leaving a blood clone to cover for me, so you don't need to worry about that Sasuke."

"Naruto," Sakura called softly, "if you like you can leave now."

Naruto raised an eyebrow. "I haven't even. . . oh no you didn't."

Sasuke smirked. "Did you honestly think that we wouldn't guess what you were thinking? I'm your brother."

Naruto smiled. "You guys packed for me?"

His reply was a bag being thrown at him, which he promptly opened to check what was inside.

"Did you all. . . pitch in?" His eyebrows shot straight up. Brand-new kunai and shuriken, probably from Sasuke, sealing scrolls and ink brushes most likely from Sai, food was probably taken care of by Sakura and camping necessities from everyone else. He also spied short-sleeved, knee-length cloaks of different colours. They looked suspiciously similar to his father's Hokage cloak.

Grinning, he sealed it into his forearm. "Thanks you guys."

Everyone was looking at him, smiles on their faces.

"I guess it's only fair that a member of Team 7 is to be the one to save the world," Neji said smiling.

"Good luck my youthful rival!" Lee exclaimed.

Naruto nodded before forming a hand seal, making another Naruto poof into existence beside him.

"See you later!" Naruto smiled, whipping out a beige-coloured cloak that had black flames on the sleeves and the end of the cloak.

"Hiraishin," he whispered before disappearing in a dark orange flash, reappearing a moment later in the Hidden Village of the Sand.

Humming to himself, Naruto walked around and finally found the Kazekage Mansion. Naruto sweatdropped at the sounds of chaos within the house. Which mainly consisted of Temari screaming at Kankuro for being an idiot, and the latter screaming at her to leave him alone which would inevitably spark something Kankuro would surely regret.

"Yo Gaara~" Naruto shouted as he nonchalantly let himself in, quickly dodging a wave of sand, bullets of air and two puppets.

"Hey, would ya please keep the attacking to the minimum? I came to talk to Gaara!" Naruto whined, kicking a puppet away as he countered another wind jutsu with one of his own.

"Oh, it's just you Naruto," Gaara said, smiling slightly.

Naruto scowled. "Couldn't you sense my chakra signature? Or at least Shukaku could sense Kurama!"

"I did sense you," Gaara replied simply. "I just thought you would enjoy the welcome."

"I hate you."

"Love you too."

Temari and Kankuro smiled at the exchange. After the Chuunin Exams, Gaara had somewhat softened, and his bloodthirsty personality had completely disappeared. He still kept his stoic, unreadable personality, but it was at least easier to interact with him.

"So what do you want to talk about?" Gaara asked.

Naruto simply pointed at the mansion's training ground. "Outside."

The redhead nodded and the two made their way outside, quietly talking with worry on Naruto's face and curiosity on Gaara's.

"So what's up?" Gaara asked.

"The sky," Naruto replied dryly before he got serious. "Remember, when the Akatsuki took all the jinchuuriki? We have rescued Nagato and Konan, but Yahiko is now leading the Akatsuki. Yahiko won't be as great a threat as Nagato since he doesn't possess the Rinnegan, but with Madara and the Akatsuki behind him, he will be a formidable opponent," Naruto said seriously.

Gaara frowned. "So what do you propose we do? We only know one other jinchuuriki, Bee. He's in Kumo, obviously."

"I'm planning on meeting all the jinchuuriki," Naruto explained. "And get them to join the Jinchuuriki Alliance. I'll also add them to a separate telepathy link, so if someone is in trouble or cornered by the Akatsuki, they can always ask for help. I'll also put a Hirashin seal on them so I can teleport to them instantly."

Gaara nodded, smiling. "You still have that Kage aura around you."

Naruto snorted. "Can't say that much for you. Now if you don't mind, I would like to place that seal on you and then be on my way."

"Of course."

After Naruto applied the seal, the two had a brief chat about how things were going for the One-Tailed Raccoon's jinchuuriki, and then the Nine-Tailed Fox's jinchuuriki departed for Kumo to seek out the Two-Tails and the Eight-Tails.

"Oh, and Gaara?" the blonde stopped mid-way, and threw something white over his shoulder.

"See ya," Naruto muttered, disappearing in another dark orange flash, leaving Gaara alone in the garden.

The redhead carefully opened his palm to find a white forehead protector with the kanji "一" on it. Gaara smiled slightly as he slipped it in his pocket.

"You're number nine! Hey, brother of mine!" Bee rapped happily. Evidently Gyuki had told him some. . . information.

Naruto nodded. "I don't have my brother with me, so unfortunately I can't restore your memory, Bee."

"Chill, bro! I'll be completely fine!" Bee reassured. "I'm Killer Bee, and I have Gyuki inside of me!"

"Shut up Bee," a woman with blonde hair tied in a neat plait came up. "And who are you?" she narrowed her eyes suspiciously at Naruto.

"Um, the jinchuuriki of the Nine-Tails?" Naruto offered awkwardly. This woman reminded him of Karui. . .

The woman's face somewhat relaxed. "Oh, Naruto is it? My name is Yugito. Matatabi has been telling me a lot about you, and apparently we've travelled back in time?"

"So all the Bijuu remember," Naruto smiled. "That makes everything easier. Yes, my name is Naruto, and I'm here to make sure the Akatsuki don't take the jinchuuriki again so history repeats itself."

"But Kurama told us that Nagato and Konan, the leaders of the Akatsuki, had been saved," Yugito frowned.

"Yes, but there was another that founded the Akatsuki. Yahiko, and he fell into the darkness when Nagato and Konan told him they were leaving the Akatsuki. I'm afraid he teamed up with Madara," Naruto explained.

"I thought you saved Obito Uchiha. Could Madara have taken another apprentice?" Yugito frowned thoughtfully.

Naruto shook his head. "I don't know. All I know is that we have to keep our guard up and train to defend ourselves against them. With your consent, I would like to place a Hirashin seal on the both of you so I can teleport to you and aid you if necessary. The Bijuu inside of us will act as a telepathy link."

"Alright," Yugito nodded, speaking for herself and Bee as she had slapped a hand over his mouth to prevent her companion from speaking.

After Naruto finished the process, he bid the two jinchuuriki goodbye and made his way to the Hidden Village of the Mist.

'Yagura will be under the control of an Uchiha, if I remember correctly,' Naruto said to his tenant. 'Do you think we can find out who is pretending to be Madara this time? '

"Maybe. Just be careful," Kurama cautioned.

'Hai.'

Yugito blinked when she found something white dangling from her hand. She looked to see a white forehead protecter with the kanji "二". Bee had the same, except with the kanji "八".

"Halt. State your business," a guard said strictly, seeing a figure move slowly towards him through the mist.

Quickly, Naruto hid behind a tree, cursing mentally as he pulled out a celeste blue cloak to replace the black one he was still wearing when he entered Kumo.

"Who's there? Show yourself!" the guard shouted again as Naruto carefully concealed himself.

"Must've been my imagination. . ." the guard murmured, allowing Naruto to finally move out of the safety of the tree.

Naruto stood still for a moment, waiting. When the guard made no move to indicate he had seen him, Naruto silently slipped past them and hurried to the Mizukage Tower. He crept around like a shadow, carefully concealing his presence.

When Naruto finally stepped into the Mizukage office, he breathed a sigh of relief, still not removing his hood in case the Uchiha controlling Yagura was in the room.

"Who are you?" Unique magenta eyes flashed as Yagura looked up.

'Kurama. . .'

"I know. Let me talk to Isobu first."

'I leave it to you then.'

"A fellow jinchuuriki," Naruto answered, hands up in surrender as his eyes flicked around for any sign of the mysterious Uchiha.

"Would you care to reveal yourself, then?" Yagura asked with a hint of suspicion.

Naruto didn't answer, seeing the pale shimmer of the Sharingan in Yagura's uniquely-coloured eyes.

"Kit. I can see the Sharingan controlling Isobu."

'I know, I can see the Sharingan in Yagura's eyes. How do I break his control? '

"Cover Yagura's eyes with your hand and let me flow my chakra through him. That'll break it."

Naruto nodded mentally before slowly walking towards Yagura. "Forgive me, Yagura. This will only be for a moment," Naruto said calmly as he brought his hand up and covered Yagura's eyes.

A moment later Naruto felt the Uchiha's presence get sent flying back to whatever corner of the earth he was from, so the blonde removed his hand.

Yagura blinked. "Who. . ."

"Naruto Uzumaki, a fellow jinchuuriki," Naruto replied calmly. "Do you remember anything?"

"No. . ." Yagura said slowly before his eyes suddenly widened. "I-I couldn't of. . . no, I didn't do that!" Yagura shouted, looking traumatized.

Naruto blinked. 'Uh, Kurama? '

"Don't worry, he's just getting all his memories hurled at him," Kurama said lazily.

Naruto sighed mentally. "Yagura, please pull yourself together. We need to talk business, and more than that, we need your jinchuuriki friend to be present and here in the Mist as well."

"Utakata," Yagura whispered. "How could I?"

"You were being controlled," Naruto said simply. "And it was lucky for you that I came here to stop the Uchiha before things got irreversible. At least now, if you work tirelessly, things can go back to normal."

Yagura nodded wordlessly.

"Well now," Naruto said somewhat cheerfully, "let's go retrieve Utakata, shall we?"

Yagura twitched. 'He somewhat reminds me. . . of me when I was younger, when I didn't realize the burden the world thrust upon me.'

Naruto smiled to himself as he saw Yagura thinking. Maybe, saving all the jinchuuriki would be possible after all.

He once heard a song Sakura had played once, and now it seemed the lyrics were fitting more than ever to his emotions.

{Shakugan no Shana theme song}

"I must be dreaming, tonight.

We erase it from our memories.

You can't escape

I only know this secret with you.

How can I protect you forever?

Close your eyes

I'll be anything for you.

I can't live this life

Without you by my side."

Yagura looked up slightly at the blonde's murmured song. "What. . . how do you. . ." he was confused.

Naruto looked at him. "What?"

"That song," Yagura stumbled over his words. "You know it?"

"Yeah," Naruto said slowly.

"How do you know it?" they both asked simultaneously.

"My sister. She played it once," Naruto replied quickly before the Three-Tails' jinchuuriki could answer.

"Ah, alright then. As for me, Isobu has told me of that song."

"Naruto. That song has meaning hidden within it. If you focus on it enough, maybe you will be able to call forth something," Kurama said cryptically.

Naruto raised an eyebrow mentally. "Care to elaborate more you lazy fox? "

"That's as far as I'm allowed to say," the fox replied. "And quit disrespecting me. Geez, kids these days. . ."

Naruto scoffed. "Whatever." Aloud, he said, "Well Yagura? Shall we?"

Yagura jerked a bit, suddenly remembering that they had to retrieve Utakata. "Yeah, let's go," the Mizukage said, magenta eyes burning with determination.

《》《》《》《》《》《》《》《》《》《》《》《》《》《》

"Damn. . . hunter-nins. What do we do?" Yagura hissed when he saw Mist ninja cornering the Six-Tails' jinchuuriki.

Naruto looked at his companion disbelievingly and deadpanned, "Mizukage."

Yagura facepalmed as Naruto muttered under his breath, "And people say I'm dense."

"M-Mizukage-sama!" one of the hunter-nins exclaimed. Utakata grimaced under his breath when he saw his corrupted childhood friend.

"Kiyō," Yagura said calmly. "I'll handle things from here. You and the others go back to the village."

"Hai Mizukage-sama!" The hunter-nin bowed, before he and the rest of the ninjas jumped off.

"Come to take me out yourself, have you Yagura? I'm honoured by your presence," Utakata mocked.

Yagura shook his head. "I don't come to fight. I come to talk."

"Talk? Talk? " Utakata repeated. "I've been trying to talk to you for the past months before I defected. You never gave me the chance!"

"I apologize, Utakata," Yagura said sorrowfully. "I was -"

"Okay, cut! We're all friends here so quit being so formal!" the blonde beside the gray-haired Mizukage ordered, slapping the back of the boy's head.

"Ow! Naruto, what the hell was that for?!" Yagura glared, the neutral aura around him quickly dissipating.

"That was for being all cold, neutral and formal!" Naruto retorted.

"What is with jinchuuriki and slapping me?" Yagura whined.

"Huh?" Naruto blinked.

Yagura glared. "I happened to be paid a visit by this girl. I think she was the Seven-Tails' jinchuuriki. No idea why she was in my village, but coincidentally she said the same thing as you, and slapped me! Quit slapping me people!"

Utakata blinked as he watched Yagura bicker with Naruto. This. . . was certainly unexpected. He was expecting the cold-hearted killer his friend and become since taking the title of Mizukage, but instead he was seeing Yagura's very. . . childish side.

"Formality is practically screwed into my brain!" Yagura snapped.

"Then un-screw it!" Naruto rolled his eyes.

"No! I'm the Mizukage, I can't afford to be informal!" Yagura huffed, crossing his arms.

"Well quit being formal when you're with your friends! Geez, lighten up will ya?! Adults these days," Naruto groaned in exasperation.

Yagura pouted before the two noticed Utakata stifling laughter.

"What did you two come here for?" Utakata asked, finally containing the laughter that was threatening to bubble up into the open.

"Come back to the village," Yagura said simply.

Utakata gaped at him. "You. . . you came out here just to tell me that? "

"Well, yes," Yagura said, slightly puzzled as if it was an ordinary occurence for the leader of a village to come out and tell their missing nin they were to come back to the village.

Naruto facepalmed. "Please Utakata, ignore Yagura. Right now he is a blabbering buffoon -"

"Hey!" Yagura cried indignantly.

"- allow me to explain," Naruto continued, ignoring his newly-made friend. "You are aware that you are the Six-Tails' jinchuuriki, right?"

Utakata nodded slowly.

"Good," Naruto breathed a sigh of relief. "So. . . have you made contact with Saiken?"

Again, Utakata nodded.

"Yay," Naruto smiled. "So, my plan is to inform all of the jinchuuriki about the Akatsuki. I believe Saiken and Isobu will tell you later if they haven't already. All I'm asking is for your permission to allow me to place a seal on you. They allow me to teleport to you if need be, and the Bijuu inside of you will act as a telepathic link."

The two quickly complied with the other jinchuuriki, and in a matter of minutes, Naruto was bidding them goodbye.

"See you around," Naruto said, pulling on a gray short-sleeved cloak to replace the celeste blue one he had on.

Just before he left, he threw them forehead protectors like he had done to the other jinchuuriki.

One with a kanji "三", another with the kanji "六".

Naruto stretched. "Geez, I'm feeling tired with all this walking."

"You haven't been walking much," Kurama deadpanned. "If anything, I'd say you're tired from Hirashin-ing all over the place, and explaining things over and over again."

Naruto grinned sheepishly. "I've only done five jinchuuriki so far. Three more to go, then I'm gonna crash."

"Crash?" Kurama's amused voice asked.

"As in, go home and scare the living daylights out of Saki and Ke, and then I'm going to crash into bed."

"Don't over-exhaust yourself," Kurama warned.

"Don't worry about me," Naruto grinned. "I know the limits of my body very well, I assure you."

"Uh-huh," Kurama retorted sarcastically. "Very well."

"Oh, shut up you," Naruto smiled. "I only over-exerted myself a few times. Nothing to worry about there."

"Kit, there IS a lot to worry about there."

"Well, don't."

"Can't help it."

"Aw, you do care~! " Naruto teased.

"I-I do not!" Kurama spluttered.

"Oh yes you do! Admit it, I've grown on you! " Naruto said smugly.

"Kit I swear -"

"Aw, you're blushing," Naruto crooned.

"KIT SHUT UP RIGHT NOW OR SO HELP ME I WILL TEAR YOUR BLASTED MIND APART!"

Naruto laughed as he mentally mapped his way to the Hidden Village of the Stone before activating his Hirashin.

Could be longer, but meh. 3090 words is enough for me. Do you want me to write Naruto meeting the rest, or can I timeskip to when he comes back to Konoha?

Anyway. . . I'm dead.

Next chapter will be up probably next week. I'm on a roll on this story, so I'm hopefully gonna finish it soon. . . as in next year?

Idk, I can't think right now.

Comment and I'll reply later after I get a decent amount of sleep.

Bye.
